Has all necessary equipment- cardio, machines, free weights, cables. However the building is very unclean, especially the locker rooms.

First gym I have not felt judged in and that's a total bonus! Great staff, machines always available and tons of variety. I enjoy that there are multiple stair climbers for use. I love the large locker rooms with lockers for my stuff (bring your own lock). Being close to my home and right on the way from my work to home, this gym was a win win. I would recommend this gym to all levels of workout enthusiasts.....

Horrible business.
I was told I was paying for a 12 month membership each month in March 2023. Payments continued to go through up to until October 2024. I was told wrong and manipulated. You have to cancel without disputing the charges as well as provide a written notice to the 3rd party agency that they take payments through. I have since moved away from the area earlier this year and didnβt think twice that it kept taking money out. I donβt need to check my bank account often, so I didnβt notice it. They will make you pay all disputed charges before processing cancellation. If not, the disputes probably wonβt go your way and youβll have to start over again. Just donβt go to this place if you donβt want to deal with that.
Also the 3rd part agency they go through is horrible at customer service. Long wait times and when someone does pick up, itβs like you can hear a tv and lots of extra unprofessional noise.

Although there is a large selection of equipment, they are frequently in poor working order. The men's bathroom stinks, the toilets don't work and neither do the faucets.

Not a good experience at this gym. The system they use for billing is flawed and owner is disorganized. I noticed the monthly billing wasnβt accurate so I went in to correct the issue and had to resolve it through BBB. Joe, the owner, needs behavioral corrections counseling, patience, and professionalism.

Mostly the equipment is outdated, which I don't care about. But also a large portion of it is constantly out of order, which I do care about. I was there for a year. 5 stair steppers, 3 of which were out of order the entirety of that year. The dumbbells are stripped so they are loose as hell from the handle. I once asked the girl who was always at the front desk about them and she dismissed me immediately by saying it was because people keep dropping them and there was no fixing them. Which means, if you read about the steppers, there was no replacing them either. Same girl who wouldn't even bother with a grateuous "hello" when walk in. Which is whatever I'm just trying to lift but I mean come on do the bare minimum. Oh hey they also allow kids to freely rome the gym while you're trying to lift! I once had a kid who could barely walk kick my dumbbells, WHILE I WAS USING THEM! If only this place had a day care, oh wait, they do..... The owner seems a nice enough guy. Dude just has no clue how to run business. He just had to rent out what used to be the free weight area and now all the weights and machines are in one large room, right on top of each other. You have to call a third party company to cancel. Also, the roof leaks when it rains.

This gym is great! The hours are great and staff are friendly.
There are many benches and several squat racks. Not matter how busy the place is, I never have to wait on a machine.
There is also a large cardio area and spacious locker rooms.

3 friends and I came in around the holidays to get a day pass. The price for a day pass used to be $5.00 ,but they had recently changed it to $10.85. We were talking amongst our group seeing if we wanted to pay the $10.85 because we thought it would be $5.00. The lady behind the counter interrupted us and said it had always been that price, which was a blatant lie, because a couple of us used to workout there. Anyways, the owner comes out of nowhere with an attitude saying that it is no longer $5.00 as if we had innconvienced him . Needless to say I think the staff could have been more professional instead of giving us an attitude.

I got a membership through work at a discount23rd price. The discount was not applied so I was paying full price for 6 months. When I told them about it they were nice enough to give me the next 6 months for free due to the double charging the first 6. I signed up for personal training and I love my trainer but I paid for 12 sessions which I did not use before my membership ended due to a knee injury. But they do not give refunds so that is a lot of money wasted. I will not recommend this gym to anyone.

I loved going there but my husband received a free gym membership at another gym and he needed to cancel. I was going to stay a member but at the same time, they took away my favorite teachers' classes and replaced her with teachers from key largo. When we tried canceling it took numerous phone calls between the gym and the billing company with 3 months of being charged. Now, a year later, we have been charged a different random amount and told we never canceled. We haven't been to this gym in a year and the payments had stopped for 9 months then they started again?! It is completely ridiculous and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor, do not go to this gym. All they do is take your money.

I have been with this gym for over four years now and I am VERY pleased with it. I have always had a good interaction with the employees and owner. I have never felt uncomfortable in it and someone is always there to help you and answer any questions you might have. I have been up and down in my weight and physical fitness, these people have cheered me on and pushed me through my lows in the gym, and have applauded and complimented on my achievements and progress. This gym will work for you and NOT against you. There isn't a click or who's who of Columbia in it, so you feel comfortable and at home. BRAVO to Joe and his staff! They are alwayd making improvements and care about your experience and progress in the gym. But do not take my word for it, come see for yourself and you be the judge.

