After years of fear in the gym due to chronic knee issues I found a place and people who safely push me to work hard. I have seen more progress with less pain than ever before. Add in that it is the most diverse space in KC I've ever experienced and I knew this was the place for me. I absolutely love Freight House Fitness. It is hands-down the best gym in town. All the sessions are only 30 minutes, but on top of that you will get the best training and the best coaching there is to offer. The coaches and trainers are so knowledgeable. They will correct you on your form and also teach you what progressive overloading is you will have all the knowledge you need to be successful in your fitness journey and they also have a nutritionist on site where you can pay and get a meal plan that is personalized to you. I recommend everyone to try a session at Freight House fitness they offer 21 days for $21 to jumpstart your fitness journey and I promise you you will not regret it

This might be the chillest gym around, and I've been to a range in different cities. No egos, no exclusivity. Just easy going folks in for the same reason you are with coaches that are here to motivate you.

Don't let the 30 minute time slots fool you. The workouts are effective and you will be feeling it later on in the day. My previous gym membership was 5 years long, but I mainly attended larger 1-hr long group classes. So, while I was familiar with the movements programmed here, there were times I needed to ask for clarification. The coaches are also there to make sure you're doing things with correct form, so no sweat if you get an interruption on your set. It's done with your safety in mind.

I signed up for the 21 day trial thinking I could go everyday, and was mistaken. Regardless, I did my best to hit 4-5 days/week and knew part way through the trial I'd be signing up for a membership. On that point, I appreciate the level of memberships available. You can do whatever works for your budget, and if you want to knock out and commit to 6 months or a year upfront, that's an option, too. Not to mention, it ends up being slightly less/month that way.

They've got the most diverse set of members, too. I find it inspiring to be working out along side people 10-20+ years older than me as it shows commitment to health and wellness of the community. Literally, all are welcome here. So don't be afraid to come take an intro class or do the 21 day trial (aka the best fitness intro deal in town).

The energy in this gym is absolutely contagious! Whether you’re looking to build strength or just maintain overall fitness, this is the perfect place to do it. I love that they offer multiple classes throughout the day—finding a time that fits my schedule is always easy.

Freight, jumping in after seeing a response to my sister's review, in regard to a situation that happened over a year ago that you have just now decided to respond to (which is fitting)-Noelle tried to reach out multiple times when she kept getting charged and she was not receiving a response from you, when she finally did you denied her being charged until we sent unsolicited screen shots (to get it refunded) as a last resort. At the end of the day we shouldn't have to defend this because it was an error in YOUR system. This error was made worse by your lack of response (this took months not hours-- stop with the dishonesty) and was the reason she asked me to jump in in the first place. Your responses were unprofessional and you continuously deflected accountability (just like in your most recent post) this is why I parted ways with your gym after having been a member for about 3 years. I remember this like it was yesterday, because it was the worst customer service experience for me to date. Do better--and do not come at this with some phony "apology" where you try to twist what happened. (Freight I will lay it out as clearly as I can 1. It took way too long and was way too much struggle to get my sisters money back. 2. You all created her accounts (both), even still, had you listened to her initially and dug in deeper when she continued to write in about being charged this could have ended better. You should have controls in place to make sure people aren't getting billed when they aren't members of your gym.

I spent years working out in a home gym and a lot of money on video programs and equipment but eventually became bored and unmotivated.

Then spent years doing CrossFit, which was a great environment for motivation, but eventually had to quit due to injuries.

That was when I found Freight House and actually started learning how to lift correctly (example: the first place where I finally learned to do a deadlift correctly and not have lower back pain afterwards). Brandon leads the team of coaches and does a phenomenal job.

There are so many class options that no matter what my schedule is that day, I can find the 30 minutes to get a great workout in. The best part is I get to show up, not have to think about or plan my workout, and leave with maximum results.

No matter what level of fitness you are, you will be welcomed, challenged, and motivated to come back for more.

