My daughter has been a member of Team Central for 9 years, with the last 5 years spent competing on the team. We love everything about TC! The coaches always push her to do her best and provide opportunities for her to build her skillset both at practice and during private lessons. The staff is super informative and provides timely communication. Special shoutout to Alyssa M. and Ashley S. for being amazing and making my daughter’s time at TC memorable!

10/4/25: I agree with the feedback regarding treatment of those of “color.” It’s not just athletes of color, but also a sheer lack of respect and less than appropriate treatment of kids.

My girls began private lessons with a male coach at Team Central on 9/2/25. He’s great! They were making good progress towards their back handspring. Today, they attended their first open gym. There were a total of 4 kids in the session and 2 staff for the four kids. Around the halfway mark, both of my kids came out crying due to the staff telling them they could not practice on the boulder without having their back walkover. This is although both of my kids have well over a year experience on the boulder; 5-6 weeks during their private sessions at this gym. In addition, the heavy-set right cock-eyed staff member who was supposedly working with the 4 girls wouldn’t assist my daughter on the trampoline for her back handspring. She was told, “uh we’re not doing that girl.” The manager, Ashley, was good for nothing in the matter and specifically, had nerve to tell me that, “I would appreciate if you have issues with my staff to address it with me.” And Ashley, as I said, I would appreciate if your staff speak to my kids appropriately; and by the way, do their jobs the way they should be done during “open gym.” Your staff gets no grace in how I speak to them when she spoke to my daughter as if she was not a child. Did I mention that I asked the lady at the check-in desk when I first walked in, if they were working on anything in particular or if they would have stations? She responded, “it’s open gym and they can work on whatever they want.” I cancelled my private lessons. I have more to share, but, you get the jist. Consider yourself warned about what you can expect from these folks. The posters here have not lied. I do not recommend this gym to anyone unless you can’t do any better than this. Don’t bother posting a canned response. No one wants to hear your cover-up. If anything, have the owner to call me directly. My phone number is still on file.

EDITED REVIEW: My child was enrolled here for two years and absolutely loved the environment, her teammates, and her coaches. She’s naturally very shy, but through her time here she opened up, became more independent, and built a lot of courage. After four years of gymnastics, she’s ready to try something new and venture into dance.

I reached out to management by email to ask about the procedure for withdrawing and made it clear that she still loves Team Central, but simply wants to explore a different sport. Unfortunately, no one followed up. A week later, I called to confirm, and the woman I spoke with stated that my daughter had already been dropped.

While we understand transitions happen, we would have greatly appreciated a simple response—something like “thank you,” “good luck,” or “we hope to see you again.” For my daughter, this was a big decision; she worried about how her coaches and teammates would feel, and she still has two more classes left before she leaves. She’s anxious about it, and a kind word from the staff would have meant a lot.

After the time, energy, and money we’ve invested over the past two years, it’s disappointing not to receive even a brief acknowledgment. Despite this, we are still sad to go, because this program has been such an important part of her growth.

The place is very nice and teaches well. The only thing that doesn't seem right to me is that the students are moving the mats they use to train themselves. My daughter is nine years old and three of them were pulling the mat. I imagine they were moving it to the side they were going to train on. I think they are too young to be straining while their coaches were talking to each other instead of moving the mat themselves.

I’ve been going to team central sense i was 7 and i am now 14, i was on XL Gold before i got kicked off because i had to take physical therapy and couldn’t be at gymnastics for a minute the coaches knew this but still kicked me off because i was missing too much. Now that im not at the gym anymore and ive had time to think after my coaches Makenzie,Danika,Britain,Abby,Loran, and Rebeca left Team Central got really toxic and i got discriminated against because of my skin color and because the coach didn’t like my mom i was very disrespectful towards and was spilt up from my friends multiple times while everyone else got to play around with they’re friends and get nothing done. I was and still is a strong gymnast and got really high scores at competitions and to be treated like this simply because of my skin color and because you have one sided beef with my mother is just terrible and i don’t want this for anyone

Can’t believe it’s already been a year since our daughter started here! TC has been nothing short of an amazing experience for us. We immediately recognized that the Tumblebee program was beautifully executed + well thought out. You can tell they put an incredible amount of thought into the way the program is structured. As a mom of a gymnast that attends here, + as a former gymnast myself, I was immediately drawn to the culture! Thus, I decided to pursue employment opportunities with the gym soon after + I’m so grateful I did. It’s everything I thought it would be + more. The staff is incredible, their training process is excellent + we are just so grateful for them! You’re not just great for kids, TC! You’re great for families!

My 11 month old daughter just started their baby bees class and I think it’s an amazing opportunity for her to learn new skills and be around other littles! The coaches and staff have been super friendly so far and the facility is very neat/clean.

We heard about the baby bees class through family and found out it was free for babies 4 months-walking. You just have to pay the 45 dollar year membership which is still such a deal. Highly recommend for moms of littles trying to find something to do during the day. They hold the class twice a week!

