If you thought you would be able to use the gym after paying ur annual membership dues you would unfortunately be incorrect. This specific PF Franchise took 53$ dollars out of my account which reminded me of my membership, I decided if I'm paying for it i should get back into the gym regularly. I went to check in this morning and they told me my account wasn’t active therefore I could not work out, i showed them that they had taken my money just days before and provided my banking statement. It feels scammy and unethical to take peoples hard earned money and not provide the service they paid for. I cancelled my membership and i Urge you to not sign up for the Planet fitness scam and to find a gym that has better business practices if you would like to break a sweat from working out rather than sweating to make up for lost money.

I recently joined this gym a month ago the location in Independence and its a joke. I called to see if they could help me with my acct and they told me no that the manager was out until September 8th. I asked for a corporate number and they said they didn't have it. I went to tan and the bed looked dirty and I had to go back to the front desk to have them clean it. Then I tried the red light stand up booth, I got in the booth and they never started the bed, so I got dressed and went back to the front counter to find the two people behind the counter joking around and dancing. I called planet fitness on Noland road and she immediately helped me with my account. I am moving my membership from this location. Do better Independence.

The open hours for this location aren't good. A lot of the time you are just hoping the employee who is supposed to open the gym in the morning actually shows up to work on time so it will be open so you can get in before you gave to go to work yourself. Very unreliable location.

Very clean and very nice! The workers are friendly and I feel comfortable working out here. The AC works at this location unlike the other location. The spa area is nice, relaxing, and calming. Wish it was a little bit bigger because it can get busy and crowded but I enjoy going to this location now. I do wish they had another leg press and more barbell smith machines but it gets the job done! Loving this location!

When they are open it’s a wonderful gym. I went to work out this morning at 5:45am and the lights were on but the doors lock and no one answered the phone. The door, the audio recording all say they open at 5am. Thirty minutes round trip to go to a closed gym is unacceptable. Not to mention there were at least fifteen people waiting. This was not the first time they weren’t open during their posted business hours.

Went over the top to ensure that I was satisfied and overall an amazing experience with him! The staff who answered the phone when I asked for a manager was amazing as well not a single bad thing to say about my experience with the staff during a some severe billing issues!

Can't beat the price however; Most people that come here need to learn Gym Etiquette!! Quit walking inbetween occupied machines bumping people mid- rep , couple hoarding equipment for an hour or sitting on equipment using your cellphones for long periods without working out. I love working out a Planet Fitness. The only request I have is they consider following the rest of the facilities by going back to The extended hours. I find now that I work 10-hour days. I'm not able to utilize the full benefits of my membership Because I'm only able to use it 3 days a week. By the time I get off work, this center is closed. Please consider going back to the old hours before COVID.

This is a wonderful location with great staff. Want to give a special shout-out to Jeff. After driving in from Iowa I arrived at the location a little bit after 9:00. I asked him if I could get a tan in for my brother's wedding. He said no problem. By the time I was done it was just a little bit after 9:30. Jeff still allowed me to do the massage chair which was absolutely wonderful after 3 hours of driving. I have seen him several times and he always has a smile on his face and is willing to help. Also this is a very clean and well-kept up location.

** Update 6:22pm 08.30.2024 - THE regional manager will not do anything. It's a trickle down of lack of following a standard of operations. To make it seem as if all the work is being done.

There is no consistency or standards followed by the management team to ensure the people they serve consistently have a clean environment. They have a check off sheet that is supposed to be done hourly. Instead, it filled out days in advance per the district manager. One associates initial for the others that are scheduled during the shift for the days He fills out. If the proper procedures were followed the club would be clean more often than not, there would be actual accountability and the staff member that fills it in for all wouldn't be committing forgery by initialing for people without knowledge or consent.

Hold the management accountable for the lack of care for those they serve.

Generally a really good club...my biggest complaint is how common it is becoming that the club does not open on time. First world problem I know however, my only opportunity to workout is early in the morning. It's hard to chug pre workout on my way to this gym only to get there and have it not open when it should. Just for a point of reference, the last couple times this has happened they have opened 40 mins - 1 hour later.

Everything was super good and clean. Yesterday I went to this place, the place as such was super comfortable and super clean, however the staff was rude. I had forgotten my wallet to pay and I only had my digital wallet but the digitalwallet didn't work at this location. This girl give me a solution but she saying to return to my house, which was 30 minutes away. From this location very disappointed. My gripe is....some employees here will charge you for tanning eyes, some will not. Other locations give them to you. I get that there are independent owners, yet this is what creates variances in the PF name overall. Customers do not care who owns it, nearly as much as being able to have a consistent visit each time, particularly when you are paying for the amenities. I don't tan every day, so why hit someone up for extra change once or twice a week?
I will start using other locations/owners.

By the way, a "reaction" from an "owner" to bring it up to club management????
Just who is more accountable that the owner????? Get in there and demonstrate ownership!

It's a good gym in terms of price, but there's a rather disgusting fact that there are shower worms, they aren't harmful, but they show up in unsanitary bathrooms and showers, so bring flip flops, It has been brought up to the reception a couple times but it never disappears

Kelsey, Brookynn, and Katie all decided that since i had open heart surgery and was paralyzed on my diaphragn that the 4 years i couldnt come to the gym for health reasons that i paid and should have come in, instead the opted to let me know that Veterans with disabilities dont matter because they have 6-7000 members and thats why they are so busy they cannot consider special needs. I think you won me over. The fees are weird and I'd still prefer a single monthly fee, but even with all the fees added together, you are less expensive and nicer than other gyms. Great feel, lighting, size, price, and cleanliness. The only downfall is at 30 minutes before close they shut down the massage capabilities, the total body enhancement, and the tanning beds. Then they shut the TVs off with 15 minutes to spare and to me, this is unprofessional. For these reasons I will only give 4 stars.

They accepted my application on the app and accepted my online contract without coming in and accepted my monthly payment online without any question but then I change jobs and don’t drive that direction and it’s 30 miles out of my way to get there so I try to cancel membership online and NOOOO they don’t accept that. Then I call the location to cancel over the phone and NOOOOO they CAN’T accept canceling over the phone. I’m traveling and can’t get there so they think it’s absolutely fine to charge me for 3 months because I can’t show up in person. At this point I don’t care if they open up a location in my drive way. After that poor customer service and ripping me off for 3 months I will never be a customer of theirs again.
