Used to go here because it was the only good gym but owner wasnt the greatest and some older guys that go there just ruin the environment, A new gym is coming though and its gonna be better.

It Really seems like he doesn’t want new members and is just chilling with his current clientele. I Called many times over a week period and no answer. He is rarely in the office either. It might be a good gym for heavy lifters but good luck actually getting in there to try it 👍 my business goes to another gym today

Patrick helped get me set up for a day pass on a Saturday while being away. Very grateful! Also, the facility is spotless with extremely unique pieces of equipment, good for everyone from your grandma to a football player. Can’t wait to make this my home gym.

I’ve been going to Fitness 101 for over 15 years, and I can honestly say it’s the best gym in town. The equipment is top notch—they’ve recently added a brand new glute-specific section, and there are multiples of all the most popular machines, so even during busy hours it’s easy to get your workout in without waiting around.

Patrick is an incredible trainer—super knowledgeable, approachable, and truly committed to helping you succeed. He’s one of those rare people who genuinely cares about your progress and makes the gym feel like a welcoming, motivating place. Whether you’re new to the gym or have been lifting for years, Fitness 101 has everything you need!

On top of that, the community here is unmatched. Over the years, I’ve made so many friends and meaningful connections through Fitness 101. It’s more than just a gym—it’s a space that brings people together, supports your goals, and helps you grow both physically and personally. I can’t recommend it enough!

I read all the reviews before joining and I should’ve listened to them. Don’t make the same mistake I did!!! Literally ANY other gym in town is going to be better than this one. If you do join and ever want to cancel, be prepared to not get a response back. I had my bank block the payments due to no response and then dude double charged me the next month. Coincidently, got a response after all that lol. Ya no. Luckily, I have an amazing bank that understood the wrongful situation and I got alllll my money back. I come from a long line of business owners and tried to be reasonable, but this guy is just unprofessional and irresponsible. I don’t want anyone to have go through what I did!😊

Messaged and called the owner multiple times trying to cancel membership. Received no answer. Left written notice of cancellation and my account was still charged. Had to go through my bank to report the charges as fraudulent. Owner has no morals or communication skills. Go to any other gym!

The gym was fine. But you will likely be double charged quite frequently, and you have to catch it on your bank statement to even know it's happening. Happened to me, my wife, and multiple friends. I had about a 6 month stretch where I had to catch him every month and get him to write me a refund check.

Also, I texted and asked how to cancel my membership cuz I was moving, and he said I had to place a written notice on his desk. Coincidentally, my gym code had been disactivated and I could never get inside to deliver it. After many weeks of this, while still getting charged, I kept contacting him multiple times weekly and he kept saying he would fix it, and never did. I eventually threatened to get the Nebraska Consumer Protection Office involved, and he had it fixed within literal minutes. He's just a man of embarrassingly poor character.

You'll sign a contract saying you'll pay $50 per month to be able to use the gym, but sometimes you'll pay $100, and sometimes you won't be able to use the gym despite paying.

He listens to his members preferences and suggestions and truly goes above and beyond. The staff also does an A+ job at keeping the place clean. Whether you are a novice or advanced weightlifter, Fitness 101 is the place to go in Kearney!

If I could give this place a zero star I would. We were told that we could cancel at anytime & now they are trying to charge us for a full year. The owner is completely unprofessional. Written notice was provided on multiple platforms & they won't accept it. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING with this gym. They will steal from you. Absolute shady business practices. Don't run here... run AWAY! They will intimidate you. They don't even have water fountain.

Macho man syndrome. Functions similar to a bar, alot of politics. I just had a really bad experience. Any dues you pay go nonrefundable, cameras have no audio, gang oriented security, noone paid/managing the building most hours of the day. Very cramped gym with some notable aggression-oriented patrons. Too much equipment for the space, seemingly uncalculated ratio of equipment to user space, not user friendly in many ways, but profitable i.e. more and more equipment and aggressive patrons, less and less room. You may not be able to find the space you need but you can definitely find a fight here if that is what you're looking for in an exercise. Less well managed than a prison yard, similar transactions.

Seems clear they don't want new members. Have stopped 3 times now to check out the gym. Door is locked and no one will let you in. Have tryed to call and it only goes to voicemail. Kinda stupid to me.
