I enjoy going here based on the great selection of machines to target specific muscle groups. The cleanliness and inviting atmosphere of the gym is partly why I keep coming back. The instructors (shoutout to Brandon) gave me resources to help my workouts become so efficient and intuitive to what my body requires. I was given the guidance to be successful and it built my confidence to be consistent and push myself further. The staff are very kind whenever I greet them and I enjoy working out now because I feel supported in my fitness journey.

Zone 6 Fitness is the real deal. I’ve trained in dozens of gyms, including some of the most state of the art military facilities in the country, and this place still stands out. It’s huge, spotless, and strikes the perfect balance between clean lighting and a moody atmosphere that keeps you focused. Every single piece of equipment works the way it should. Nothing’s ever broken or left in disrepair, and it’s obvious they take pride in that.

The staff is solid, the place runs smooth, and the people are even better. Everyone trains hard, respects the space, and there’s an easy sense of community that you don’t find often. It’s the kind of gym where you can push yourself without the ego or chaos you see in other places.

Zone 6 is everything a gym should be. Five stars, no question.

Zone 6 is easily the best gym in and out of North KC! The environment alone makes it truly feel great to be in. The front desk never fails to greet you when you walk in, they have some of the best smoothies for post-workout and a refuel station that’s nice for when coming in after work and you haven’t eaten anything! The crew at Zone 6 feels very much like a family, Jennifer up front is the friendliest and so wonderful and helpful! Brandon, one of their personal trainers is so educated in the field and does an incredible job at curating and modifying exercises so that it fits to your needs and your goals. The equipment is wonderful, often times you see primarily cardio machines or just benches at gyms, never both or more, but Zone 6 quite literally has it all. That includes an entirely other side for power/weight lifting, a huge area for more HIIT focused workouts (which is also where they host group workouts), a cardio section, and then a general lift area! This is truly the perfect gym for anyone, experienced or beginner. The HIIT space in the back gives you a space to do your own workout away from others until you feel more comfortable with your form or if you just want that privacy and the more dedicated spaces for lifting and cardio gives more experienced gym members a place to focus and continue growth in their training. My favorite part is that it also inclines you to try new workouts and machines that you haven’t tried before and that it’s such a community where everyone knows everyone and has respect for everyone! I’ve tried many of the “larger” gyms and even gyms for just women to promote a more comfortable experience when working out and I’ve never found a gym that felt more comfortable, motivating, and as safe as Zone 6!

As I've recently moved out of KCMO, I wanted to acknowledge that this gym is the best I've had the pleasure of visiting in the area. The sheer variety of equipment and spaciousness ensure that wait times are minimal. One aspect that particularly stands out about Z6 is its unwavering commitment to cleanliness. The gym and its bathrooms are always immaculate. The Power Zone is a fantastic addition, and the staff is truly exceptional - consistently friendly and courteous. Moreover, they exhibit remarkable attention to detail, ensuring that wipes are always stocked and trash cans are emptied in a timely manner, a trait that sets them apart from other gyms I've encountered.

I have been to about a dozen different gyms in the KC area. When I moved to KC Zone 6 was the first gym I started at. After I moved I had to switch gyms but somehow found myself back at Zone 6 shortly after. There’s a reason for that. State of the art equipment, high quality amenities, and incredible staff. I have never had a single issue at Zone 6 and that inspires me to keep working hard and to keep going back to Zone 6. If you’re thinking about coming in don’t think, just do. You won’t regret it.

I qualify a gym based on several factors; (1) equipment, (2) cleanliness, (3) staff, (4) culture, and (5) price.

(1) The equipment is top quality, huge selection, lots of squat racks, areas for powerlifting or Olympic lifting, everything is always in working condition, and tons of area space so you never feel cramped.

(2) They keep everything super clean. Bathrooms are always clean too!

(3) The staff have always been super friendly and helpful!

(4) The culture of people have been friendly as well, and I love that there are a lot of people here who take fitness seriously because that encourages me.

(5) The monthly cost is VERY reasonable for any gym but especially this one because of how much it offers! The best part is NO annual contract; just month to month and cancel anytime.

The most beautiful gym in north Kansas City / Kansas City. I been a member for two years now. Everyone is so friendly/ nice and easy to talk to from check in, mangers and coaches and I’m honored to be a member. They have so much space for everyone to comfortably workout, and always keeps the place clean and organized. An amazing fact about zone6 fitness they have two section one in the front and back so if you don’t feel comfortable working out in the front you can go in the back and the light are down most of the time. Z6 is my absolute favorite gym! My husband and I have been members since 2021 starting with the Upgrade classes and now just doing our own workouts. Love the cleanliness (Thank you, Jim!!), the positive environment and sense of community! I feel comfortable asking other members or staff for help using a machine/general fitness question. The space is so large, you never feel overcrowded even in the peak hours. The equipment is clean and in working condition (Thank you, Jordan!!).

I been Zone 6 Fitness member for 7 years. There’s no gym in KC better than zone 6 when it comes clean environment, friendly respectful staff and its multicultural community. Zone 6 it’s very large gym full of variety of equipments no matter how busy it gets I’m always able to get my work out done on my own pace. Got smoothie bar, dietitian person can help you with nutrition and great personal trainer who can guarantee you lose weight. Locker rooms are very clean and nice. Even memberships are affordable. We were members years ago in 2018 when it first opened, but had to take a hiatus for a year or two. We toured many gyms, but nothing came close to what is offered at zone 6, even four years later. Zone 6 is the perfect gym. The amount of space is insane. All the equipment one could ask for and still plenty of space for you to do your own thing. On top of that, the cleanliness is just outstanding whether on the floor or in the locker room. Everyone from the staff to the members so friendly. A true judgement free zone for all ability levels. We’re so glad we came back!