I have been a member of Freighthouse Fitness for 8 years now. People ask how are you so disciplined and keep up a routine? Well the simple response to that is that the way FHF structures their classes, it is easy to stick to a routine and keep fitness as part of your health journey. What I love about the classes is that each is different and focus on a different body and muscle group. It’s perfect for those who don’t have more than an hour to dedicate to working out because there are over 10 classes a day to fit to your schedule and the best part is they are only 30 minutes long. Also, this gym is a community and very welcoming. If you are a seasoned fitness person or a first time beginner, the trainers are there to help and the classes are not intimidating. I strongly encourage people to give this gym a try because I know you’ll like it!

I went to Freight House classes on and off for years and loved it! Im currently 24 weeks pregnant and was hesitant to do the classes since I didn’t keep up with my routine in my first trimester so I decided to give personal training a try. I’m currently on my fifth prenatal personal training session with Kenzie and couldn’t be happier. She is so personable, motivating, and knowledgable. Each workout is different, so it doesn’t feel repetitive and by the end of the each session you actually feel like you accomplished something because she keeps a good pace without over doing it.
If classes aren’t your thing, you just want to get into a routine, or want to see what level you’re at without an audience I highly recommend their personal training sessions. 🙌

I stumbled upon FHF through work and instantly fell in love. Bre, one of the owners, was so welcoming and really made me feel at home. The coaches are amazing and really encouraging throughout your workout. I wasn't too sure how I was going to feel working out with strangers but everyone I’ve met has been extremely kind. Too many billing issues. I cancelled my membership and received confirmation but continued to receive charges. I reached out multiple times over the course of 2+ months . Bre stated I was closed out but the bi-weekly charges continued. The owners attitude lacked a sense of urgency and accountability in regard to the situation. I had to eventually supply screenshots to resolve. Looking back, I recall the process of setting up my account to be just as difficult—as far as getting a timely response—I should have taken this as enough of an indication not to proceed with Freight. Very poor service.

I started with Freight House Fitness 7 months ago after not working out for 25+ years and having a membership at franchise club that I never used. Prior to starting at FH my diet was not healthy. After joining I started attending the bootcamp sessions 3 days a week and made a commitment to eat healthy. Then after attending for a month, I started attending the bootcamp sessions 5 to 6 times a week unless I was out of town. I’ve now also started personal training with Brandon (FH Coach who is fantastic). He has really help me with fitness goals, form and fine turning. I’m 5’ 11” and in 7 months, I’ve gone from 218lbs to 173lbs, 26% body fat to 17.5%, and 4 inches off my waist. Not only have I gain strength and endurance but also mobility and flexibility. The benefits go beyond physical for me as I’ve noticed more mental clarity and a more positive attitude in my daily life. I enjoy the workouts, the way I feel now and I could not have done this without a workout plan that I enjoyed. The coaches are all excellent and have fitness backgrounds. The coaches and culture at FH have been critical elements to me continuing at FH as they truly care about my success and achieving not just my goals but a healthy lifestyle.

I actually look forward to going to the gym. I haven’t ever been able to say that before starting at FHF, but I mean it. The members and trainers make you feel like you’re family from the beginning. The trainers are great at modifying exercises for your ability or for prior injuries. When I used to live closer to downtown, I attended FHF. I honestly love all the instructors and I heard that they were doing a 6-week challenge(Free if you lose 6% body fat but you'd have to deposit $400 for accountability) around my birthday. I knew I had lost my strength since the last time I was there and I wanted to be healthier for the new me so I took the extra effort to drive 20 miles at 5 am to fit into my lifestyle. The challenge also consisted of zero sugar, zero fat, low carb, high protein and veggies.

Let's get to the point here are some highs:
Their work outs are 30 minutes and intense! The energy at the gym is unreal. Everyone is putting in as much effort as the person next to them and it is VERY CONTAGIOUS! You will not find anyone slacking and everyone will help you out! This house has become my home.

