Rock climbing gym GymAbout the Club
We are the only bouldering co-op in the Twin Cities metro.
The Minnesota Climbing Co-op is run by psyched volunteers who believe itβs worth putting in some sweat for a gym we can call our own. All proceeds go back into making the Co-op better for everyone who climbs here.

When I listened to Go! My Favorite Sports Team! Explain that rock climbing is the easiest sport to get into, and the community is the nicest and most welcoming, MCC is the shining star of that claim.
I havenβt been climbing since I was a teeny little guy, and Iβve been looking for something to better my general health. I just got the day pass to check it out, and wound up NEEDING to see which routes I can climb to the top (not many) and chatting with the regulars. Everyone is so nice that I somehow ended up doing grueling abs exercises with a group, and having a ton of fun.
Iβm always polite but guarded around strangers, but these folks felt like old friends.
The vibes alone have made a new member.

I have been a member for the past year here and absolutely love it. I used to work nights and its hard to describe the feeling of biking over on a summer night, listening to your own music and having the gym to yourself for hours. Pretty unbeatable. Problems are challenging with lots of variation. Very easy to bring friends along, and the day passes are super affordable compared to competitors. Will be signing up for another year!

Excellent route setting that seems to accurately reflect the difficulty of outdoor climbing and the only gym that allows me to fit climbing into my busy schedule. Thanks to the crew who keep this gym going, this is the kind of place that makes NE a great place to live.

Fun place for bouldering. Friendly people and cheapest place in the cities. Courses are harder here than others, so be warned

This place is the perfect spot for me. Because I work at bars, I have a very odd schedule. I come in to climb around midnight, put on my music and itβs always a great workout, with great routes set. And always clean!
On top of being the only gym that can fit my schedule, itβs also the cheapest, and my favorite one Iβve been to. Very much worth the membership fee!

Very cozy place that makes a lot of sense for climbers who have flexible schedules that needs a central location in thr cities to climb. While there are many other indoor bouldering sites, this one definitely ranks in the highest percentile. Good problem setting, highly efficient use of the space given, great home for any boulderer.

I wandered into the Coop about 5 years ago. At the time, I could barely cross the street on my own so it was a miracle that I found the semi-hidden entrance to the place. I have been a big fan ever since. Itβs true, the coop doesnβt have all the bells and whistles of the bigger, more expensive gyms. Locker rooms? Sorry. Vending machine? Nope. Empty yoga room that nobody uses? Please. A class on How to Cook Spam at the Crag 101? Uh I wish.
What the coop has to offer is a cozy, supportive environment to climb. Off-hours are very quiet if you want to sneaky get strong. Or you can come in during open hours when the place has great vibe with a friendly, welcoming community.

Fantastic setting and a friendly community. Training space is small, but has everything you need to get strong, and is usually not crowded. Definitely my favorite gym in the Twin Cities!

This place has some of the best sets in the Twin Cities. They do so much with the amount of space they have and the staff is wonderful. Plus, the access pass means you can come here any time of day! If you sleep poorly, just come here at three in the morning and bump your own tunes while getting send after send! There are a lot of fantastic new bouldering spots, but the community and the setting here keep me coming back.

The Minnesota Climbing Coop is the best place to climb in the Twin Cities, simply because of the community. The community here is friendly, inclusive and supportive of all climbing abilities. Keep up the great work!

Definitely a personal favorite. I work at one of the other climbing gyms in the cities and appreciate being able to climb in a quieter, more personal space while I'm not at work. It feels like home every time I walk in, and I've gotten significantly stronger climbing here. This is a close-knit community and a good space to make new friends or just do your own thing, depending on how you feel. The setting is solid, and I love that it's a co-op!

This climbing gym has everything I want:
- relatively cheap membership price ($299/year for full time students)
- 24/7 access
- creative setting (although I wish there were more V7s and V8s)
- gymnastics rings
- friendly people
- a lack of screaming children
I love it!!!

People werenβt cool there. Whoever was working was rude and the problems are too smashed together... hard to know what youβre climbing.

The dive bar of climbing gyms. Pro-tip: head to the Climbing Co-op on a Monday to catch a great group of supportive climbers, then head to Fair State Brewing with the group around 8pm.

Amazing place for bouldering and getting your climbing fix on. It's a co-op, so if you're a member you can Boulder here at any hour of the day. Can't sleep? 2:00am? No big deal, go bouldering! Get off work outside 9-5? Or perhaps you work second shift? No big deal! If you're a member you can come and go at any hour.

This is a great place to explore if you're into gym bouldering. Odd hours because if you buy a certain membership, you get 24 hour access. Fairly regular problem changes. Sometimes a little busy, sometimes you have everything to yourself. Some workout equipment is available. Don't forget to turn off the lights if you're the last one out!

Best gym value in the city, by far. A little on the advanced side (V1's can be laughably technical) but that's just about every climbing gym in the US. 24 hour access with an annual membership and a hard-working community that almost has a sense of humor about itself. Not bad, right?

Good facility with some pretty incredible problems to work on. However, open climb became really crowded when my wife and I went to climb. There were some apparent "regulars" who seemed to give us "outsiders" the cold shoulder. TL;DR: go for the challenge, beware of the cliques.

This place is my second home! Best place to train indoors in Minnesota-dare I say the Midwest? Super fun problems ranging from V0-V11ish. Rad climbers with sweet music! Go here if you live in the TC and wanna do some indoor climbing. Screw VE! Oh and no little ones running around beneath you! A great place no matter your skill level!
