Underwhelming as far as YMCA's go... However the staff are very welcoming and polite! Always polite with great energy... It's an old building, small with a lot of character... They have a pool with 4 Olympic lanes as well as a water slide, a midsized gym, full basketball court and a halfsize indoor track. 3 stars for the building but the staff make it a 4...

My daughter has attended the YMCA O’Fallon day camp for the past 3 years without any major issues…until last week. On Thursday, while she was dancing to some music being played, two other kids in her group pretended to shoot guns at her and told her to sit down. When I picked her up that day she got into my car and was in tears over what had happened.
I immediately called and left a voicemail for the camp director, making it clear I expected to hear back to discuss how this type of behavior could be tolerated, especially with adults and numerous volunteers present. By the end of Friday, I still hadn’t received a call back, so I sent an email reiterating that I expected to hear from her on Monday.
It’s now Monday evening, and I still have not been contacted. This lack of response is unacceptable. Not only was the inappropriate and disturbing behavior ignored, but the failure to follow up for several days shows a serious lack of care for the safety and well-being of the children in their program.
We will NEVER be returning to YMCA O’Fallon day camp, and I will be escalating this until I can speak to someone in leadership. If your child’s safety and emotional well being matter to you, I urge you to think twice before sending them here.

If I could give no stars for this day camp, I would. My grandson attended this camp and forgot his water one day when there were heat advisories. They never called his parents who would have immediately made sure he had water. The staff did not supply water and my grandson was crying and parched when picked up. This was such a serious mistake for the YMCA to make in keeping their campers safe. I cannot express how horrified I am with how he was treated. He is 7 years old. Needless to say, he never returned and never will.

No matter what, DO NOT send your kids to their camp. They denied my son easy access to water on a day with extreme heat, leaving him dehydrated and distressed. Their lack of care or concern for the wellbeing of kids was striking. They enroll way too many kids and are not able to provide proper care. Their camps are a disaster waiting to happen.

I’ve been trying to get a simple issue resolved since April with no response. I followed up multiple times and even told David I would leave a review if I continued to be ignored—so here we are.
This place has a massive employee turnover rate, and it shows. No one follows up, and communication is almost nonexistent.
If you cancel your membership, beware: they’ll still charge you for the following month, even if you cancel well before the next billing cycle.
And do not put your child in their before/after-school program. Young kids are grouped with much older children, and there are only two staff members watching over 30+ kids. It’s completely unstructured and unsafe.
My child was hurt multiple times. As a kindergartener, she had the wind knocked out of her by a much older boy—and no one from the actual organization reached out to inform me. At best, you’ll get a brief incident report from an after-care worker. Otherwise, you’ll hear about it from your child on the way home.
In one especially alarming incident recently, my daughter was repeatedly hit by another boy during morning care. No one intervened. She was sent to class in tears. It was her school teacher who noticed, sent her to the nurse, and the nurse had to walk down and tell the before-care staff that what happened was not okay—and that they should have notified me immediately and treated her injury on the spot.
I’m actually having my daughter switch schools entirely because of the bullying she experienced in Y Club—with no support, no resolution, and no recourse.
The summer camp is also no better. I pulled my daughter after a couple weeks. She came home with sunburn from scalp to toes and was suffering from heat exhaustion. The kids are outside all day unless they’re swimming or using the restroom. Most of the staff are teens who are clearly not trained or supervised. They don’t remind or encourage kids to apply sunscreen, reapply it, or stay hydrated. Most of the time, the staff were just chatting with each other instead of actually watching the kids.
This place is a liability waiting to happen. Save yourself the stress—and protect your child—by going elsewhere.

Do not bother signing up for their swim class. They randomly combine classes together 8 kids in one lane. The kids doesn't have any space swim. Instructor spend the whole time socializing, barely watching students or providing feedback. At chesterfield has way better instructors and never combine classes. We won't be coming back here.

It’s been about a year since I joined the Y and it has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I’m recently (semi) retired and glad to say I’ve used the time to take better care of myself. I’ve consistently come three times a week to use the weight machines and get some follow up cardio in the gym.
Were it not for one unfortunate element I could easily make this a 5-start review. Unfortunately, more often than not, I'm "forced" to listen to something called "Hit Nation Junior" from I Heart Radio. This is branded as "Kids Pop. Disney Junior Hits; all your favorites from Disney Junior ; Friday Night Dance Party." Given that the average age in the room when I'm there is 50++, I can't fathom why staff there thinks this is a good idea.
I've brought it to their attention multiple times to no avail and that's very disappointing.