I had a horrible experience with them. They got so many kids running in and out of there they can’t keep up with the kids individualized progress or lack thereof. My daughter spent a month in the wrong class no one bothered to tell me anything they just stuffed her in a class. After the month one day after pick up she finally told me with tears in her eyes that she had been doing gymnastics with small elementary kids and toddlers since she started. What a waste of time and money! My daughter was excited to go and that just totally killed it for her…there’s more but I digress…

My daughter started with this program as a Kinderbee. She loved the teachers and the class itself. She eventually moved on to Xcel Prep a year later and she loved the team and teachers as well. Unfortunately, she was forced out due to "space" and not enough teachers. I feel it was unfair due to the tight frame of "tryouts" and signing up for a new class. In addition to minimum communication. The try outs were said to be invite only, $10 each kid. The try outs looked to be an all invite situation. As a parent new to the gymnastics program there was no clear communication that you had to reenroll your child in the same level class if they did not move up after tryouts. After noticing my daughter was not enrolled in a class, I emailed and called continuously. After two weeks of missed communication I was able to get in touch with someone. I was told my email was read, but somehow unanswered and the class was now full. Unfortunately, my daughter who been with the program for two years was forced out due to no space. It's very unfortunate and hard to explain to a 7 year old who loved the gymnastics program. Hopefully, in the future this happens to no one else. I was offered to put her in a 9/10 yr old class which I declined due to the age difference.

My daughter was going to this gym going on 2 years now. We started in the parent and toddler class, took a break and I tried re-enrolling her in the next level class. Within the first month of her being back my 3 year old little girl was already getting bullied by a bigger and older child and end up having a huge knot on her head. They DO NOT enforce their no hitting/bullying policy especially when it pertains to “certain” children. Ive seen them handle bullying differently in the past but nothing was done when it came to my child. Me and my husband’s concerns were completely dismissed. And I refuse to pay for my toddler to get BULLIED. I paid almost 200.00 just to re-enroll her and now I cant even get in contact with anyone. I tired asking for the Director and no one will even call me back they are completely trying to sweep this issue under the rug. If you have children of COLOR I don't recommend this gym as their is obviously unfair treatment taking place. Policies and rules should be enforced fairly not dependent on the “child”. Instead of responding to this review I would love for someone to call me and my husband and address our concerns for our child’s safety with fairness. Thank you

Original review: We took my daughter here to join the team. There was space on the team. She went to three weeks of classes. Everyone was happy until one of the coaches asked my daughter to work in her leotard without shorts, even though she had been wearing shorts for weeks. My wife tried to discuss it with the coaches, but from that point on, she was uninvited. They said there was no room on the team anymore, even though when she called in to discuss, the staff on the phone (who wasn't aware of what happened) said there were actually spaces on the team. She couldn't even join the other team where they had offered her a spot because they were also conveniently out of spaces now.

I'm glad we didn't end up here, because anywhere with an issue over an 8 year old wanting to wear gymnastics shorts is not a safe place.

Edit post response: from the USAG regulations:
"5) Shorts: must be solid black (small manufacturer’s branding allowed) with no embellishments. Shorts must be worn over a leotard and the length must be above the knee or shorter."

1) "Not Allowed" is no longer the case. USA Gymnastics is the one who sets those rules, correct? They announced this change over a year ago. Is it standard for such a "top tier gym" to be so behind on the rules changes nationally? Can you give me one good reason why a girl can't wear shorts in your gym when it's allowed nationally at competitions?
2) Your claim of available spaces for coach ratios don't line up when we call the gym AFTER we've been told that there are no spaces and the actual employee on the phone says that there are. We also checked with the other team that had spots multiple spots available, and they magically, simultaneously all filled up after we had been there for 3 weeks?
Sorry, that doesn't add up.

I'll continue to repost this if my review doesn't seem to show up when I have third party people go to google and can't see it.

We've had 3 girls go through Team Central. They started in the classes and went on to either the JO or Xcel teams. We now have been with the TC family for almost a decade. The coaches can be demanding, but it's to make the kids better and keep them safe. All of the coaches we've interacted with care about the gymnasts, are experts at what they do, and want to see the gymnasts succeed. Thank you, TC!

3 of my daughters are gymnasts at Team Central; 2 on the competitive team and one in the team prep class. We have been doing gymnastics at TC since 2020 and absolutely LOVE everything about it! Staff is wonderful, accommodating and kind to us. The coaches are high-quality and very educated in their craft. My girls progress in their skills and have so much fun at every practice/class. All 3 of my girls have come so far since we started at TC and I am so grateful for the gymnastics, life skills and confidence that they learn/gain from the opportunities they have at TC. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

There are two things that disappointed me greatly about our experience with Team Central. First, I did not get the sense that I was being communicated with honestly. That is the most important thing because it so very important to trust the people our young athletes spend so much time with, who are responsible for the safety of children, and who have as much influence as coaches have. I value honesty, and it just really seemed like something was off about what I was being told.

The other problem is that even though usag allows gymnasts to compete in shorts, leggings, or tights with no score deduction, Team Central does not allow their athletes that option in competition and seems to strongly discourage it in practice. The gym my daughter had to leave when we moved allowed their athletes to wear shorts in competition if they chose even years back when it resulted in a small score deduction. The coach there said they cared about the gymnasts’ safety, form, comfort, effort, and growth. And so if the athlete chose to wear shorts and take the deduction, that was okay with her as the coach. I hope more gyms develop that attitude including Team Central.

Every gym can make improvements. I hope Team Central will change their shorts/leggings policy in the very near future out of respect for the athletes. The honesty thing I do sincerely hope was a misunderstanding on my part. It was at the very least poor communication choices that resulted in the appearance of dishonesty. I am happy that we have found a different gym that I do trust and that follows the same dress code as usag. And I look forward to hearing about positive changes at Team Central.

PLEASE READ🚨🚨

team central gymnastics was extremely verbally abusive towards me. i never want to step foot in a gymnasium again because of them. i still have trauma from my 4 years of going to this gym, i havent been since 2016 but if they have changed good. my time there was traumatic and i still havent got past the abuse i went through. sometimes a sport isnt worth your mental health and you future self will thank you for that.

I grew up at this gym. They always have been so kind and caring to every single person that walks into the gym. I love the sport so naturally I began working at my favorite place in the whole world.
