Has all the machines and free weights you could need, sauna in the locker room. Pretty small in comparison to other locations and seems to be packed no matter what time of day. I usually go to the genesis near my house in Overland Park, but I was in need of a hat due to bright lights at the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings that I was eating at (I have light sensitivity issues/migraines). I did not have a hat so stopped into the Liberty Genesis to ask if they had any and the staff was so incredibly friendly and understanding and gave me a hat. I appreciate the service. The gym also looked clean and not crowded. I will have to come up sometime to exercise.

Ive been to a lot of genesises used to love this place but they got a ton of new workers and they're telling me i need to pay 5 dollars for a new pass i pay my membership + a cleaning fee they added with no warning the machines stay broken for at least a month when they break i've worked out here for 3 years and only ever gotten a new pass once and when i tried to get another one they said i need to pay 5 dollars for something that can't cost more than 5 cents to make 👎👎

I have to give it two stars because of how dirty it is. They don't clean the showers or locker rooms. I've been to several Genesis clubs and this one is the dirtiest... actually this is the only dirty ones. The other ones are relatively clean. They don't clean once a day, once a week, not even once a month. I complained once in person and they told me they would "take care of it". Not true. They didn't do anything. If they don't get their act together I will be contacting the health department because the showers and locker rooms should be extremely clean to prevent the spread of disease. Otherwise, it is a solid gym. The sauna is always hot, Hot, HOT! like it should be.

My spouse and I initially just popped into Genesis Gym in Liberty to take a look around, with no real intention of signing up. However, Logan completely changed our minds! He was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping us find the right fit. He answered all our questions patiently and made us feel instantly comfortable.
His enthusiasm was contagious, and we ended up signing up for a membership together on the spot! We also decided to train with Kolby, and he has been absolutely amazing. He's a fantastic trainer and has made us feel incredibly safe and welcome.
Both Logan and Kolby have created a really positive and supportive atmosphere. We feel like we've found a real community here. If you're looking for a gym where you feel supported and encouraged, Genesis Gym in Liberty is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Don't believe the no contract. They won't cancel your membership. Then after you they will keep drafting your account. Then if you stop those payments they say if you don't come in and pay for month or months you didn't use after you canceled claim they can't then make it right and cancel it cuz you have a balance then they threaten you with collections.

Do not bring your children here with the trust that their safety and well-being will be prioritized. Today, there were huge vats of what seemed to be glue and no clear ventilation measures in place (it looked like they were redoing flooring?) There were tools including a knife sitting within reach of the children. There was a large roll of the flooring they were working with in the area with the children that looked heavy enough to easily crush a child if they played on it.

The entire set-up is very unprofessional for a business and very unsafe for any environment with children. This project could have easily been completed after closing time when children would not be present.

I had never been a gym regular until i joined Genesis a few years ago. When my first trainer Hannah left Genesis I was doubtful I would find another trainer who would help me keep up the weekly routine i had come to enjoy. I shouldn’t have feared however, she left me in great hands with Kendra who I have been training with for over a year now. Kendra’s humor & energy make training something I value as part of my weekly workout routine. Even as my gym use comes and goes throughout the year I know I can count on Kendra to keep me motivated to keep coming back each week. I feel functionally stronger at 40 than I have in any of the previous decades of my life & am thankful for my training sessions that help provide balance to the outdoor activities i love (hopefully for many decades more!)

I was a thin 130lbs and I always wanted to be bigger and feel stronger. I tried to work out alone for so long and even following online videos and routines I got nowhere. It wasn’t until I started working out at Genesis and worked with a great trainer named Kendra that I started to see real results. The results filled me with motivation to keep going now working out is more of a hobby to me. Shot up to 210lbs putting on a lot of muscle.

I have been a member at Genesis for 2 years now. I love that they have childcare and the gym is always clean, but the biggest reason I’ve stayed with Genesis is my trainer, Kendra. She has helped me with strength training and fat loss after having 2 babies. She never pushes me past my limit but pushes me just enough. Don’t expect your car to be safe here and if/when it gets broken into or windows shot out they will tell you there is nothing can help you with as they aren’t responsible for what goes on in their own parking lot nor do they have cameras to monitor anyways. Gym equipment is in desperate need to be refreshed/replaved. Curl machine one pin is missing. Machine row the grips are off and sticky. People need to wipe machine down after each use or a staff member should go around one hour or two and wipe the equipment, including the dumbbells, and barbells. Other than the gym equipment, staff is friendly. I go in without any issues and complete my workout. It's not bad, and not good. It's in the middle. If there is another big gym that opens up, it may cause some lost in members if it doesn't keep up.

