worst customer service I've ever gotten at a planet fitness, waited over 20 mins at the desk and the guy finally strolls out of the back. multiple other people waiting, who just gave up, I understand it's night time, but he was in the back, and I could hear the hydromassage beds running. and then I ask what tanning beds this location has a available, as most planet fitness locations have a mixture of stand-ups lag downs, hybrids, and some have high level beds also.
he said ma'am you're going too far with it, I have stand ups and I have lay downs. in the most condescending tone, just pissed off I dared ask him a question and make him do his job for 1 minute.
disheartening that this is one of the only 24/7 locations. I'll make the drive to St Paul or Roseville next time.

Dustin always keeps the locker rooms clean. I know Planet Fitness advertises how clean they are, but this gym always is when Dustin is working. He also knows his guests by name which shows his care for the community. This gym recently underwent an equipment upgrade so there’s a ton of new stuff!

To be honest I'm not very happy with this specific location the tanning bed I used was broken the massage chairs were like the very first massage chairs ever invented and really sucked didn't even do anything for me I don't think I'll be going back to this location specifically and every single machine that I watched somebody get off of did not get sanitized which isn't on the location that's on the people working out there but either way I've been to probably 4 or 5 different locations and this is the one that has made me not want to go back

Whoa… unexpected and disgusting. I came back to this location after a looong time. Thought things may have changed. Nope, worse. I walked in and the employee on the 5pm shift was on the phone so loudly it echoed the whole gym. I scanned my app she said have fun like she was being interupted. Attitude check.. nope. I’d have sent her packing. Not on my clock would anybody be doing this..I asked to do red light. She did not stop her convo until I stood there without moving to ask again. The red light stand up was broken so badly you couldn’t stand on it properly or it would start grinding and vibrating so awkwardly. It is supposed to be a vibration plate not a ride that’s going to kick you off of itself. Not how it is supposed to vibrate. Trying to position your feet so it won’t make sound is near impossible or painful. I’m not a big person so something is wrong.
Came back out. Scanned again and asked to try tanning. Still on the phone.. I asked which one has the highest intensity or newest bulbs. She said bed 9. Ok let’s do it let’s give this tanning thing a try. The bed is so filthy it hasn’t been wiped down in I don’t even know how long. There is big crust on the top of the bed and the bottom that looks like it’s been cooking for some time now. The handle to pull the lid closed is busted. The mechanics on the bed are busted and hanging loose with wires and tape exposed. Electrical hazard?? The air doesn’t work because the handle is busted and there isn’t any electrical connection on that part I guess, the music is stuck on volume 10(max, it smells like someone peed in there or something. It is just horrible. I cleaned the bed myself and sprayed more cleaner after I was done to air dry on places that needed to soak because that room 9 is a biohazard. No biggie I can clean it up but it should have been ready to go. Anyway.. come back out and she is still on her AirPod convo and still so loud it is echoing through the whole gym. Why she recommended the damaged bed that should be out of commission is beyond me. They should be warning you before you go In that there is no airflow and not a way to change the volume until they pay to fix it or just shut the door and 86 that room till it’s done. I didn’t even want to venture into the locker room to work out. I had seen enough in the first 20 minutes I was there. I’ve never been to any other location that has had so many issues.

I believe PF to be unmatched as a fitness option. Sure peak hours do have less options on some equipment, like everywhere else. NOBODY has as many equipment options as PF!!! BUT there’s SO MANY other options in the place it’s rarely a detractor. Perfect experience in my opinion.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this situation forced me to. I want to warn others to stay away from this place if they don’t want constant headaches and the need to file disputes to cancel transactions. I felt like, by joining their club, I handed over my bank card to a stranger to use however they pleased, because they started charging me almost every day. When I tried to figure out why, they told me they had accidentally linked two accounts to mine, but they never explained why the charges were happening almost daily.

After that visit, things seemed to get back to normal — they were only charging the correct $27. But that didn’t last long, just two months, and then the same thing started all over again. I went there and canceled my membership, but guess what? Even after canceling, they kept charging my card.

So if you’re looking for some drama, you’re more than welcome to try Planet Fitness.

Management is poor, they have driven out the employees that were friendly and helpful. Now anything that they do is sit on their phones. None of the employees are happy to have to work there. For the manager to give direction on how to make sure things are followed, they should follow their own advice, Ally was working and there were FOUR paper towel dispensers EMPTY! How do you expect employees to care when management doesn’t care.

Have been in multiple times in the last week between 9-6 when the manager is supposed to be there, yet she never is. I understand people have vacations and things come up but the employees just say she is supposed to be here yet didn’t come in.
Whoever is working the mornings isn’t very competent on doing the computer and can’t complete simple tasks.

I work out here 5 days a week. The staff is always pleasant. I usually go around 4 or 5 am, I don't think I've ever seen the front desk without staff for more than 5 minutes, which for the time of day I think is super reasonable. There are vagrants in the mall sometimes, but I've never been bothered by them, and I don't think PF has any control over that. It's usually very clean, and most of the regulars are very friendly.

This company uses a clearly illegal set up when it comes to their membership, cancelation, and upgrade policies. They are perfectly fine taking your money at any time in any fashion they see fit however you CAN NOT CANCEL anywhere but in person, and they don't always process that cancelation. They survive relying on being so pointlessly difficult and obstructive to canceling that you will hopefully give up and just let them siphon money from your pocket. That is their profit strategy, they are (The company Planet Fitness) Currently still being sued because of their Cancelation policies being predatory. Place is ok. Like any other planet fitness. The workers especially night shift dont care about anything. I turned in a lost phone and they acted like I was nuisence. Machines are good. Just a place to go in, say nothing, workout, and leave.

