My new favorite gym. This gym has everything and I mean EVERYTHING you would need, is rarely busy, and in a safe convenient location for a commute from just about anywhere in the metro area. Staff are chill and most other people working out are spread out so I appreciate having plenty of room to take up an area. Honestly, for the price point it’s right where it needs to be.

We stopped into the gym last week and were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from Matalie. She was incredibly helpful, taking the time to answer all of our questions and making sure we felt comfortable. Lainey was also very kind and knowledgeable. You can tell they genuinely care about the people who come through the doors. Nothing about the experience felt like a transaction that was forced or scripted, which we’ve also experienced before. It is clear they both work hard to take care of everyone who walks into the facility.

I’ve been training over 12 years seriously. I’ve moved from powerlifting, to body building, to now more cross functional athleticism and wellness. I say all that to say that this has been one of my best experiences walking into a fitness center. I called ahead of time to inquire about day passes (which is usually a dry yes or no anywhere else) and got a friendly welcoming tone and additional info at the ready. Once I got there… even better! Knowing I was coming from out of Town, Dan and Bryce treated me as if I had just signed a year long commitment. Giving me a tour of the facility, showcasing amenities and overall were just very enjoyable to talk to. I’m a member to the YMCAs nationally and there was one much closer to my hotel but I’m so glad I came to Genesis instead. My highlight was the customer service but please know this is a top of the line facility with any and everything you might need. I don’t know what their monthly rate is but I promise you if I lived in St Louis I’d pay it!

Good gym. Have everything you need for a full body workout. Offer group fitness and les mills. Didn't see a pool but there was a sauna in the locker room and hydromassage chairs. Locations in convenient. Can see St. Louis Cardinals outfield from the second floor. People don't have to be smart but they really don't care if you are there to workout.

Since Genesis bought the place, they seem content to just let everything fall apart. Half of the paper products are out at any one time. Three of the four upright bikes are broken and only one of them is marked out of order. The prowler sleds are going to fall apart if they don't tighten a bolt. The old owner was constantly cleaning. I never see them cleaning here. If a light or a clock is broken, they'll take months to fix it. It's not worth whatever they're currently charging.

The equipment in the gym is nice, but I did not have a good experience with anything else. I joined because I saw they offered multiple fitness classes, which was exactly what I was looking for. Come to find out, the fitness classes that they have on their website to sign up for aren’t all operating classes. More than once I had made a trip to the gym after work to go to a fitness class I signed up for just to be told the they no longer offer that class, even though it’s still available to sign up for on their website.

In a separate instance, I tried taking advantage of their personal training sessions they offer to all new members. I was left waiting for my instructor over 20 minutes past my scheduled time for the session to start. We didn’t train at all during that session. All he did was have me do a couple exercises to see where I was at to offer me their personal training packages that were hundreds of dollars a month.

My final straw and the reason I decided to write this review was when I tried to cancel my membership at the beginning of March. I called asking to cancel and was told I need to come in for that. I work on the weekdays and was told I could only come when a manager was there to cancel. I finally was able to make it after work one day and as I was canceling they told me I was not only going to be billed for this month, but I will also be billed for April too. When asking about it and telling them I called a few days prior, I was told there was nothing they could do and that they were still going to have to charge me for April despite everything. I tried to talk to someone about the issues through the “contact us” link on their website and nobody ever contacted me. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with.

I do not recommend this gym to anybody. They do not care about their members at all.

Love this gym! It has big, floor-to-ceiling windows that bring so much natural light into the space! It always puts me in a good mood to be in a clean and refreshing environment when I work out, and Genesis is exactly that! Group classes, sauna, gated parking, and hydro massage chairs are all included in membership cost, which is really convenient. The views and the location are amazing and all of the equipment is incredibly high quality. Definitely recommend!

To start off with the facility, the Staff, the location and the equipment is chefs kiss perfect. From the get go Pompii was friendly and assisted me with getting my visits set up and getting things started for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. The facility is spotless and offers numerous options for people of all experiences and expertise to use. From free weights and cardio equipment to saunas and classes it has it all. You can’t ask for more!

