You may find a large selection of equipment here all equipment functions well and is taken care of.

However, this is not a 24 hour gym, although it is advertised as one. Some staff may even lock the doors before the last call time frame has been reached.

You may also be chastised by staff if you grunt or kiap. Even if you are not being excessively loud, putting this type of effort into your workout is considered "gymtimidation."

This action, as well as similar actions, are deemed inappropriate and adverse action is enforceable under Planet Fitness policy.

In summary, this is in fact, not a gym that is "Welcome to all with no critics." They are attempting to make the best cradled environment for the the more lazy of their customers.

My normal gym is doing renovations so I needed a temporary gym to go to. I saw planet fitness had a free day pass to try while other gyms in the area charged ridiculous day pass prices. That is the one plus that I think all gyms should incorporate. The machines that they have are okay but are mainly focused on upper body. Not alot of lower body equipment. Also the equipment I did end up using felt so unnatural to use compared to my other gym I go to. I think they would be a better gym if they had deadlift platforms and actual squat racks for strength training.

Gym is alright.

Doesn’t have all the essentials but I think that’s by design.

My only complaint is the cheap toilet paper. We need something a little more heavy duty for those creatine dumps when they hit. Know what I’m saying?

I chose this gym for its distance to my home and convenience.

The only other problem-but it’s not PFs fault- is that I’ll show up and the bathroom is spotless then when I finish up and go to wash my hands, the bathroom is filthy. What’s wrong with the people that go to this gym?

I’m a truck driver so my reviews are #1 about parking because that’s usually the only concern. This location has no overnight parking signs and I think I saw it enforced this morning on a truck in the parking lot, guys knocking on truck with flashlights, I dk. I easily parked on the street which there’s a lot of street parking around this location, stayed overnight with no issues. Gym is spacious and nice, good location, I’ll be back

Was here at night and some security guard told me I couldn't park here..... Right outside of the gym I'm a member of...... The gym that I pay for.......uhm..... Why? Semi driver visiting this gym. I’ve been to at least 100 locations and this is by far the best can be tuff to park a semi nearby but if successful this gym is very large, roomy and has every piece of equipment you would expect plus more I’ve never seen the seated row is definitely exclusive to this Pfit. Staff is great and prices low are positives. Gym set up is horrible.
Negative is no mirrors in the back , there are little to no weights in the back part of gym so you have to go all the way up front to get them....could be less crowded up front if they would take some weights , a couple benches and mats and disburse them evenly instead of everyone being crammed in one corner. Makes no sense. Not enough kettle bells , some are missing and management's boss said no to ordering more of anything or moving stuff around to back. It's a waste of space.

I’m very disappointed with Planet Fitness in Missoula, Montana. I have belonged with PF for over 2 years. There hasn’t been any overhead music for a week which is kinda creepy, started out with 2 then it was 3 of the bicycles that have “out of order” signs on them for over a month. It seems like there is always something breaking down and it takes weeks to fix or longer! I would think for a business they would have an electrician, plumber, maintenance man on hand! Come on PF

I have been a member for about a year. They have everything I need and it is not too crowded. However I am about to cancel my membership.
They have 16 TV screens. Usually about 1/3 of them are devoted to "news". Usually somewhat balanced between the extremes, FOX "news" and CNN. In the past few months I have been in there many times when the only "news" on the screens was FOX. I have mentioned this to the staff on a few occasions and have not gotten a satisfactory response, until today. She said I was the fourth person today to say something that day, and that while she agreed with me, she had no control over the situation and that I should contact management during the weekdays. This uninformed, misguided, ignorance about what is happening to our country with trump and what has become of the republican party is terrible and we all have to stand up to it.

I tried to cancel my membership, the guy at the front desk told me it was inactive and to not worry about it. Fast forward twenty months--my wife tells me we're still being charged for two accounts (she never tried to cancel hers). The problem was I had three accounts in their system for whatever reason, and while two were inactive, one was still being charged. I drive over to the facility three different times trying to resolve this issue. The first time no managers were on site and I was told to come back. The second visit had the same issue, but the guy at the desk requested my information and said that he'd have a manager call me (that never happened). The third time a manager from a different city was on site, she said "sorry, there's really nothing we can do; there's no record of you ever canceling your account. I can send your request to our billing department, but I can't do much else for you". I never heard anything from their billing department.
It's a fine place to work out, and I recognize my situation is bizarre. It doesn't change the fact that the situation was handled poorly. They recognize that me having three different accounts is very unusual, they saw that I hadn't checked in in over 20 months, I explained to them that I was told I was good to go when I tried to cancel--none of it matters. What started out as a good experience does nothing but leave a sour taste in my mouth now.

