Genesis Health Clubs at Midtown Crossing is an excellent choice for anyone who values an efficient and well rounded workout without needing a massive facility. While it may be smaller than other Genesis Health Clubs it smartly utilizes its space, packing in everything you truly need, a good selection of cardio equipment, ample free weights, and strength machines. The group fitness classes are always going on and a huge plus. This gym is a time saver because you can get in, get your workout done and get out without wasting time navigating a huge complex. This location is a superior choice for public transit as it's easily accessible by the ORBT Shuttle. The central location is already fantastic, and the forthcoming connection to the train car, plus Genesis brand new state of the art facility under construction adjacent are major reasons to join.

I have been a Genesis member at the Aksarben location for 7 years and the efforts put forth for repairs and cleaning have been mediocre at best. That has all changed since Tessa is managing the club. So many long overdue fixes have been completed, the facilities are so much cleaner, the equipment gets fixed quicker, got the cable back on treadmill TVs, and so on. Thank you Tessa for your great work, it is truly appreciated.

Am sure glad Bloc Fitness, Fly Fitness and Orange Theory moved into the downtown so we aren't stuck with Genesis any longer. I was a member since it was Prairie Life fitness and it has done nothing but go down hill since the sale. Nothing but issues and disgusting never working bathrooms. If you like heavy cruisiung, definitely the place. During a tour of the "NEW PREMIER LOCATION" come to find there will be no spin classes AT ALL. Studio space went to Paid pilates which is never busy and group exercise that nobody attends. The good trainers don't stick because they suck as an organization. The worst gym and worst decisions for the midtown location EVER. OBVIOUSLY whomever did the planning didn't do their homework as they don't have the pulse on the area.

UPDATE Nov 5, 2025
There is a new GM and she is making this gym location so much better. The locker rooms are now being cleaned, new soap dispensers are installed, hair dryers are now installed, and the insides of lockers have been cleaned! The HVAC on the main workout floor seems to be monitored and maintained at a good temperature. Finally some of the broken treadmills and stair masters are gone! And New well working stairmasters are here!
The best part is the GM is keeping an eye on the new gym being built out across the street. The gym is a way better design, and is slated to be open in Jan 2026.
Also, the old GM did not believe in group fitness (ex yoga, spin, barre etc). This new GM has bolstered group fitness at times that work well for me and most 9-5 working folks! Thanks Geri! You are the best!
Original Review 2024: The Midtown facility has HVAC and parking problems. The HVAC: this winter, the group fitness room was freezing. We did yoga in winter coats for months. This summer, the Personal Training, Spin and locker room are disgustingly hot, sweaty, and smelly (a great way to grow mold) due to lack of ventilation and no AC. The parking garage basically has broken entrances and exits for over 5 weeks.
.
I understand Genesis is only a tenant, but it is one of the largest tenants in the Midtown Crossing complex with paying customers. Genesis needs to put pressure on Midtown Crossing to actually provide building operations and maintenance in a timely manner.

Highly do not recommend this gym, membership cost is very high for the return and they charge enhancement fees annually, but in my time as a member never saw anything “enhanced”. There’s always some sort of equipment not working, and the worst aspect for me was the black mold in the showers. This location has much potential being in midtown without many competitors nearby and is so close to my work and where I live, but just such a poor experience.

Corporate: “PaRdOn oUr MeSs wHiLe we ReNoVaTe a cOmPlEtEly SEPARATE BUILDING” 🙄 it’s wild that you think opening a new location means you can just let the other one (that’s still being used) decay. Can you atleast fix the black mold in the mens locker room?

