We stopped by this gym today, and I brought my sister’s son as a guest. The first guy we met was super cool, but then another gentleman showed up with a bad attitude, demanding an ID for an underage guest and acting overly aggressive. You should give his position to someone who knows how to treat gym members. I will not be coming to this place again.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I waited at the front desk for approximately 20 minutes, along with several other customers, waiting for assistance so that we could tan. After no one appeared, I knocked on the door that seemed to lead to the break room. An employee opened the door and immediately spoke to me in a rude and disrespectful manner.

I calmly explained that there was a line at the counter and we had all been waiting for 20 minutes. She responded that she didn’t care because she was not on the clock, and told me not to knock on that door again. When I told her that her behavior was rude and unprofessional and asked for her name so I could speak with management or corporate, she slammed the door in my face.

Shortly after, another employee came to the front, assisted everyone, and provided me with the individual’s name. I would appreciate it if the owner or a member of management could contact me regarding this incident. The entire interaction took place under a security camera, and as a paying customer, I should not be spoken to in such a manner.

This was an embarrassing and unacceptable encounter, and it reflects poorly on the company as a whole. The two other customers who were waiting in line witnessed the interaction and were equally shocked by the employee's behavior. I feel like this interaction should be addressed immediately.

Voy a quitarle 2 estrellas a mi reseña original ya que hoy tuve una situación bastante desagradable:

Cancelé mi suscripción a tiempo, antes del corte de mes, ya que regreso a mi país mañana y solo necesitaba visitar PF por 5 semanas, y anoche recibí un cargo por $53.77 dólares del mantenimiento anual del gimnasio.

Cuando pregunto en PF me dicen que la persona que me atendió para cancelar mi suscripción era nueva y no hizo el proceso correctamente, por lo que mi membresía seguía activa y que PF no puede devolverme el dinero ya que es política de la empresa.

Es decir, por culpa de un empleado que no sabía hacer el proceso de cancelación de membresía
tengo que pagar ese dinero, cuando solo duré 5 semanas en el gimnasio como miembro y precisamente busqué esta opción por su atractivo económico y la publicidad de “cálcela cuando quieras sin gastos adicionales”. Por eso les recomiendo confirmar varias veces su cancelación para evitar este tipo de problemas.

Si algún gerente o empleado de PF puede ayudarme con mi caso para recuperar ese dinero se lo agradecería por favor.

Este año decidí probar este gimnasio, a pesar de algunas críticas negativas que leí, y estoy sorprendido de todas las cosas buenas y positivas de esta sucursal:

- Personal atento en ayudarte y servirte en lo que necesitas. Muy pocas veces encontré el mostrador vacío ya que estaban ocupados limpiando u organizando las pesas.

- Muchos parqueos disponibles.

- Muchas máquinas, aún en la hora pico no tuve que esperar mucho o solo tuve que cambiar de ejercicio mientras se desocupaba la máquina que quería.

- Tuve que dejar mi mochila en el locker, pero con mi ID me prestaron un candado todas las veces que lo necesité para mantener mis pertenencias seguras.

- El baño súper amplio y limpio, aparte de agua y WIFI gratis para todos los usuarios.

- La alarma “Lurk” sonó muy pocas veces, y creo que la usaban al final del día, casi a las 10PM, para informar que ya iban a cerrar.

- Y el precio bastante cómodo, lo más importante para mí en estas vacaciones, ya que traté de buscar 2 opciones más de gimnasio y estaban demasiado caros para mi presupuesto.

Así que SI recomiendo esta sucursal al 100%. Lástima que esta franquicia ya no está en República Dominicana.

Just got a membership today. The young man at the front counter was very inconsiderate and rude. He conversed with my girlfriend and I while chewing and eating a sandwich. As I asked for his assistance with issues we were experiencing on the planet fitness app to check in, he acted as if I as the new customer was a real burden to him. I personally observed customers walk past him and go out on the floor to workout with their gym bags....he chose to tell me of policy that I can not bring my gym bag on the floor, and I reminded him that other customers on the floor had their gym bag what makes those customers right and me wrong? How about if you are going to enforce policy...enforce it fair and equitable across the board not when you choose to. Very disrespectful staff member and poor example of your business. I do live the new facility and equipment. I suggest your management have a conversation with this young man about customer service and respect.

Great place to get in a workout. Its never noisy or over crowded. The machines are typically well kept and I good working order. I wish they had more rope bars though as the one they have often get snatched up. But the staff is always kind and the guy who opens during the weekday is super nice.

