The other day, I was put in a tanning bed that wasn’t even cleaned. Realized this while I was IN the bed and there was hair right near my face. I got out and realized that they put the bottle that says it’s been cleaned on the bed and it was t there when I went in.
This morning I wanted to use the hydrobed and I got attitude when I didn’t know that I had to push a button on the wall. I stepped back after walking away to say something and the employees were making fun of me. 😳 Rude.

Female employee kept pressing the lunk alarm probably around 20 times but was still doing it when I left in a span of 20 minutes. Everyone kept looking around and stopping there workout confused but when you looked at the front desk they were both giggling and laughing causing a scene. Other wise everything was clean and well kept. This was at 5:45pm July 24th.

Never, over 20 years that I've been going indoor tanning have I ever felt so incredibly hot by a tanning bed. I literally walked in and asked the young boy at the desk for a stand up bed and he lied to my face saying they were full. I asked how much longer for BOTH stand up beds to be free and he said 10 minutes. I said ok.. I waited and when I went back, he put me in the stand up bed that had to have been ran at least 5 times back to back with zero time to allow to cool down. Yet I walk into the next room and the stand up was completely cold and hadn't been run in at least and hour or longer. Why he made me wait for a stand up bed that was running dangerously hot, no clue. I walked out dripping sweat with wet hair for the first time in my life in a tanning bed and I wasn't going to waste my Tanning session and get out after a couple minutes. I finished my session but maybe employees need to learn to swap beds and not Overheat beds or customers. Definitely not a safe move for anyone. I guess some people work low end jobs because that's all they can at times maybe comprehend.

NASTY - gym had signs that no paper towels were provided to clean machines after use. Instead, there were supposed to be rags at each cleaning station. When we were there, there was one rag available for the entire gym. Clearly, no one was wiping machines down after use. We won’t be back.

I’ve been going to this Planet Fitness for a while now and genuinely love the vibe here. The environment is relaxed and never intimidating, exactly what I need to stay consistent. Big shoutout to the red light therapy machine, which has become one of my favorite perks. It’s an underrated gem that really helps with recovery and overall wellness. I’ve just recently started training with Tav at the White Bear Lake location, and I can’t say enough good things! He’s incredibly knowledgeable, assertive in the best way, and knows exactly how to push and motivate you while keeping workouts fun and challenging. He’s super social, easy to talk to, and genuinely makes you feel comfortable and confident in the gym.

don’t know if you need to be white for the staff members to acknowledge you or something, but I waited for someone to acknowledge me for 5 minutes to get a hydro bed. two staff members looked at me in the eyes and ignored me the. Plus the manager i’m assuming was also behind the desk which makes three people. meanwhile two (white woman) people walk in and are immediately helped and given hydro beds by the one employee who looked at me and acted as if he couldn’t help me at all. if you can’t talk to everyone who comes up to the desk or are going to act like you can’t give some people the time of day then why even work in a gym or a job where you need to interact with others.

0 star if I can. Gym stated open at 5am but a lot of people sat in the parking lot for many hours because no one was here to open the gym. Edit: Soooo someone decided to open one of the lockers in the womens locker room and steal my coworkers purse (and all the contents) and all the cash in my wallet. This happened a year or so ago now but felt it should be here. I didnt have a lock (pretty stupid on my end) but you should. Make sure to lock up your stuff or put it in the trunk of your car. Dont make my stupid mistake

My frustration with this gym, is getting a printed receipt/statement for reimbursement at work. They struggle with doing this. Today, the lady working the front desk told me they do not provide receipts/statements, printed or emailed. I told her I usually ask for a receipt quarterly and they're able to get me one from the back computer. She then said, the person who does that is not in. I didn't get the receipt, but thankfully, I quit this gym and will not have this struggle anymore. If you're a grown up and can afford a little more, look at other gyms.