Here are some lows:
If you're doing challenges that you might get TOO INTO IT! Make sure you are taking a step back and not straining yourself. If your lifestyle is physically static, you need to put in twice as much more effort into being active.

The 6 week challenge taught me how much effort takes to burn 1 gram of sugar, and food plays a HUGE part of losing weight and being healthy. Going back into eating regular food was hard and I'm more conscious of what I eat. Even though I was miserable for 6 weeks here are few things that I got out of if it:
-My metabolism kicked up few notches.
-I had more energy and I was stronger.
-Noticed what being more hydrated having less appetite feels

The gym strives to build a healthier community and each other. Overall, I ended up losing 9 lbs, this includes my muscle mass increment and decrease of fat. I'm thrilled the challenge pushed me to see what change in diet and workout affect my body.

I think the classes are great and the instructors are great, but they hide their prices and refuse to talk to you about prices unless you go in for a consultation. Then it costs at minimum $80 a month. Probably a steal for that kind of training, but I would have liked to not have had to go out of my way and attend a special meeting to figure out that it was out of my price range. So here is my warning to others.

I joined freight house Fitness in January and I just want to say wow. I have had a desk job for over 25 years. I have joined gyms before with little to no results. Probably because I had no guidelines to follow and no encouragement from them. I've tried doing things on my own to get in better shape. Walking 3 miles daily. Riding my bicycle. Normal stuff. But no results.

I joined to make healthier life choices, to feel better in my own skin, to have more engergy. I have accomplished that. My energy level is great. I get excited when I accomplish the little things like being able to actually run around the block (440) without running out of breath or having to stop and walk, or passing a personal record.

For me this journey has been about finding a healther me. Freight house has given me guidelines for healthier eating habits, coached me along the way with my workouts and given me daily encouragement to keep loving myself.

The results speak for themselves. I am 3 1/2 months into my membership and the results have surprised me. I am down 22 pounds, 4 dress sizes and over 7% body fat. And according to my most recent cholesterol screening I went from 238 to 171. My results may not be typical of everyone, but I am thankful a friend told me about Freight House Fitness. It has truly been a life changer.

This place is home! I started with Freighthouse in 2016, when I wanted to get back in shape post breakup (of course). Little did I know it offers so much more!! The education and community you get at FHF are the missing piece to most gyms, in my opinion. When I started at FHF I had done a few sprint triathlons and half marathons. I was in no way an avid runner/exercise person, but I did like to try new things. I’ve done the big gyms with all the specialized classes, but never got the results I was looking for. Honestly, I joined FHF as part of their 90 day challenge, because I knew of a couple people that had really good results from it. Boy, I’ll tell you, over that 90 day period I was hooked. I learned how nutrition plays a big part in fitness. I was barely able to survive 10 burpees, but ended up semi-sorta loving them (don’t tell Sean). If that wasn’t enough, the best part of FHF are the people, truly. You see newbies/“average” people come in all the time, and get the inspiration and confidence to push their limits. Seeing people cheer on strangers and always give their best (because the person right next to them is doing the same), is the special sauce that FHF has. Since joining I’ve completed a full and half Ironman, and five marathons, as I continue to search for more improvement. However, I’m never in “as good of shape” as when I’m just doing my 30 minute daily FHF workouts, believe it or not. I no longer live close to the gym, but I can’t stop going, knowing that FHF is exactly where I need to be to become the best me possible!!

