Such a wonderful welcoming studio full of love and understanding and relief! I can’t praise this studio enough! Crystal’s wonderful sounds and the reiki practitioners were just what I needed after a day of hectic travel. Alicia’s yoga nidra’s class was so uniquely relaxing and poignant. I was deeply touched. I will be returning to this great studio. A jewel of St Louis. I cannot recommend more highly this wonderful place and people!

If you’re looking for a class that unlocks hidden tension deep in the fascia of your hips, back and neck, a session with Matthew Healey’s β€œDeep Stretch with Massage Therapy Balls” is it. Matthew encourages participants to find a still point within themselves to allow self healing to begin. His cues are clear and easy to understand even for a beginner. The postures and props are simple but the experience can be profound and transformational. I highly recommend this class.

Valeri was awesome! I participated in her sound class where she used singing bowls, crystal bowls, and various other soothing instruments as we laid on our mats and got into a meditative state. It was such a relaxing class and much needed. She’s a very kind person and well prepared. I will be participating again that’s for sure! This class was outside but she has classes at the Joy studio as well.

I just finished an inspiring yoga class led by Nicole centered on self-love, and I’m still feeling the calm energy from it. She guided us through a beautiful flow that balanced inner reflection with physical strength and stability. It wasn’t just about movementβ€”it was about honoring yourself in every posture, listening to your body, and appreciating where you are today. Definitely will be attending more classes.

So grateful to have found this studio. I love Joy’s classes in particular and have also enjoyed other offerings. I continue to learn new things.

I do suggest changing into your yoga clothes at home if you’re able to, rather than trying to change in the studio.

Matthew Healy's therapy ball class is wonderful! It has really helped me keep moving with less pain. I always think that "oh, that part doesn't hurt" and then working with the therapy balls, I realize it really did. This is just one of so many classes offered at Joy of Yoga, a truly soulful healing studio.

I’d not been much of a yoga enthusiast until last year when I checked out Matt Healey’s massage therapy ball class. I’ve been active (dancer racquet sports, fitness ,etc) for most of my life, and always thought the stretching I did at the end of my workouts was sufficient, but after a few of these classes I noticed much greater flexibility, tension relief, and strength especially in my back and lower body. Matt is a very effective teacher with years of experience in yoga, martial arts, and recently massage therapy, and his style is relaxed and non-intimidating. Check out the Sunday class and see for yourself!

Nicole was an excellent instructor. I've practiced yoga for years, but have never joined an in person class.
I was impressed with her ability to create a class that was suitable for all levels of ability.

Started classes at Joy of Yoga recently. Being brand new to yoga, I was a little apprehensive at first but the experience has been great so far. My wife and I signed up for some yoga basics to start with and all the teachers were very welcoming. Their site describes each class with a bio on the instructor so it is easy to find what class suits my interests best. Would highly recommend to a beginner. My wife, who has some previous experience, says the studio space itself is one of the nicer ones she has used in the area. Very happy we found this place.

Great studio! The space is very clean and relaxing. The instructor, Alicia, was also extremely welcoming and made this social anxietied fella feel very at ease.

The class itself was truly great for what I needed at the time. I did a restorative yoga class there (my first yoga class in well over 10-15 years!) and when I left I felt more relaxed and centered than I had in eons!

Do your mind and body a service and schedule a class here. In these stressful times you owe yourself this self care and you may not even know it until after the class!

If I could turn back time, I would never attend their virtual yoga workshop. This company is very eager about their marketing. I really enjoyed Joy’s Ayurvedic detox workshop. The information provided was very helpful and the printed materials beautifully done and useful. I loved how each week built upon the one before. I was able to implement the parts that felt right and doable for my life without feeling like I was depriving or overwhelming myself. The support of the community in this class was an amazing benefit. I look forward to keeping many of the things I learned in place, as well as continuing to make the recipes shared. Completely worth the investment and energy spent on bettering myself!

Joy of yoga is a true gift to your body, your mind and your spirit. The yoga classes always leave me feeling refreshed with my body nourished, and with many helpful thoughts to carry with me into the world. I have also taken her Ayurvedic classes, most recently completing a fall four week detox class. Joy is a wealth of Ayurvedic knowledge and she encourages the group in such a loving non-judgemental way, meeting people where they are. After this detox my body feels lighter and less inflamed, and I have incorporated many small habits that should be easy to carry with me always.

