The best gym!
I was a member for about a year and a half before leaving and trying a cheaper big box gym—mistake (I never went...). I ended up coming back a year later and couldn’t be happier. The owner, John, really motivates you and keeps you accountable.
Working out has never been at the top of my favorites list, but the supportive, small-gym atmosphere makes a difference. No matter your fitness level, you’ll feel comfortable and never judged (I started out not knowing much of anything!). The other members are all great, and having a trainer always on site makes it so much easier to show up and stay consistent.

I don’t know where to start with this one. In early September I was searching for a workout class with this style of training. This seemed like the best option for me so I tried it. I emailed inquiring about the program & was texted back on my cell almost immediately by the owner, John. He answered all my 20 million questions without hesitation. A week after trying this out I joined. I LOVED it. A few weeks after this i suffered a back injury & had to have a spinal surgery. Before my surgery, John modified workouts so that I was able to do them. After surgery & during recovery, John texted me frequently to ask how I was doing & make sure I was ok / ask if i needed anything. When I came back to the gym, we took everything slow and he was very accommodating, and still modifiers my workouts to my comfort level. John holds me accountable, encourages me, believes in me & genuinely cares. This isn’t even half of the positive things I can say about BOF, but you get the idea. It is affordable, and there are several different class times throughout the day. It’s simple to reserve / cancel classes according to my busy schedule. I definitely made the right choice in choosing this gym, as well as a life long friend.

I’ve been a member of Breakout Fitness for three years and cannot give it a higher recommendation. I’ve always belonged to a gym; from inexpensive Planet Fitness to expensive personal training at Lifetime Fitness because I was ready for more but too intimidated to navigate that gym on my own and Breakout Fitness blows them all out of the water. Breakout Fitness is personal training at a fraction of the cost, welcoming, encouraging and delivers actual results. This gym has members at every fitness level imaginable, teaches you real form/technique and has you leaving on a high. I’m really proud to belong here and happy I chose a gym with workouts designed for me with genuine people and trainers that understand fitness and strength.

I’ve tried several gyms in the area, from smaller boutique settings to big-box chains, but after a couple of months at Breakout Fitness, I can confidently say I’ve found my home gym. From the moment I walked in, John made me feel like I truly belonged. His genuine commitment to helping each person reach their individual goals sets this gym apart. The workouts are varied and challenging every day, and in just a short time, I’m already noticing a real improvement in my muscle tone. Best thing I’ve done for myself in a long time is join this gym. I joined in June after not working out for years and was intimidated by the idea of group training but it’s not what I feared. Everyone is supportive, John is encouraging and offers modifications if you need them. I’m feeling stronger and healthier every day! Also it’s mostly individual workouts, just in a group setting. Which I prefer.

I had dabbled in strength training before, but never really been a gym girl. I decided to try out Breakout Fitness during a promotion, but in the back of my mind, was pretty sure I wasn't going to stay long-term at first.
Fast-forward to 7 months later of the most consistent workout routine I've ever stuck to, and kind of now considering myself a gym girl!
Reasons I love it:
1. Classes are offered throughout the entire day, so I can't ever have an excuse that I can't make it happen. It is true that the more you work out, the more you want to work out -- I find myself going to the gym WAY more frequently than I ever imagined.
2. Workouts are dynamic and fun and unpredictable -- I do not get bored.
3. I feel encouraged and coached, but not pushed to, for instance, use more weight than I'm ready for. John, the owner, really is a gem and makes working out enjoyable.
4. I can walk there from my home!
5. I am able to see the gains I am making through use of the InBody, which is included in my membership fee, which is incredibly affordable for unlimited classes!

Breakout is a very welcoming gym. I definitely felt like part of the family from the first visit. The owner, John takes the time to learn your personal fitness goals, strengths and weaknesses. You have a trainer for the group, but they will help you tweak any exercise needed for you to get the most out of your workout session.

After my previous gym closed in 2020 I spent a year working out at home. When I started looking again for a new gym I visited so many places. I knew as soon as I visited Breakout Fitness that I had found my new gym home!

I joined Breakout Fitness in January of 2019 and have an amazing experience. I’m not big on working out, but wanted to get in shape. I wanted a gym that could tell me how to eat, but not have to starve myself or spend an insane amount on groceries to make the meals. I wanted to be showed what workouts to do and how to use the correct form when doing them. This is exactly what I got from Breakout fitness. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone. John the owner has always been great at motivating me to push myself harder and doesn’t make me feel bad when I don’t get in to workout for weeks at a time. I always feel welcome here when I come in and the atmosphere with everyone working out together pushes me to work out harder.

Breakout has a ton of class times to accommodate with your schedule. Breakout Fitness is a great gym. Clients come in all ages, shapes and sizes and classes can be modified depending on your fitness level. It is a welcoming environment and each class is different to keep it interesting. The prices are a good value. I'd highly recommend this gym.

Been a member for years. Very chill, not at all like the big box gyms. Lots of custom options, lots of straight up normal people and trainers who actually care about you and your progress. As a big person, I’ve never felt judged and it’s nice to see people with so many varied body types in the other members and trainers, it’s not a one size fits all approach and that does wonders for your self esteem!

It’s so hard to find anywhere, let alone a gym, with genuine and such kind people. This gym literally is for EVERYONE. The trainers work with you to go at YOUR pace but also help coach you to achieve whatever goals you have. Best membership fees I’ve found in stl that include a trainer too!!

Breakout Fitness has been the best thing to come into my life in a long time! I was on the verge of depression and had no motivation to work on myself. I saw an ad on FB and on a whim set up a consultation. And I never left! John, Kelly, Brittany and all the members make working out and being healthy fun and challenging! RUN don't walk to Breakout Fitness!! I promise you won't regret it! If you need help with workouts or nutrition they have it all! If you have never known what to do in the gym this is the place for you!
Breakout Fitness Training Studio has changed my life in so many positive even after I moved to a different state! I was dragged to the first consultation by my roommate and we both had the mind set that we weren't gonna sign up that day, but we would hear what John had to say....well sure enough we left there signed up for the first 6 week challenge motivated as ever!! During the 6 week challenge I lost 17 lbs and many more have lost just as much or more than me with Breakout! There is just is just a vibe when you go to Breakout that makes you wanna take the jump into a healthier lifestyle. I never felt intimidated to go there and everyone around you is motivating you and helping each other conquer their goals! John, Kelly, and Britney are always there to help you if you need some extra motivation and will make sure you are staying on top of your goals especially if they haven't seen you in awhile! Kelly still checks in on me and I don't even live in St. Louis anymore! So go check them out NOW!!

The opposite of a "typical" gym setting.. small groups, no judgement and the BEST trainers! I have know the trainer there, Kelly more than most of my life. Her passion to help those around her succeed and to have been through the pain, sweat and tears herself, allows her to understand ones path ahead and also the path you're currently on. In addition to awesome workouts, friendly atmosphere, amazing music, gym is open 7 days a week with workouts on Friday at 7:00 pm!!!! Seriously, have you ever found a gym that offers a class on Friday at 7:00 pm? Not me, and I have looked!!! This is working mom's dream!!
