I have been going to this gym for around six months now. The equipment is high quality and a good atmosphere for any gym goer.
As of lately, the facility gets unbearably hot, regardless of whether it is busy or not. There is only a few ceiling fans with no air conditioning, making it extremely uncomfortable to workout in. It is not even June yet and I am losing faith that the owner will ever turn on or install an air conditioner.

Honestly the gym is over hyped and over priced.

The owner is too busy being worried about gossiping with gym guests about other gym guests to actually fix anything.

Broken clock, trashy paper towels, half the machines look to be from a prison, cramped and over stuffed with stuff, the toilets in the men’s bathroom are all busted and disgusting, the sauna is down half the time, and I could keep going. If I wasn’t forced to have a year membership by Jon’s contract I’d cancel. Don’t bother signing up here. He also lied to everyone, he used to give out rewards points where you could get a shirt or towel and what not, to which he does not deliver. I was supposed to get a towel months ago. He said he would get it to me, never happened, and now the points all disappeared. He’s a liar.

Again by the way, Jon or whatever his name is, is too busy spreading gossip about gym guests to fix any of the problems in his gym. Your main gym clock being 20 minutes off for the last 6 months is hilarious considering you freak out over someone leaving a single plate on a machine or not flushing a toilet (which btw are supposed to flush on their own. I shouldn’t have to use my hand to cover a piss soaked sensor because you are too cheap to buy new ones that work or just have a handle.)

I accidentally drove by this gym. Ive been a member to other local gyms. Crunch doesnt allow cash or paid in full. Anytime is expensive and small but good. Planet is morally corrupt. This gym is owned by a Fitness Nerd and I say that nicely. I walked in, no appointment and received a grand tour. The owner himself demo’d almost every machine I expressed interest in. I laughed at his 90-degree leg press and he showed me why it was safe and how to use it and how it could potential benefit my ailing knee. The guy was awesome. The gym has unique machines and movements. The floors are clean; I saw them walk the floor with a backpack-vac. Everything is taken seriously here. It’s a gym for people that care about their bodies and level of fitness they can achieve. The 150lb dumbbells are signed by lifters that achieved their goals. Hell of a place.

Almost every time I’m in there I see the owner fixing and maintaining his equipment because he cares. He is genuinely a great guy, After almost a year, I came back into the gym, and he remembered who I was and even my name. Body refinery has some of the best gym equipment in Columbia. The only thing I would change is the music that’s played, unfortunately, it’s remixes of songs like Crunch does but if you listen to your own music, it’s not a problem.

I've been in dozens of gyms over the years and Body Refinery Gym is my home! They maintain top notch equipment, it's always clean, it's spacious and yet not too big! The atmosphere is one if the best I've ever belonged to. They have members ranging from people in their 80s to professional bodybuilders and everybody in between of all stages of fitness.

By far the best gym in Columbia. I was a member for my 4 years at mizzou and it was a great pick. A ton of awesome unique equipment you won’t find anywhere else. The owner and staff was always so nice and helped out a ton with questions regarding memberships. Is this place getting fake reviews or something? They are charging 75$ a month for a very mid gym. I was paying 70$ a month in my home town and they literally had a in-door swimming pool, indoor basketball court, inside track, outside track, lots of machines/free weights, treadmills with TV’s, etc. I’m so confused on why it’s 75$ a month….???? Gym is probably a 3.5/5 star gym but the cost just doesn’t make any sense. It’s like going to a restaurant and paying 100$ a plate but the food is just… okay…. Like it’s not bad.. was actually pretty good but for 100$ a plate…. Come on

Really nice gym, clean good equipment. The only problem it has is that the environment is some what unfriendly and cold. I have heard many people who go to the gym say they feel like outsiders when walking into the gym. When staff is present they do not enter act with the customer. It feels like you are at a college library not a gym. Lastly they do not participate with the the Missouri Wellness Program which is pathetic. This state program pays gym memberships for those who qualify due to illness, financial restrictions, or disability.

Very dedicated to ensuring members are the only ones who train here. Decent spread of equipment from barbells to bodybuilding equipment, and the facility is very well kept (a must for me). Very nice spot to train overall.

It's 24 hours, there's a sauna in the locker room, showers, and plenty of lockers. There's a turf strip and a power sled, and a great variety of cardio, weight machines, and free weights.

I absolutely love this gym! They have all the equipment you could possibly need, and seem to always be adding more. They offer lots of fun group fitness classes too! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the building is always very clean. The bathrooms and locker rooms are spacious and clean as well. I went over to Body Refinery earlier this week to check it out and get some more information on membership options. The facility itself is nice, clean, and has a good variety of equipment there. Unfortunately, that was where my positive experience ended. I walked up to the front desk and asked to look around the gym and get more info on memberships.The man at the front desk who assisted me stereotyped that I was a female and spent an extensive amount of time discussing the various group fitness and yoga classes they had, along with spending too much time showing me around the cardio room/ group fitness studios. When he finally took me in to the weight room, he quickly walked through the area and spoke with his back facing me the entire time. He did not seem interested in showing me around that portion of the gym at all. As we arrived back to the front desk, he ONCE AGAIN brought up group fitness classes with me. At this point, I kindly mentioned to him that I am not there to do group fitness, and that the whole reason I wanted to join BRG was for the strength equipment. I lift several days a week, and was very offended that this man assumed by my stature and overall appearance that I only wanted to do group classes or cardio. What amazed me even more is that he never asked me once what my goals were, or why I was interested in their gym. I have never gone somewhere that did not ask me what brought me there, then catered my tour to my goals. I also have never walked out of a gym feeling so disrespected and in shock of an experience I had. After the experience I had earlier this week, I am going to take my money elsewhere to a gym that respects all members more than that.

I HIGHLY recommend BRG. The staff is so professional, the facilities are second to none, and the 24 access has been clutch for me.

I also cannot recommend highly enough, the childcare. I have been to other places in town where the childcare is an after thought -- and my kids beg to go to BRG, we have literally gone there because my kids won't leave me alone about it:) They have so much fun, make crafts, play and make friends every time. It is so above and beyond typical gym childcare.

If you are thinking about the team training, please try it. I have been so impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the workout I get in one hour. They are super attentive and supportive, and the workout is different every time. Personally, I love the focus on cardio:)

If you are even considering BRG, PLEASE give it a try. You won't understand until you see it for yourself and I have never heard of someone who wasn't impressed.

Big space with lots of equipment and a good amount of classes. They also have a childcare center so you can workout and bring your children. If there is one drawback it is that there may be too much equipment and not enough open space so you can feel a little cramped. They have lockers and showers too.