It's a really nice and clean gym. I only gave it three stars because it's not a 24 hour gym for its members and, this bugs me most, both members and trainers don't put unused weights and equipment away to their proper locations so they are everywhere and in the way just left on the floors. They need to do better on that and keep people responsible to do so. Yes I'm still a member here but I'm about to change gyms if they keep it up.

I wake up everyday at 4:50 am and can’t wait to get to Zone 6 Fitness and join my Group Training Class. Something different everyday. Makes working out fun. Endless amount of workout equipment. Never have to wait. Nellie, the early morning Group Training Instructor is there to make sure you do every exercise correctly and you don’t get hurt. It's modern, refreshing, and not only are the staff friendly and positive, but the people that go there are friendly as well. I usually workout alone, but I have had several occasions where people have offered me to be a spotter. I love this place! Seriously the best gym I've ever been in. You know how most gyms are 80% cardio equipment and 20% weight equipment (with 2 racks that are always in use)? Zone 6 flips that on its head. I don't have to stand around waiting to do squats or bench press, there's plenty of room by the free weights, the space to do core/stretching/whatever else is spacious so you're not uncomfortably close to other peoples' downward dog--not to mention that all of the equipment is in great condition, very clean, and the entire facility is clean and well-maintained. Don't get a membership here, I want it all to myself.

Great selection of equipment from powerlifting to sports performance with the turf. Classes seem very neat although I've never attended one. Price is super reasonable and no BS contracts. You do have to call them in order to get a price, however, as it is not listed on their website without putting in your information.
I've been to a lot of gyms over the years, even this one a few years back shortly after it opened. Like a fine wine, it has only improved with age. I've paid way more for far less!
I'm 100 percent serious about giving the man who maintains the place a raise. He truly deserves one!

Alright I’m not a big review guy but I had to post one for this. ZONE 6 IS A 10/10 gym. Straight 10. A UNICORN!

They have everything here. Tons of benches and racks to use. I’m talking racks on racks. Once you think you’ve found them all I guarantee you there’s five more hiding somewhere. Tons of free weights, barbells, kettlebells, pulleys, machines and some stuff I don’t even know what it does but probably something cool.

Looks like they got tons of cardio equipment too if that’s your thing.

Everything is super modern, super clean, guy at the front is cool, and they play BANGERS on the stereo. What more could you ask for?

Side note: this place was oddly empty, so take advantage of that before this place figures out how to market an excellent gym.

I absolutely love this gym!! They use really good equipment and have plenty of them. I never have to wait on anyone. There is always someone there cleaning the facility so I never question if it’s been sanitized or not. The staff is amazing here! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable and never mind answering questions. Favorite person there is Jamie. There is no stranger to that guy! He’s super friendly and I love talking to him. Overall, the best gym in KC!

I really do love this gym, honestly. It’s extremely clean, staff is great, and has just about every piece of equipment I’d want to use. Half of the reason I signed up for a 3 year contract though is because they opened up at 4:30am, and that is no longer the case. It’s on my way to work so I would go in the mornings with plenty of time to get a workout in. Now I’m rushed every morning. I see a lot of other gyms going back to earlier hours in the area right now except mine. Real bummer.

Weights and equipment friendly for heavy lifters as well as the recreational.

Awesome classes! Friendly staff and great workout options... Seriously so glad I took the plunge to try a new gym in north KC.. Loving it! They offer a free class to try so anyone can check it out.. I signed up the day I did my free class.. :)

Probably the best gym I've been to and definitely the nicest one I've been to in KC and I've been a member of many through the years. Tons of equipment, super clean and really friendly staff. You can tell a lot of money and thoughtfulness went into Zone 6.

READ THE FINE PRINT! When I signed up for a membership, I was told I could freeze my account for up to 3 months at anytime. They do not honor that! My friend signed up at the same time and also asked to freeze her account when I did and was allowed to freeze her account for 6 months. However, they refused to freeze my account for more than 1 month at a time and also refused to give me my money back for a month that should have been frozen. Shady business!

I was only attending here since May 2019 and i must say that it's the real deal. The staff members and trainers are excellent and really care about your fitness goals. The smoothie bar is really good as they have a wide variety selection. Unfortunately i had to cancel my memebership, but it was a smooth sailing! Phil was even nice enough to waive my fee. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

Great gym! Took off two stars because of the cross training area being closed off to people that aren't buying personal training sessions. Even if it was restricted to certain times that would be cool. There's a lot of stuff in that section of the gym that I would like to do.

I highly recommend Zone 6. The gym is very large, extremely clean, and has plenty of equipment. I never felt like I had to wait on on any machines, even during peak hours and always felt very welcomed by friendly staff. I liked how close to downtown this place is. My only complaint is I've had a bit of trouble cancelling membership on my account.

Edit: The owner was quick to respond and fix this issue. Make sure to check this place out!

Clean place with newer equipment but not a place for those who don't like to follow simple gym guidelines and show common courtesy. If you like to make some noise, carry your bag around while you attempt to do work outs from bodybuilding.com, wear clothes that show more skin than a t-shirt and shorts would, or are training for a competition, this is not the place to be. If you are looking to get in shape and/or maintain a long term healthy life style, sign up today!

Don't ever cancel your membership because if you do, someone will constantly either call you or leave text messages even when you repeatedly ask them to stop. It would have been fine if it was just one text message, but it has been 3 phone calls and 2 text messages as of today.

These facilities are the cleanest around! Management is extremely helpful. I came as a visitor to check out the gym and the owner took time to chat with me and was very personable. I felt comfortable doing my workout and wish there was a location closer to my house!
