My daughter tried out Elements with a friend one day and came back LOVING it. She started tumbling the next week. Previously, we’d tried a bigger gymnastics place but because they didn’t test her at the start, she was put in a lower level and not challenged. It was somewhat discouraging and she felt overlooked.
We had a completely different experience at Elements. At her first tumbling session, she came home talking about how much the instructor worked with her and each of the students at their own skill level. In 7 months, she was able to nail down multiple skills that she hadn’t done previously.
The owner of the studio communicated regularly, we always knew what was going on.
At the end of year recital, we were glad to see all of their costumes were beautiful and age appropriate (and the theme had an encouraging message for all of the dancers). She wants to try even more classes in the fall.

This was my son’s very first time trying any kind of dance, and he jumped into tap at Elements Dance Academy with a lot of enthusiasm and zero tap experience. It was awesome. The owner, Megan, is incredibly sweet and welcoming. The instructors are amazing with the kids and know how to make it fun while still teaching real skills.

The front desk superstar on Mondays and Tuesdays is an absolute gem. She’s always friendly, helpful, and somehow stays calm even when things are busy. The whole studio feels encouraging and kid-friendly, which made it a great first experience for us.

Also, very important bonus points for location. There’s a Pizza Hut right next door and a Mexican restaurant just down the strip. Dance class and dinner, all in one stop.

We have been at Elements almost 6 months now and it has been an answer to prayer. I was starting to get really discouraged about finding a studio for my 11-year old beginner where she wouldn't feel overwhelmed or behind. She had a negative experience at our local studio over the Summer so I was worried that this was going to keep happening. We tried a free class at Elements and we were welcomed as we walked through the door. Her teacher Angela is beyond sweet and you can just tell she loves the kids and doing this job. The owner, Megan is always around, teaching classes and talking to everybody and she knew/remembered our names right away. Then during the class, I saw my daughter up on the TV screen in the lobby dancing around the room and having so much fun, and I knew it was the place for us! I love that the approach is not competitive but more for fun and character-building, and that there is room for the kids to have creative freedom in their dancing. Megan is the most self-less instructor — she is truly there for the best interests of the students and to teach them creative movement. To give some background, I have danced since I was 4 years old, danced competitively in my hometown dance studio, danced on my college dance team, became captain and taught studio dance lessons/competition choreography after that. I was lucky enough to assist with Elements’ first dance recital (and will hopefully help out for all the rest of them!).

Out of all the recitals was I was a part of, the Elements recital showed me something I hadn’t seen in a long time. The students faces after performing were beaming — they held themselves higher, and walked with such purpose and accomplishment. It was so incredible to watch and I told Megan I would be back year after year just to see those faces shine like that again. The amount of confidence every student had after performing was incredible and inspiring.

If you have a child or children who crave creative expression, or are independent, or thrive in a team-work atmosphere, or need an activity to be involved in, I highly recommend Elements. This studio does not pressure students or families and truly believes every student is capable of growing and should grow at their own pace. Dance and choreography basics are held to a high standard, and your student will be a better dancer after taking lessons at Elements.

I could keep typing positive things about Elements studio until my fingers bled, so I will spare those who have read this far already! This studio has brought so much “community” to Platte City and has completely revitalized my love for dance again.

My 10 yr old daughter attended both the Hip-Hop and Musical Theatre Dance camps last week. She really loved the variety of activities Megan provided every day. They did crafts, water games, dance routines, skits, in addition to learning about the background and key elements of dance and theatre. It is clear that Megan (instructor and owner) has many years of experience with dance and teaching. Not only does she have an incredible amount of dance knowledge, but she is positive and truly cares about every one of her students. I highly recommend this studio for any person of any age that not only wants to dance, but have loads of fun while doing so. - Angela H.

We attended the toddler class today and it was so much fun! My little one is 1 years old and she absolutely loved the music and movements. We had so much fun that Violet took a two hour nap when we got home from class! If you are looking for a fun class for both mom and toddler, this is it! You will have some amazing bonding time with your little one and you might get a two hour nap afterwards as well! :) We are definitely going back!

My daughter goes to dance here and we are so thankful to have her in this program. Megan is the best teacher and is knowledgeable in all types of dance. They made their studio so inviting with the new decor and also sell Elements dance apparel. Couldn’t be happier with them and hope my daughter goes there for years to come.

Elements Dance Academy is phenomenal. The owners, Megan and Bruce are truly wonderful and caring. For Megan, this studio and teaching dance isn't just a job...it's her passion. She has impacted my daughter's life and taught her a true love for dance (especially ballet). But she doesn't just teach dance. My 8 year old daughter has absolutely loved taking private lessons with Megan. My daughter has Down syndrome and Megan is so patient and has done an amazing job of working with her and helping her with her body movement and learning dance basics. She has learned ballet positions, creative movement, body awareness and more. I really think her time with Megan has helped her development and even more important she is developing a love for dance. We are excited for her to start group classes this summer at EDA!

I am beyond privileged to have had Mrs. Megan Adams as my dance teacher/ instructor, dance department director and my mentor. Being apart of the San Luis High School Dance Department for four years with having Mrs. Megan Adams as my dance teacher made a significant impact in my life. Under her instruction for a year, I instantly noticed an improvement on my dance technique, flexibility, endurance, strength and integrity as a dancer. She highlights both the weaknesses and strengths of the dancer and coordinates how to improve the student in all aspects.

Mrs. Megan Adams not only helped instill self-confidence in my movement, however, as an individual in a whole. I became the Student Director of the Dance Department for two of my years there under her supervision. She truly challenged my creativity, social skills, leadership skills, and my critical thinking skills. I choreographed dances that consisted of over 230 dancer, group dances, and solo dances with the guidance of her knowledgeable critiques. These assets that she guided in me truly transcending not only in the execution of my movement, however, in everything that consisted in my daily life.

I now attend the University of Arizona and furthered my education in dance due to her support. Under the prestigious dance program of the "U of A", I have participated in Jazz, Western-African, and Modern Dance classes. In every class, I have been commended for my creativity and diverse dance knowledge, which I refer to Mrs. Megan Adams for allowing this in me.

Furthermore, because of the integrity as a dancer and individual that she has mentored us with, I am happy to say that she is a major influencer towards my interest of Exercise Physiology and my path of attending Medical School. She taught the importance of one's physical anatomy and how that correlates to each movement that the dancer does. Also, we covered the diverse pathways that a dancer can take towards their future careers.

Having 100's of students under the years of her instruction, Mrs. Megan Adams has worked with parents well in meeting the needs of the dancer.

Mrs. Adams implements more than expected while teaching dance. She is not only EXTREMELY knowledgable in this art but she always finds a way to teach dancers to think abstractly, away from a cookie-cutter standpoint, and truly releases your inner-creativity.

Ms. Adams is very professional and friendly. My girls adore her! She will not just teach the basics and is open for every level dancer (including me as a beginner at 45!) She believes in molding every child's individual talents. I highly recommend her school for all your dance needs.