Edit: AC hasn’t worked properly all summer
Please make things right and reduce membership fees for those who use this facility.
I've been a regular at Midtown Genesis for the past two years and I'm reaching my limit. The air conditioning isn't working properly again this summer…the gym equipment and water fountains are broken more often than not. As others have mentioned the locker rooms are FAR from hygienic. The staff is friendly, but management does not take ownership over these issues, which are basic necessities that almost any other gym provides. Frustratingly, management excuses the poor conditions by reminding us that they lease not own the building, and that they are in the process of moving the gym to a new location. Despite this, Midtown Genesis still charges $59/month for a 12-month membership. If we aren't getting a clean, functional, and safe gym, we should NOT have to pay this much for our membership. If these issues are truly beyond the company's control, why not take ownership and lower our membership costs? Overcharging customers for a subpar facility month after month, year after year, has forced loyal customers to cancel their memberships. Unfortunately, I am in a similar position and may have to do the same if things don't change quick.

The staff is honestly tremendous for what they have to put up daily at this location - they get 5 stars. The facility itself should be shut down. There's been human waste in the 3rd floor urinal for two weeks now and the black mold and flies are returning to the bathroom along with ever growing moist stains on the locker room floor. If something breaks it might not ever get fixed ask a couple of the stair steppers there. The A/C and heat go out at literally the worst times, there's only two working drinking fountains in the entire gym and the others have been broken for years now! Seriously?! how hard is it to fix ONE drinking fountain. Additionally, the hot water was out for nearly two weeks in late 2024 and that was probably the 3rd time it had been out that year! Since the last "repair" the water AT BEST gets kind of warm in one of the showers. Lately the new fun thing is the washers breaking down so there are no towels, so not only do you get a freezing cold shower, you also get to air dry!! What fun! Oh did I mention the power was out last week one morning! Their new location hasn't been touched in months by construction crews and it's been pitch black in there ever since, so that new location isn't coming any time soon. Clearly genesis recognizes their monopoly here which is why not only has nothing changed it's gotten worse.
UPDATE: This is the current state of the Men's Shower area, it may actually make you less healthy to go to this location given there is black mold on the ceiling that will just get painted over.

It's brutal.
Air conditioning goes out regularly, making everything uncomfortable and humid. Mold is a problem in the bathrooms. Water fountains never work. It seems like they're delaying everything until they move across the street, but we have no idea when it'll be. They've given me a ridiculously hard time about my membership because my husband and I have different last names. They seem really understaffed, and I'm getting pretty fed up of paying this amount for a gym that's in a constant state of disrepair.
The one star is for the location, I guess. It should be a great gym, but managament is really just actively horrible. I wish Genesis hadn't bought up every gym in the area so we'd at least have some options. Their M.O. seems to be buying gym space and running it into a state of disrepair while charging exorbiant amounts.

The location is great, but I’m unimpressed with this gym for many reasons. First, there are always multiple pieces of equipment out of service, which stay that way for months. We were also promised the new location would open months ago, and there still has been no communication about the progress. Furthermore, the water fountain and AC has been broken multiple times in the last few months. The facility is also not very clean. The employees are nice, but it only goes so far when there are many factors that make it feel like Genesis doesn’t care about their member experience.

I’ve been to this Genesis location multiple times now, and each visit I leave disappointed with the facility. I have yet to see this gym in a truly clean state or with all its equipment in an operable state. It’s been difficult to continue using this gym because of all the issues. There’s been a number of thefts in the locker rooms as well. If this location weren’t the only gym within the area, it’s likely we would take our business elsewhere.

We’ve really tried to love this gym, but unfortunately it has done nothing to live up to basic expectations. I have been a member for 2 years, and we’ve experienced constant equipment breakdowns, lack of access to water fountains, and less than desirable communication skills from management. The women’s locker rooms are never stocked with paper products, and the air conditioning throughout the entire gym has been broken multiple times, some during the hottest days of the year. We were told the new and improved facility across the street would be open over a year ago, and there’s hardly been any progress made. Genesis midtown, we love your location and what your gym could be! Please take action steps to assure your “Member First” mantra!

Just not great, been a member for 9 years and this location is the only one that is close to my work. Unfortunately this is also the only location I continually have negative experiences with. AC broken, equipment not working, carpet with stains a foot. Just really not great only reason I’ve kept my membership is because they keep promising this magical wonderland that I fear may never come.

