Really disappointed in how signing up for this gym was handled. The manager kept telling me extremely long wait times to get something simple completed. I paid for it through insurance, only to be told that they don’t have account with my insurer. But we paid for it so that didn’t make sense. Why is your business enrolled in the insurance program if you don’t have a contract with them? The manager kept asking for a 16 digit code, but as my insurer stated, that code was for their competitor, not them. Because I really liked this gym I was willing to work with them. The manager kept giving me the runaround, saying it would take 6 months to complete some account set up. My insurer even reached out to them to walk them through a simple process. Then after that they said it would take a month to complete the set up. The whole time, I’d have to sign a form each time I came in to work out. If you don’t have a contract or account or whatever with Active & Fit Direct, you need to stop participating in the program. It’s like false advertising. Like that sauna you all say is fully accessible but it’s only available during staffing hours, which was from 8a-8p. All around, this was poor customer service. Because the last time my insurer reached out to them (after several attempts to help complete what supposed to be a simple set up), the manager stated they only accept membership from Silver Sneaker. What?

And that’s the other thing that ticked me off with them. I’ve been going to them for years. But when they changed ownership, the saunas hours became an issue. They told me I had to have a key to get in and it was only accessible from 8-8p then pushed it back to 6-8p.

This gym has great potential, but it desperately needs a cleaning crew. The restrooms are consistently dirty, and when they do mop the floors, there’s always dirty water residue left behind. It’s clear the floors aren’t being properly vacuumed either. The equipment is rarely cleaned, less than half of the ellipticals are in working condition, and there’s only one stairmaster available. The list goes on and on!

I love this gym. Its the first gym I've ever been a member of, but I've been a guest at several. I like that its 24 hours, and the rules are lax. My issue with planet fitness is that they claim to be judgment-free but have a literal alarm to publicly shame people for doing anything they judge as not ok. The other members have all been really cool, and willing to help with whatever you could need help with. There's a genuine culture of comradere at this gym, and I've only had positive experiences with the regulars in the A.M. and P.M. the one review below me complains about the bathrooms in the yard, but when that part of the gym is called "the yard" i don't understand the issue there. As far as wanting the staff to do more, they were hiring a desk person at one point and I asked what the pay was, and that's why the employees aren't going above and beyond as this person may have been expecting. It's understandable if this gym can't afford to pay It's staff what would be reasonable for them to achieve whatever standard that person wants, and that's why my rating is still 5 stars. It is what it is. If it would cost me extra, I'm happy with the way this place is operating now.

Signed up specifically for kickboxing. Showed up for the class and the guy said that’s only at 5:30am. I showed him the confirmation email where I had signed up on the company website and he acted like I was stupid and said “we don’t have that on our website.” I told him I wanted to cancel, he said they will still charge for the enhancement fee and second month. Literally $70 for a gym that I will never use. Vibes were off, every employee stood there and stared at me while I tried to cancel.

Signed my daughter up online for a membership. She went up there to get her card and she said the guy was really rude and not very helpful at all. She thought there would be a tour and she got nothing. He didn’t really want to answer her questions and the questions he didn’t answer weren’t very good answers. She asked if she brings guest what are they eligible to use. She said he made vague hand gestures so she didn’t even get an answer really. Luckily she doesn’t have to talk to staff to work out. Also they need to change it on their website that they are not open 24 hours. She likes to workout early in the morning and they don’t even open until 10am.

Told by staff I was eligible for a discount upon signing up. Discount wasn't applied the first month and asked staff about it again and said they would fix it. Next month the discount still wasn't applied. Also was working out in "The Yard" one night by myself, then someone came in and connected to the bluetooth speaker in the room and blasted their music at full volume without even asking. Went to cancel my subscription on another date and waited 15 minutes at the desk for someone to even show up to assist me. When a staff member finally showed up, they walked right past me and went to mix a supplement drink for another gym member that took several minutes, then spoke to me. Never had good vibes from this gym other than the fact that it's clean. And they advertise all over that it's a 24 hour gym when it isn't.

Large gym, plenty of equipment (although much of it is tired and past well-worn), and it’s rarely crowded. Has tanning, hydro massage, and dry saunas. However, it’s home to the most inconsiderate gym slobs I’ve ever seen; rarely does anyone put equipment away, especially in the “yard.” Equipment and weights are scattered all over the place. There is usually only one staff person present and they almost never leave the front except to empty trash. Workouts take twice as long when you have find scattered equipment. They could do better, just doesn’t seem that important to them.

As some of you know, my husband left a review also. I should’ve done this earlier but I was thinking about it today. A few months ago I was told I could pay in advance for a gift. I know nothing of the gym because I typically don’t go myself. However, my friend and I went up there and I paid 180$ for six month membership. I checked the receipt a few days later in my email (I do electronic everything- billing, etc as it’s easier to keep up with) anyways, I seen where only “one month” was paid for. When I spoke to the manager and owner I was told that I was lying because the man at the counter “would not steal money”. I was supposed to meet with the manager to view the cameras with her ( my mil attended also) and she was not there. I never got a call back. I kept calling and calling and finally got her again. She gave him the six month membership but could not give us our money back (refuses to check camera with us). My husband just stopped going because he did not want to be a part of a gym where employee stealing is not punishable. I do NOT recommend this gym to anyone.

