Growing up I used other gyms, but recently I moved to the southside. I decided that Planet Fitness would be the best choice for me distance and price wise.

Turns out I was right, and I have been pleasantly surprised. Always had it in my head that PF was not for the professional gym goers like myself, but I see plenty of others there. We come in do our work, and have a clean environment to do it.

In the last month and half I have been going here I have gone 58 times, as per my handy PF app they came out with.

Allowing me to not only keep track, but also show my progress visually. One of the workers Jorge constantly encourages me to do more, and to push myself.

The manager Apollo does a great job coordinating staff, and remembering members. Takes a great deal of care into the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility. Which shows.

I just turned 30 I've been working out since I was 15, and I felt like I needed to get back on track with my fitness. I feel like I'm stronger than I ever was before.

I've been a member for over a year now and Planet Fitness has been one of the better values I spend my money on each month. Many gyms I've been a member of in the past, the staff act like you're an inconvenience, particularly if you're not one of the befriended regulars. So far, I've yet to have a less-than-stellar experience with the staff. They're always friendly and treat you like a welcomed member. They acknowledge you when you're leaving and say goodbye. When you ask for help, they're happy (or great at acting) to assist. Also, despite being busy sometimes, you can usually get access to the equipment you need if not immediately, after a very short wait.

Stopped in this morning on my way down the interstate. Staff seemed nice, place was clean. I use the pulley systems, and they all looked new. For a PF it is definitely above average.
Issues.
Definitely need window shades for the morning sun.
The shower area. This seems to be across all PF's, so I can't fault them for this. It would be nice if they moved each changing cubicle over to connect to each associated shower. That way all your stuff stays with you.

The equipment and facilities are great, but what keeps me coming back are Apollo and his extraordinary staff. A few months ago, a friend came to town and asked to accompany me to Planet Fitness. When we got there, he had questions about the equipment. Apollo himself worked with my friend, spending quite a bit of time with him. My friend was flabbergasted that the manager took so much time to work with him. He said the Planet Fitness in his city was staffed by college students more interested in reading magazines and talking than helping patrons. I was able to tell him that the excellence he experienced was an everyday occurrence at Apollo's Planet Fitness. From the first rate equipment and facilities to the extraordinary people, this is an extraordinary place.

Twice I asked 2 different employees about the total body enhancement and twice they had absolutely no clue. Decided to look it up myself and try it this morning. Checked in and the employee said it had to be cleaned. I got there right at opening so I know it hadn’t been used yet. Actually using it, the lights were barely even a shade of red. They were blinding. It’s not a tanning booth. Also they require your bank info instead of a card so that’s hundreds of dollars a year I earn zero points on my card. Lastly, I have this membership because I called them and had them switch my wife’s account to me. They never even contacted her. Our last names aren’t the same and they just let me do it without hesitation. Whomever is in charge of the staff clearly needs to not be in charge of the staff.

Edit: and now whomever’s responsibility it is to respond to google reviews wants me to do further work, rather than just looking into the above issues. What an absolute joke.

I went in to cancel my membership 9 months ago and the manager told me I could freeze the acct for 6 months. If I still wanted to cancel, I could. 9 months later I realize they have been charging me for the last 3 months. When I called, the manager was not available and the gentleman I spoke with proceeded to tell me rudely that I was not getting my money back. The manager did not inform me when I wanted to cancel and he talked me into freezing the account, that I would have to return in 6 months to prevent being charged. I expressed my frustration, which caused the gentleman on the phone to become frustrated. I'm not a big fan of companies lying to their customers in order to milk more money from them. I will be contacting the attorney general, which is a shame I have to do that in order to be treated fairly.

My only "negative" is that I don't think that the flooring in the shower area is appropriate. I realize that it should be water resistant, but I have slipped on it several times despite using caution. I have taken dozens of showers at the other location in town and never slipped.

Do you know how incredibly frustrating it is to get completely undressed to tan and then the employee doesn’t end up turning on the bed for use? It has happened on several occasions. I’ve had to get redressed and go back to the front desk and ask them to turn on the bed. Today was the last straw!

Make sure you call ahead if you want to sign up, Because they'll make you wait outside til a manager comes in because you're not a member. The Manager was less than thrilled that I was there, and majority discouraged me from getting my work discount telling me how horrible the paperwork was going to be. Then he offered the $10 a month plan which costs over 80 to get started. Then he tried to sell me the black card package which almost all of the amenities are not wheelchair accessible. This is not a friendly place if you're on a budget or if you work retail, they are simply not good for the common folk.

I went to planet fitness excited for a great workout. I headed over to the smith machine to do my skull crushers, but to my dismay, I quite literally crushed my skull. As my insides bled out I quickly began to accept the fate that I would perish in the middle of a planet fitness on a Monday evening. To my surprise, my heroine Chrissy came to my aid, swaddling my head in cloth, momentarily stopping my bleeding. As I nodded out of consciousness, she decisively grabbed the defibrillator and shocked me back into consciousness moments before my final breath. Chrissy then fireman carried me into her lambo and drove me to the hospital in less than 5 minutes whilst still having time to stop along the way to save a kitten trapped atop a tree. Chrissy has my utmost respect for going above and beyond as a planet fitness employee and should be getting paid no less than $20 an hour for her bravery that she displays everyday on the job.