Won’t let you carry your bags with you because of “theft” but that’s exactly why I carry my bag with me and not in a locker. I have been interrupted 2 times while in the middle of sets due to stupidity. Canceling my membership and will never be back. I have 6 different equipment pieces in my bag that I use on different machines but they want you to go back to the locker every single time to use stuff. My stuff is more likely to get stolen out of the locker room rather than sitting next to me so that doesn’t make much sense. If there was a negative star I’d give it. Staff was rude as well when letting me know! This is the absolute worst planet fitness I have ever been too. I’ve been going to a different planet fitness for 5 years and just recently switched to this one about 7 months ago because I moved. I will now be switching over to a different one. Not to mention the water bottle machine has been broken for over a month now!

I’m giving 1 star bc of their “lunk alarm” sign. Talk about body shaming. There’s one extreme with shaming people bc they don’t look good. But leave it to planet fitness to tell you, “don’t look too good or else we may lose money and customers.” I’ll keep going here for the sole reason that it’s cheap, but don’t get too in shape otherwise you’re a “lunk” and they’ll kick you out. My husband and I joined yesterday and are very pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Natalia is very energetic and helpful and Rahyme went out of his way to give us a tour of the facility, explain machines and explain the requirements of membership, making sure that if we had any questions, we could come to him and he would help us.We are very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, the number of workout stations and equipment, as well as media to enjoy while you are working out. Planet Fitness on 64th St. in Kansas City is a great place to get your workout in for the day.

There is a dude on staff that identifies as female- they let this dude in the women’s locker room to clean the bathroom EVERY HOUR— without proper signage- that person also uses the same bathroom as the ladies and if you tell them you are uncomfortable with them in there they will ask “why” as if they don’t know they are purposely making you uncomfortable- it’s borderline harassment!!

Beware! Super hard to cancel - scam!!

This is a review for planet fitness nationally, not unique to any location.

IMO the business makes it intentionally super hard to cancel your membership once you give a credit card! Don’t do it!!

lol, they want you to use the app for check-ins, upgrades, you name it! But guess what - you can not cancel!!

You can’t cancel online. You can join. 🤢🤬 you can upgrade. 😤🤯🤬

You can’t call to pause or cancel. I also want able to walk in and do it.

You can call though, get an email address to send a request to and get a suggestion to fax. Is that a thing? I haven’t faxed a damn thing in 20 years?!?

Shame on you @planetfitness corporate - the intentions are shady. Your UX is deliberate. You clearly want to confuse and make it hard to cancel. That sucks.

The "trainer" is a total jerk. He doesn't respect personal space and will "train" people right on top of you while you're trying to work out, to the point where you can't complete a movement or are blocked into a corner.

They also don't make anyone follow the rules in the membership agreement. I come here only because it's close and a cheap place to get in a workout and a tan.

PF used to actually be a decent company, but it has gone downhill since the pandemic shutdown.

*edit to add that most of the crew are good people, they just don't enforce anything.

It's a great gym and amazing membership rates and hours! Right off I-29 and 64th street. Great location and I was impressed that they have Hammer Strength equipment, which I have been looking for. Hands down the best gym equipment. They have tanning beds and stuff I've never even heard of and I've been lifting for over 2 decades now. The technology is changing and they've got it. I'll need a tour tour soon to know everything they have. I was with a friend for a quick lift, but I'm switching to this gym tomorrow!

I came to planet fitness with my daughter and her friend as they have the teen pass. I just wanted to try one day so I called prior to coming and someone told me to bring my ID and I would have to sign a waiver. I got there and they wanted me to pay for the day pass. What really made me mad is the way they tried to dismiss me when I told them what the people on the phone said. I don't know about the gym experience but the customer service is not great.

Found on Nextdoor. This PF location seems to have someone with bolt cutters stealing out of lockers. Bolt cutters are difficult to conceal, but I bet they keep them in their office to cut locks left overnight, just saying. Police need to be investigating this location’s issues, camera footage etc.

Awesome! Small monthly fee for a big return on investing in yourself. Tanning, hydro massage, great staff, cleanliness is next to godliness here, workouts available via planet fitness app, total body enhancement machine that is only available at planet fitness. There is still more but you should visit to truly experience the greatness! I have tried multiple places and planet fitness is the place to be! I have yet to ring The Lunk Alarm.

PF's are really nice, clean facilities with super affordable membership fees. I'm a bit less of a fan since they cut the hours that they're open so drastically during the pandemic. Otherwise, they'd get five stars. Don't expect an intense gym atmosphere, however. They only have light free weights (their heaviest dumbbell is 75 lbs) and no free barbells (only Smith Machines) to dissuade the meat head crowd.
