The music was way too loud. Fix the volume and playlist and this would be a decent place to get some work in.

Good gym, please turn the music down and put someone else on AUX πŸ€™

Editing to add a few months later: music is still insanely loud. Can’t hear yourself think anywhere in the gym because they’re blaring 2014 pop.

This gym is a lawless wasteland in the best way possible. I saw a woman give birth during a set of squats. She finished out the set and the baby even started spotting her

Been working out here for over a year now. Excellent gym overall. As someone who does a hybrid of powerlifting, body building and cross training, they have all equipment I can ask for. Further, I love how if a machine is not working they address the issues swiftly.

Great gym and location for anyone living downtown. Large space and plenty of equipment so there’s no wait between exercises. Love the amount of free weights. Locker room and bathroom are very clean and well kept.

I had a positive experience here both with the gym and the owner. Sometimes you have to park a little away but other than that it's a great gym. I love how they have a grass bed to sledge. I got overcharged when I discontinued but after talking to Rob, he returned my money back. Great price, location and owner for areas around downtown.

I joined this gym recently. It's been great so far. Low key, no nonsense place to get in a good workout. Get as much or as little support on training and nutrition as you need/want. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic gym, it is easily the best one I have ever had a membership for. There are a wide array of tools to utilize for training, and the facilities are well kept and clean. The owner Rob is a friendly dude who genuinely knows his stuff, you can tell he loves his job. I highly recommend North Loop Fitness to anyone who wants to get in shape or stay fit.

I have tried multiple times and ways to cancel my membership but they will not stop charging me. They also overcharged me for several months and no refund was issued once it was pointed out. There are unknown taxes and fees added and they refuse to give an itemized receipt of payment. Overall this place has really sketchy and I wouldn't recommend them.

North Loop Fitness is a place where you can do traditional fitness, but the attraction for me is the ability to do a variety of functional fitness training. You can always find people engaged in some type of fitness conversation or think-tank. There is no ego training. There are many unconventional things you can do there like flip huge tires outside, climb ropes outside or inside, push sleds on turf, use sledge hammers on tires, etc.. A bunch of us are cross-fit enthusiasts so we'll do those workouts among other things. Also anybody can jump into our group and workout with us. I"m also a martial artist, so I like that there is a muay thai kickboxing bag, things for boxing also, and sticks for filipino martial arts. Many of the group of guys and girls there are awesome, we all encourage and motivate. Plus, I found the pricing is much more reasonable the most cross-fit gyms.

Rob (owner) is always there and very enthusiastic about training. Not your typical corporate fitness center - way better!

NLF is not your average gym. It's not that big and it only has a few cardio machines. It's got a 10 yard wide strip of turf running down the middle of the gym where people push weighted sleds back and forth or run sprints and agility drills. It's got bumper plates and plenty of squat racks for people who like to do squats, deadlifts, and olympic lifts. It's got agility ladders, weight vests, plyo boxes, and all sorts of other stuff you won't find at an average YMCA or Snap Fitness or whatever. If you're looking for a place to do a regular workout with weights and cardio you can definitely do that here but you can also do more fun and functional workouts that you can't do at most other gyms. I work in Eagan and live in Uptown but make the trek to North Loop because it's the closest place I can do the kind of serious athletic training I'm interested in.
