When I started training with Aaron and Nina I’d never been to a gym before. They were so welcoming and encouraging and always made sure I was comfortable with the day’s plan. Not only did they plan great sessions, but they also taught me the proper skills to be able to do it on my own. I highly recommend working with them, especially if you’re nervous about getting started in the gym.

I'm so sad they are closing 🥺 all the great things about Bozeman are being driven out by too high of rental prices

I don’t usually review places unless I have a positive experience, but I’m pretty disappointed/irritated with this gym’s customer service. Despite requesting more information online/emailing them several times, calling them during business hours to try and speak to an employee (voicemail box is full, so I couldn’t leave a message), and reaching out to their Facebook page, I’ve yet to be hear back from them at all. In fact, my Facebook message was opened and unanswered, which seemed kind of rude to me. I was really hopeful to join this gym since it’s closer to my place than most other gyms in town, but after being ignored for months, I think I’ll take my business elsewhere.

This place is awesome, never too busy and they have good equipment. They have day/week and monthly passes that are pretty cheap and you can go in anytime even on holidays. The staff are very friendly and so are the people who attend the gym from my experience.

The gym is very clean and pretty quiet as far the foot traffic which is nice considering it is a smaller gym.. it’s got everything you need to have great workout! Friendly staff too.

Main Street fitness is a wonderful gym here in Bozeman. It’s perfect for the regular gym-goer that’s confident in their abilities, but it’s also a haven for the first time users that are self conscious about how they look or how they work out. The gym is rarely very busy and finding a machine to use is never a problem. The whole facility is kept immaculate and staff are always very kind. Especially with taking price into consideration, I cannot recommend this gym enough!

This is one of the best gyms in Bozeman. The facilities are immaculate, there's tons of equipment, friendly staff, and a convenient location in the heart of downtown. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone looking.

Great facility and atmosphere. Friendly people with a respectful attitude. Plenty of machines and, for a small building, enough space for yourself. The location isn't great, but a minor inconvenience overall.

Absolutely loved this gym. Great selection of weights and machines, had 2 full sized Olympic weight squat and deadlift racks and plenty of space to workout. Staff were really accommodating and friendly and made my time there super enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this gym to anyone

This is an excellent fitness center. I’ve been a member four years plus. It’s got a full range of equipment you’ll need for whatever sport your into. All the free weights, cardio machines, gymnastics room, aerobics room and universal machines you’ll need for whatever your doing. The facility and locker rooms are always clean and the equipment is in excellent shape plus it’s got saunas. There are fitness instructors and dietitians available and the center sponsors special events and activities for the members to participate in, it’s also accessible 24-7 to work with whatever your schedule is. Lastly the owners are involved in the daily operation of the gym. Your dealing with real people who know there business not just somebody working a job for an unknown absentee corporate owner. If your needing to get in or stay in shape this is the place.

I don’t know who the front desk girl is who greets everyone with the personality of warm apple pie left on a winter windowsill but I imagine it isn’t the workout equipment alone that keeps bringing people back and motivating them. I heard a lot about “Bozeman hidden gem” on my journey through the Midwest and I think she might be the treasure

I signed up for a membership here over the winter and found it to be the best gym I’ve trained at. Staff are friendly and always helpful, and they are eager to find a training schedule that fits your needs. Easy, open 24 hours, and a great location. I definitely recommend and may return next winter.

Liked that the gym was open 24 hours. Good downtown location close to work so I could do a workout, shower there, then go straight to work. Never found it too busy and didn't have to wait for equipment to open up. Canceling my membership as just broke my leg and that process was just as easy as initially signing up.

I shared my concern about a trainer at Main Street Fitness with the owner Aaron. My complaint was a pretty serious complaint about how one of the trainers was offering free massages at my house. I really didn't think that the massage offers were a huge deal. The big deal was that after that he stopped responding to my messages about doing training which I had paid a lot of money for.
I wanted to express this concern in a way that wouldn't be damaging to anyone, but I definitely wanted it resolved as well. I told Aaron I wanted to bring it up with him and talk about it before I wrote any reviews. He responded by telling me he was going to get lawyers and sue me if I didn't send him screenshots. I am going through with writing the review because I do have screenshots and proof of this trainer offering me massages then not responding when I tried to do training sessions. He automatically assumed I was lying. All I wanted was a simple resolution and to actually protect this from happening to other people. I had at least a whole other month left of training which was very expensive. I wanted to finish the training with a different trainer when the personal trainer that made me feel uncomfortable wouldn't be there. Although I never asked for that I figured we would be able to come up with a solution that everyone was comfortable with. I never thought I would be getting told he is going to get lawyers when I did nothing wrong but express in a kind and professional manor why I didn't come anymore and why I wasn't happy.

Main Street Fitness has transformed my life! I joined about 8 months ago and primarily work with Nils, who has shown a level of commitment to improving my health that I didn't even know was possible. I have also worked with Aaron & Jackie and enjoyed their guidance as well. The people and atmosphere at Main Street Fitness make it a great place to work-out. I would highly encourage anyone to give them a try.