I came back out told him what happened. I just wanted him to put a couple more minutes on the tanning bed. But he snapped at me like I had told him it was his fault. I had my membership cancelled today (5 December 2023) due to 'policy violations'. I dug out my membership contract to see if complaining about legitimate, potentially serious safety and sanitation issues, as well as allowing members to partake in illegal activity as outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act, is covered, and guess what: nope. I was forced to call corporate because I 'complained' about the manager's boyfriend literally breaking the law and was told by her that maybe I should find another gym. I was told over the phone that my membership was being terminated because a) I complained about Rachel's boyfriend bringing his non-service dog to the gym and b) I called corporate and the issue was 'escalated'. I was on speaker phone and my wife heard the whole thing.
In other words there were NO 'policy violations'. I'm a member, or was, and reached out to someone that could potentially help me address my concerns about safety and sanitation issues.
I spoke to my attorney after the events of today and he assures me that there is clearly a pattern of criminal negligence, especially as evidenced by numerous posts here. And if someone contracts, say, a lethal variety of e. coli while in the bathroom/shower area it's definitely going to be very bad for whomever owns the location (and for the record there is NO regional manager and the owner is 100% absentee and clearly not in touch with reality as evidenced by their reply to numerous complaints detailed here). I have also filed a detailed complaint with the BBB, for the record. Also, in replying to a complaint by Kandra Boler, the owner states that a signature is needed for any cancelations. I was not afforded this 'amenity' and instead my signature was forged on the document that was emailed to me, which has also been forwarded to my attorney.
Stay away from this place. That is unless you're one of Rachel's 'favourites'. Your overall experience won't be very pleasant.

Hydra massage chairs and massage chairs have been broken since May of 2023. I have requested to be moved from Black Card to the $10 per month membership MULTIPLE times because the whole point of having the Black Card was to utilize the massage stations. I don't mind paying $25, but then they also charge a $60 annual fee just for their amenities are out of order.
Last time I was in, the manager basically told me too bad so sad. I just called the store 3x. The phone is staticy and you can barely hear the person on the end of the phone before it disconnects. Extremely unprofessional and irritating

Reply to owner feedback: the issues I had brought up took over a month to resolve. An attendant reported the manager was aware and it was a corporate or ownership delay. Issues were massage machines broken. Stationary bike out of order over 1 month and men's locker room soap dispenser missing for over a month. There has been no hand gel in dispensers for years. Signs and videos promote social distancing and proper cleaning of equipment. The number one way to prevent the spread of germs is hand washing. Please provide the proper supplies. The manager and support staff are well aware. Seems to be an availability of supply/budget issue.

Unfortunately the people who run this club are very difficult to work with and were very rude when trying to deal with account issue and cancellation, and they claim to have no billing department.
I called my local club for help, they referred me to corporate. Called corporate, they referred me to the local club. Then the local manager was completely immature on the phone, continuously cutting me off and telling me to call corporate and refused to give me the name of the owner.
On top of these facts, I was hurt by one of their machines that broke while I was using it, that was not being maintained by the people who “work” there. I reported it and they shrugged of off without a care.
I won’t recommend this gym to anyone. Support your locally owned gyms.

I am not from this area. I have never been to the Missoula area previously. I was looking forward to getting my workout in at the Planet Fitness here in town. The positives are that the Gym is a larger one and has more options than some of the other Planet Fitness' I've been to. Now, the Missoula Planet Fitness is getting neglected. At my gym back home, they have already replaced all the weights and weight machines and the gym has been open for less than 10 years. The weights and machines weren't even in bad shape. This Planet Fitness desperately needs the weights and machines replaced. They are old and worn. Everything still works, but they are looking and feeling worn and tired. I don't know if this decision comes from the individual gym or from corporate, but it's time for a makeover.

Great gym, great equipment, but the training staff/employees are jerks. Young guy wearing filthy converse and zero Planet Fitness attire claimed he was an employee and cycling between 2 machines wasn't ok(after I asked if they'd use the other exact same machine that wasn't being used, so I wouldn't have to adjust everything again) and got all sorts of snotty about a simple request. I said okay and used the other machine. The "employee" then sat on the equipment for more than 5 mins talking. Brought up the issue to the employee at the counter and they shrugged their shoulders. They also don't enforce people wiping down equipment everytime. Good thing it's only $10/month. Update: I'd talk to a manager if she acted like she cared. She's been at the counter when I've addressed issues with other staff and she couldn't be bothered to look up from the computer while the other staff shrugged their shoulders. Great gym, lazy staff. Seriously, most times I'm there it's 2-3 young guys behind the counter staring at their phones. Today, I again addressed the members not wiping down equipment after using it and was told "I'll speak with them on their way out", but am I surprised that didn't happen? It's been okay. There are usually a lot of people at 5-6. For some reason, they ran out of papertowels to wipe down machines for a little while, so that was gross. Otherwise, it's been pretty normal.