Oh my goodness this particular YMCA is not kid friendly at all. We’ve gone to other YMCA’s where anything on the deck they allow you to use with children like their kickboards and pool noodles. At this YMCA they got all over us if you even tried to use anything like that. Yet they only allow you to bring a pool noodle. The older folks at this location resented the kids in the pool and they make no bones about it. We have one gal exercising up and down the side in the shallow end, which was the only end that the kids could jump into us, and we waited till she was clearly out the way, but she chewed us out .She insisted that they shouldn’t be jumping to us, even though they were allowed to. This place isn’t even remotely kid friendly as I felt like every time we turned around we were being corrected for something.

I am super disappointed at this facility. Their pool isn't that big, their classes fill up quickly and the workout room is dangerous. I pay less for planet fitness or the rec plex. They also started charging a credit card without my permission. I had to get a new card number. Somehow they got a hold of that credit card number without my permission and started charging that card. I'm extremely upset about that.

I attended this Y for nearly 2 years 5 days a week. I spent 100% of my time in the exercise area. There was a lot of woman on woman bullying from other members and personal trainers. Unless you’re paying for personal training or group classes, you will be pushed out of spaces. Overall, I have never experienced such an uncomfortable gym culture. If you’re looking for a friendly and accepting place to grow physically and mentally, I would pick a different gym. Shoutout to the front desk and all the child watch employees because they were genuinely awesome.

YMCA manages the before and after school care for my child's elementary school. They charge an absurd rate for care, will bill you for days there is no school, and charge you a $75 registration fee every year.
All of this while paying their workers starvation wages. If you are considering using Y-Club for your child's before/after school care, I implore you to look elsewhere. There are daycares in the area that offer the service with better rates and flexibility.
You are probably better off grabbing a random teen off the street, paying them decently, and having them care for your child than funding this predatory organization.

Absolutely horrible experience for our first time using our membership. Tried to take my kids swimming and I was sitting on the side. An extremely rude lady with glasses told me I needed to be in the pool with them. Ok fine, I got in the pool. She goes into the office and one minute later a manager comes out and asks me what the problem is. I looked at him dumbfounded and said we had no problem. He then tells me I’m not allowed to be there bc a camp is coming in 5 minutes. No sign of a camp. Not sure why I was kicked out, I did absolutely nothing wrong. I’ll be canceling my membership today since the main reason I have it is for my kids to swim and I won’t be patronizing a place with such rude and inconsiderate staff.

YMCA - O’Fallon has become an integral Part of my life. Day feels incomplete without making a visit to this place at least once during the day.
I was a person who used to do heavy gym weights and thought that it’s the way to be fit (dumb right!!!) After joining Y, I met some really good instructors, nutritionists who really know what works for an individuals body, their personalized programs and wide varieties of functional, cross training classes helped me a lot to loose the extra pounds that too with a smile on my face. I don’t do crash dieting, I don’t starve but I make sure to burn every bit of unwanted calorie that I intake during the day. Y taught me that being healthy is a lifestyle and not just a passing trend. I reduced 16 pounds in 7 months and continue to do so...
Moving into a new city is difficult if you don’t know people around. I made some amazing friends who made my life so easy and fun.
Y is my second home!!

My husband, daughter and I are currently members and love the facility...from the workout setting to the pool. We currently have a swim instructor whom is really knowledgeable and helpful with making us comfortable with swimming. My daughter has participated in the summer camp and after school club and loves both programs...even though the prices seem a bit extreme for both the specialty and regular camps (based on the services offered in STL city for less money) she loves being around her school friends and meeting new friends. We have encountered a few racial situations that WE feel should have or could have been handled a little differently. All in all...the facility and staff is GREAT!

Membership team at this YMCA is very friendly and willing to whatever it takes to help members. The YMCA has so many great programs from babies to seniors which I think is great. In addition, it is always so clean.

The people at the Y in O'Fallon are awesome. They always make me feel welcomed when I come in to workout. My nieces love the swim lessons and playing volleyball! I'm on my moms family membership so it's nice to come workout as a family and stay fit. The child care staff don't just sit around and watch your kids play they actually play with them and teach them the letter of the day! I highly recommend being a member at the Y!

My family loves the Y especially the indoor pool. My daughter learned to swim at the O'Fallon Y and it has made our summers boating much more enjoyable because of the confidence she gained and the skills she learned there. Thank you!

Love this place! Been a member for 5 years. Not only a great place to work, a great place to enroll kids in character building sports programs but also a great place for community. There are a lot of great places you can go to get these three things but the O'Fallon YMCA is all of these things in one place!

