Horrible experience. My friends and I came with a valid guest pass and this guy immediately became aggressive, shouting and refusing to calmly explain the policy. I have been a loyal member of LA Fitness for the past three to four years, and I have always appreciated the facility, the environment, and the staff’s professionalism. However, during my recent visit, I encountered an employee whose behavior was completely unacceptable and far below the standards I have come to expect from your organization.

This individual was extremely rude, spoke in a disrespectful tone, and treated me in a way that made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. His attitude suggested a complete lack of understanding of customer service and basic courtesy. He acted as if he were the owner of the gym rather than an employee responsible for assisting and supporting members.

As a long-term member, I was genuinely shocked by the way I was treated. This was the first time in all my years with LA Fitness that I have ever been treated so poorly by a staff member. No customer should ever have to experience such behavior in an environment that is meant to promote health, respect, and community.

I respectfully request that management look into this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure such incidents do not happen again. I also believe that this employee would greatly benefit from additional training in communication, customer service, and professional conduct.

LA Fitness has always been a place I have enjoyed and recommended to others, and I sincerely hope that this issue can be addressed promptly to restore the positive experience I have always associated with your brand.

Generally clean, and most equipment gets fixed quickly.

However, early in the morning, a majority of the free weight machines still have plates on them, barbells are scattered on the floor, dumbells are all over the place, etc. This morning was particularly bad: 85 and 90 lb. dumbells on the floor, EZ curl and barbells on the floor by the walls, various dumbells scattered all over the place (many dumbells are missing), etc. It not only makes a workout more time-consuming and difficult, its also a safety hazard.

Most mornings its like this, but now its even worse. Its like everyone can't get out of here fast enough at 10:00 pm. If members won't re-rack weights and machines, can the closing staff take 15 extra minutes to do this?

I came into this gym recently with a guestpass and the waiver signed online with the permission of my parents I came into the gym with my older brothers who are 19 and 21 and the salesperson that I met told me that you have to be 18 to sign the waiver and a guardian or parent can’t do it and I must get the membership to workout im 17 turning 18 soon so I was really confused on why I couldn’t go in but the salesperson kept telling me you have to be 18 to walk in or be 13 with a membership it’s such a insane policy to me but I don’t intend on returning back to this gym

This is basically an average gym. I feel like it's gone downhill a little since Kailynn left. The gym is always really clean so kudos to the cleaning staff for keeping it sanitary as it's a big gym. The current front desk staff isn't overly friendly; there are rarely if ever any greetings upon entering the facility. The treadmills aren't in the best shape either, they need to get rid of the equipment that isn't working. It's also pretty warm in there, especially on hot days it can be 76-77 degrees, too warm for a gym.

I have been going to LA Fitness for years and although Richfield is my favorite location and close to home there have been some inexcusable problems of late. First, they seemed to have trouble keeping some of the cardio equipment in good repair this past winter (2024-2025). A few times machines were “repaired” for a short time only to break again during use. One day I had to use 4 different treadmills because each of the first 3 died just when I got up to 7.1 mph.

More recently, they have begun sharing space with a swim school that uses the pool area 4 afternoons a week during peak hours. Between the parents lining the pool deck area and kids running amok in the pool area and locker room the situation has become intolerable. Those of us who attend LA fitness count on the fact that our dues pay for our access to the facility’s normal amenities. If the club is going to continue their partnership with this third party they ought to lower the dues for paying members.

I have continued to come to this location now for the last several months. I have never seen it so crowded that I have not been able to access equipment. The staff is STELLAR. It is clean bright and well maintained. I look forward to stopping in when I am in town. And again I have to complement MIKE in memberships. He is very friendly and professional and helpful.

I have been visiting this facility off and on when I am in town. It is bright, clean, and well maintained. There is enough equipment and machines available. The locker room (women's) is also extremely clean and doesn't smell. The staff is amazing and a shout out to Mike in membership for stellar customer service. If you are looking for a conveniently located workout space I would suggest you check it out! I'm looking forward to trying one of the group fitness classes - the class roster is comprehensive

When I signed up for personal training, I told the staff I had a wedding coming up in two months and needed to finish all my sessions within that time. He verbally agreed and said I could use my sessions as needed — without having to pre-pay — just pay monthly. That’s the only reason I signed.