I opened member ship for my son .They person was helping me said if I give my bank account to withdraw the monthly payment from I will be saving $7 each month.when they withdraw my first payment it was $42.40 . I called to ask what was going on the manager of the club said that this deal was for adults members ship . I Was never told that when I singed up . She knows my son was only 14. But she still explained the deal and made me sing up . They are lying to you so they can make get you to sign up for the membership . Hoping you have no choice and keeping it. I thought it was a good deal why not. But it’s not worth it . Josh the manager of the club was very very rude and he right away told me come and cancel your membership if you don’t like the price. So disappointing and disrespecting .They need to educate their workers batter not to teach them to lie to get people signed up. Be careful with this club. About 2 years later they changed their initial (highly inacurate) unprofessional response.
I could never get a reasonable portion of value for the personal training we paid for, so that was a total waste of $$$$ and we did not appreciate the waste of our time and money for that unusable service. The later revised response by Jason was much more professional than the original inaccurate denial but no offer was ever made to make anything right regarding the money paid for inconsistent, unavailable service over the years so we finally just discontinued our membership (since 2017).
It does sound like Jason was attempting to do much better than the previous managers but too late and too little to improve our experience.

My experience has been that they oversell and under-deliver. Their turnover is so high that I could not get three personal trainer sessions scheduled with the same person AND more sessions were cancelled by their trainers than were kept. I could go on but apparently if you are real familiar with gyms you can do alright by yourself here.

I love the personal trainers here!!! They really take there time and effort to make sure you like the workouts and enjoy them, and they really do work. I am a going into freshmen year and he already helped my squat Pr go to 325 to 335!!! And my deadlift PR was 325 and now it went up to 355!!! And let me Mind you I’ve only done 3 out of 4 lessons! These guys are game changers, 5 stars.

We love the women at kids club! They’ve been watching over our son since he was 8 weeks old and always say hi to him and make him feel so welcomed (he’s now reaching for them every time we come in). Not a lot of people take the time to make sure parents and children feel welcomed, and they do such an amazing job. They even manage to always be so cheerful and smiles on their faces. My husband and I are so lucky to have these women watch and care for our son- we’re very grateful for all of them! They will even send pictures of our son while we’re working out to let us know he’s doing good, they’re truly so amazing.

UPDATE #2: Cancelled membership because stairmasters still don’t work well, if at all.

UPDATE #1: Hats off for effort. Unfortunately, of the two stairmasters they tried fixing, the one that's been broken for 2 years still doesn't work. The display is powered on but it no longer controls the machine other than the power button. The other machine's head unit is now actually tightened to the machine, but the stairs still have a significant "thump" in its gears. Wouldn't be surprised if it breaks down soon. Oh, and the display on the 3rd machine, can only see half the screen. FIX YOUR MACHINES AND DO IT CORRECTLY. This isn't rocket science.

ORIGINAL POST: 4 stairmaster machines at the Liberty club. I’ve been a member for 2 years. One of the four machines has been broken the entire time I’ve been a member. It has a “TBD” on the out of service sign. Now a second machine has an out of service sign. The third machine is not smooth at all and the head unit is about to fall off. Fourth machine isn’t great either. Likely cancelling my membership in next week or two unless those machines are fixed ASAP.

I LOVE this location. I’ve been going to this gym for years, before it was Genesis, and this is the best shape I’ve seen this place in. I’ve loved that they’ve opened up the back space to allow more room for equipment. Jason has been lovely and really gives the place such a welcoming feel. Was in town for a couple days, needed a gym. Great fit, everything I wanted. It was even busy but I never waited for a machine or anything - bench, squat, etc. Super friendly staff, even offered to waive the guest pass fee. I would have been more than happy to have paid. The other gym-goers were polite and friendly but not too-friendly. The only criticism would be that they didn’t have any towels for the showers - something about an account issue but they told me upfront so it wasn’t a problem.

Working in KC for the week, and the hotel gym was atrocious. Found good reviews for this Genesis location and went to check it out. Staff was awesome dudes and set me up with a week pass. I wanted to specifically write a review because there are a few key things that separate a mediocre gym from a good/great gym, and really, most are mediocre. However, this gym is great. Clean, hospitable staff (a couple of the keys)... but, the two benefits that matter most to me is the variety of equipment and # of benches/squat racks. Tremendous variety to hit each group a little differently. Just about every Hammer Strength you can think of. Also, tons of available squat racks (+ hack) and benches (and cables!)... no screwing around waiting for people. This gym appears to have been made by an individual or team who ACTUALLY LIFT... crazy... I know. And plenty of cardio equipment if you're into that too ;).

Favorite spot to train when I'm in town. New, clean facility with tons of equipment, plus the most locations city wide if you need to be in different parts of the metro area. Great staff as well!

I am a gym rat who enjoys visiting new gyms while on vacation. Recently, I had the pleasure of working out at Genesis Health Clubs. Genesis Health has every type of equipment imaginable and ample space to conduct any workout you want. I really enjoyed my time at Genesis and would make this my home gym if I lived close. Got a chance to speak with Rocky and reggie they were really cool dudes that i was able to talk training and a little on life. Im a college athlete and reggie’s background as a football player made me feel like he understood where i was coming from and my position i’m in that we talked about.