Where do I begin?!
The care taker is a bully who completely ignores children and talks down to other parents about children whom are not even present.
The owner is a rude narcissist who refuses to help his customers, or listen to their needs. I asked for a 14 day trial and left with being essentially forced to sign a contract, without ever having stepped foot on equipment.
I was promised a personal trainer and they never followed through.
As my contract FINALLY came to an end, they revised the contract and added an additional month, without having ever told me this. So my 14 days turned into 13 months, with me having gone 5 times before my son was ridiculed by the care taker.
Pathetic, sick excuse for a business. Go somewhere else. Like a ditch. You'd get more results, I promise.

I've been using this gym for about 7 months now and would say overall I'm pretty satisfied with it.
- I like how the gym is never overcrowded and you don't have to wait for equipment very often
- Personally I've never had an issues with the staff, they were very upfront with the plans and how to cancel or not renew a subscription and the fees involved
- Locker rooms are always clean (on of the paper towel dispensers seems to have issues a lot lol)
- This gym is close to work so its very convenient for me
- Also the people that go there are very nice and helpful. I'm not the best at working out techniques/posture and have had a couple people walk up and give me some pointers which I've appreciated
A couple reasons I'm not giving a 5 star (but would still very much recommend the gym):
- While almost all the gym equipment is maintained\cleaned properly a couple things could be fixed. Some equipment has no padding on the bars but you can see where some used to be and I've only found two bike machines that have the electronics actually working (haven't used it in a while though)
- A bit more pricey than my previous gym (Golds Gym) and doesn't have the guest deal involved (which was a nice perk). But then again Golds was always severely overcrowded and on the other side of town and I generally disliked it.

I have been going to this gym for over a year. I don't have any problems with the staff. When I first signed up and again when I added a membership for my son Mike told me in order to cancel there would be a 30 day written notice. When they changed the billing there was a sign posted with that information.

BEWARE!! MIKE HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE'S DOING. SIGNED UP FOR MONTH TO MONTH KNOWING WE WERE MOVING. TOLD ME THE MEMBERSHIP WAS CANCELLED THEN TURNED IT INTO COLLECTIONS WITHOUT TRYING TO REACH OUT TO ME FOR PAYMENT! THIS WAS THE ONLY REASON MEMBERSHIP WAS DONE WAS BECAUSE IT WAS TEMPORARY! I DO NOT WISH TO BE CONTACTED!!!

I have been with this gym now for about 7 months. I used to be a personal trainer before my desk job, so I have pretty high expectations for gyms. I really enjoy working out at pro fitness. the locker rooms are very clean and the customer service is great. Granted, I have never tried to quit the gym, but most people know gyms usually require a 1 year membership. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because some of the equipment is a little old, but they still work well, and I am willing to sacrifice new and shiny for a lower monthly membership fee.

I have been with the gym for years. I hurt my back about a year ago and subsequently haven't been fully utilizing the membership like previously before. I assumed that the contract I signed would end, so I was just letting it run out. Little did I know, that Mike, the manager, neglected to select the non-renewable box for month-to-month payments after the end of the contract. Keep in mind, that I had previously had a 3 year contract with them before this 1 year one that I had so I didn't think that they would do anything like this. When setting up the 1 year contract, Mike filled out everything on the pdf form of the contract on his computer and said we were good to go and to go ahead and sign. He didn't have me come around to verify everything in the contract or ask if I wanted to go to month-to-month after the contract was up. Granted, I should have took initiative by looking at the contract before signing. I called Mike to get a refund and said that he couldn't do a refund. If they want to lose a loyal customer over $50, so be it. I refuse to go to them after I get my injury situation figured out.

Where's the option for 0 stars? That's what they deserve. This company has been nothing but stressful to deal with. The employees have no idea what they are doing when signing people up. I first went into the gym January 2015 excited to try the gym out. Paying for a month, signing my name electronically (assuming she ran my card as credit), there was no mention of a contract or being locked in with this payment for 12 months. Payments came out automatically which didn't bother me at the time when I was using it. When March came and I went maybe 3 times due to my busy schedule, I tried to cancel at that point and they said I had to call a third party number. When I called the number they stated no I was in a year contract. PRO Fitness took my initial payment signature and attached it to their ridiculous contract that they never let you see or read through obviously when signing you up for this expensive commitment. I contacted my bank and had them stop payments in July after already not using this membership since March. I have now, in September, received a collection letter with finance charges applied stating this money is owed. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! Worst customer service I have ever seen in my life!

0 Stars. A bar bathroom is cleaner then the floors, equipment and bathrooms. Very uncomfortable for female gym goers. The equipment is falling apart. They charge you $100 up front, there are hidden monthly fees and they will charge you for 2 months after you cancel.