I love that the workouts are made to adapt to any skill level and that it's something new every day. It's a total body workout most days. My journey with Freight House Fitness actually didn't start with a workout, but a concert instead. The space was used for a small show during Boulevardia in 2018 and it really intrigued me. I luckily had a friend who was already a member, and I started joining him for the 6am Tuesday class (tabatas), once a week, and was HOOKED! I was already in a year long contract at another gym, so I was drawn to the 6 week challenge as a way to allow me to really get the full FH experience. I wasn't sure if the 6 week program would really show results, as I already went to the gym on a regular basis, but the diet was what really made a big difference for me. As a Type 1 Diabetic, losing weight, at least in a healthy way, is not an easy feat, and at 5"1, I don't have a TON of extra body fat to lose, but 10lbs after 6 weeks, including Christmas and New Years, I have never felt so healthy! My blood sugars were in a much better range, and while I was still getting the carbs that I needed for energy to fuel my day, I was taking much less insulin! Besides seeing physical effects, I have also seen some amazing mental effects as well. I never thought I could achieve some of the things I could (lets chat about flipping a 500lb tire?!), I was happy to get up early and workout, which then lead to a happier feeling all day. This place is really a family for me, and I can't wait to be a part of this as soon as my other gym contract is up. Thank you Freight House, especially coaches Baylie and John, I couldn't have done this without y'all!

Freight House has become a second home for me. Honestly, I was very intimidated, initially. I had never committed my body to something this rigorous. Now, I can say that I have no regrets whatsoever. The trainers invest so much into you. They truly want you to reach your goals (whatever they may be). For me, I got tired of gassing myself up without truly believing it My health was not where I wanted it to be. I didn’t have confidence. I made lots of excuses. Joining Freight House has given me the chance to challenge myself. I strive to push myself each and every day. This journey has been incredible and I can’t wait to see where I end up.

Like so many people, weight loss has been something I've struggled with pretty much my whole life. I thought I was doing my best by going to the gym and trying to eat healthy. I don't think I fully understood what healthy eating was or what I should be doing in the gym until I came to Freight House. Before I joined, I was at the heaviest I had ever been in my life. I knew that something needed to change but I wasn't sure how. At that point I had basically accepted that I would always be overweight and all I could do was try to prevent it from getting worse. My friend Casey and I decided to check out Freight House in June and it happened to be the weekend before the 6 Week Summer Slim Down Challenge was beginning. I had worked out at another bootcamp gym before, so I was a little more aware of what the workouts would include. However when the nutrition part of the challenge was mentioned I was not so sure I could do that. I was afraid it would mean eating plain chicken and just veggies every day for the rest of my life. Thankfully that was not the case. Once I learned about counting macros my whole perspective about healthy eating changed. I was able to eat what I wanted but in a balanced way. I don't feel like I'm restricted in what I can eat. Instead it's about all the food I get to eat to meet my macros. Also I don't have the anxiety that usually comes with dieting where once you fall of the wagon and make a bad choice it's over. Now I have the tools I need to put myself back on track if I were to ever get off track. I have also been noticing how much stronger I've been getting in less than a year. I remember when I first started, I would see demonstrations of the workouts and think to myself, "how's that going to happen?" But I would just remind myself at the least, keep moving. Every month it seems like I'm able to lift heavier or do something I was not able to do before. I am so thankful for Freight House and all of the coaches for pushing me. It's really changed my life. The key things I have learned from Freight House is to strive for balance and be consistent to get results. Freight House gives you the work outs and the nutrition that makes sense and works. All I have to do is be consistent in following them. If I'm ever struggling I know I can look to the coaches and the Freight House community for advice and support.

So I found out about Freight House Fitness through a Facebook ad. Might I add it was a great ad or I wouldn’t have clicked it. The presentation/ orientation was very informative and compelling. One of the trainers John really delivers the information in a fun and attractive way without any pressure. The membership is awesome it’s like no other. Most gyms you just sign up and come as you please. With freight-house you get the information the pros use to get the results the pros get, you get accountability, you get daily motivation and whole weeks worth of daily workouts. I just completed my 200th class at Freight House Fitness and it has positively changed me both physically and emotionally.