MSF has become my workout home--I love the staff and the clientele, and I feel completely at home with trusted, expert trainers. My workouts truly have changed my life and made me feel great. My trainer, Brian, has helped me to see that I really can do a lot at the gym--and totally enjoy it. This is a terrific place--I'm so grateful to be part of this group.

I so appreciate the staff at Main Street Fitness. I work with Jackie twice a week and have made consistent progress under her positive encouragement and knowledgeable expertise. When I have had to change schedules, since life does happen, they have other great staff members to fill in and meet my scheduling needs. My goals are functional fitness, flexibility, and improved cardio fitness for my long term health. This is the foundation of Aaron Cook 's approach to getting people to try Main Street Fitness and keeping us there. It really works for me. It's not crowded and is very convenient for downtown working people. I encourage you to join Main Street Fitness and reach your fitness goals. Evette

Main Street Fitness is the best gym around! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They actually make it so that I want to go and work out! They have a great mix of classes and personal training and equipment, so no matter what you are looking for they can tailor it just for you. They mix up the different workouts so you're never bored and you're always challenged. I highly recommend Main Street fitness!

Love this gym! Staff is really friendly and so are the members. I have been going here for almost a year, and I always feel like my needs are met. Smaller gym, so some equipment is lacking, but I've been willing to modify my workouts. Cheaper than other gyms and you can go whenever is easiest for you.

I've been going to Main Street Fitness for four years and have seen great results! My strength and endurance have increased immensely and continue to do so. I'm able to do all of the activities I love (hiking, biking, swimming, etc.) so much easier! The trainers are very supportive and have helped me along my journey. I would recommend this gym to anyone!

This is a great gym. I like that they are open 24-hours, so you can workout whenever is most convenient for you regardless of the time. I would like to see more early morning group fitness classes and also a spin bike added to the mix of endurance machines. Very clean facility and friendly staff!

I have attended this gym for years under previous ownership, loved it then and even more now that Matt is in charge. They have a really clean facility and good feel to the atmosphere and clientele. I never have to wait for machines or feel like I am in a contest against the other people in the gym. The boxing room is a great place to hit the heavy bag or speed bag, and a nice complement to a full workout. Also nice that they are open for members at all hours. Mini sauna is a nice perk as well!

Main Street Fitness is an excellent gym! The facilities are clean, and it's one of the few gyms to have platforms for weight lifting. The owners are approachable and very accommodating. I would highly recommend Main Street to anyone looking for a gym membership.

As an aging professional outdoor photographer I needed some help in maintaining and getting back into shape. I’m impressed with the quality of the staff. It has a welcoming feel and am always greeted with a friendly hello. The members seem to be concentrated on their routines so you avoid the stereotype meat market and social pecking order most big gyms tend to have. The personal training is impeccable. The off days from the trainer I still received motivation to keep at it be it cardio, diet or whatever the days plan was. The added human touch was refreshing and needed. Clean and friendly, I highly recommend Main Street Fitness.

Before I wrote this review I checked some of the other reviews to see if I had similar issues. To begin, let me state that Main Street Fitness and Main Street Gym aren't the same thing. It's kinda confusing I know, but if you're looking at the one star reviews of Main Street Gym, you aren't looking at reviews for Main Street Fitness. At one point some of the same people were involved with both gyms, but from my understanding, they are no longer associated. I don't know about the billing issues at Main Street Gym, but I move often for my job and have been able to cancel the billing for Main Street Fitness WITHOUT ISSUE. Yes, they are a month to month gym and yes, you have to give them a month's notice before canceling your membership, but that's pretty much it. I've encountered no problems canceling my membership, and I have canceled my membership. I intend to re-new my membership when I return from work.
That out of the way, I joined the gym for the boxing classes. I'm also a woman. I started in the class with pretty much zero boxing experience and after about 5 months of training have made big improvements. Some days are worse than others, but overall I love the classes. If you haven't noticed, Bozeman winters are dark and cold and icy, and I found that boxing has kept me in shape and energized throughout the short days. I enjoy going to the gym to box - I get a great workout, I get to interact with people I like, I don't have to plan my own workouts, I end the workout feeling like I've accomplished something, and I like the mental aspect of it. It's a great cardio workout, but you have to really work on technique, something that I really enjoy. Most of the members of the class are women (it's a coed class, but for whatever reason there are a lot of women in it) so I have sparring partners who are at my level and close to my weight class. There also isn't any testosterone filled bravado or weird class members hitting on me. It's a good environment.
After about a month or so of the initial boxing class, I took advantage of the personal training classes. Initially I was a little worried because they are expensive. Now I consider the money I spent on the boxing classes and training classes some of the best money I've spent in the last five months. I attend the boxing class two days a week, then do a personal boxing session one day a week. Along with the boxing class, I am allowed access to the gym 24/7, and will sometimes box outside of class with class members. I had no intention of spending this much time at the gym when I signed up, but I just really like it. The staff are nice, the space, while not as big as the Ridge, isn't usually crowded. I have no trouble getting on the machines if I want them, and it's clean.
I can't recommend the boxing classes enough. As I said, you're going to have good days and bad days (that's boxing) but I had a great winter here in Bozeman, and I know it is due in huge part to the boxing classes.
