(2024) Place is run down. Needs upgraded everything. For the 3rd largest town on MN it's kinda a joke! (2025) And now that you're doing construction for the next month and we can't even do any back cables or core machines or the yellow areas. I feel like us paying customers shouldn't even be charged for this inconvenience for the month. If anything half for being able to use half the gym at any time.

Firstly I have to say that the people who think this gym isn't clean have no idea what a dirty gym is. This place is very clean, but almost everything else about the gym is pretty annoying. They finally got all new equipment, and even got enough of each thing that we're not all fighting to use the same thing.... unfortunately they don't do any maintenance, so all the new smiths and cable machines quickly became unusable with friction or uneven tension. Also for some reason the staff seems to keep moving the smith machines closer and closer to the dumbells, to the point where there's nearly not enough room to use the dumbells without being halfway in one of the smiths. Every time I get someone to help me back the smith machines up so we can use the dumbells, the staff moves them back, yet somehow it takes them 6 months to pump up the deflated yoga balls in the warm up area.

I went to Planet Fitness for the first time in Rochester, MN to exercise for the day and consider a membership. I bought a day pass, but when I went to the locker room, I noticed the showers didn't have any towels or body wash available. I asked the manager if he could provide a refund; he said he couldn't. Instead, he wanted to loan me some of the cleaning towels they use to wipe equipment to use after showering. They had chemicals on them - not okay for wiping one's body with. I asked if I could borrow a bath towel that they have for purchase to use for the day, or to get a refund and then come back next time with my own towel. Neither of those options were acceptable to him. Unprofessional staff, complete waste of time and money.

I travel the country and I'm in a different PF every week. This gym is definitely in the top five I've been in the last year. They have a great assortment of equipment that's in good shape and very well taken care of. My only recommendation would be to get an actual glute lift machine ro take some pressure off the Smith Machines. Keep up the good work

Does not open on time.

Gym is supposed to open at 7 AM. I’m here and it is 7:15 AM with no signs of any staff. There are a few other people that told me this happened previously too and sometimes they don’t open till 7:45 AM….

Pretty nice gym other than the fact that atleast once or twice a week the gym is not open 24 hours as it says. They seem to close down at 6:30pm to 7pm those days and when I want to work out later in the day it can get very frustrating.

I believe Chad Mason is the district manager for this location. I needed to travel for 4 months, and told the staff when I was returning, and would it be all right if I came in when I returned--to either continue or cancel my membership, and the staff assured me that I could cancel when I returned, and I would not be charged any more monthly fees. I canceled upon my return, and still was charged 3 days later. When I contested this, Mr. Mason refused to refund my money, and suggested that I dispute it with my credit card instead. Either the desk staff don't know what they're doing, or the district manager doesn't stand behind his staff. Either option isn't great. Would not go with this location again!

The staff are lazy just sitting on the counters staring at their phones and it’s the dirtiest one I have been to. Most are very clean with very friendly employees that actually seem to be working unlike the Rochester Planet Fitness.

Planet fitness is a very nice place to go to for me since I travel all over the country for my job. I reside in Rochester. The Rochester planet fitness is where I call my “home base”. I’ve been coming in again every so often and notice a group of guys who are always there making more of a ruckus rather than “working out”. They are known as the calisthenics group. They scream, yell, and worry about being a group of men rather than working out. I have Bose noise canceling earbuds and I can hear them over my music that I have up all the way with the hardest music possible. I also go into this planet to see coco (the dog). She always gives me a reason to get up in the morning and come to the gym. I buy treats specifically for her. She makes people smile every-time I come in. I was told that she will not be coming in anymore. I am very disappointed. I always look forward to seeing her and get puppy lovings from her. I do think koko is a great addition to the gym. She’s well treated, she’s a well behaved dog and doesn’t bother people working out. I think she needs to stay so people coming into planet can smile and see the beautiful ladie(dog). One more poorly maintained planet fitness. Too bad because it would be nice if it was properly cleaned. Filthy bathrooms and showers every time. And the amount of dust of the bathroom stall walls and calcium deposits in showers tells me the owner or manager of this facility is not on top of things here or does not care. If just a little more thought and consideration was put in by the lazy uppers to get the lazy employees to do a bit more, it would be a great planet fitness. As writing this, an employee walks in, looks around completely ignorant to all the mess,. Awesome. Good job guys 👍🏻

I'm changing my review. This gym is okay for a cheaper budget gym. However there is no sauna which would be nice to have. Also this is me referring to planet fitness as a company. The home gym thing is a very stupid idea. I signed up for planet fitness in St. Cloud while living in Rochester and it has been a headache trying to get my home gym to Rochester. Not to mention it's very difficult to get out of your contract as well.