If you could make the new company half as good as the staff, the gym would be great. Ever since the change of hands tons of good people (staff and members) left. That doesn't happen on accident. From equipment not getting fixed to windows not being repaired to way more parking issues, its all frustrating.

Best gym downtown still, especially outside of Cardinals season. But room for improvement.

Edit: a manager followed up and its awesome they take the time for that. Parking issues and company issues aside, the location is what people go for.

I've been a member at Genesis for a couple years now and have always been happy with the gym. The facility is clean and spacious with every type of machine or free weight you might want. There's also a great turf area for sled pushes and other free movement exercises. I've also worked with a personal trainer there - Ian - who is fantastic! This gym would have been a great fit for me if I was not pressured to sign up for a Membership from The time I walked in , I was told I was required to take a tour of the facility in order to work out with my friend as a guest . They also told me if I did not sign up that day it would be a 200$ fee to sign up which has never been true . This really disappointed me because the gym itself sells customers . I already wanted a membership the minute I walked in but he definitely talked me out of it by trying to force something that was already going to happen . Huge red flag . Staffing needs an upgraded . My biggest criteria for any gym is the abundance of squat racks, platforms, benches, etc. and this place delivers. Not sure if it’s just COVID keeping people away but after a few weeks I’ve yet to encounter a wait for anything, even during “peak.” Ample dumbbells (two sets of each for the common weights), plenty of cable machines, huge turf training area with TRX and even more dumbbells, the list goes on. And all those more minor accessories that experienced lifters look for when they want to mix it up with variations? They’ve got those too. It’s clean and the atmosphere is great— high ceilings, good lighting, cool views of BPV and the city.

If all you need is cardio equipment, spend $10/mo at Planet Fitness, because you won’t end up using most of what OneLife has to offer. But I’ve paid more for less at other gyms, so if you’re looking for a step up and don’t need a pool (literally my only complaint, but hey) you won’t do better than this spot.

I've been a member of this club for almost a year now. It is the nicest gym I've ever used! It is extremely clean - they take sanitizing very seriously. The gym itself was extremely nice, well equipped, and clean. My biggest issue was the lack of professionalism and customer service amongst its management team. A simple billing issue went unacknowledged for 5 months, even after multiple requests to the management team to have it resolved. Not only was the workout equipment and prestine condition, but I especially liked the technology of the equipment.... it kind of "rocks with your body" as you use it, which makes it really gentle on your joints.. I've been a member for almost a month now and there's some good and things that aren't great. The biggest bad thing is there's no flexibility in their plans. They only have one year contracts, and from what I've heard, the process of getting out of them if you move can be painful. Plus it's very expensive and you don't get much extra on the higher tier plan (just towels, the massage chair, and a guest pass which you can only use twice). Also the hours could be better.

The equipment selection is good but they only have ez bar barbells (no straight or adjustable barbells) and the free weight area gets crowded at peak hours. The parking lot is nice and close, but you only get 2 hours when you scan in. I do long workouts and if I want to shower that's not enough for me. Honestly it's only as nice as any of the updated Club Fitness locations, but twice the price and only includes one location. It's a nice gym certainly, and if you live nearby it might be a good deal, but otherwise I don't think it's worth it.

The gym is clean and nice. Not many machines. I have been a part of this gym for a while now and I am moving so I wanted to switch gyms I called the gym several times and no answer. I finally received an email on the 4th of September and let them know I was moving provided them with mail with my new address as is their policy. I was told I would be billed another $50 on October because I did not contact them 30 days before. Yet I did contact them and I finally got in touch with them through email on the 4th of September. 2 DAYS before the the “30 days” so i will be charged an additional $50 in September simply because they responded to me later. This is very poor customer service and I 100% do not recommend. Clearly all they care about is the money.

I’m in town for work through the week and looking to move to St. Louis in the near future. I called Onelife Fitness explaining my situation. They said they would email a 1 day pass to try it out. When I got to the gym to workout they tried to finesse me by saying since I’m not local I would have to pay $20 fee. No accommodations were made even after explaining I just drove 30 minutes from Chesterfield. Terrible communication and would not recommend a place run this poorly.