This is by far the worst gym in the Omaha area. Equipment is constantly broken and the machines they do have are inadequate to support the volume of members. The water fountains have been broken for years, the AC is out during the hottest days of the year, and they’ve constantly pushed back on when the new location across the street will open. Recently the lockerrooms were broken into- stealing wallets, backpacks, etc. and they did nothing to make the situation right. I’ve been a member for two years as it’s the only gym in the Midtown area but it’s consistently gone down hill - it’s now at rock bottom.

I really want to go to this location more because of how close it is to my home. I do like all the windows overlooking midtown, and I used to love to also be able to run the path outside after. However, since Genesis bought it , maintenance seems non existent. The last two summers at-least the gym is hot stagnant air. Idk if the ac works up there at all and the fans don’t seem to move the air one bit. Down to one water fountain that trickles out warm water also. Cables need tightened or adjusted in cable machines and cardio equipment usually has a few non working. I get that they are building another but they could do a bit more to keep it functioning. I was also getting stuffy and having a hard time breathing probably is mold or fungus in the stagnant humid air and it smelled like and old apartment hallway today.

I understand that you are building a new location but you are not keeping up the current location. A large number of lights have not been replaced; seems like a basic maintenance item) the equipment is old and its takes too long to get it repaired. I can remember when the leg extension machine went down and it was over a year before it was repaired or replaced. I have been a member since 2008 At this location and it has not been updated since opening and the basic repairs are not being done.

Gym equipment is falling apart! Womens steam room is always broken down. Poor communication with the club manager. He told me that the steam room was up and running went to check it out the next that and he lied it was still not working for 2 more days. I just canceled my membership. Went something last week and at least 10 machines were down. And on top of it when you cancel your membership they charge an extra month they shouldn't even do that since it's falling apart.

The one thing that caught my interest at this location is the variety of workout classes. The strength class taught by Abby is my favorite so far but I also enjoyed the Zumba class by Yvette . I also appreciate the variety of equipment available upstairs and the extra fitness room for stretching. I've previously mentioned to them that we need new, heavier dumbbells in the fitness class studio, and they've acknowledged that they'll replace them. The free parking garage is a great perk too. Overall, I've had a great experience at this gym. While there's room for improvement, I'm hopeful that the new location currently under construction will be even better.

Overall, I was impressed with my experience. However, this particular location--Midtown Crossing--was lacking in terms of gym equipment. The facility is outdated (although I was advised a new facility will be opened soon across the street) but is generally clean and obviously well-maintained and cared for.
There were some disappointments beyond the general appearance of the facility, though. First, there were only 3 or 4 free benches in the entire facility. It is a fairly large facility and I was expecting more, in terms of quantity, based on my experience going to other gyms. There was also a photo on the website that showed the line of free weights (dumbells) in the background, and since there was such a large supply, I figured there would be a sufficient number of benches. I was wrong. Also, be aware, the equipment is outdated. While that in and of itself is not the root of my complaint, outdated equipment breaks more frequently and sometimes there are pieces missing. Generally, this is not a huge issue; however, I did notice there were few 2.5 and 5lb plates. This was disappointing for myself as a female because I rely heavily on that range of weights to increase my strength. I can foresee these plates being used frequently and not being available during peak gym hours.
All that being said--after I logged into the portal and submitted a complaint, I was contacted immediately regarding my reservations. The facility manager was not upset I wanted to cancel my membership but explained he wanted to just talk so I could give him my feedback for improvements. He took everything I said as a way to improve the facility, and I could hear him thinking out-loud on how to remedy my complaints. He explained the facility does have more benches, but they are in the process of being repaired. He explained the repairs are sometimes slow because there is not an on-site maintenance/ repair person. He was very personable, helpful, and caring during my phonecall. I genuinely wished I was able to make the facility work for my needs because of the customer service I received. While the facility will not work for me right now, I do plan to try out the new facility across the street when it opens.