But when I asked to read the contract, he literally said, “You don’t need to read it, I’ll just tell you what it says,” and rushed me through signing. I wasn’t allowed to take my time or fully understand what I was agreeing to. Now, they’re denying everything we talked about and trying to force me to pre-pay or lose the sessions. They won’t help unless I pay more.

It honestly feels like they only cared about getting money from me and never planned to honor the agreement. I’ve already filed a BBB complaint, and I won’t stop until it’s resolved.

Please don’t let them take away your right to read the contract like they did to me. Be careful and make sure everything is in writing before signing anything at this location.

The handful of staff members you see are friendly, but the gym is incredibly crowded. Over time more and more people have started coming while no sign up systems are implemented to help with the traffic. There is no cross fit area available to members (which almost every LA fit location has), the pool is frequently closed, and the basketball court is dangerously crowded. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a gym experience!

Gym was nice when I was there, But good luck trying to cancel your membership. I was assured my membership was ended only to find it had actually been temporarily suspended to begin charging me again months later.

I only went here for about 6 months but recently decided to go elsewhere. My biggest issues are cleanliness, crowding, broken machines, few people actually put the equipment back and no individual spaces for changing.
1. The weight lifting area smells like a dead mouse. I noticed a smell the first few times I went over there and actually spent time looking for a dead critter to tell the staff. I didn't find anything but the smell still persists. It might be in the walls. There is also dust and grime under the benches and barbell/dumbbell stands. Second, the mirrors never get cleaned so you can see hand smudges all over that have been there for weeks.
2. I was told when I joined that they never get that crowded and even during busy times there is always space. Not true. More times than not I have had to change my routine due to everything being used. Which leads me to...
3. There are machines that have been broken for weeks that don't get fixed, particularly the treadmills and stair steppers. When there is a full gym and almost everything is being used having broken down equipment is frustrating.
4. The amount of equipment, that is, mats, dumbbells, barbells, disk weights and anything else, that DOESN'T get put back it insane. There is no enforcement or penalty for not putting equipment back so few people do it. And I don't mean the thing I want to use just isn't there, I mean there are dumbbells and the like just laying around in random spots or random rooms. I'll look for a particular item, see that no one is using it, and need to spend ten minutes going around looking for it.
5. The locker rooms don't have an individual changing space, unless you include the bathroom stalls. Other gyms I have been to have the "bathroom" area and then a separate "changing" area with privacy. Here, you either must go into the not clean bathroom stall or just change in front of others which not everyone is okay with.

I was looking around for a great gym and found LA Fitness is Richfield, MN. This gym is pretty spacious with a lot types of workout machines. This gym also offers a big cardio and bike section, along with a basketball court and more (you need to check it out to see what I’m talking). Additional, it comes with a jacuzzi, sauna so you can enjoy after an intense workout and obviously I can’t forget about the pool as well. MIKE gave me a great tour around the gym and I explained everything to the point. MIKE is a great guy and make sure you ask for him once you get there. THIS IS THE ONE GUYS.

The gym is very clean and the people upfront are very respectful. They work with you in aspects of what you can afford and what good deals are available for you. The Bro helping me guest here was really helpful with knowledge of the place and how I can get started.

Terrible initial experience, cold showers for 3+ weeks and no end in sight. Decent gym area but always pretty full from 7-9pm on week nights.

Sinks are hand sensor so tough to use for shaving or even washing your face. Locker room also not great and sauna has been standing room only 7 of first 8 tries.

Mike was very helpful and thorough while showing me around the gym. I like how the machines are grouped in rows for what they are used for (arms, legs, shoulders, etc). There is a ton of cardio machines, space for lots of activities, and everything is clean. Good vibes. 💯
