Disrespectful staff. They forbade me to make a video of my own workout. Also, when I was taking a shower after the workout, they started kicking me out. They didn't even let me dress properly and leave the club. I've never had this in any Planet Fitness. This is the first time I've encountered such disrespectful attitude and communication.

The windows and mirrors are always dirty, the showers are never available, and the A/C is CONSISTENTLY horrible, making your entire workout awful... paying to work out inside but it'd be better outside because at least there's a cooler breeze. Can it just not keep up or do they intentionally keep it high to get people out faster? 🫠 I don't know, but this location is definitely a last resort.

The showers at this planet fitness are pathetic I've seen better and cleaner ones in a horror movie at a campground in the woods
Only two showers have shower curtains and one of them that is there is only a half curtain and it is covered in mold
The spray itself is terrible you have to move yourself around and dance in the shower to get wet

I spoke with the assistant manager and was told that they have addressed everything and have sent it in for repairs who knows when it will be done

I also told him that I was going to post this review and he said "yeah I guess you should"

I want to start out saying that I travel for business, and utilize Planet Fitness locations in Thirty states. This is a good place to work out, but the men’s showers are a disaster. Two of them don’t have shower curtains, and the one that does have a shower curtain – the shower curtain is covered in brown mold, and the showerhead is clogged with scale, with the water just barely trickling out. In the over 100 planet fitness locations that I visit, this is the only one that does not have a functioning men’s shower. I brought this to the managers attention and I was quickly dismissed, and my complaint downplayed

I really like this gym all the workers are friendly and help out when I go at 11 am/noon it’s not packed and they got plenty of working tvs to keep you occupied while exercising. I have the membership card so I can tan and use the massage chairs and it’s only around 28 bucks a month. 👍

Tanning beds need a major deep clean. I spoke to the manager about it, and she said they don't do that. She suggested I tan in the stand-up beds instead. Just clean it! Ugh.

I really enjoy the staff at this PF. They often greet and tell me good bye so I feel very welcomed. There's one training who has taken a personal interest in me. When he sees me, he asks what I am working on that day. And, then he lets me know if he has any suggestions. He doesn't try to change my routine, but he's given me small, valuable tweaks. So yeah, great job!

Pro— The employees always go out their way to meet and greet. And they make sure it’s a welcoming environment. Never had any issues the years I’ve been coming here.

Cons—- for some reason they don’t have an eye for cleanliness. Rather if it’s a mountain of dust or dirt on the floor or empty paper towel holders. It seem be overlooked more here than other locations I’ve been too.

The clerks are some of the best and more respectful people I’ve ever deal with. It’s not an easy task to be dealing with people, but they make it seem so easy, very respectful and truly encourage when assisting us the customers. At the end of the day we are all humans and they treat you like that and beyond. It’s not always the inner self that motivates us to do what we need to do at the gym, but people like this at the Independence gym, helps achieve the very much necessary support to come back and feel welcome. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. When I felt insecure about being drenched in sweat and likely not smelling my best, they reassured me that it was absolutely fine; it’s a gym, after all, and everyone gets sweaty. The facility is surprisingly clean and well-organized; I rarely see weights out of place, and members are diligent about wiping down the equipment. I definitely recommend this location, especially for those who are new to the gym experience and may feel a bit self-conscious.

I rejoined recently and I really wish I could use this location as it's on my way to and from work and I work nites but unfortunately, this location isn't a 24hr weekday location.
Id like to point out that there isn't a 24 hr weekday location on the east side of the city. Not even in blue springs.

I voiced a concern to staff at the reception desk today because Planet Fitness has removed FOX news and CNN from the television channels. Why, 99 days before a major election would management decide to take News off the screens????? I explained that I like to flip back and forth so that I will know the issues before November. The staff told me that they hadn’t noticed this change and that they didn’t know the reason for this modification. Interestingly, they said the man who was just at the counter was “very irritated” about the same issue.

Time to cancel membership. I've been waiting over a month for them to fix the water bottle dispenser. Asked the so called manager and she didn't know. I dont want to fill up my bottle where the mouth goes. It shouldn't take over a month to fix and there shouldat least be a another water fountain. Well Genesis here I come. It has great employees but I think that the placement of the machines is a bit annoying. Like the ab machines, there's only one ab crunch machine so why not move it from across the whole place and move it with the other ab machine.

Gotta start going to the other location. They either are unwilling or incapable of fixing things on South Noland. Multiple leg machines broken for months. The preacher curl machine had bloodstains on it because of the ripped vinyl the other day. Broken handles on some machines. Water filter broken now too. No idea how long it will take to get fixed. Has a lot of potential and the staff is very nice. But there's very little effort put in by the powers that be in the upkeep of the equipment.

Otr truck driver stopped in to utilize my black card membership. Initially when I arrived the younger gentleman were respectful and inviting as expected. Towards closing I was rushing to get a quick shower in before I hit the road. and didn’t notice the signs saying showers were closed. (Was rushing) older gentleman decided to continuously press me after I apologized about missing the sign and came off yelling and disrespectful:. As if I’m not a paying member. What happened to keeping your professionalism in the workplace. The other two remained respectful all the way. Not often do I miss these kind of things but if I do. I never experienced nothing like this at any other location across country. Definitely would like to escalate this issue. Thanks 🙏🏿

Plenty of cardio machines if thats your thing.
The massage area is nice and the wait to use it isnt very long.
Lots of tanning rooms that ive never seen anyone use.
Not near enough weight lifting equipment to go around and sometimes there are bullies hogging several of them at the same time.
Over all its not bad but its not great either.
Its good for the cost but like the old saying goes "you get what you pay for"

I love the proximity to my house and to area shopping and gas stations. Additionally, although there could be a wait time for popular equipment in the main part of the gym, there are a variety of equipment (free weights and stationary) available and the 30 minute circuit is generally always available and, parking is always available, the facility is kept clean by the employees and patrons (cleaning supplies are stocked!!) , the staff always greet you are friendly and helpful, and the patrons are a nice diverse crowd in age, ethnicity and fitness levels. The price is exceptional for my budget and I I love my buddy pass with my membership, ability to use any gym nationwide and the massage equipment. I wish they had a swimming pool-it would be perfect.