I was just expecting a state of the art type of gym with AMAZING features and atmosphere like no other for the monthly amount you pay and location! The hours suck for this to be downtown were over 28,000 residents are literally housed. They close at 10 p.m. during the week and at 6 p.m. on the weekend. It's basically the midtown location were it's potential market are on both sides of the river, city employees and residents. The sky is the limit for the company, however they don''t deliver high expectations for a prime location. Purple & yellow quality but Onelife Fitness prices... So I'm NOT impressed but it'll do for short term. Oh, there IS NO STEAM ROOM! You can tell this was an ALL male business venture.

Had an overall negative experience during my workouts here. The staff didn’t seem too interested in assisting with an issue that took place. Pretty much ignored my requests and made me feel as if customer comfortability was not important. Corporate pretty much gave the same result without actually addressing me as a disgruntled customer. Masks are required, however social distancing didn’t seem to be of importance once you leave the front desk. Won’t be coming back.

EDIT: I take back my 4 star review due to how poorly this gym is managed. They do the bare minimum for stopping the spread of COVID. The employees seem to not care at all.

They wouldn't help when there was another member that kept getting with a 6 foot radius of my partner, even though there were plenty of other machines available. This person continued to harass my partner until he had enough of it and defended himself because none of the employees there would help. This establishment maybe look nice, but trust me when I say, it's just new. You can find a better gym elsewhere, for a cheaper price, with employees who actually care about their members. Don't waste your money on a gimmick like OneLife Fitness.

Was visiting from out of town and went to workout with my brother. This was a great gym, ton of space and incredible equipment and the staff was ultra nice and helpful.

FYI folks, they do not honor their one-day guest pass (even though it takes up a big chunk of their webpage). Bear in mind, after I received the pass via email, I received a phone message, text, and email soliciting me to come in, though nowhere in any of these formats did they bother to say the pass is no good. Their remedy is, no joking, they will “roll” the free pass into a membership. Think on what that means.

Will Goheen is the best trainer. I have been training with him for a year now and couldn’t be happier. The management at this gym cares and are very committed to their members. You can watch the cardinals game through the windows while working out! What else could you ask for!

Very nice gym and all the staff was helpful until I wanted to cancel my membership due to COVID-19. On June 24th I received an email that the gym was reopening and in that email, it gave customers the option to freeze their account. I froze my account, or so I thought I did.... and even received an email that my account freeze was received. I checked my statements and I was charged membership fees for not only August, but also September. I contacted member services and spoke to a Jared Blasingame, he said he would take care the account. Two weeks later nothing. I reached back out again and spoke to a Brian Ferrari and got the run around again. Finally, on August 20th customer service they would refund my money, back on my card and I still have not received a refund on my card. Check your account and check it closely. I was very satisfied with the gym membership up until this point where there was not an actually account manager I could talk to. Enrolling for the gym was easy, but if you have problems with your account, I hope you have a lot of patience.

After being gone for a few months, due to the "Covid Craziness" of the world, I was nervous about returning to the gym. I spoke with the GM, Jack, about my fears. To make sure I felt safe and comfortable, Jack took me on a "return to the gym" tour! During that time he went over all of the clubs' new cleaning protocols! It was really GREAT to see how hard he and his staff were working to keep the gym clean and to make sure we all felt comfortable. Jack also showed me a new feature the club has called an "AirPhx" unit. This machine cleans 95% of bacteria and viruses from the air and surfaces! THAT makes me feel A LOT more comfortable! They also have spic&span buckets EVERYYYYWHERE and I often see the staff cleaning throughout my workouts! I definitely feel a lot better about using the gym now and really appreciate Jack taking to time to educate me on all of the new cleaning protocols and social distancing practices that his club is doing. Thanks Jack and Ball Park Team! See y'all @ the gym!

I originally went in for the hard hat tour, when the facility was being constructed. The staff was very friendly, provided snack and refreshments, and provided answers to many of our questions. I've recently used the gym and love the environment. It's clean, well-organized, parking lots well-lit, easily accessible, and parking is validated on all days except game days. I'm so happy there is a gym option of this quality and price for downtown residents. This is just one more item that makes the downtown area a bit more livable, slowly, but surely.
