I can’t say enough good things about Max, my Pilates instructor! Max strikes the perfect balance between motivating you to reach your goals and knowing when to ease up — every session feels empowering, not overwhelming. What really sets him apart is how approachable and kind he is. As someone in a larger body, I’ve sometimes felt self-conscious in fitness spaces, but he creates such a comfortable, judgment-free environment that I actually look forward to class.
He offers corrections with so much humility and understanding, making sure you feel supported rather than criticized. And the results speak for themselves — I’m toning and strengthening in ways no other exercise routine has ever accomplished for me. His classes are truly transformative, both physically and mentally!

I highly recommend incorporating pilates into your life and there is no better studio than Freeman Pilates. My husband and I started frequenting the studio 5+ years ago. He had excruciating back pain. He tried a chiropractor and PT but working with Emily Freeman is what ultimately led to relief. I no longer go to the chiropractor thanks to the strength I've built and knowledge I've gained from pilates. I have more mobility, strength, and flexibility and as a result I no longer have aches and pains. I feel both challenged and restored after class. The studio is welcoming and has a "pilates is for everyone" approach. In addition to Emily F, I regularly take classes with Emily M, Max, and Ellen. Truly, I cannot recommend pilates and this studio enough!

I had a plan to try out several Pilates studios to find the right fit for me, but I stopped after my first class at Freeman Pilates. Maybe it’s the fact that the studio is dripping with beautiful plants in every corner, on the walls, draping over the ceiling–or maybe it’s the great instructors and the results I’ve seen, but I’m hooked.
As a powerlifter, I’ve always looked at Pilates negatively - something that is for people who don’t love doing what I do: lifting heavy.
I had a hysterectomy in 2021 and haven’t felt in my body ever since. I immediately resumed strength training once I was cleared post-surgery, but I’ve not been able to lift the same numbers. My body didn’t connect the way it used to. Before the hysterectomy, I had several abdominal surgeries, so I’ve fought my way back many times; this time was different. I had tried EVERYTHING. Literally everything. Then, I caved and tried Pilates. I did a 1:1 with Emily and she helped me activate my core using cues I’d never tried before.
My numbers immediately shot up. I’m back to lifting weights that I should be able to and it took less than a dozen classes. I love Pilates. It helps me gain mobility and stability, and I leave every class with more energy than I had when I walked in. I'm a very active person; lifting, jiu jitsu, yoga, and now, pilates. Whether you're a newbie or someone who is comfortable in a gym setting, pilates should be added to your workout/movement routine. I have drank the koolaid.

I am in town visiting and looked for an independent studio close to where I'm staying, So pleased that I chose this one! The studio is lovely and well equipped and the teacher, Crissy, was great. The studio where I practice at home needs to seriously upgrade! I plan to go there as often as I can when I'm in town and try different classes/teachers.

Max Mayerle is a godsend. His MELT technique drastically reduced my joint pain and I’ve never been more flexible in my life. Would definitely recommend.

The studio is gorgeous and clean. I've had classes with several different instructors and each is informed, friendly, and fun. I've found just the right challenge with the athletic classes offered. Highly recommend this studio.

Emily is awesome. She takes the time to address individual needs. Her instructions are clear. I appreciate how great I feel after a session, but I also find that I'm more mindful of my movements and posture in general for days after a session. I can't recommend this studio enough.

From the website: “The studio follows a 24 hour cancellation policy for all private sessions, semi-private sessions, and classes. If you do not cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged the full cost of your reserved service.” This policy seems to apply to students, but not instructors. Instructors can cancel with 8 hours notice — twice in 5 days. Hopefully students are allowed to cancel on the day of class if they have a cold, too.

Listen, I don't do pilates. I have tried it, and it is not a match for my body and the style of movement I enjoy.
BUT.
I would work with Emily Freeman every single day if I could. What she does is different, beyond anything you've ever experienced. It is not just pilates, not even a little bit. She combines all of her knowledge in multiple methods for a truly unique experience. She is gifted beyond any health and fitness professional I have ever worked with, and it's in a way that will change how you move, change how you feel, take away your pain.
I went in to see Emily with low back pain that had become so crippling, even my ridiculously high pain tolerance wasn't able to handle it anymore. I had tried massage and chiropractics to no avail. She took the time, attention, and care to listen to my story, and then she invested as much time, attention, and care, into finding the roots of my pain, then trying many different things to change it. I walked out feeling like a completely new person. My joints were actually moving! And yes, she gave me "homework," but it's stuff that takes me 3 minutes a few times a week and actually works to keep me out of pain. Emily is conscious of the fact that we're all busy and want to get on with our lives and not do silly rehab exercises all day.
The combination of education and practice that Emily has is unmatched by anyone else in St. Louis. Not only is her studio comfortable, beautiful, and convenient, stocked with the best equipment available - Emily herself is a beautiful soul who truly cares about her clients. I can't recommend her enough!
