Hunter is the man. He has a strong understanding of the mind and body and soul, and how they work together. He is helping me through my immediate needs (low back pain), while also teaching me the importance of full body strength, motion, and mindset. I’m on track to becoming stronger and healthier than I’ve ever been before. Plus, the appointments are fun. Much laughter!

I run 100 mile races on the Superior Hiking Trail (Superior 100) and other ultras including the Arrowhead 135 (135 miles on foot in the winter). My hamstring was pretty seriously injured a while back and I just couldn't figure out how to recover. My wife had done some work with Hunter and had excellent results, so I met with him over a number of weeks. The results for me were magical! I'm back to running now after hardly being able to run for a while. Just ran a 50k over the weekend! Hunter helped me to transform my situation from injury to health through working on form and giving me a much deeper understanding of what was going on. I am so grateful to be back out on the trails!

Best thing happened to me findig coach Hunter.Amazing his training technic, I play hockey and this method is perfect for injury prevention.Must do it who seriously doing any sport, or anybody who wants to recover from injuries. I started working with Hunter in May of 2023. It has been 2 years now. I have always been a physically active person but after a severe fall I had lost my confidence in how to move my body and I had a knee issue that would not go away. And I was angry because I had done Yoga, Pilates, Physical Therapy, Weight Lifting, etc... why was I having this knee problem. Then I found Form First. When I started with Hunter I was afraid to do a lunge. I had so many fears. But Hunter has taught me how to move my body in a more cohesive way. He works not only on the straight muscles but also the spiral muscles which are so very important to strengthen. Today, I can do lunges (no fear), my movement and walking pace is free and fast. Hunter is so supportive, kind, and funny. He understands the obstacles that get in the way of progress. I recommend Hunter to anyone who wants to be stronger and feel better in their body. Oh, by the way, I am 70 years young. He helps all ages.

I was referred to Hunter by Fix It PT/ Dr. Kelly Roberts. Who I trust immensely and has never steered me wrong in the past. I was very scared and tentative to start exercising seriously again as I was coming off back surgery and severe tendinitis pain in my elbow. Hunter respected my limitations and somehow managed to sneakily get me working muscles and using foam rolling and myofascial release techniques. I am very grateful for the support and encouragement Hunter provides and feel stronger then ever, I’m back to skiing and golf and much happier!

Hunter is the best! I have been running for years and have developed knee, hip and lower back pain. In addition, any time I would attempt planks or push ups, my back pain was unbearable. I went looking for someone to figure out what I am doing wrong, and Hunter had the answers! We’ve been working together weekly for a few months, and my pain is gone! By strengthening my core and really teaching me about my form, he has helped me solve my issues. I feel stronger and more toned. On top of all that, Hunter is a great guy-funny, motivating and plays great music, all while pushing me in our sessions! Highly recommend!

I started training with Hunter over a year ago in his Stillwater location. When he relocated to White Bear I made the transition with him as I didn’t think I could find anyone as knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging and patient as he was. Hunter worked with me on balance, core and muscle strengthening, all of which improved dramatically. I would still be with him if I hadn’t relocated to California. I highly recommend Hunter for your fitness needs.

Working with Hunter at Form First I came to understand how my various chronic pains, which I had been treating as separate issues in physical therapy for years, were all connected.
I learned how to use fascia release techniques, independently, as a strategy to alleviate pain and begin to correct imbalances in my movement patterns. I worked with Hunter to strengthen whole muscle systems to restore my movement patterns to the point where the pain I experienced was infrequent and minimal.
After six months of training with Hunter my perception of what I am physically capable of has shifted. If you are feeling discouraged and unsure if anyone can help you overcome the obstacles posed by your own body, I would definitely recommend Form First as a place to learn that the limitations you have been living with are not permanent.

Hunter is a fantastic trainer. He really knows body mechanics and how to provide a whole body workout, sometimes targeting muscles I didn't know I had. Workouts with him are varied and challenging enough that I leave feeling energized with tired muscles. He's great at tailoring workouts that are perfect for me and what I need. I highly recommend Hunter if you want to get to the next level of strength and fitness, not only workouts but nutrition as well. Hunter has been absolutely amazing to work with! He's helped both my daughter and I correct years of poor movement patterns in just a couple months.
We're learning how to release chronically tight muscles and strengthen asymetrical weaknesses that are often the cause of chronic pain and injuries. We have both noticed huge improvements already and it's only been a couple months.
I was referred to Hunter because of a shoulder injury that was taking forever to heal and it is now completely pain-free with full range of motion! Woohoo!!! 🤗
Hunter's expertise, attention to detail, gentle corrections and simple explanations are what make him exceptional at what he does!

I’ve lived with chronic back pain for years from old sporting injuries. Complications from a difficult pregnancy resulted in diastasis recti, and eventually led to a torn hip labrum. Before seeing Hunter I was in constant pain for weeks, and could barely manage to walk enough to grocery shop. The exercise program he developed for me and the detailed instruction regarding body mechanics has done wonders for my overall health and functionality. After our first session I was sold, I was walking 80% better and the pain I had been experiencing for weeks was drastically reduced. Currently, I am in the best shape I have been in since my early 20’s. More importantly, my back pain is better than it has been in years, my hip is stable, my gait is normal, and my abdominal gap and core instability is resolving. I can’t recommend Hunter enough, I am so thankful to have finally found a solution to my problems!

I first saw Hunter due to chronic pain and back issues which I’ve had for about 20 years. Hunter told me to stop doing my other workouts and give him two months of time to see how it would help with pain. After two months, I was in the least amount of pain I’ve been in in 20 years and now after about six months continue to get better.

I started seeing Hunter on the recommendation of a friend who has been working with him for about a year. We both had never been ones to stick to a wellness routine, this was working for her, and I was desperate to find something that works for me too. As I’m approaching middle age I can feel myself slowing down, and I want to take steps to ensure that I am proactive about aging well. I began seeing Hunter in October 2021 after being discharged from a standard 8 visits of physical therapy. I knew I was not back to 100% and wanted to achieve that after dealing with right hip pain for over 6 months. In my first visit, Hunter lead me through a basic functional posture training which was humbling! It pointed out my weaknesses and focused in on them. After that first visit, the nerve pain and tension in my right hip and leg was almost completely gone; and now, one month in, that pain is a distant memory! I am so pleased at the results I have been able to achieve in this month and I am looking forward to even more growth as I continue with him. There is no cookie cutter method with Hunter. He meets you where you are at and progresses you at your pace. Every workout is easy to do at home but definitely gets the heart pumping and muscles burning! So thankful for Hunter and FormFirst!

I started working out with Hunter in August 2020. This was after working 41 years as a flight attendant, several foot surgeries, a pronating foot, multiple sprained ankles, many auto accidents where I was rear ended, all of these injuries had misaligned my posture and I was in pain from “dysfunctional movement patterns”. Hunter is very knowledgeable and committed to overall body mobility, strength and performance. He has helped me immensely by strengthening various muscles to realign my posture. My pronated foot is now very stable and all other aches and pains I just lived with before are gone! I highly recommend his program so that you can live your fullest life!

Hunter’s spacious and clean studio is perfect for one on one training. Most importantly his training regime if effective and really transformative.