Being a senior in my low 60s, I enjoy exercising even though I have had several back surgeries. I have found however that this planet fitness, as well as others, are not very ADA friendly when it comes to their changing rooms and tanning rooms, they have a 4 foot stool to attempt to sit on to dress and undress. To me, this is unacceptable.
How do you get dressed and undressed with this tiny little stool, that's 4 feet high?? BENCHES would be more acceptable and more user friendly. Benches are lower and have a little more space to put your things on, as well as to be able to reach your feet to put your socks and shoes on.
I hope that this review will not fall on deaf ears as I am sure both young and old would like some lower benches in the changing rooms and the tanning rooms. I am surprised you do not have these for people who have some disabilities that still want to exercise.

They will overcharge you and hope you don’t notice and then never give you a refund!!! This gym charged me 5 times in 3 week and when I reached out to figure out why I was told there was no one I could talk to about it. Called back a few days later and talked to someone who said they would talk to their manager and call me back within 30 minutes to get me an answer. It’s been a week and a half and NOTHING. Incredibly disappointing since I’ve been a member for years, I wonder how many other times they’ve taken extra money from me without me noticing 🙄

Have been going to this PF location for the past couple of years. It was very good until recently. New equipment was a nice addition. However, during my last few visits, I have had trouble finding a bench for the Smith machines. Folks were taking them to other areas of the gym and, often, just using them as shelves for phones and water bottles, and to sit on. A couple of times I saw customers use the bench at the Smith machine and then take it with them, leaving the machine without a bench. I have no problem waiting for a bench during busy periods . I do take issue with the increasingly selfish behavior that seems to be on the rise at this PF location. Management should either, buy more benches, or establish and enforce a rule that benches must stay with the Smith machines.

I usually go on Mondays as Burnsville does not open until 5am.I am very disappointed that when the new machines were recently installed that no ARC machines were installed.Although similar to an elliptical the ARC has the advantage for someone like me with bad knees of not putting stress on the knees. I hope that the owners will reconsider and install at least 2 or 3 of the ARC machines.

I'm unable to download the new Planet Fitness app to my phone; Google Play says it's incompatible with my device, even though all my other apps work fine. I've tried to contact customer service multiple times with no response and the gym manager has just informed me that there is no other way to sign in besides having the clerk manually enter my phone number every time I want to use the gym. This is an absurd policy when just a couple of years ago I had a keychain that signed in without needing my phone at all.

I regret joining PF now, and I wouldn't have done so if I knew about these changes. I recommend that anyone with an older phone avoid PF until they fix these problems.

I've visited various locations around the Twin Cities and this is my least favorite one. Here are the things I like and don't like about the Bloomington location.
The good: a good selection of machines, some appear to be new. A lot of natural light coming into the space. The TV channels have a good range of choices including various news stations. The bad: it's dirty-there are always wrappers on the floor and in the parking lot. The locker rooms may initially look clean but you can tell that no effort was put into cleaning them because of the gunk in the corners and not a fresh smell. When I joined, they told me that they clean the hydro beds every 15 minutes. I've never seen an employee in there, let alone clean them. They don't enforce the rules. There hasn't been a time I've been there where there isn't someone in jeans, flip-flops and/or having a phone conversation while working out. Most of the time, the front desk person is sitting in the corner watching something on their phone and not even looking up. I'll still go there to work out when in the areas but it's frustrating that they don't take better care of it like other locations do.

This place is great! I'm newer at this location, and it's been so nice compared to other places. I usually come during dead hours because this place will get PACKED during busy hours. Not super bad, but I just personally don't want to have to wait or change any of my workout plans if its too busy. Soooo much equipment and many many machines to pick from. They recently added some new ones and rearranged the store a tad, and it's great! Lots and lots of value for how cheap the monthly payment is.
Staff here is also pretty chill too. Some of the workers just chill and listen to their music and don't really do too much. I've noticed Kevin, one of the employees that will sometimes work the overnight, is a phenomenal worker! He is constantly checking on trashes and seeing if the cleaning stuff is full. He's always out on the floor or behind the desk helping people or just being there in case someone needs help. A couple of the other employees will just go back and sit in the Black Card area and peek out front every 5-10 minutes, but not Kevin! He is ON it. Super nice guy too. Always greets me with a smile despite it being so dang early/late. I'm sure there are other great people I haven't met yet, but Kevin has made the experience pleasant. Give that guy a raise!

I have called 10 times over the course of three days and have been sent to voicemail almost every time. The one time I finally get a gentleman to answer the phone he talks as if he is annoyed and then breathes deep through the phone when I ask to talk to the manager about an issue I was told can only be solved by a manager. I appreciate his time and say thank you and he hangs up, without saying “Goodbye”, “Your welcome” or anything. My issue is still unresolved and have asked an employee to have the manager call me back now force with my name and call back number and I have received nothing.

I don't go to this location usually. But I really enjoyed the black card membership perks at this location. The only thing I'd change would be to add a bench or chair in the back by the massage tables for those of us who have a tough time putting our shoes on without sitting down.

I didn't get to too much of the equipment this time around because my goal was to complete some stretches and exercises assigned to me by my physical therapist, so that's what I did. I do wish the mats in the stretching area were cleaned better at some point. They were filthy, and no amount of wiping down on my part was going to fix that. The locker rooms were decent; I liked the layout and the lockers themselves.

Overall, my sister and I had a good time, and we'd definitely come back. I'm hoping to have the chance to explore the machines next time!

The staff are great. The issue with this location is the lack of equipment for how many people work out here. They also need signs for the stupid people that sit on their phones while hogging the squat racks. I watched a guy FaceTime his girlfriend for 45 minutes waiting to use one. And the other ones had groups of 4 to 5 people switching off. It’s really easy to put up a sign telling people to be courteous and get through their workout so other people can use the equipment
