Golf course Golf driving range Golf instructorAbout the Club
Enger Park Golf Course, just south of downtown set atop a high bluff, Enger Park treats golfers to enjoyable experiences and breathtaking views of Duluth Harbor. Built in 1927 near the historic Enger Park Tower, the 27-hole course features three, distinct parkland-, links- and traditional-style layouts. Ranging from 3,168 to 3,359 yards, the par-36, βFront 9,β βMiddle 9β and βBack 9β presents golfers with distinct experiences as several holes run through densely wooded areas while others navigate around scenic ponds and strategic bunkers. Four sets of tees ensure fun but fair tests for all handicappers.

I drove up from the Twin Cities this past weekend to play Enger Park Golf Course and was pleasantly surprised by the shape it was in. From what I understand, they recently installed a new irrigation system, so the course is still recovering a bit, but overall it was in great condition. The greens rolled true and were fantastic.
When I first arrived at the range, I met Sam, who was working on the ball machine. He was extremely friendly, and we had a great conversation. I later learned heβs the Assistant Manager, and he even came out during my round to check in and see how things were going. That kind of hospitality is rare in the big cities and honestly made the experience stand out, it gave the whole visit a welcoming, small-town feel that would make me come back again.
The course itself has tons of character with stunning views of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River. Overall, Enger Park is a gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable round in Duluth.

We were apprehensive about golfing Enger course. The course was in desperate need of TLC the last couple years, so we were mostly playing Nemadji. We were glad we gave Enger another try! The conditions were excellent! We had a great 9 hole game. The course still needs work on the cart paths ( in the works I was told) and the clubhouse is in need of updating. Otherwise a 10/10.

They inspect the cart with a fine tooth comb after the round without ANY mention to pre-inspect your cart before starting your round.

$50 for nine holes on a Sunday night is a little ridiculous Especially when the driving range is closed early on Sundays, so canβt even warm up. Otherwise, the course is pretty good I would rate higher if it had better prices

Holy dirt-patch batman!
I'll keep this review short and snappy (like my swing). Below is a poem summing up my experience here..
This course is full of dirt
The look of the course makes my eyes hurt
The staff is rude
I identify as a female but the pro shop attendant called me "dude"?
I cannot emphasize the waste of money
Its not even funny
Enger Park Golf Course is a slap in the face
Be sure to check their crawl space!!!

Charging $26 to walk 9 holes at this course is borderline criminal. Half the fairways are destroyed due to construction or carts driving all over the wet fairways. This is by far the worst condition I've ever seen the course in. I would recommend the drive over to play Nemadji 10 times out of 10 rather than playing this course.

Itβs a municipal course, so you know what to expect. I called to book a twilight tee time. They donβt offer twilight. No big deal. It had rained a ton the days leading up to the tee time so I called day of and asked if it was wet/check on conditions. The person told me the front was dry but the back was wet. When I arrived I said I wanted to do 9 and confirmed that I was starting on hole 1. The younger person ringing me in said yes thatβs fine. I proceed to hole 1 and was quickly told that they were starting on 10th whole. I explained I wanted to stay dry, but was told to go to 10. The βrangerβ told me he golfed it that morning but it was not as bad as expected. Well, it was soggy. Too soggy. Surprised they allowed carts.
Tee box quality was ok, what you may expect from a muni. I didnβt expect heavy machinery construction on hole 11.
Canβt beat the views of this course!!

I think this could have been a great experience. I was really excited to come here with my wife and play disc golf while she sat on the golf cart. I called on a different day to inquire about prices and I was told that it was going to be $12 to play the disc golf course and if I wanted a cart for my wife, it would be about another $18 or so with tax. When I got there, I was charged $43! I asked why I was charged more than I thought it would be, the golf-ranger Todd told me that it costs another $13 to have my wife in the cart with me. Then I said βIβll walk and she can drive the cart aroundβ but he said βthatβs not how it works. This is the right price.β The golf ranger was very rude about it and didnβt offer any options to make the experience more enjoyable. I was very disappointed. I wonβt be coming back. To pay that price is outrageous.

Poor management. Paid for 18 got through about 7 & had a family emergency come up. So I went into the clubhouse to see if I could get credit or something so I can make up the other 9 I paid for. The guy said sorry we canβt do that, Iβm not gonna get fired for giving you credit we donβt do that hereβ¦ I find that frustrating. Not to mention the ranger there was extremely rude alsoβ¦ you pay all this money the least they could do is make your experience enjoyable. Last time I go there. Iβll be taking my business to other courses that are willing to work with people when something like an emergency comes up.
Also they make you pay for 2 seats on a cart even if youβre playing solo

My love and I traveled to Duluth for a fun get away and I promised him a game of golf. He spent time finding a spot he thought I would also enjoy seeing as I do not golf, I watch and take in the air. He chose this park and we were sorely, SORELY, disappointed. The course was rough, patchy, ungroomed, and not at all worth the extra roughly $20 it cost to rent the cart for the ride. It was a nice game of golf but not worth the total 40 some dollars it cost for a single golfer and cart.