Place is in shambles. Don’t fall for the positive reviews on this. If you have actually been to the location, it is terrible! Mold in the vents on the men’s locker room entrance, mold on the ceiling of the men’s locker room, smells like mold, everything in the gym is either dirty or in disrepair. Takes months for equipment to even be fixed. Water station and some equipment have been broken for over a year. The men’s bathroom on the third floor is disgusting and a health hazard. I’m surprised the city hasn’t shut this place down!!! Been talking to the regional manager Jason Boice and he said they are “taking action to get everything back up to full speed and will be focusing time and resources to that location until this is accomplished.” “I will be increasing the amount of time I personally spend there as well until I am happy with how things look.” Well Jason, where have you been??? I guess it is up to Jason to decide if he is “happy with how things look.” What a joke. Save your money and go to a different gym. This place is terrible!!

I was really hoping to love this location. I feel I was sold a membership here based on false pretenses, but that's neither here nor there now. The staff has been friendly and that is why they get 2 stars otherwise I'd give zero. I signed up here at this location for convenience to where I live. Since the remodeling of 132nd I let go of my membership for 8 months as other locations just weren't up to par". When i decided to come into this location I was told if I didn't sign up that night i would lose the deal being offered. (This was not true) I also mentioned other locations lacking working equipment, specifically the women's sauna's. Since attending this location the sauna in the womens locker room has been out of order for almost a month. 3 locations no functioning womens sauna. I get the " run around" when asking about the repair. Tonight I was told, " Don't expect it to be fixed as they thought they were suppose to move, but didn't and may not be, but if so, they may go up in a tier and that could affect my membership costing more. " This had nothing to do with wanting to know when I can expect to use a womens sauna again. There are to many broken machines at this gym that stays broken down for months at a time. “Out of Order” signs are everywhere in the womens locker room. These issues are at multiple locations and seem like paying this much money for membership isn't worth it.

Powerlifters + Bodybuilders + Girlies who want Booty Gainz, listen up! When I travel to Omaha, this is the gym for me. For being a chain gym, it comes well-stocked with all the toys. There's a proper squatting box rack + a squat rack, there's a deadlift platform, there are bumper plates both for deadlifting and hip thrusting enthusiasts, and for the girlies booty - there's a hip thrust machine (good for low weight, high reps not for strength training) AND my new fave toy; a cable machine solely dedicated for the glutes with the proper base + ankle attachment 😍😍 (wish every gym had these then the ladies and the guys wouldn't have to fight over the cable machine for booty vs chest gains). For not being a boutique gym for our perspective sports, it comes hella complete. Obvs has all the other typical stuff you'd expect at a gym.

If I could give 0 I would. I am convinced the positive reviews of this “gym” are only because they give you a free t-shirt for leaving a review.
If you enjoy your workout being ruined because half the machines/equipment you want to use is being taken up by people on their phones and the other half has been broken for weeks/months, then this is the place for you! The cleanliness of the place is questionable at best (steer clear of the showers/steam room) and most of the workers are very unfriendly.
The place is a dump and it seems they are no longer making repairs to it due to the “new location” they’ve been talking about for a few years taking up any additional funds.
Do yourself a favor and go to a Planet Fitness. I guarantee it will be cheaper and a better experience.

This gym will be enough for people who want the essentials from their gym membership. Staff is friendly and are willing to assist if you need help. With there being limited gyms in the downtown area, this was one of my main appeals and I believe a major factor for many of the current gym goers. They have enough machines and equipment to do most exercises.
Some areas of change, which will hopefully be addressed when they complete the new gym across the street are as followed:
1. Fixing broken machines in a timely manner
2. Overall cleanliness of the locker rooms
3. Considering slightly more affordable pricing
Overall, solid experience that merits 4 stars.

