A great place to workout! We do ours in small classes, and their personal trainers are wonderful! We also had a swim party for our grandkids and families, and they absolutely loved it with the awesome water slides and the lazy river. We had what they called “best day ever”!

Booked a pool party which was $185. My kids only got to swim about 45 minutes before someone pooped in the pool which at that point everyone had to get out. There was still 30 minutes before we were supposed to be able to set up in the party room. I asked the front desk if there was any way we could go in earlier and if we would be able to get some sort of refund for not being able to swim even 1 hour of the 2 we paid for and they said we'd have to talk to the life guard supervisor since the front desk only books the parties and has nothing else to do with the actual event.

We waited the rest of the time before going to set up the room. We had to let ourselves in being that it was unlocked and all 5 life guards were in the pool area "assisting" with the contamination issue when in reality only one of the lifeguards were scooping the stuff while the other 4 stood around and watched.

The party room had not been cleaned at all. There was still over flowing trash from the previous party and trash all over the floor. When I finally got to speak with the supervising life guard, he just said that the pool would be reopened at 4 and that we could go back to swim if we wanted (even though it would close for the day at 5) which we did not want to not only because we had already changed out of our swim suits but because the only "cleaning" done to the pool was them scooping the feces out and then adding more chemicals to the water. The head life guard Markeise was no help to us in this situation. He stated that he was "just a life guard" even though front desk told us that he would be the one in charge and the one to rectify the situation.

When asked about a refund he just said that they could maybe offer free day passes for us to come back and swim another day and instead had me write down my contact information for his supervisor to give me a call. Whole experience was unacceptable for the price we paid and just very disappointing. Luckily my birthday girl is only 4 and is resilient but she was extremely upset to have to get out of the water so soon and we definitely got cheated on everything else. Will not be returning ever regardless of the solution but to have paid so much money I feel at least a partial refund is warranted. Hopefully when this supervisor decides to call they will make this right.

Their cleanliness and safety lacking we don’t think they bleach the showers often because a family member picked up athletes foot and as soon as he started attending his work gym the athletes foot went away. The lifeguards wear socks with their shoes so they are never ready to jump in to save a life. All the lifeguards quit at once due to safety concerns and the pool had no staff for months. They hire people that don’t care and won’t get rid of them because they pay so badly they can’t find actually qualified personnel. Most of the staff looks to bee in high school and act like it. You can never find an attendant even on their camera because they hide. One of the managers Annette told me she sees all kinds of unsafe behavior in the weight rooms and she does nothing to prevent or stop it. They only had 6 Elliptical Machines in the entire center. They then got rid of the 2 best ones to make room for bikes that are hardly ever used. Out of the four remaining ellipticals 3 make clicking sounds. The staff were made aware at least 6 months ago and all they did was replace a cracked step on one of the ellipticals.

We went here for a RayPec swim meet. They don't have adequate seating for the number of people who come watch students swim. They do, however, close the pool area, which saved me. Thank you for that, Before we even entered the building, my 8 year old was begging me to go swimming. For those who don't know, the easiest way to get to the area of the meet is to go through the family locker room, take a right and go past all the students hanging out doing nothing where the lifeguards hang out. There is an entrance door to go through on the left side. I only say this because I went in where the younger kids swim, and my son just wanted to go swimming since nobody was in the pool. There are two doors that lead into the meet area, but they are blocked by people sitting waiting to watch the swim meet. The kids that hang out in the office area where the life guards hang out will not help you they just sit in there laughing as people are trying to figure out where to go. Very helpful employees, 🙄(sarcasm), The High Bluewellness Center should be very proud of the student staff they hire because they really seem to care.🙄(more sarcasm)
If they can't help direct people on where to go to watch the swim meet, why should we trust them to save someone's life if they are drowning. I mean, if they stand around laughing at someone who is figuring out what door to go through, then I'm sure they will stand around and laugh if someone is drowning. We were there on Tuesday 12/5 around 430.

I felt very comfortable here! My first day was on Thursday and I was there 9am to 11am. I was in the pool for an hour and then I went upstairs to walk on the indoor track. Everyone was courteous and I really liked how accessible the whole facility was.

My family has used High Blue for everything from the indoor pool, outdoor park, fitness classes, kids rec sports, baby showers, and birthday pool parties. Front desk staff are always extremely pleasant and helpful. They've revamped some of their website/apps that they use, and it has been a great improvement. I will say that I wish they had changing tables in the locker rooms because the family restrooms are often taken when the pool gets busy. I've just recently started joining fitness classes, and the app makes the process very simple. Overall, I feel like the cost of a family membership is well suited to the benefits and would definitely recommend!

Came here while on vacation with my nieces and nephews. Ben(one of the life guards) made us feel safe in the pool. Their personal training staff specifically Robert and Tina went out of their way to give us a quality tour and it is evident they are proficient in their training. It's amazing to have a wide range of group fitness opportunities all in one place! I love that I can join in and have reliable access to regularly scheduled fitness routines to look forward to. Helps my motivation to keep moving. I also enjoy the pool for therapeutic activity, so it's important a calm and focused environment is available. It's a considerable bonus that a well functioning and clean sauna is on premise. I've only been at busy times, but most people are so courteous... I generally don't mind the close proximity.

The class instructors at high blue are excellent. High Blue also does a great job keeping gym equipment up to date. For years I only used the gym but once I started going to the classes, it was a whole new experience. I enjoy the classes so much! There are classes for everyone regardless of age and fitness level. The facility is nice; however, the hours need to be extended to pre-COVID hours. They need to stay open until 10 Monday - Friday and 9 on Saturday and 7 on Sunday. During the week the weight room is often crowded until 8:15-8:30 and it’s difficult to get a decent workout in since the facility closes at 9. There have been many nights that there are 25-30 people who are forced to leave before they’re finished working out, playing basketball or volleyball.

Not much for kids to do. It's summer and slides are closed or broken, pool closed because of no staff. Swimming lessons canceled because of no staff. Center refuses to give refunds and tells you they will give credit but credit doesn't teach my 4 kids how to swim and why would I want to use those credits at a facility that can't maintain service to members or those buying classes. The front desk is constantly backed up so it takes forever to get help. I called to speak to someone about swimming lessons and was sent to the aquatic dept. After 3 phone messages and 4 weeks I finally walked in to pin down someone in person. Another 2 weeks later after having signed up my 4 kids for swim lessons at $241 I receive a call from aquatics saying they were returning my call asking about swim lessons. Really? 6 weeks to return a call? I paid this facility $1300 and they can't supply the services I purchased. But after numerous emails with the manager they absolutely refuse to refund any portion of my money. NOT KID FRIENDLY! ONLY AFTER MONEY!

Everything I loved about the Harrisonville Community Center, I love about this place - and then some. Belton is a considerably larger town, and that is reflected in this facility. It has an outdoor pool and also a lap pool that is set apart exclusively for lap workouts. Then, there's another pool for the kids, with a lazy river, slides, and other fun stuff to do. The weight machines (new) are all upstairs, but there is also a weight room in its own building called "the garage" that's a bit quieter. The walking track is also upstairs and traverses above the gym, where they actually offer Pickleball sessions! The center offers plenty of classes at times throughout the day - I can't imagine a person couldn't find something to suit them at a time that works for them. One thing that HBWC has that is missing at H'ville is personal trainer and small group trainer offerings. I'm doing a 3 month membership here to be sure the staff and facility are all that I've been hoping for. If not, I'll go back to H'ville, which is closer by 16 miles. With gas prices as high as they are, HBWC needs to be top shelf in all regards to be worth the added expense.