I do not and WILL NOT recommend YMCA to anybody! I am 8 months (high risk) pregnant right now and my husband had surgery on his bicep/shoulder last month. Before all these, we had our membership on hold because I was out of the country for over a month and my husband was so busy with work and life having to do everything by himself here in the U.S.
We didnt know my husband was gonna have a surgery and that I am gonna be pregnant before we requested the first membership hold or else we would have just cancelled our membership.
April 2019, they started charging us again. We explained to them and requested to put our membership on hold again for few more months because of our current situations. It's not that we couldnt afford the membership but it would be stupid to keep paying for something we're not going to use because we CAN'T PHYSICALLY DO IT. Like I said, I am a high risk pregnant patient and my husband just had bicep surgery and is still going through Physical Therapy and was told by his Doctor to not carry anything over 2lbs.
YMCA had the audacity to ask for a doctors note and then told us "they will do a one time courtesy of $5/month as a holding fee".
For one: YMCA, my husband does NOT work for you for your director to ask for a Doctors note. 2. We are the clients! You work for us! And finally, how dare you question our integrity? Why would we lie and spend time to try to reach out to you guys to explain the situation? We could have just easily cancelled our membership but we originally did not want to do that as we we're planning to stay with YMCA once my husband is recovered and I recovered after the birth of our child. After the ridiculous email from Luaren Wilson, the YMCA's membership sales director (O'Fallon), it showed us that they are not a True Christian organization. We will never step foot at any YMCA again and we will never recommend this company to anybody! It is ridiculous that they want us to provide a doctors note as to why we cant go to the gym. Again, 1 had bicep surgery and 1 is a high risk 8 month pregnant patient and they expect us to keep going to the gym or pay $5 monthly hold fee. Again, it's not the money, it's the principle. Don't be telling us you guys are sorry about our situation but we will still charge you. Not a good Christian practice!
Update: 05/04/19
I am appalled by how this company responded to my husband! Matt Jones, the executive director of this location emailed my husband with a threatening tone! Acting like we are harrasing Lauren. My husband only responded to her email once and that was it. We never made contact with her after that.
He also called my husband ignorant. This "Christian" organization calling (x)customers ignorant. Not only did he call my husband ignorant, he also accused my husband of contacting his employee via her personal Facebook which is a blatant LIE! My husband reached out to the YMCA Public Facebook page and not to anybody's personal Facebook. When I asked him to send me proof of this alleged "contact" like a screen shot of the alleged conversation, he refused to send anything and asked us to set up an appointment with him instead. Of course, coz he's got nothing!
This executive director is very arrogant and rude! I cannot believe the nerve of this person to accuse a customer like that AND THEN CALL SOMEONE IGNORANT!
No wonder they have low reviews and some employees dont know how to deal with people. It starts from the (no)leadership.
Avoid this place at all cost. Rudest director of any business I have known.
P.S
Watch out for some of the "5 stars" reviews and really listen to the legit reviews of people with real HORRIBLE experiences from YMCA OFallon. Majority is saying the same stuff because it's true. Matt Jones aggressively emailing us and calling my husband ignorant and Lauren Wilson feeling entitled to ask for a doctors note and these are the directors for this location. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay away from this place.

The YMCA O’Fallon is a community that accepts diversity of all people and does so much to help people become healthier, stronger and to live a happier life .. My family of five uses the facility in some shape or form either by the amazing group exercise classes, the incredible competitive swim team and many other programs that are offered .. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly and the instructors of Zumba , Spin , BodyPump and many other classes are offered are the best !! The competitive swim team, coaches and family are just wonderful in every way .. It is a place where you see people of all ages , race , and culture embrace health, wellness and leading a active lifestyle!! I am thankful to see improvements being made throughout the facility because the environment counts and matters when it becomes your “ home away from home “ The members and community are truly what makes this place shine !! We have had a family membership for several years and I can honestly say because of the awesome accountability of other members and off the chart group exercise instructors I’ve never been this consistent in my health and fitness journey! Thank you to each and every one that contributes and works at the YMCA O’Fallon to make it an awesome place !!

I have been a member for a while now, most of the time the membership isntisused. Today i get a call stating they are cancelling my membrrship at the end of the month. My debit card was comprised and my payment yesterday didn't go through. I called and explained and staff member was not very nice. In all the time I have gone there I haven't found anyone very pleasant. When you check in the staff are too busy talking amongst themselves to even acknowledge you! So much for community atmosphere.

Incredibly rude and unprofessional management at this YMCA.
Absolutely terrible staff at the YMCA O'Fallon Mo. Office. There are a few friendly staff members, but the leadership/management is absolutely terrible. The membership Director Lauren Wilson actually requested that I provide a medical note as to why I hadn't been in the gym. This was after I emailed her and told her I had bicep and shoulder surgery! I cannot believe the nerve of some people. I'm not sure where these folks come from, but this is not how businesses, especially Christian businesses, should act. Avoid this place like a plague!

Probably one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I’m waiting to talk to a front desk lady and she ignores me and talks to seemingly long time members or friends. As I wait there for a couple minutes. I still get ignored as other members come by and she says hello. Didn’t even get an acknowledgement as I left l.