My wife & I have been going to this convenient location 3-4 times / week for 8+ years. In addition to using the weight and cardio equipment (alone and working with a personal trainer), we’ve enjoyed the yoga and spin classes. The staff has been pleasant & helpful; class instructors have generally been quite good. This leased location has been open for about 15 years and is showing its age a bit. Genesis will relocate to a larger space (the old block-long Alamo theater) across Farnam that it bought and is converting into a new facility, perhaps by year end. It will be great to have a big, new gym with classes in this neighborhood. Until then, this works well for us

CUSTOMER SERVICE- from mangement . I've been a member of genesis healthclub for a while and within the last yr decided to make the Midtown location my home since it was close to home. This past weekend I had the worst experience at there location after referring a new potential member and the encounter with the manager Benjamin. He kept this person for a 1.5 hour talking to her then at the end of the conversation tried to sale her a 7day pass when she just wanted to try it out as she was new to the Omaha area. I tried to gain an understanding of the process as I under the assumption it was free and in turn recieved
unprofessional, unexperienced manager who laughed at the concerns brought forth and lied that they're was no one higher than he. The If this is who is leading this facility and the staff at this location, is leading staff to running an unsuccesful , unprofessiomal gym. I'll be reconsidering a new location or a new gym. The gym overall is not bad it's just the management. Thank you Jerry Hennessy at the Westroads location for being willing to take care of this new member .

If you ever want to cancel your membership with this place you need a lawyer to do it. The staff is not helpful about refunding you any money, they keep telling you it's corporate but, in the meantime, you are out thousands of dollars, I am exactly $1,174.95. I recommend to not do business with them.

I’ll keep it short, the gym is dirty and falling apart. If they are charging people $50 a month for a gym membership, you would think they would be more diligent about addressing issues but seems like it just snowballs and gets worse every year. I can honestly say the planet fitness on Ames street is more clean with better equipment than this place.

This place is horrible. Read the other reviews about the condition. But if you have a legitimate reason for needing to cancel your membership, such as moving to another city, good luck with that. It was a nightmare to get our membership cancelled. And they made us pay a hefty cancellation fee. This place is not about customer service, or providing a nice, clean gym with well-maintained equipment, and a friendly staff. It's all about getting your monthly fee. That's business. But Genesis does not care about you. At all. There are a lot a places that do care.

I absolutely love my experience at Genesis Health Center gym. As soon as I step through the doors, I am greeted with a warm welcome that instantly sets the tone for a fantastic workout session. The locker rooms are impeccably clean, creating a refreshing and comfortable environment to prepare for my workout.
Once I head upstairs, the energy is contagious. I am surrounded by dedicated individuals who are pushing themselves to their limits, giving it their all to squeeze out that last rep. This level of commitment and determination is truly inspiring and motivates me to push myself even harder.
Genesis Health Center gym embodies everything I look for in a fitness facility. The positive atmosphere, coupled with the well-maintained facilities, creates the perfect environment for me to achieve my fitness goals. I can confidently say that this gym has become my second home, where I can truly enjoy every moment of my fitness journey.
Thank you Sydnee for getting me started🫡

Filthy!! I told the staff about the elliptical machines and the manager said they will pass it along to the cleaning people when they come in tonight. I asked if she knows what the machines look like right now. She says “yeah I see them every day” and did not offer to send someone to clean it so I can use it! If common sense had a foot….

First off I do NOT want to blame any of the staff for the below issues. I believe this is a corporate issue, not a local staff issue. The staff is always helpful and willing to go the extra mile, but can only do what their corporate office allows.
The gym on the other hand has a few very big issues.
1. The air conditioning has been out for almost a month!
2. The vents in the wet area in the locker room are not working, for several months. Allowing mold to grow on the ceiling.
3. Walls half painted on the floor.

The employees are what make this location worth going to. They are always friendly, working hard and doing the best with what they have. However the gym itself seems to be falling apart. I pay $80 a month for a locker room with one working sink out of four, a steam room that is rarely working, gym equipment that is falling apart. If I want ot go to a gym that has most working equipment I have to pay an extra fee. Wish it was better considering how much I pay per month.

