One of the very bad experience i am having at Gold gym today....i was just enrolled few days back here in gold gym...and after getting email from gold Gym that they are closing this location i placed a cancellation request and it was discussed that you have not completed one month so if you place your request within one month then as a one month guarantee program we will not charge you anything...so i placed the cancellation just after 7days... then it was charged me on 25th nov..now i checked with them and they saying i need to pay $100 to get it cancelled and the manager is very very very very rude.. she is not ready to lesion anything...please let me know if you have any idea whats needs to do for this situation....as i don't want to pay $100+32 for the 7day gym and that is not to my fault as the gym is closing otherwise i will never get it cancelled....i request everybody Never Ever enroll in Gold gym..simply they took money and flew away...

This is by far my favorite gym and my favorite golds in the area. It may be smaller than all the other golds gym but, the amount of weights/weight machines is ridiculous there's almost double of everything! And the staff is the best. The staff and management really make you feel like part of a family and they really do seem to care about you and not just your money. Even the people that come to work out are a great bunch of people. The gym seems like one big family. Great atmosphere for working out.

Small gym as compared to other Gold's Gyms in the metro area. However, there are more than enough aerobic & weight machines for the peak hours. The clientele are always respectful. The only issue is the need to expand & update the sauna & showers. The staff treats everyone like we're all VIPs. Plus, please get these guys a smoothie station.

Just so nobody else gets swindled by this place, DO NOT purchase a 1-3 month membership and think that's all you are purchasing. You are actually purchasing a permanent membership until you physically go into the location and cancel it. I was in St Louis for a few months just for work despite living in Kansas City, so I purchased a 3 month membership. Turns out they have continued to charge me each month despite it even listing a contract end date 3 months after I purchased the membership. Tried to call in to cancel, and they told me it cannot be done without physically going to the location to cancel. Watch for the false advertising and read the fine print folks. Don't just trust you're buying a 3 month deal like I did. Also left my phone # for a manager call back, heard nothing after 2 days so had to call back in myself to get this resolved. Still never even spoke to the manager.

Place is literally falling apart. Tiles falling off the walls. Locker rooms are filthy. The TV in the men’s locker room has been broken for at least six months. Not sure how it’s possible to be part of such a large franchise with zero quality control.

Don’t waste your time. Either join another gym or go to a different golds location. The staff turn over rate is high, mgmt (Sam ) has a lack of concern or compassion. They change the hours more than they clean the bathrooms or equipment. This location has outdated machines, it’s small so there already isn’t a lot of equipment and on top of that soemthing is always broke. The employees stand around and talk at the front to make you literally stand in like to scan in. Just leave the scanner and we can do it ourselves. Maryland heights location is worthless and pointless.
Don’t sign up for a personal trainer, you see them one week the next they are gone.

Never ever ever use one of their personal trainers. You get stuck in a three-month contract that, unless yku get an attorney, you can never get out of. I've been passed from trainer to trainer, and had to go over my goals again and again. Not to mention, I've never received a fitness plan, and they treat you like garbage. I've had the same trainer either completely miss an appointment, or reschedule at the last minute. Needless to say, when my three months are up, Gold's is never going to hear from me again

I pimped feral thugs so hard while achieving muscular hypertrophy that they drove to Cheyenne Wyoming and got maced by police in the Gold's Gym parking lot. I hope they made it back to Saint Louis ok with that mace in their eyes.

Friendly staff, child care people are wonderful with my 2 year old, janitorial staff keep it all clean and most importantly the gym members respect the equipment and put things away. One more drinking fountain would be wonderful.

They don't take care of the equipment. Rates keep going up. While they change there hours to be open less. I've been a member here since they opened at dorrset. Looking at other gyms. I can't work out on Saturday's now because of the new closing time. This gym has been going down hill for awhile now. It's sad because it's a convenient location. When I talked to them about the new hours they didn't care. They need better customer service.

Extremely disappointed with the level of service here.
I joined this location upon relocation to the area in fall 2016. I explained to the membership representative that I was new to the area and looking forward to connecting with this gym community and getting back into my workout routine which had been a struggle since taking a new career with demanding travel. The follow up of the membership rep was lacking.
Next, I received an email a few months into my membership from Ryan, asking me about my experience so far, how my workout routine has been, and how I could have a better experience. I replied to Ryan admitting that I would enjoy some community and accountability. I was excited to have heard from him, and thought this would lead to more engagement with the Gold's facility. It did not. Even after I expressed difficulty being consistent with my routine and welcoming support/input, I heard nothing back in return.
Finally in fall 2017, I stopped by the desk to inform management I was unfortunately interested in cancelling my membership due to upcoming relocation to a different city. Rather than directing me to the appropriate person to cancel the account as I requested, the staff member encouraged me to look in my new neighborhood for a Gold's Gym I could transfer my membership to. I left, got moved up to the new neighborhood a few hundred miles away, and eventually found there is not a Gold's located near me.. I called this location to once again request my membership be cancelled. The person who took my information ensured a manager would be in contact with me. I did not hear any communication in the next couple weeks.
Today I saw that my account was charged for my membership still. I called to dispute. Jill informed me this is policy that upon cancellation, it's a "30 day notice." I understand that under normal circumstances, but feel betrayed as I tried cancelling and had terrible communication from Gold's on all occasions. I tried calmly and politely disputing the issue over the phone. As I waited for her to take the opportunity to amend a situation with an unsatisfied customer (me) there was a long silence before she hung up the phone.
In contrast to this experience, the new gym that I've recently joined has done nothing but communicate with me and make sure I'm getting plugged in to the right people and activities in their gym community. The experience has been night and day more positive, which is probably amplifying the distaste I have for the disengagement I've experienced at this Gold's location.
If you are looking for a facility that is mostly well-kept, with a variety of equipment, then Gold's checks those boxes. However, for a community and welcoming place where you can find accountability and support in your workout goals I don't recommend it.