Rebecca is an amazing instructor here, I cannot rave about her enough! I’m not amazing at yoga but I’m really picky on what I look for in a class and Rebecca’s classes are better than my expectations. I was drawn to this studio because of the very reasonable new student special- 29$ for 2 weeks of any classes you want to try. I was slightly nervous as this is a new studio for me but everyone there was so kind, supportive, and welcoming. I took a Yoga Nidra class and it was so wonderfully relaxing. Alicia was the teacher and was so welcoming and made sure that everyone was comfortable in their practice offering a plethora of supports, modifications and reassurance to practice in a way that feels right for the individual. The website is very easy to access and the owner is so responsive to feedback and questions about the studio or classes. I cannot emphasis enough this was the best experience I could have EVER hoped for.

MBSR with Jeanne Kloeckner has already changed my life and we are only 5 weeks in! I cannot recommend it enough. I had a vague understanding of Mindfulness prior to the class and now I am using both formal and informal practices on a daily basis. These practices do more than relieve stress in my life--they have positively impacted my relationships, my capacity for empathy and understanding, and my relationship with myself, to name a few. Jeanne is absolutely wonderful and a source of patience, love, and kindness. This class can change your life.

This is a wonderful studio with a welcoming, positive energy and a genuine sense of community. I have felt completely at ease here: the instructors offer instruction, but emphasize that what they offer is suggestion--if your body isn't feeling it, if your body needs a different pose or it just needs to be still, that is accepted and encouraged here. Very diverse community with regard to age and ability. No mirrors on the wall, so no tendency to look at yourself or others to see if "you're doing it right", or if you're doing it as well as someone else. A very good variety of classes and topics, as well as times they are offered; additionally, almost all are available to select as online, so if the time doesn't work for you, or if you just want to try the class from your home, you can do so. But I encourage you to come to the studio at some point--you will not be disappointed! Plus, maybe you will be fortunate enough to come on a day when the owner, Joy, brings her adorable and happy dog, Archie--he is a great source of additional feel good vibes!

I used to love going to classes in their beautiful studio, but now I've been receiving the streamed videos. While I miss the camaraderie of yoga in person, I do love the convenience of being able to watch these videos (of a very high quality) for 3 days afterwards. In-person, my favorite teacher was Alicia: I used to walk in the room and practically melt at her feet, because her presence is just that divinely calming! Now that I'm a bit less frantic than in the past due to working more at home, I love Joy's mindful movement classes. Joy has a great video presence and helps me bring so much awareness to my "monkey mind" and my need to always "move on, move faster," etc. I've taught yoga in the past, and I have practiced for 30 years, so I appreciate that they have yoga for all ages and abilities. And all of the teachers seem to take their yoga off the page and bring in yoga philosophy to every aspect of their classes. They are wonderfully wise and HUMAN, and I love witnessing them blossom on their path while I trot along behind on my own quiet journey. These wonderful teachers show us how yoga is a "practice" - and that is precisely the "perfection" (and the joy) of Joy of Yoga.

What a great find while visiting STL. I went to the Soul Power Flow with Keri Kugler. Although I could not do a "Head Stand Yoga" pose. Not sure if most guys could do that anyway, but don't let that deter you from going.
Great teacher and great space. Definitely would go again.

My favorite part of my Sunday is going to Restorative Yoga and Reiki with Alicia! This class allows me to wind down after the weekend and set my intention for the upcoming week. Alicia’s classes are so wonderful because she creates a welcoming environment and has such a calming voice. I LOVE this class especially because there is also Reiki healing offered during it! I also love Alicia’s Yoga Nidra class. Joy of Yoga has a wide range of props to use during your practice to enhance the experience. I highly recommend this studio because all of the instructors are wonderful and the experience is one of the best I’ve found in STL!