I have been a member of Genesis for over five years now and have utilized almost all their facilities in Omaha and some in the Kansas City area as well (RIP OneLife). In those five years, I have watched every gym they acquired slowly deteriorate to unsanitary and borderline unusable conditions.
It's clear their business strategy is to acquire every gym in the area, so there are no other options, but then they do ZERO maintenance on their properties or machines and neglect cleaning to the point their facilities become unsanitary and most of the equipment is broken.
Over the past two years, my home gym has been the Midtown location. When they first acquired this gym, it was BEAUTIFUL. It felt like a true health club with a great location and the amenities were nice. Over the years, this gym has deteriorated to the point it feels unsanitary to work out there because basic maintenance and cleaning has been completely ignored, to the point the properties are rapidly deteriorating.
For example, for the past year, at least 1/4 sinks in the women's locker room have been broken and clogged, which eventually turned into two broken sinks, with no efforts to fix for at least six months. Most recently 3/4 sinks were backed up with debris in the sinks for WEEKS. Leaving one usable sink and other three left to ferment with dark matter, likely creating the next viral outbreak.
Then there's the showers. Most days the showers look unsanitary. There's been multiple occasions I have tried to use the showers and each stall has massive clumps of hair across the walls and in the drains, indicating they haven’t been cleaned in a concerning amount of time for gym showers. If by chance they appear to have been cleaned, the showers in the women’s locker room have drainage issues, presumably a simple hair clog; however, if one shower is going for over a minute, the water does not drain and you’re standing in an inch of water.
I have found this kind of neglect is common at all their facilities. When recently at the Askarben location, all the shower stalls, except one, had no lights or was missing a light because they were burnt out. Changing lightbulbs is basic maintenance and it takes months, if ever, for lights to be changed. In addition, the showers at Askarben were incredibly disappointing. Once beautiful and nice, now there is mold build up around the fixtures, indicating poor cleaning standards and you can see the deterioration in what was once a beautiful gym.
Back to Midtown, let’s talk about the actual gym. Out of the five Stairmasters, only two of them work and this has been true for over 6+ months. As machines break, they don’t even bother to put a sign on it. You just learn what machines work and avoid the ones that don’t. In addition, there are several cardio machines that squeak loudly during use, to the point you can hear them through your headphones and across the gym. There is no urgency or concern to fix broken equipment and slowly machines are becoming unusable because basic maintenance isn’t performed.
The final straw and why I finally decided to leave Genesis this month, was when the air conditioning went out at Midtown multiple times over the course of at least a week. I understand this happens, but due to the lack of airflow, the true nature of this gym became apparent. It’s below freezing in Nebraska, but the smell at the gym was so rancid with the smell of sweat and urine, I barely lasted 15 minutes before I had to end my workout to prevent myself from throwing up from the smell. I truly do not believe the air quality was safe at that point. I’ve never seen a staff member clean a piece of equipment, which ultimately sets the tone for members. Barely any members clean the equipment after use and over time, this neglect now makes the gym feel unsafe because of the sanitation concerns.
To the leadership at Genesis, thank you for ruining every good gym in Omaha.

This place used to be great. Now the machines are broken for 4 weeks+. Sauna is not working more than it is functioning (currently is working) Put some money back in the place and restore it.
This photo is a great example. This piece broke over a month ago and now has a sign that says “Will be fixed asap” I am not sure it takes 5+ weeks for a repair to happen.
Original post 8/9. Update 8/24 and machine still broken! Update 9/5 still broken. Update 9/10 still broken. 9/20 still broken. 10/1 still broken! Now it doesn’t even have a fixing sign up. Fix this dang machine !!!

Every club has little things that are better are worse than other clubs. I have made this club my primary gym everything has been good. But the guy at front desk who did everything left club all started spiraling down with (cleaning, towel services, just all around, broke steam room, machines down) not good. Then two new employees showed up sm lady dark hair don't know name, & Enrique happy to say they have revived the club. Nice, friendly but most importantly club is up running at Level should be. Machines seem to be repaired quicker, towels always good, steam room up running, they have definitely done what needed to be done to get club back up to par, which I'm happy about. I had thoughts of switching not anymore. I pay for a service when it's not good I say something or ask questions. When it's clear you see effort to make things better it's only right to say thank you.

