We had a birthday party for our 7 year old. It compared to the other party event prices and the kids had a blast. Plus, they were swimming instead of playing arcade games!

If I could give this joke of an establishment zero stars I would. Itβs ran by 16 year olds who like to complain about everything and there was a lifeguard outside who was nearly 60 arguing with my husband about our son going down the water slide and my husband being at the bottom of the water slide to catch our boy because NO lifeguard was at the bottom of the slide or in the water, keep in mind theyβve went down the slide while my husband was at the bottom to catch them 100x. I also seen a little boy fall down and one of the young lifeguards watched it happen and didnβt even ask the little guy if he was ok. I did. And the concession stands werenβt open. Do better. Hire nicer employees that actually care about others and have some human decency. We Will never come back here. SMH.

I love they have an outdoor waterpark pool. The rules on the deep end pool need to be revised. To swim in the deep end without a swim test you must be 16 years old. Most people can swim in deep water effectively by age 5-6. A 14 year old who is as big as an adult male shouldn't be asked to do a swim test to swim in deep water!

Very disappointed in the childwatch. Tonight I walked in to drop off my child and not one of the girls acknowledged us. My child was upset and not one person got up to take him from me to help his transition. They remained sitting at the table talking.

I bought a membership because I thought my daughter and I would be able to swim up here, but that wasn't the case. They let us get in the pool and start swimming, only to kick us out after we got all wet. Apparently its adults only for the first half of the day. Poorly run, terrible hours/scheduling. If you're signing up to have somewhere for yours kids to swim this summer, don't. This is a place exclusively for the elderly apparently.

Not worth the cost.
The main reason we use this is for child watch to allow time for us to join a class or use their gym and know our baby daughter is in good hands. And while the people are kind, they will call you in the middle of a workout to pick up your child if they canβt calm them down after a period of time.
We pay $77 / month for predominantly the child watch but why pay for it if we canβt really use it? I appreciate they look after your kids but when they decline service youβre left with βbetter luck next time.β They are usually 2 caretakers to a room and there is usually 6+ kids at any given time. Iβm curious if my baby is crying because she is legitimately upset or just because they donβt have enough hands to help her.
On top of that, their gym is ok. Not great, especially compared to other local gyms. Guess Iβm going back to lifting in my garage during nap time. If youβre a new parent and fitness enthusiast, the Y is one of your only options for child care, but this Y ainβt it.

I'm not sure what half these reviews are talking about. We have a y membership and have used the inside pool with our kids multiple times over the summer. Other then the jets in the hottub left bruises, I've got 0 complaints about the pool itself. Lifeguards are teens and seem to each have their own rules. No 2 have the same so each change over you have to figure things out. But they have vests and pool noodles. Indoor and outdoor pool access.

I would give it 5 stars but the lack of equipment for weightlifters, to accommodate for the times where the gym is crowded, has been impacting the quality of my workouts. There are not enough adjustable benches available. Need about 2 more. It would also be nice to have dumbbells larger than 100 pounds. There are also not enough weighted plates for the machines/barbells. I find myself spending a lot of time looking for what I need

Lifeguards act bothered if you approach with questions and are unprofessional at times. Also, they have a lap pool without basic water training tools such as a kick board or pool noodles for public use.
It would probably be helpful to post pool closure signs as well instead of assuming patrons know the schedule and rudely approaching them as if they are the problem.

We joined RiverChase YMCA in September and absolutely love it! We've used the equipment, walked the track, done water classes, Silver Sneakers classes, MX4 and other classes.
The Y has become a wonderful community with us looking forward to seeing and talking with fellow members in the classes as well as the staff.
The instructors have all been anazing! They do a great job with mixing things up, giving clear instructions and answering questions.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. Kevin and Ed do an amazing job keeping the Y clean!
I'm thankful they have live-streamed classes as well. I much prefer going in person. However, I've taken advantage of this option when we had icy weather and when we had summer storms that took the power out at the Y.
Thank you for all you do!!!

