This gym has everything I need. The equipment is in good repair, there's plenty of benches, barbells, free weights, and five different areas to get your squat on. Everytime I have worked out the gym has been very clean.

However; the reason I gave them five stars is because of Taryn, the manager. I was having trouble figuring out how to set up a day pass, and when I spoke to her on the phone she took time away from her doctor's appointment, on her day off to help me. Truly going "above and beyond" my expectations as a gym patron.

Overall it has been the easiest gym sign up I've ever done. No half hour tour, no car salesman tactics to buy training sessions. Just outstanding customer service. I am very satisfied to be training here.

I came in to cancel my month to month membership on June 24 and signed a document for that cancellation. I was still charged June 26 because of the notice clause which is fine. However I was charged again on July 26 and reached out to them to resolve the issue and they have still not responded. Why are gym memberships always so scummy?

I'm not someone that knows he needs the gym, gets a membership, then never goes. I've had two memberships, one I used years ago for a short time when I had someone to go with me, and now this one at Metro KC. I had my membership well over a year, only ever visiting to get my fob. I passed by the gym anytime I took the bus to and from work, but never went inside, always thinking I would someday.

A couple weeks back one of the guys staying with me intimated he could use a gym, and wished he could afford a membership. So me, knowing I could use a buddy, for him one. We went, and while I appreciated him going with me, found that I actually liked the space. Don't get me wrong, I knew it was a good place, I have several friends that go here, but I was mmm scared, perhaps embarrassed, to go alone.
I now go by myself when he isn't able to join me, and I absolutely love working out now.

It's not fancy with tons of crazy equipment that scares the bejeesus out of me. It's small, well appointed, clean, and the other folks simply let you do your thing and don't bug ya (staring, wanting to "help", y'all know what I mean). I can do my circuit, feel better about life, and simply enjoy what is available. Being 48 and only spending small snippets of time on my body I have no goal really, just doing my thing and seeing what happens. Isn't that what's important, just having fun and enjoying the journey?

The Downtown location is much larger than it appears on its Instagram page. I took a tour before starting my membership, and the staff member who showed me around was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the available gym equipment and membership options. The gym coaches are also approachable and well-informed, making the experience even better.

One suggestion I have is to offer 1 or 2 free day guest passes for members, which would be a great addition to the membership benefits.

i recently joined metro kc fitness and i love it! my home gym is the downtown gym but they also offer options for their other locations which is great. the staff is very kind and helpful. the fact that it is open 24 hours really allows me to still visit the gym, all the gyms i have been to previously closed at 10 or even 9 and i get off work late so it was hard to balance. also the classes are a really nice addition! really recommend!

A down-to-earth gym with all your standard equipment plus new things to try out. There's 4 squat racks, a smith machine, ample treadmills/cardio equipment, free weights, and lots of accessories. Let’s be honest you get what you paid for. Place can get packed in the afternoon and there is like zero ventilation as it gets hot and stinky. Place is hardly clean. You would think they would hire someone to clean the restrooms at least. Machines are okay doesn’t look like they do any type of maintenance honestly. I’ve been going here for a couple weeks now, and I am really happy with the Downtown location! The staff is very friendly and helpful. While it does get busy around 5pm or so, getting a good workout in is still really manageable. I love that it’s 24 hours, so that way I don’t feel like I have to go during the peak hours too.

The only improvement I would make is replacing the really pointy material on the floor in the glutes/stretching room. If I get off center on my mat, that stuff pokes at my skin and gives me a rash!

But other than that, very happy with the gym and the price I pay to use it.

The pricing isn’t bad either, The ONLY reason why I would say 4 stars is because of the water fountain it comes out hot for some reason, you either will have to bring or pay for it (via vending machines).

Worst management! They overcharge and they lie about how your contract will actually be. All they do is argue when you try to resolve stuff with them too. We had a month to month contract and so after it ended they tried to keep charging us and instead of communicating they just keep trying to charge us. Save yourself the time and go to another gym like the foundation which is worth the money!

I’m adding on from my previous comment. Our contract states after the 12 months were up it is month to month and if we didn’t pay the membership ends. One I did not EVER sign a contract as I was told I was added to one so I do not have a contract to be after. Two go ahead and read the first few sentences again bc that was my husbands contract which I have and it does say it would end if we didn’t pay not that we have a debt collection after us. This gym doesn’t care about anything but money. I gladly explained and even offered the contractor to the debt collectors and they were very nice and helpful. Again this gym IS NOT WORTH IT!

Crooked people at the downtown location I fell behind on three payments didn’t realize they stopped charging my debit card I made a payment and the next day they charged my card $184 tacked on extra charges and then canceled my membership I would advise to not use this gym there are way better gyms that offer a lot more accommodations for half the price and way better facilities I wish I could give zero stars because that’s what they deserve

I don't know how this place has so many high star reviews. I came here 5 days a week for almost a full year, and if you're looking for a gym that is over crowded at most times of day and where the staff does minimal to help when it actually matters, this is the place.

This gym did nothing when money was stolen from my LOCKED locker, this gym did nothing when someone twice my size tried to fight me because I asked to use a bench they were using a place to sit down, and they did nothing when a random man was caught taking pictures of my girlfriend. I reached out via email and phone about all of these things multiple times and was not helped at all. When I told them I wanted out of my membership deal because I didn't feel they had held up their end of the bargain in being a gym subscription, they told me to come in and give them MORE MONEY.

As with most things in life, if it's the cheapest option, it's probably that way for a reason. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else in town. This place doesn't care about your patronage or you, they just want to sign up more memberships even though they have been well over capacity for awhile now.

I’m a regular here at the downtown location, and while I love everything else about the gym, for the last several months the women’s restroom/locker room has been consistently neglected. It seems nastier each time I’m here. It’s pretty frustrating because it didn’t use to be that way, but now there is only one out of three toilets that is working (which is always filthy). The others have been out of order since last year. Same with the soap dispensers, and instead of fixing them or buying new ones, they just plopped giant jugs with pumps on the counters, which are filthy as well. The floors of the entire locker room are disgusting and grimy, but they’re the worst in the toilet area where toilet paper, and drips of God knows what are all over the walls, floors, and toilet seats. Again, I love this gym, so it’s a huge disappointment every time I walk into the restroom. It seems like they stopped regularly cleaning or even looking at the bathrooms about six months ago.

We recently moved to KCMO, and Metro KC Fitness was the ONLY gym we could find that checked all of our boxes:

• Open 24/7
• Located downtown
• Plenty of equipment.
- There are, of course, busy times of day.
But even then we have access to
everything and can get a full workout
in within a reasonable timeframe.
• *AFFORDABLE*
- Seems like every other gym is $50-
$100/mo. Not Metro KC 🙌🏼

Always enjoy my time working out here. Definitely recommend it.

KC Metro Fitness Downtown is an overall great gym that offers 24/7 access and lots of updated equipment. It isn’t the biggest location in the chain and can get a bit crowded during peak hours, but with the ability to go whenever you want it makes up for that. Not to mention that the staff is great and very friendly, facility is always clean, and you get access to a parking garage so you never have to search all over for parking. Would recommend 👍🏽

Always get a good workout in and Having a baby and bringing her in everyone is so nice and welcoming and brings such a good energetic environment. My husband and I talked to the Matt about the membership for household and he said we were able to have one membership with both our names for a good price, by far the best and only gym we'll ever go to.