I have been doing an all body circuit workout and all my machines are right next to each other making it quick and easy. Plus on the Planet Fitness App it'll let you how busy each gym is. The availability is crap. All other locations in the area are open 24 hours and this is the only one that isn't? They advertise being open 24/5 in their window, but then list the hours 6am-10pm - WHAT?!

Also, they say that in Sundays they open at 6am. It's Sunday, almost 8am, and nobody is here to open! I've been waiting for TWO HOURS!! I tried calling multiple times and can't even get connected to a voicemail. You think there'd be some kind of backup in place if the scheduled staff can't make it in or whatever, but no. Nothing!

I'm usually very mild mannered and understanding and patient (see above), but this is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable! People have lives, and I've just wasted two hours of mine on the poorest service I've ever gotten from a gym.

This gym is the worst. They have some of the most unprofessional staff. I have been to a lot of planet fitness gyms and I have never had someone treat another human being so impolitely. Many body builders do certain leg exercises without shoes on for better support. However, this gym was much less understanding towards someone with a disability. Lifting this way is the only way to prevent further damage to my feet. I also had a pair of shoes to put on between my lifts to respect the policy. The employee didn’t care and still kicked me out of the gym. For being a judgment free zone I’ve never felt so polarized by a gym in my life. I will not be giving my business to a company that treats those that keep them in business so awfully.

The staff is the best part of this place. I have been a member since Day 1 and the desk staff is always friendly and nice and greet you. Cleaning is on point again, it did lag a bit in the past, but now, right back up to top notch standards. That is why I left Experience Fitness, the place was gross. Good selection of equipment and they do listen when there are concerns. The bonus is the hydro-massage units. I would recommend it.

Side note, Alli is the best they have had at the front desk. Super personality.

I have quit this gym for many reasons, but mainly, the staff that was there when I wrote my original review is all gone. The current staff is more interested in their phones over the cleanliness of the gym. Not worth it even with a very cheap price tag. Bathrooms are not cleaned well, rules don't get enforced about wiping down machines or having loud cell phone conversations in the gym area. Was great, now a dump.

Only my second time here and seems like a staff member gets off work and goes workout exactly the same time I show up too. He and his group of friends tend to hog up the swiss machines. They reserve it by leaving all their gear on it and walk around hanging out with their friends elsewhere, then comes back to do 1 set then leaves again. I saw other customers try to come use it but was told by the staff member over and over that the machine was in use (basically reserved). This was going on for over 1 1/2 hrs on 2 of the 3 swiss machines. I understand that it's first come first serve for machines, but you should have the decency and better gym etiquette on using the equipment efficiently knowing others would like to use it also, especially when you are an off duty staff member!

Called today about renewing my Blackcard membership. I was a member of this gym for many years. I had switched, because my girlfriends work provided her a gym membership at another gym. That was not longer available for her. So I was thinking about coming back to Planet fitness as I like it more. I called to ask about if it was possible to renew, but get any of the annual fees waved or anything. Because each time you switch gyms they hit you with sign up fees and things of that nature. The guy who answer seemed completely disinterested in talking to me and was rude. I was going to renew with this gym either way, but changing my mind after speaking to the worker was there on the phone complete bone head with no customer service skills.
This was on February 22, at 1:10 PM and it was a male no name.

It's a gym. Lazy clean. Some staff lazy/rude. But no one really cares. Corners of areas are collecting dust and dirt. Staff monitor you if you sit in your car for some reason. I hadn't had a gym membership for a good while after the YMCA had raised there membership prices to $70 or so per guest. I found those prices ridiculous, and so I had stayed away from gyms for a while, worried they would be the same overpriced number that the Y had offered. There were many times of going onto the freeway after leaving Maplewood or the surrounding area, and I have seen this exact Planet Fitness multiple times, but I had never really thought about seeing how much the monthly membership was, because I had figured it would have been too much, so I never went there until November 2023, and it was the best decision. It is under 20 dollars a month and the gym equipment is really good quality, and everyone at this gym is very nice and respectful, and I love how cheap they have the membership set.