Joy of Yoga has become my (across the bridge) home away from home. I normally practice in Saint Charles, but Joy and her staff offer such an amazing variety of classes, workshops, and so much more. Walking into the space is like walking into a dream. The energy I feel when I’m there is not like anything else I’ve ever experienced. It’s a sacred space. I would highly recommend this studio! I’ve only take classes and workshops with Joy and Glenna (who are both mind bogglingly brilliant) but I’m sure every other teacher there is just as wonderful! πŸ’—βœ¨πŸ€ŸπŸ½

I found Joy of Yoga earlier this year when I took a workshop called Yoga for Bigger Bodies. It was an amazing workshop that helped me to learn how to use props to allow me to better get into poses and to feel comfortable going into any yoga class anywhere. This class really helped me to understand how the use of props could take my yoga practice even further. Since then I’ve taken more of their classes and look forward to more workshops. The Yoga instructors I’ve met are kind, knowledgeable and most importantly...very welcoming!! This studio has every prop imaginable for you to use to support your practice in any way. All classes I have gone to, I have seen a wide variety of experience levels in the same class, all ages, men and women. This studio is truly the definition of Yoga for EVERYBODY and Yoga for Every BODY! When you walk into a yoga studio for the first time, your first impression, especially if it is your very first time at a yoga studio, is the most important and with yoga, there is no second chance to make a first impression (in my experience and opinion)! This is a studio I highly recommend and one I will continue to visit and practice at. Thank you for being a Yoga Studio for all!

I have not found a studio in St. Louis quite like Joy of Yoga. A great mix of classes from beginner to experience, as well as mediation and healing arts - you will find exactly what you need here. Also, the workshops are amazing and worth the time to explore. I encourage anyone interested in yoga, meditation, or just needed to de-stress to take at class at Joy of Yoga.

Best combination of Mindfulness and Yoga I have experienced. No idea where the time goes during the class, but one thing I am sure of, I walk out of the class feeling chill, fresh, and peaceful! Is there anything much more important than that?

Great candlelight yoga class. Class is definitely challenging, the teacher was really great, and helpful but not really hands on. She was great at giving instruction when i was off course. Maybe a little too advanced for intermediate yogis, unless you're looking for something around the difficulty of pilates.

Joy and the other instructors are so fantastic. I've been to other studios, and none even compare. They know so much about the practice, about the human body, and are so patient and helpful in teaching how to do the best practice for your body, not how to do a backbend or put your foot behind your head. I'm so glad I was introduced to the studio by a friend. Highly recommended!

Fantastic studio! Welcoming instructors provide a comfortable environment to practice, explore, and learn. All levels welcome, from their beginner "Yoga Virgins" series to specialty workshops that focus on specific needs like your low back & SI joint. A variety of styles are offered from many different types of teachers. Classes vary, from challenging to build heat and core strength, all the way to restorative and restful. You are certain to find a favorite, or possibly discover something new and unexpected, like a guided meditation on a "Full Moon" class, that you didn't even know you needed.

I'm so glad I took the risk and tried this place this past December. This has been my best experience yet in my Yoga journey! I love the times they offer classes and the amount of classes they offer.

I have been to classes with several of the instructors and have loved them all! They all bring their unique teaching style but consistently the classes have been wonderful. I love that they always ask if there is anything in particular that people want to work on. They are great at noticing and giving suggestions on alignment during and after the classes.

Other than how relaxed I feel with all of the instructors I love that they honor us as individuals and help cater each pose so that we can get the most out of it! Before going here my experience with yoga was more exercise class of "one size fits all". My practice(still beginning) is evolving and I'm realizing how important it is to adapt to where I'm at. I seriously love this place! Also the studio is really nice (and clean)!

I was referred to this yoga studio by close friends and family, and I am hooked! No matter who the teacher, I always feel like I get a great workout in the "Open" class. The teachers like to know their students' names and ask for input from students on what the needs of the class are that day, so the class is always different. I love that Joy and Annie always end the class with a sweet and inspiring verse or poem, too. A class at Joy of Yoga is the perfect way to start your day, or the perfect way to end it.

I have been in most of the yoga studios in Saint Louis, and I chose to make Joy of Yoga my home studio, because it does feel like home. All of the instuctors are warm and welcoming. It is a judgement free studio, with teachers that meet you where you are on that day. I highly recommend them, especially if don't feel like you meet the yoga norm and don't know how to start. Just one of Joy's gentle yoga classes will make you feel so good you will ask yoursef why you didn't start yoga earlier.