I’ve hit PR’s (personal records) on workouts that I didn’t even know existed. I started out worried about barbell workouts and now am exited about getting to deadlift my body weight. I don’t fear burpees like I used to, and am proud when I consistently get 22 in a minute (couldn’t make it past 6 in a row when I started). There isn’t enough I can say about the awesomeness of FHF and the community they create!!

The trainers are constantly pushing me further, hanging with our boys and making every workout day “fun” for my husband and me. I saw a coworker had lost a lot of weight and looked great. I asked him what he did and he told me about Freight House. He sent me a link for the 6 week Challenge and I made the call. From my first visit the folks there were welcoming and professional. John met with me and let me know exactly what the next 6 weeks would be if I said “yes” - hard...and it was REALLY hard...but rewarding. John was honest about the cost. It’s not cheap-especially since I was comparing it to other gyms that cost $10-$20/month-but, it has been totally worth it.

My accountability coach, Baylie, was with me every step of the way. She always responded quickly to questions and I had a lot. The diet for the 6 weeks was clearly laid out and, though hard to follow over the holidays, easy to understand. The workouts are TOUGH! I came into this in really bad shape - 293.6 pounds. But, I never felt pressured. I only felt challenged and supported. On many occasions the trainers would approach me when they saw me struggling and offer personalized instruction to help meet me where I was at that moment. And it worked. I weighed out after 6 weeks at 264.3 pounds - 29.3 pounds gone!

Most importantly, I truly believe that I am equipped now to continue forward with my goal of first achieving and then maintaining a sustainable healthy weight as well as reaching my medical goal of getting off blood pressure meds. It’s not going to be easy...I am never going to be a fan of workouts. But, with the continued support of coach/trainers like John and Baylie I have no doubt it’s gonna happen.

I guess you could call me a boomerang client, I found Freight House Fitness almost 3 years ago on Groupon and quickly joined as a member once the Groupon ended. "Why are you doing a fitness challenge...you're skinny?"
A friend recommended FHF after my yoga studio closed and I had been paying a monthly gym membership at a gym I rarely used (for 10 years!).
I was stressed with work & school, sleeping poorly (crabby), and had high blood pressure and total cholesterol.
I did a fitness challenge for the support and motivation to get HEALTHY again, as I'd been most of my life. I found fun and challenging workouts, and a community of people who were out to improve their health as well.
I recommend this gym if you're looking for something easy (30 min!) with a good variety of workouts and great trainers.
Yes i'm 'skinny'... but I could never do a pull up and I did my first one last month! My cholesterol and BP are normal and i'm sleeping better. It's not a fad diet, it's a lifestyle change they encourage here and I highly recommend FHF.

I signed up for the six week challenge at FHF after one of my friends who goes there was telling me about how much he enjoyed going there! I decided to do the challenge in order to jump start my journey back of getting back into a healthy lifestyle. Not only did they provide access to their amazing workouts, where they had times that fit my schedule, but they also provided recipes and other nutritional support! The community they have created was the best part tho! To be around coaches who you know have your best interest at heart and then so many other people who are committed to the same goals made the experience so much easier and a lot of fun! I ended up losing 25 pounds over the 6 weeks and am feeling more full of energy and healthier!

I completed the 6 week challenge with Freight House and loved it! I lost a total of 9.3% body fat and almost 10 pounds in 6 weeks!! Before joining, I was consistently eating out and had no exercise routine. I decided to join Freight House once I saw their class schedule and saw that it was only 30 mins long and classes were offered all through out the day so it gave me flexibility with my work schedule. I love how energetic the instructors are and the atmosphere of the gym, it's so fun and gets you hyped up. Through the challenge, I learned that you don't need to be in the gym for hours to get results. I've also learned how important a proper diet is. They provide a very detailed meal plan and recipe book. Although sticking to the diet was the most challenging part, it's something that I'll take away with me in the future.