I just started going here a few weeks ago. No complaints. The staff is helpful and friendly. They have a 16+ policy to work out. But if you have a younger child or what have you. You can sign a waiver, and they can work out with you. I recommend the "Black Card". You get access to tanning beds, hydro massage, and the massage chairs. Plus, you get access to the red light therapy booth. Annddd, you get discounts on beverages.

The staff is great, always super friendly. The issues are with maintenance, locker doors falling off, the flashing ceiling lights haven’t been fixed for months, and worst of all no toilet paper in the rest room first thing in the morning…WHY? Just the up keep doesn’t show pride in ownership. I hope the lights can be fixed, it makes it very uncomfortable.

The manager is a liar. The other male who works in the mourning is racist towards white people, the never police their rules they only cater to their friends or members they know. My brother inlaw almost was attacked by one of the lunke heads their friends with, said he was out for a week to my wife, and they ended up doing nothing....wow, imagine that. Honestly probably my favorite planet fitness I’ve been to. Even at rush hour (5pm) it doesn’t feel crazy packed (compared to my home PF in Grand Rapids).

Went as a guest, do not have a comparison to other planet fitness locations. Decent place, clean and machines worked as they should. Limited options for free weights and limited weight on dumbbells (70lbs if I recall right). Good place to go for basic fitness but if you are looking to lift heavy the weight limitations would be an issue. Staff was all very friendly.

I come around midnight on weekdays and I give it 5 stars. The night staff is so nice! Malik always had a great attitude with a smile and works super hard to keep the facility clean! He's very welcoming and keeps the vibes good!

Not sure why employees would decide to mop the floor at 5:10 PM during peak times when you go to tan or go to the Hydro bed. The floors are soaking wet who wants to takeoff their shoes and stand in the soaking wet floor. I’m thinking midnight 1 o’clock would be more appropriate. Very disappointed.

It's very clean and I appreciate the enforcement of cleaning the machines when done using them. There is a ton of equipment, lots of multiples, so waiting for a machine has never occurred for me. The free weights area should be set up a little differently, in my opinion, there's not very much room for multiple people to use them. There's a lot of weights but a narrow space. The circuit workout area is a self taught area, you won't get staff assistance. It's a great idea but very easy to annoy others using it if you don't understand anything so I would avoid it if you're not confident. The basic membership is enough if you don't want the extras like tanning, aqua bed, massage chairs, etc. These are hard to use at this location as staff hides, ignores, or makes you feel like you're annoying if you want to use what you pay for. Another tip, if you can, get a tour at a different facility and they're basically the same. I went to Robert Street and they were helpful. I tried for 2 months to get someone to give me a tour at the Rochester location and gave up. If you're 100% self efficient and confident, I'd give 5 stars, but for others unsure of gyms or new to them, 3 stars.

There are a lot of people who go there, I joined because I was excited about meeting people. It is a great place to work out, but not social at all amongst people who are not in your group. People that go there never give eye contact with anyone. So if your intent is to work out and get in shape, 100 percent great place. If your intent is to maybe meet some cool people while your at it, that's probably not going to happen.

My local PF has well maintained, clean, and professional equipment to enjoy a successful workout. The app is easy to use and packed with relevant information if you need guidance on your wellness journey. The thing that impressed me the most is the philosophy of PF, which is on the walls all over the gym. "This is a Judgment Free Zone." This makes the PF environment comfortable for all members no matter what their level of fitness. You come for you no matter your style or fitness level. All are welcome, and when you leave, you leave confident in yourself, which includes being non-judgmental of yourself too!

Was very hard to contact someone to fix my problem which wasn’t fixed. Nowhere does it say that you have to cancel prior to the 10th. Very annoyed with the situation.