The website says the gym should be open 24/7 on monday. I’m here at 12:30 and there’s an employee in the building and the doors are still locked. Now I get that he’s cleaning but there’s not any signs on the door that say there closed right now. We also gave the employee a call and he proceeded to walk over to the phone and reject it.

Horrible customer service. The "women's area" is basically one worn out row machine and one busted up elliptical and a few free weights. It doesn't matter if you pay a membership or not, you will be run out of that area if they are having a class. Instead of going to the back of the room they have the class in the front of the women's area so you can't get to the (busted up) machines. The older female trainer is EXTREMELY rude. The tanning beds are nasty and probably on get cleaned on the days I use it!! This facility is poorly managed and needs a good cleaning!!!! The only thing I liked about this gym in the infrared sauna. I cancelled my membership yesterday after being yelled at for trying to use the women's area that I paid a monthly membership to use. I truly hope someone buys them out and they put new management in place before that whole place is run down. I'm going to join The Club today!!!!

I have been going here for almost 5 years and I can’t believe I’m having to leave a bad review but there is no reason this facility should be this disgusting. Bathrooms have urine stains all over the toilets(can tell it’s been a long time since they have been cleaned) they also smell of urine. Quit supplying clean towels so sauna is always covered in sweat and who knows how long it’s been cleaned.

I cancelled my membership the day after my September draft. I asked for a refund since I was not going again. I was told they couldn’t refund it. I spoke to the woman manager and she assured me there would be no more drafts. I got another draft in October. I went by and spoke with a young man at the counter and he said they had not stopped the draft after the cancellation. He supposedly fixed that and told me to come back for a refund. Today, my 3rd visit, and I’m told they can’t refund it because it hasn’t been 30 days. Somehow it didn’t get cancelled for an additional 10days! How odd. I have requested a call from the owner which I really don’t expect to receive. Think twice before you join.

Me and my roommate had an ok experience at the gym itself. My main issue is the staff, as we were told our 1 year plan would not auto-renew by 2 different staff members. After moving away I was continued to be charged for several months as they either dodged my emails/phone calls, or lied and said they cancelled it. After a email chain with the manager, and with proof I had attempted to cancel my plan months ago, she still refused to refund all charges. Luckily banks dislike fraudulent businesses, so it was a quick call to the bank. Save your money and time, drive to planet fitness close by. It's cheaper, and better managed.

One of the best gyms in the area! Its a big facility with just about anything you could possibly need. Facilities are clean and the staff are very friendly. If you train strongman, this is without a doubt the best gym in Jackson to train at. They have a yoke, sled, sandbags, and a few other specialty equipment. If you like the old school feel, there is an area in the back called " The Yard". This is a secret gem. Chalk, loud music, heavy weights, all in a closed off area that doesn't disturb the rest of the gym. I cannot recommend this gym enough!

Worst customer service I've experienced at any chain or privately owned fitness establishment. Both the management and the training staff were extremely rude, telling me I wasn't allowed to use my GUEST PRIVILEGES to bring my friends to train with me. Also saying what I could or could not wear, after witnessing several obscene articles of clothing in the past myself. They canceled my membership with no justification, while continuing to let other members use their full membership options. These people don't want you to improve yourself or begin your fitness journey, unless you pay them extra training fees over the top for a "bench press class".
"At the end of the day, this is a business, and we care more about our bottom line, than people using guest passes, and not enrolling for a membership."

When I went there (over a year ago somce) they had the worst smelling locker room with carpet... carpet... which retains moisture like sweat.. smelt horrible! Trashcan in there was full.. most days. Equipment is great and it's huge but why the one star? Because I got a new debit card.. they stopped getting my money so they used a third party to call me 3 times a day with a prerecorded message. Tried to get them to stop but have had no luck. Thanks focus fit for this...

The gym is great but when I went in and informed them that I was going out of state for a few months I was told no problem just come in upon our return and reinstate the membership. While we were out of state I received repeated calls wanting payment for past months. So I called and spoke with someone who was talking with the owner "but would not let me speak directly with them" I was told my hold/suspension was not valid without written cancelation and I had to pay for the past months. I called repeatedly and left messages for a call for the owner or management to please give me a call. Good luck with getting out of the "no contract" agreement. The thing is we really like the gym and would return if it wasn't for their trying to collect money not owed.

Do not buy in to this is a no contract gym. It’s a bait and switch if you want to cancel you get the run around and they report it to your credit. This is a great gym, there is no judgement, just a lot of people who want to be healthy and get stronger. I actually use one if the personal trainers from 180° fitness located I the gym once a week and love it, it keeps me accountable and he is helping me achieve my goals for weight loss and building muscle. I highly recommend it to anyone, they have a new kickboxing class, zumba, fast twitch, boot camps, it really is a great gym experience.
