I attended a Gentle Yin Yoga class here that was truly restorative!

Mats, bolsters, blocks, and blankets are available - as well as hot tea and places to leave personal items. This particular class was all floor work with poses that were accessible and relaxing for beginners and experts alike.

Sherry was gentle and patient with very easygoing energy.

Even though this is the easiest level of yoga available, she still offered supportive adjustments for each move to accommodate different levels of ability.

The space is inside of a commercial office building on the first floor, down the hallway to the right.

There’s plenty of parking and the space itself is absolute zen featuring soft music, hot tea, light scents (I have allergies - no problems), a lovely mural of a willow tree with affirmations painted throughout the leaves, and a gorgeous view overlooking a nature park with a walking path great for a before or after pick me up.

What Jocyln has brought to Otsego and St. Michael is a sanctuary. I never knew that yoga could be a safe space, free from judgement and intimidation until I went to my first session (which was a yin/restorative and sound bath) last May. Until then yoga didn’t seem like it could be “for me: someone who carried extra weight, who didn’t feel comfortable in their body, who felt like it was intended for only pretty people, skinny trophy wives, and gymnasts who could balance on one arm or contort into pretzel shapes. My horrific experiences at gym yoga added to my hesitation.

BOY was I WRONG! What I found was a beautiful space with compassion, love, and welcoming energy. There are no mirrors in the studio. Why?Because yoga isn’t about making the perfect shape—it’s about connecting with your body and learning to tune in to how your body feels and honoring your body where it is—even if that means you spend your class in child’s pose or Savasana—NO JUDGEMENTS!

The freedom from the trap of perfection was not only refreshing, it was empowering! The flow of class, the positive words as a reminder that I am strong/capable/worthy and authenticity of gratitude at the end was exactly what I needed to feel good and to find the “me” who became lost somewhere between being a mom, a wife, and a full-time corporate soldier.

They offer accessible classes for all fitness levels (it can be as challenging or as gentle as you need), instructors offer options or variations in all poses without you ever being singled out, or made to feel uncomfortable. They have mats to borrow, props, blankets, whatever you need—just bring yourself and leave everything else at the door. My personal favorites are the 5:00 am power flow (THE BEST VIEW OF SUNRISE IN OTSEGO!), any regular soul flow class, and the Soul Yoga at the Barre on Saturday (Otsego—seriously amazing workout that concludes with a cold orange-scented towel in savasana).

Willow Soul is truly a diamond in the rough for our area so if you’re feeling low and you need a boost…or if like me, you lost YOU in the grind of life…please come in and try out a class. You will be happy you did!

Joclyn Kilpatrick's Yoga Flow class was peaceful, relaxing, and energizing. The class had a harmonizing balance between calm, inner focus while still giving me the exercise workout that I wanted. I highly recommend Willow Soul Yoga for beginners, intermediate, and advanced yoga practitioners!

Just thought I would share I really love this yoga studio from a cup of tea to sip on during class to the big open windows to look out of instead mirrors which really helps you create a intuitive practice instead of a critical one. All of the instructors are AMAZING and are compassionately welcoming. Each class is very easy to follow along with. They have fun events that help you in you healing journey through this crazy life!

Willow Soul Yoga has a very comfy feel with a great woods view via the large windows in the studio. I've been very happy with the class I've been attending led by Joclyn and intend to check out more of the classes offered there.

The studio is absolutely beautiful! Our 5am class was outside this morning and it was gorgeous! Jocelyn had candles all around, the scenery behind the facility is wonderful and we were able to practice while watching the sun rise. I loved how Jocelyn guides everyone and encourages you to work at whatever level you are comfortable. She shared optional poses which was perfect for where I am at in my practice. Her positive and inspiring words throughout the practice and at the end prepared me to embrace the day. I encourage anyone interested in starting Yoga practice or those that are very advanced to join! I can't say enough great things about this studio. Jocelyn has definitely poured her heart into this sanctuary and I felt it being there.