My experience at Riverchase has been fantastic. I started out in the senior classes doing silver sneaker classes and as I felt I could do more signed up for other classes that I thought I was capable of doing. To my surprise I was able to do more and their instructors are fabulous. They tell you what to do to modify an exercise if you cannot do that particular one. My cholesterol was sky high and with the exercise classes I have been doing it is now below normal. I encourage anyone who feels they can do more to sign up for a class and if you feel it is too hard talk to the instructor and always go back more than once because it does get easier. Everyone should challenge themselves . Just want to thank the great instructors for their time and patience.

We will never be bringing our family back to this facility. If I could give it a zero star I would. My wife just brought our 3 sons to the pool and was repeatedly met with lifeguards not doing their job, snarky attitudes, and trying to enforce rules that are not posted anywhere. One such rule was only kids 8 and older are allowed in the lazy river, however this rule was reversed twice by the lifeguard in the time they were there. My son was measured for the slide, slid down for 40 min then they decided he was then not tall enough and was made to walk down the stairs sobbing. Lifeguards were only concerned about flirting with each other and which dental school they were going to. Awful, and will never be returning under YMCA's ownership. I grew up in Fenton and my kids will not know how great that place used to be. Stay away from this rec center. Canβt wait for the canned response of βsorry you didnβt have a good experienceβ nothing will change

After I tried to call to speak the manager about todayβs experience and didnβt receive a call back, Iβll do a review instead. The inconsistent rules and incompetent life guards made this an awful experience. My almost 7 year old did 2 laps around the lazy river before being told he is too young. After 10 minutes, he magically became tall enough to do it. Which is it? My 2 year old was near me and took a step off into the kid area. He went in head first and was under. Not a single lifeguard noticed. They were too busy flirting, singing, and having their bottoms hanging out of their swimsuits. My son was measured for the outdoor slide and was told he was tall enough. After 40 minutes of continually going down the slide, they decided to remeasure him. He suddenly became too short and was asked to walk down. So, you deemed it unsafe but let him go down time and time again. I was met with snarky and rude staff all through the pool area. The manager of the lifeguards said to me βI heard about all of your rules. God forbid we have rulesβ After the inconsistent rules which I still canβt find online coupled with the overly priced day passβ¦ we will never be back. I never ended up getting any reasonable explanation. To top it off, I couldnβt get a refund because I was there βtoo longβ I spent most of my time trying to talk to lifeguards to make sense of why rules were always changing.

We were members last year when they switched over to YMCA. It was ok for a time but every time we went up to swim their pool was closed for one reason or another and we were unable to swim. We were planning on going up this weekend to try them out again to see if maybe we would possibly get a membership again only to learn that you canβt use the pool to swim on the weekend unless youβre a member! (They didnβt want our $ that it cost for our family to swim $13 for 13+ and $7 for under 13) and weβll go to Arnold Rec center! Itβs cheaper too! Only $6/ person. And they let you swim on the weekends!!!

I'm a member primarily for the pool and the childcare. I've renewed every year, even through Covid and through the extended repair issues that kept the pool closed for another season beyond that. I know Riverchase is dealing with staffing issues, but unless they expand the pool hours soon, I won't be renewing. 12pm-6pm is too limited for working families (and/or families with kids that still nap). I used to love going to the pool as a family after work, and that's no longer an option. I love supporting my community center, and their transition to YMCA, but I'm here for the pool and those hours aren't enough, and we'll have to go elsewhere for summer fun.

False advertisement! We joined Riverchase Y because of the indoor pool that is great for kids; however, the indoor pool is not opened the entire summer for kids. Why was this not mentioned to members who pay good money to swim inside at the Y? Will the Y being discounting memberships since families with kids cannot use the indoor pool? I do want to add that every time we swim indoors, the lifeguards are fantastic and it is appreciated.

So... in order to go swimming at Riverchase since the YMCA took it over... you now have to show them your license, fill out an application (which includes how much money you make monthly), get your picture taken, the fee went from $5/person to $13/person. (That is just to go swimming for one day- not the membership.) The 'lifeguards' are teenagers- and they're more focused on flirting than they are on their job. The girls uniforms are a red one piece that are supose to go over their butts- not between the cheeks like one of them decided was appropriate in front of children while she was dancing around, smiling at the male 'lifeguard' across the pool. Children are not permitted in the indoor pool until SEPTEMBER- adults only until then.

