When you walk in the gym, look to your left. The desks and the chairs are not there for anything gym related in regards to fitness or making a member successful in their journey leading a healthier lifestyle. Those are for the sales team, I was lied to and they don’t offer a pay as you go on a monthly basis. I was informed by the sales team, I had to download their app and enter my info and cc# or my monthly membership would be voided automatically at the first of the next month and I would have to pay the initial startup again after that date. If a gym has a sales team, run! Their emphasis isn’t on their members and health and fitness. It’s only on making a buck. Save yourself some time and find a real gym that doesn’t operate like it’s a car dealership. One star is way too many, maybe those sales guys could pitch in and do something about the stench in there also

We try to go every day. Someone is always at the front desk to welcome us in 👍👍 Lots of treadmills, various workout equipment and a great weight lifting area. We are in our mid 80's and need to stay active ... the gym is great for walking, bicycling, any type of work out, plus yoga and dance exercise classes. Great gym!

Theft Problem!! Worn out Gym!

Today I was taking a shower and forgot to relock my locker in the men's locker room. I was gone about 7 min and in that time someone got into my wallet and took both debit cards and one credit card. I admit it was MY fault this happened and while I was able to stop all the transactions the total amount I almost lost is 13,856,92 between the three banks. The thief also stole my SIM card in an attempt to slow me down from stopping him. A report with KCPD North Patrol was made.

When I went back later today and spoke with Brandon Graham the Gym Manger, and informed him of what happened and the dollar amount I almost lost, it was clear he did not give a two shits about my issue, did not even take notes (even when I told him the time frame), told me he would look at the video but not share it with me and would not reach out to PD unless they contacted him. He reluctantly took a copy of my loss notes and the police report card. Not even sure he got the side WITH the report number on it to be honest.

They Gym has not had money put in it. The equipment is worn on some pieces, the water fountains have their innards showing, overflowing trash can of paper towels, the shower curtains are so small that water shoots out of them instead of keeping it in the showers, there is gouges in the walls of the men's locker room, the poster are either not in the frames and wrickled from water log and have not been replaced probably ever, the desk the staff use are falling apart and peeling, and today no hand sanitizer in the dispenser by the water fountains. Details matter and if they cannot clean and maintain the SMALL things what else are they not cleaning or maintaining or fixing to standard. Where the hell is my money and yours going I ask?

There are OTHER Genesis Gyms in the area and I suggest, like I am, you stay away from this one, its manager, and find one were the GM cares about his gym and staff and a member who had almost 14,000 stolen by another member today. Its worth the extra gas and drive time.

I joined Genesis for a second time, the first time was pre-COVID. Since joining the personnel especially Brandon, Cody, Kyler have been exceptional in welcoming me to the club and answering all of my questions pertaining to getting fit! The exercise classes have been phenomenal! The cardio &strength, strength and group classes were absolutely amazing! I had been going to this gym consistently for over a month, using the kids’ club each time with my child. I was called once about my membership, but I kept going , and not a single staff member ever said a word to me in person about a payment issue. Today, while holding my son, I was suddenly told I couldn’t bring him in anymore unless I paid $270.

That kind of delayed communication is not only unprofessional, it’s humiliating. I was never emailed, flagged, or spoken to before this, and I felt completely blindsided. For a place that promotes being family-friendly, this was a poor experience. I’ve since switched to another gym that actually values clear communication and respects both me and my child.

I started at the library location asked for someone specifically someone with alot of experience because I have an autoimmune disease they told me a guy has been there 10 plus years can help and and I signed up.when AI came for my appointment they signed me up with a girl who just started saying she was assigned because the other guy had to pick his kids up from school. I’ve been using Genesis Gym this summer while visiting from abroad, and it’s been a great experience! As an international guest, I felt welcomed from day one. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the facility is clean, spacious, and well equipped with everything you may need to hit a workout.

I absolutely loved Karen's Sunday morning yoga class at Genesis Health Clubs on Boardwalk! It was the perfect way to start my week. Her class was a fantastic blend of stretching and yoga poses, striking a great balance that left me feeling both invigorated and relaxed. What really set Karen's class apart was her music selection. Instead of the typical, sometimes monotonous, traditional yoga music, she curated a playlist of popular songs with the ideal beat to complement our movements. It made the whole experience so much more engaging and fun! Karen was also incredibly personable throughout the class, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to making her class a regular part of my Sunday routine!

This location is subpar in comparison to all the other Genesis locations in the Kansas City area. It has to be the smallest and the most cramped site and it lacks basic amenities other locations have, like locks on the lockers in the locker room and a towel service. Update: still the worst gym I’ve been to. I expect overpriced drinks but when you advertise them at $1.25 less than what they actually are, and then say “haven’t had time to change them” even though you were just playing on your phone before I walked up to shows how crappy the staffing is here. Still very unimpressed and will be looking for a better gym.

Not impressed at all. Especially for the price. They were trying to bribe me to put a 5 star review for a free T-shirt. They are very pushy and I hate the vibe they put off. Some of their machines are terrible and I can’t use them. The quad machine as an example needs to be upgraded. The bar lands on your shins and you can’t go heavy on it. Update more of your equipment and I’ll give you more stars.

Freshly out of the Military this gym offers everything that I need to stay physically fit. The staff is super helpful, and encourage day to day fitness. I encourage anyone in the area to check it out.