I love working out but can't wait to get out of contract because of this place alone lots of slamming weight jug heads and then I make one complaint about towels not being refilled next thing ya know it's like I am the emperor I have a guy that constantly every day vacuums around me to the point where I thought he was invading my space so I complain and management did nothing to just keep this guy away from me while I workout something easy ya know but not for these people so this is why I would never suggest this gym to anyone I will actually do the exact opposite go for club fit that's where wife and I will be as soon as contract is up

1st thing, Just cancel your membership when you are moving. The staff at this branch will suggest you can continue your membership but it is just false. When you go to gym in other state, they will tell you have to open a new account, then you'd be in a soup.

I was charged three times before I could cancel my membership. I couldn't even use the gym till end date since I moved. Horrible experience!

I bought a gold's membership years ago and the gold's has been changed to another name.
Plus something came up on my account which I had no idea of, anyway chris was very understanding, professionaland, and kind. He let me do my workout without charge. I offered to pay for the visit several times. I do a lot of traveling and when someone like Chris can help make things easier, you let people know.
This is why I stick with gold's !!

Such an incredible facility, awesome employees, and the GM, Jerry, is very professional and really cares about this gym. Ryan is fantastic and answers all questions you have. He spent alot of time with us on our tour and made sure we knew everything about their facility. Also, Jake Sinovich is one of the trainers there and he is the most upbeat, positive, professional, and genuine person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting and training with. If you're looking for someone to push you to your limits in the best way possible and truly care about your needs and goals, he's the man to go to! I highly recommend Gold's Gym--Dorsett to anyone looking for a quality experience surrounded by professionals that truly love their job and want to see you succeed!

I've been doing to Golds for About 4 years now. It's nice when the manager knows your name and your child's name and stops to say hi. The staff is friendly and I know my child is happy when he is at the daycare. This is my second home πŸ’ͺ🏼

I have been going to this gym for about seven months now. I've gone at all different times--the earliest is 6 a.m. and latest is 10 p.m. The facility is always clean, including the locker room/bathroom. Most of the time I see a staff member cleaning the machines or the facility itself. The only reservation I have about this gym is that they'll run out of wipes and not restock them for a few days. When this happens, they do provide a spray bottle and paper towel. I'm just a bit of a germophobe.

I am also giving this gym a five star rating because I have never witnessed another gym member not put their weights away. The other members are also really friendly. If you want awesome staff AND awesome fellow gym rats, this is the place to be.

I stopped in at 3:45pm on a Friday and no manager or sales rep to sign me up or give me information about training session prices. I asked the young girl at the front desk if she could give me pricing information and she couldn't. I was really looking forward to joining here because it's so close to my house, but this really rubs me the wrong way. Too bad for them, they lost a pretty big sale today... Ugh!

The facility is always too packed, the scanner never works, the water-fountain is always broken, and the staff is very rude.

Also try cancelling your membership, they will keep taking your money and draining your bank account. Nearly a year later after I had canceled my membership they are taking me to collections to pay for the year after I had canceled my contract. It's a complete rip-off and scam. I wish I had never joined here!

Love the gym. The company it self need to change some of its buisness practies. I recently asked about cancelling my month to month. I was told to give a 30 day notice. When I spoke with a representive of gold gym I was told even after I give my notice to cancel I would be bill an additional month after cancelling. Sound like a termanation fee to me.

Sales Staff lied to my son that if he moved away from Gold's Gym, he could cancel his membership. It has been a nightmare to cancel. Every time he thought he had the membership cancelled, charges would show up on his statement. Do not join! They lie to you to get your membership.

Sales people are cheater in this GOLD Gym, Never trust the plan they mention in front of you. Always take all quotes and understand them after coming home and then decide. In JAN 2015 Gold Gym has started a No Contract No Registration Fee plan but sales person will not tell anything about these plans or rather draw you toward the expensive plans that gives benefit to them. Do not trust Sales representative from GOLD Gym. They are cheaters !!!

Everything is good about this location and also being here at the right time does make a lot of difference (well, that makes a difference anywhere in life). The only down side, which will not make me a take star off of it, is that the treadmills are a bit old and some of them might need a their inner rods to be changed because they make bad noise while operating.

I did like the trainer, equipment is nice but there is no customer service (local or national) when you need it. And yes I was trying to end contract I had medical documentation for issue, paid for personal training sessions (in which I was not looking for refund) and made no less than 4 personal attempts and 2 phone attempts to talk to necessary personnel. National attempts include FB, Twitter, email...ugh!!!!

Best gym in St. Louis. Dorsett is always open on time, even @ 4:am. The facility including the restrooms is always clean. Sanitary wipes or spray bottles to clean equipment and benches are always available. The pieces of equipment are numerous so there is virtually no waiting to use. The equipment is kept in great shape. Members are friendly and courteous, staff are professional, cordial and willing to be of assistance. The staff always greet you by name and say good bye when you leave. There is a dry marker board prominently displayed that lists action items being addressed with a due date. Same board post announcements and acknowledgements. Katie the GM is always walking the gym to see what is going on and solicits ideas for continual improvement. She cares what everyone thinks of her gym.

I am very happy to be a member of the Dorsett Golds Gym. The staff is very friendly and treat me as an individual, not just another member. Being called by my first name makes me feel welcome. The gym is clean and well maintained. No one is above approach and all are willing to answer any questions. I have never felt embarrassed asking how to use equipment or what to do to work a specific area. I would recommend everyone to visit the Dorsett facility or become a member there.