I enjoy the gym and the pool. Facilities are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The reason for the 3 stars is on most weekdays the staff will start kicking out members out 15 minutes prior to closing time (8:45 pm) which is frustrating considering I have very limited times in which I can go and most nights I canβt get there until 8 pm.

Came here with my 4 year old and 9 month old to swim in kiddie pool. First time here, arrived at 1045. Kiddie pool was open when we went to change, came out and it's closed. Apparently only open 9-11, sure would have been nice to be informed that before wasting $25. Since we just took 15 minutes to change had to swim before the 4 year old melted down, so got into big pool for about 30 minutes with 2 children clinging to me the whole time and begging to go into kiddie pool. Complained to front desk and they said too bad cuz you still swam. Well we were already in swim gear and told 4 year old we were swimming so can't back out then. Very disappointing. Asked if we could come back another day for free when kiddie pool is actually open or get a refund. Nope. Maybe staff should educate people on kiddie pool hours when they come in to swim with 2 children. Ugh

This place has definitely improved upon acquisition by the YMCA. Prior to the merger I refused to get a membership as I did not see the worth for the price they were asking for membership. Now that this is part of the YMCA and having accesses to new spin classes, HITT classes, and all their other workout classes is awesome. Access to the indoor and out door pool is great.
The only reason I gave it a 4 star and not 5 is due to their opening hours. A lot of the other YMCA in the area open at 5/5:30 and River Chase doesnβt open until 6. Hopefully they change their open time to match surrounding Yβs and allow patrons to get workouts before work.

My sister had a birthday party here for my nephews over the weekend and the staff was complete jerks!! She reserved the room over the phone and was never given a contract. We showed up and were told we were too early to setup but since no one was using the room we could go ahead and get started. AFTER getting permission to go ahead and setup early, a different girl storms in the room and rudely TELLS us that she is going to charge us for an extra hour because we are too early. NO guests were there. It was 2 adults in the room setting up tables and the cake. And, at this point we were 30 min earlier than we should've been (according to her). She didn't care that it wasn't even a full hour or that the girl upstairs already told us it was okay to get started. She told us that we signed a contract and she was charging us extra - too bad so sad. After arguing about the fact that we did NOT sign a contract, then she finally agreed to waive the extra hour FEE (that she made up to begin with). After this issue, she was completely rude and unhelpful for the remainder of the party. Real nice hospitality for a CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY! Don't waste your money at this place. There are plenty of other places to swim where the staff will treat you with respect and not try to rip you off.

The facility very well kept and have quite a many amenities. The day guest pass is decently priced at 8 bucks and is my understanding and allows you access to all the place has to offer.

I am rehabilitating from knee surgery and the pool has a great area for aqua-walking. The cardio equipment is also very nice. The locker rooms are very clean. I am not a Fenton resident and the one-day pass was very reasonably priced.

I'm considered a non resident of Fenton at Riverchase. I pay the taxes for living in Fenton. My kids go the Uthoff. The taxes increase every year. My address and zip code is Fenton but I still gotta pay extra to go inside as a non resident. They also run the pool all wrong, they won't let anyone use the other diving board (there's two boards) and they don't allow anyone to swim in the deep end. Why?

Good place to be! Just FYI to anyone who wants to go to the play area of the pool the slides and play area turn on at 12:30. The lanes are great too for good exercise.

Checked website for hours for sun may 30th but decided to call to confirm - called on sat to get hours - called again sun morning to double confirm at 10:00 when they opened - drove 45 mins to get there - when we walked in they said there was no open swim - told them I called at 10 & they told me there was - they said their manager changed things after 10 - who does that - I was livid !! I would never consider going back there

No open swim on Sundays. Their website said nothing about Sundays only being open for lap swim.

I love the place but the fact that they donβt know what to do during covid is beyond me I pay for a membership and I want to play basketball after my track practice but they close at 5:00 THATS INSANE they used to close at 9 but for some reason they decided that 5 was realistic figure yourself out