I joined FHF on a whim but had heard great things about it due to several people participating in their challenges so I figured "why not?!" Thirty was approaching fast and I had lost motivation at my old gym so I was excited and ready to try something new. I am neither a morning person nor a gym person but I am there, usually at 6:00am, 4-6 times A WEEK and I really do enjoy it. The trainers are motivating and genuine people, seriously how do you guys know everyone by name without double checking??

I didn't finish the 6 week challenge with the goal I had in mind but decided to join anyway and keep pushing for it because they really do provide you with all the tools for success and make you feel comfortable. I did the 6 week challenge at FHF starting in October and I loved it! It is structured very well and everyone is very supportive. Getting to the gym a minimum of 3 times a week was not an issue for me at all and I actually found myself looking forward to going--and even being frustrated when I couldn't make it. The eating plan I did struggle with, BUT it has helped me to make small changes that I am confident will lead to bigger changes.

I am so glad that a friend convinced me to give it a shot. I have noticed myself getting significantly stronger over the past month and a half, and becoming mentally tougher as well. I am so thankful for Freight House!!

I found FHF through friends that were members. I was approaching a huge goal I had been working on for a year - running a marathon - and had really slacked off on other types of fitness training. My personal trainer moved out of state and in that year of training for the marathon and only running, I really noticed a change in my body composition. I had gained some weight and couldn't stick to a healthy diet to save my life because my body was constantly craving after long runs and I didn't know when to stop. I was approaching my fitness on my own and completely failing.

The week before the marathon, I made a choice that afterwards, I would start a new training program and found, through friends that were members, the 6-week challenge at FHF. I was intimidated because I didn't know what to expect but I knew I needed it. I'm so happy that I took that plunge!

From the get go, every trainer, the owners, and other members made me feel welcomed and inspired. They challenge you and hold you accountable, but understand that everyone is bound to stumble. And when I stumbled, I was still embraced. They were there, free from judgement, to help get me back on track.

The challenge helped me redefine my nutrition and the way I approach my fitness goals. Both were necessary for the progress I made. Their program helped me lose the weight I had gained over the last year, 12 pounds, but I couldn't have done it on my own. Ultimately it was the FHF family that helped me reach my goals and I'm very happy to continue to be a part of it.

I’ve taken boot camp classes before and they’re not the same as Freight House! Freight House pushes you while simultaneously not making you feel intimidated. You work at your own pace but are encouraged to push yourself to the best of your ability and I LOVE THAT! I’ve only been taking classes 5 days a week for a week and a half and I already see my endurance improving, my body getting stronger, and I’m already able to push myself harder. Community is the best way I'd describe it - it is so connected to the city and its local neighborhood while also creating a tightknit community within the gym itself. Great trainers and levels of all kinds welcome. You'll get your sweat on fo sho...

All that said, I have to take some stars away as I believe it is too pricey for a gym that pretty much only offers 1 type of class a day, has limited hours on the weekends, limited membership options, no AC, and 1 bathroom for each sex.

But I would still say give it a try and judge for yourself!

I am a runner, spin enthusiast, and have been doing 28 minute workouts on my own at the gym to to incorporate some cross-training. But I was getting bored and liked the idea of the teammate aspect at FHF. I decided to give it a shot. It's a good dose of competition. But mostly it's nice to be pushed hard (harder than I push myself when I'm on my own), and know that it'll only last 30 minutes.

I was ready to start 2018 off right, so I found Freight House Fitness on Groupon. My first class, the staff was very welcoming and the facilities were fun and eclectic.
I joined the six week challenge and have loved the classes, the motivation from the accountability coach and the sense of community. Every class is different and I’ve challenged myself mentally and physically.
The best part is the classes are 30 minutes. You don’t need a ton of time if it’s set up effectively. I would definitely recommend freight house!

I got a free month at freight house and thought I'd try it out and after my first class, I was hooked! I felt so welcomed the minute I walked in the door and still do. The trainers are all amazing and really take the time to get to know you and your goals.