Healthy grass, well maintained carts, fair prices.
Overall, it's a great day of golfing any time of the season. Could use a little more organization around clubhouse amenities. The website for scheduling Tee times is easy to navigate. Not sure if walk ons are available, but im sure if you walk up to the Pro, they will let you know. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices seem the same as Nemadji.

This course is unfortunately frustrating to go to. Built on top of rock so don't expect luscious fairways, greens seem to always be in poor condition, the range is hit or miss for good condition, plus bugs everywhere in the afternoon. In addition to the range being in a near constant state of disrepair, the balls are incredibly expensive compared to other courses like Nemadji, about twice the price.
I've heard this course is supposed to be getting a major overhaul in the next few years, I hope it happens and this course becomes more playable as I live nearby and think the scenery is absolutley gorgeous.
Course aside, the staff is generally friendly but sometimes seem distracted talking to each other while customers line up.
In my opinion, if you're looking to golf in the area there are plenty of other courses around that are less expensive and have higher quality turf. If all you care about is the location then have at it, but I would recommend Nemadji over Enger Park any day of the week.

Worst golf experience I've had in while. I was playing behind two 8-somes for the first 9 holes, and when the marshal and golf pro came around they both said there was nothing they could do. I eventually had to skip holes to get ahead of them. The course was also in terrible shape. Most of the tee boxes were just dirt, the fairways are always pretty beat up, and the greens were aerated and had dead spots all over. Enger Park could be the best public course in the area but sadly is one of, if not, the worst course. I'll keep making the drive to Nemadji.

Terrible course management, on some holes the fairways have little to no grass leaving you hitting your ball in dirt/gravel. Twice I booked a tee time online only to show up at the shop being told they had no record of my reservation despite giving my payment information. Some staff members are nice while others sound like they don't even want to be there. If your're looking to play a casual round of golf I would look elsewhere.

Course has came a long way from last year. There are a few fairways that could use a little work but there's definitely been big improvements. Staff are very friendly as well. Enger is a fun, challenging golf course that I've enjoyed playing day after day. Only drawback is the range is typically packed between 5:00-6:30 during the week with college and high school golfers. Minor inconvenience and a great excuse for when I slice my first drive 50 yards into the woods. Would recommend this course to anyone and I wouldn't have last year. Great course!

Wonderful course on the bluff above Duluth. Itβs a municipal that gets a lot of love and has plenty of challenge. Mostly, it is uncomplicated, so many of your off target shots will just give you a more βinterestingβ next shot. Greens has been aerated a few weeks before but were healing well and I had to adjust to the speed (faster than they looked).
Check the scorecard for length, you might want to play the back tees (or at least start there if you are a long driver.) Par threes are mostly around 180 from the whites, and the par 5s are in the 500βs.
Being a municipal, a single like me got paired with a couple of other regulars, and that made for a great round. There are lots of doglegs (mostly left, I thought) and it was nice to have someone give me a line.
The on-line reservation system is not always cooperative, but you can reserve by phone. The team in the pro-shop is the best, very friendly and helpful.
Could not have asked or gotten more from a round of golf. There are 27 holes, all of them worth playing.

Played today. Stay away. Staff was friendly but thatβs as far as I can go for positives. The course was in terrible condition. Canβt believe they charged full price. I think 5 or 7 greens were temporary greens, maybe more. Your GPS wonβt work so better have a range finder or guess. If you drive your golf cart down the fairways, go slow - itβs very bumpy and might break an axle, or your back. The website has a ton of info about Covid-19, FAQ, and doβs and donβtβs but NOTHING about the fact that the course is under construction. DO NOT PLAY HERE.

Really nice basic municipal golf course. Wonderful views on some holes. Lots of hills.
I love playing Enger, but my game hates it. Generally, there are trees lining both sides of every hole. There is 40-60 yards of room to put your ball into before you get in trouble, which is too tight for my horrid game.
This summer, 2018, were the best greens Iβve ever seen at Enger. If you are planning on playing it one time on your trip to Duluth, do it this summer. Guys I know that have played there 40+ years say they are the best they have seen them.
Great work guys!
Lastly, Skyline pass pays for itself if you think youβll play there twice. Or Lester. If you think youβll play there a few times during the summer, definitely get the Skyline pass.

Course is in fair shape. Winter kill poor maintenance. Greens are rough.

Amazing! The court is beautiful for sure. The staff here are all very helpful and are amazing with their service. Though the wind shifts can catch the non regulars off guard, it is a fun course to play.
