We did a private pole fitness class for a bachelorette party, and it was absolutely amazing! The instructor created the perfect atmosphere — fun, supportive, and a little spicy, exactly what we were hoping for. None of us had much (or any) experience, but we felt so comfortable and confident the whole time. We laughed, hyped each other up, and even surprised ourselves with what we could do! It was such a fun, empowering way to celebrate, and definitely a highlight of the weekend. Highly recommend for any girls’ trip, party, or just because!

Alchemy Space Pole and Fitness is a Gem in Kansas City, it’s my new happy place. Laura is an amazing teacher and keeps the vibe fun and supportive. The other students are great and I have already made several friends. Everyone comments on how warm and welcoming the vibe is. I was attracted to the studio because I know Laura has a lot of knowledge of fitness, training, and stretching (safely! Which is so important!), and her classes have helped me so much with my mobility….plus the dance classes absolutely magical. It is so fun it is honestly addictive!! Highly recommend.

Definitely my fave home away from home! Even from my first class back in Feb 2024, I felt accepted and at home. I don’t show off my body and I don’t wear heels - flats only! - so trying pole dancing was waaaaaaay out of my comfort zone. I gave the intro class a try, realized I didn’t have to wear the shoes and figured I’d try a bit longer. Now I’m 6 months in, I have updated my wardrobe to include dance clothes, I own 2 pairs of heel shoes, and I installed a pole at home for practice! I share that to say, just give it a try! Laura is a 25+ year pole veteran that has seen it all, will help you navigate your way, and never judge!

I've been pole dancing in the Kansas City area for about two years now and in my enthusiasm, have tried many if not all of the available pole dance studios. I consistently come back to and commit to Alchemy Space for a multitude of reasons.

Whereas other studios might have a more zoomed out or broad curriculum for advancing their students, Laura is incredibly personal and her attention is individualized. She quickly learns her student's level and graciously meets them where they are. This has been a direct reasons in moving my skillset along as fast as it has. Also, Alchemy Space is a gorgeous space that any and all pole dancers want to make sure to record themselves in.

Along with that, Laura's music choice is next level. Whereas it's common for pole dance studios to choose pop-type music, Laura chooses the silkiest, most heart-centered, vibiest music ever.

Her class selection is ideal and Alchemy is the only place I have found that offers Circus Pole (sometimes under other names) that is a class focused on the more aerials arts and athetic angles of pole. Also, her Zensual Flow (again has or may go by other names) it super unique. It's an incredibly sexy, embodied, sensual dance that encourages building the relationship to moving as you feel the music rather than just learning moves.

This studio is a little haven. Laura learns, loves, and prioritizes her students. It's an incredibly safe and nurturing environment for uniquely cultivating an empowered, embodied sense of intuitive and skilled movement.

I met Laura in the pole dance community, and felt like just dropping on here to share a few things about her that I think you should know about.

I work in the health and wellness field, so I attend a lot of workshops, seminars, masterminds, and training events, so I come across a lot of people.

When I met Laura, I immediately could sense her passion for helping people. Most people don't invest the amount of time and energy she has in developing her craft, ensuring injury prevention, and becoming an exceptional instructor, so what immediately impressed me about Laura is her commitment to being an expert in the crucial things in and adjacent to pole dance, and really show up for people with a super well-rounded approach.

Most times you have to learn pole dance from a bunch of different instructors, "trying all these things" to learn how to express yourself without injury, and this is where I see a lot of people wasting time (and even more valuable: their injury-free body) "trying stuff."

What I've learned from investing in my health is that it's important to find an expert who embodies a healthy expression of the art I’m learning, and I can’t think of a better studio than Laura’s for this.

If you're considering getting started at Alchemy Space, I just know that you will be looked after, and plus you'll be blown away at how quickly things will evolve as a dancer. I know that she doesn't always have space in her classes, but it's worth checking the schedule to see if you can snatch a spot in an intro class. Much love! 🚀

I had an amazing experience at Alchemy for my first ever pole class. I’ve wanted to try it for so long and finally stopped putting it off. I was worried about feeling awkward or not being strong enough to do anything but I was so wrong! Laura is a wonderful teacher and everyone was able to keep up with the instruction. Also worth noting- if you’re worried about looking silly, DONT. The environment is so welcoming + empowering. I went to a free intro to pole dancing class to find out if this would be a kind of fitness style I would be into. I was completely blown away with how easily Laura taught the entire group a simple dance that utilized the pole while also making everyone feel confident. She did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable doing something I have never tried before. Laura answered any and all questions making sure everyone felt validated and satisfied with the answer. After several quick rehearsals we all felt good enough to perform ourselves. We all nailed our performances and I couldn’t believe how efficiently and effectively I learned my first dance. Alchemy Space Pole is by far the best pole studio I have ever practiced at. Not only does Laura do a phenomenal job of offering a variety of genres and levels of classes. But she takes the time to really breakdown the essence of pole technique, attention to detail, and expression of body. Pole is not only one of the BEST physical, full body workouts. I was so relieved to find this place. It is such a gem! The vibe is awesome and Laura is a great instructor. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend this studio if you've been debating trying pole but have been nervous or hesitant. And for those who are more experienced, her poles are all standard x poles with static and spin. And the classes are actually structured with new things being taught all the time. I love my classes at Alchemy Space. I had never taken pole classes before and these are really fun for me. I am a mom in my 40s, and I look forward to my classes every week. Alchemy is an amazing pole studio conveniently located in the KC River Market area. There's always something new to learn in all the classes whether you're a beginner pole dancer or have experience.