Hydro Massage!
Very nice,very relaxing. During the massage I visited four different lands,enjoyed beautuful views of four different beaches. Afterwards Very refreshing.

I had tried to cancel my membership before I was charged the 49 dollar fee. I live 75 miles away and was not able to cancel until I was able to go in. I called and spoke to a member named Happy and explained the situation that I would be in the next day to cancel. Asked if I would get that refund and he rudely said "NO" so now I have paid for annual fee and am not able to use the gym due to the distance. They make it hard to cancel so that they can charge you. Very sad they have to stoop to that level.

Nice place to go for a cheap membership. Unfortunately, cancelling a membership is difficult. You can’t do it online or over the phone so if you’re out of town(like in my case) you have to write a letter to cancel which is very very very inefficient(I understand that this is stated in their policies but real dumb nonetheless) This also leads to annual fees that are charged when they shouldn’t be. I called about cancelling my membership and was told false information by the front desk about when my letter had to arrive in order to avoid these annual charges. This led to me getting charged $49 when I hadn’t been to the gym in over 2 weeks. I called trying to get this resolved, but nothing could be done. Very frustrating. Would recommend simply doing push-ups and sit-ups at home.

I know there is little that they can do and I will not blame them for the mistakes of where they work,
I can only hope they are being treated well as employees if the treatment I receive has been the way it has been.

TV channels 🤮. I couldn’t find one channel supporting workout. I tried everything to see some sports or physical activity going on to boost my motivation and everything was disturbing my energy. They got better channels at a sports bar

Honestly for a gym with this many options and so much inclusion, nothing at this price can beat it. There's two plans, one for 10$ a month and one for 25$ and you can bring a friend and use their massage and tanning (don't do that, be kind to your skin). Cannot recommend enough

It’s ok.. there is no soap in the showers, the curtains/liners are old and moldy. The gym has ZERO windows so it’s like a cave. The staff is friendly and it’s relatively clean. Their billing practices are shady! The charged my account for the annual fee after 4 weeks, then they take the monthly payment whenever they feel like it. It’s good if you’re in a pinch but there are far better gyms in town.

It's cold in Missoula. Like 14° kind of cold. That is one of the reasons why we older folks need the shower to actually be hot in the gym, not just sort of hot. And a little heat in the locker room would go a long way. Otherwise, as always, Planet Fitness rocks.

What a friendly place! The night staff is friken awesome!! Best crew ever and definitely superior to the day shift people. It's all love but this is a straight FACT.
Jason and Noah are the hunkiest Puerto Rican men I've ever seen in my life, and always greet me with a smile when I walk in. Getting jacked is even better when you're jacked up on good vibes.

This is the best gym I’ve ever been a part of! It beats 24 Hour Fitness, SNAP Fitness, etc. Can’t beat $10/month with all the amenities they have. It’s really the Night Crew that makes this place legit and separates it from other locations. I’m there 3-5 times a week after 10pm, and Noah and Jason have been welcoming with a smile, jokes, and encouragement every time I walk in and leave since my first day there. They keep the place clean too. Hook those guys up with a raise or bonus if you can! I’m new to Montana, so it’s nice to feel a part of the community with the staff and members there. I’m truly livin’ the dream every time I walk in there!

Edit - Since leaving my original review I received an email from the general manager who resolved my billing issue. When I came in I was nicely greeted by Kyla and Rachael who made me feel a lot better about the situation that I witness. They have restored my faith and that is how you run a business. Thanks guys!

I like coming here but I’m quite frustrated with the way billing works. They never seem to take my payment out when it’s supposed to so I always have an outstanding balance plus late fees. This has happened 3 times already please fix this issue. Not to mention I’ve seen the people working the front desk laughing and making fun of people. Absolutely not cool!! It takes a lot for people to come into a gym and to better their lifestyle and to be made fun of is upsetting!

Awful. The only employee that was on duty literally left the premises while people were in the facility. It was 40 minutes. Upon returning, I expressed my shock and displeasure that she did that (no yelling.. ) and she said it was only 20 minutes , but today's her last day anyways. She then told me to leave and called the cops. Lol.. good Ole Missoula. Why is PF even open if they can't staff the store. That has to be a major safety issue to have ZERO employees in the store. Yet I'm the bad guy for complaining. Companies are too greedy. There is no more accountability...

Ever since coming to this Planet Fitness, I’ve noticed immeasurable improvements to my lifestyle. In particular, the manager (Kyla), is always friendly and more than eager to show me the ropes when I’m confused about equipment. I feel like this gym has only gotten better since coming under new management!