The billing practices at PRO Fitness go beyond merely unethical. When I initially signed up for the gym, I was told I was entering a 12 month contract that would switch to month to month afterwards. I was not told that billing was handled through an outside agency that required written notice, a 30 day waiting period, and a member number I was never given for cancellation. This created an extremely stressful problem to add to my busy schedule along with significant financial costs. The gym rarely answers phone calls and has not returned any of my messages about the situation. Any positive reviews of the gym are from people who've never tried to quit and seen what kind of dishonesty lurks behind the scenes.

Giving this gym even a one star rating shouldn't be applicable. I gave this gym a go for 3 months and could no longer take it. I'm not even sure who is in charge of this place. The workers sitting behind the desk have no idea whats going on which I would probably put blame on the management staff. To test this theory out, I went into the gym on 3 separate occasions to inquire about gym membership prices. Each of these occasions, I was given a different rate ranging from $25 per month to $43.39 a month. So, to no surprise I took the lesser of the 3. After joining, it was clearly obvious that this gym lacked customer service and had zero management skills. The equipment is all outdated and half of the cardio machines are faulty. The locker rooms are usually disgusting and the cooler for pre and post workout drinks is usually empty. The gym has a cool lay out and is never busy but as an overall experience, the WORST gym I've joined by far. Have fun cancelling your membership as they have it set up through a third party.

We really tried to enjoy this gym, but ended up being sorely disappointed. Ultimately, it came down to their customer relations. We were wary of these smaller gyms because they tend to trap you in 12-month contracts to assure their existence once the new member loses steam with their new exercise goals. We simply wanted a way to cancel when the summer came because we exercise outside. After being assured we were not signing up for a 12-month contract, we came to find out that was exactly what they gave us. We sucked it up and continued to pay, but when time came to cancel they told us there is a "30 day written notice" that must be provided, which is a sneaky way to assure an extra month's payment.
Disappointed and frustrated. Would not recommend.

The gym isn't terrible once you get past the "cardio theater" where they retire their broken machinery. After you finish paying them $500 for a year of access to these broken machines, they will refer you to another company which will tell you have to send 30 day written notice and will charge you for another month. So essentially, just be aware you're not signing a yearly contract but a 13 month contract. Their customer service is worse the Comcast.

I canceled my membership there well over a year ago due to moving out of Columbia. My first letter of cancellation was sent in but they stated they never received the letter and payments where still coming out of my account 3 months after I sent the letter of cancellation. When I realized the payments were still coming out, I called right away and canceled my membership by phone, however, they still took three more payments. A total of 7 payments after the first cancellation letter. I had to call back again, and send another letter before they cancelled my membership completely and they charged me a $125 cancellation fee on top of the 7 payments.
The money isnβt the biggest issues. First off, I am a very busy person so this took up a lot of my time and stress. Second, I feel as if I have been taken advantage of with an ambiguous contract and an almost impossible cancellation process. I emailed into the owner and did not receive any response.

This is by far the best gym I've ever been to. My kiddo loves the daycare, and the woman who runs it (which is a total plus for a stay at home mom). Everyone that works there seems to be very nice and helpful. Mike (the manager) is ALWAYS willing to help with any questions or concerns. I'm currently participating in the personal training and love it. Drew is amazing and makes me feel very comfortable. I've also tried a few classes and like them (although the classes aren't for me). Overall, I would send anyone this direction if looking for a gym.

I read the other two reviews prior to my coming in to join and we (my boyfriend and I) did address our concerns about the daycare facility. HOWEVER, when I went in to the day care area my concerns were quickly alleviated the woman running the place is the ONLY one running it and she was VERY nice and attentive to myself and the children that were in there. My son LOVES the HUGE slide and always asks when he can go to the "big gym" with us. I love that he wants to go because it sets a child up for success when he can learn early on that exercise is a fun good thing!! Also I have never witnessed her chatting with anyone other then the person who runs the place and only for a few min never leaving the childrens' sight. I have been during both peak and down hours and at most I have seen 6 kiddos in the gym with her. In addition to the play area the staff that works there is very nice. Matt and Mike are the two main guys and both know who you are when you walk through the door (yes even before you scan!) They keep their facility clean and nice looking many times I have seen them out cleaning the facility. A few times I have been working out and they have given me pointers like a trainer would give so that I would use the machines properly. I have been to a few gyms in my life this one isn't surrounded my mirrors and is spaced in a way that the free weights and machines are separated (which is nice because generally speaking most of the guys are on the free weight side and the women are on the cardio/ machine side) The gym members that I have noticed seem to be pleasant and there aren't those type of people that just sit at the machine everyone is great about letting a person rotate in. Ohhh and they have towels!! LOL!!