I’ve been a member of this gym under various ownership for 8 years and it has never been in worse condition than since Genesis took ownership. Machines are not well maintained, and if broken, take months to be fixed. Many of the benches have tears and the cable machines are nearly unuseable. It’s disappointing to see such decline in what has always been one of the best gyms in Omaha.

Going down hill, plummeted within the last year. Probably one of the best locations for a Genesis yet one that has some of the worst turn around times. AC was broken nearly all summer. Leg extension was broken for over a month and I come back today and they took it away all together and swapped in a tricep machine. I’ll update my review if there’s any progress. Not sure if the owner isn’t interested in investing in this location or if there’s some ownership changes coming soon… only thing that makes sense.

I've had so many complications with my membership and trying to cancel it. I'm a college student and they were charging me $90/month for my membership even though the facility is NOT very nice and up to date at all. When I tried cancelling it, they kept charging my bank account and would need a membership services employee to be present for me to cancel it. I can't cancel it online or over the phone so when I went in a few times to cancel, no membership person was there and I wasted my time and gas to drive there just to be told no one could help that day to cancel. When I FINALLY was able to get ahold of someone in person, they were rude to me about cancelling my membership, asked very personal questions as to why I no longer wanted to be with their gym, and then told me if I want a free membership to get a job with them. I already work two jobs and am a full time student which they already knew so I don't know why they told me to get a job with them.
ANOTHER issue I've had is my G Perks Rewards portal. I was told if I sign up with my bank account routing number they will withdraw monthly fees from my checking account and I will receive a $200 hotel voucher on my G Perks. However, I still haven't received this voucher and everyone I have called about it doesn't have the answer or doesn't even know about an offer like that. I have left my name and number for someone to call me back multiple times and no one has called me back. I've had to personally follow up multiple times a week and am frustrated no one knows what's going on or I can't get ahold of anyone because the phone will ring then hang up or membership services isn't available. I feel like I'm getting scammed at this point and the communication between staff is incredibly poor and no one knows what's going on or how to get ahold of membership services.
If I am paying $90/month I expect the customer service to be good and expect that someone picks up the phone when I do call. I'm also frustrated that membership services is hardly ever available and it's extremely hard to get ahold of them.

So fun here! Such friendly staff all throughout. Great to get any kind of workout in whether it’s on your lunch break or a more in depth solo or group session. The schedule for the included (no additional charge) classes are mostly timed around the 8-5 work life too!
Wide variety of machines (both cardio and strength training) with space to use a yoga mat. The padded track around the equipment is pretty cool, too, to get some lower impact cardio in (vs walking the mall).
Personal favorite features -
.Can’t wait to take a Spin class (included).
.Steam rooms.
.Massages (extra).
.Tanning (extra).
.Validated parking.
.Hosted social events throughout the year.
.Views of Midtown aren’t too bad either!
Downsides -
.The equipment could use some TLC, but that’s understandable for inheriting it from the previous gym.
.I know I came in after the A/C was fixed, but even then it’s not a new building.

This is literally the worst gym. No maintenance including broken steam room(s), plumbing, lack of AC or broken ACs, some of the weight equipment has been broken for months, they can’t even change the light bulbs. The management is awful and Genesis Corporate is literally the worst. I would never recommend this gym to anyone.
Douglas County Health Department will be notified of the mold in the locker rooms.
Midtown Crossing should invalidate their lease since it is substandard.

This used to be my favorite club to go to when it was owned by prairie life and even the club that took over after them. However, once genesis took over, I have never seen it so bad. Everything is broke and who knows when it will get fixed. Machines have been sitting there broke for several months and there is never anyone working on them. The mens and womens saunas have been broke for a significant time and of course, nothing is being done to fix them. The club used to have staff that enjoyed their jobs and took pride in keeping the club maintained. Now, they look so unhappy and that they hate their jobs. I feel horrible for the staff/trainers that have to give yours to potential customers. With everything broke and dirty, there would be no way anyone in their right mind would sign up based on the condition of this club. I have been going to this club for years and it’s sad that I am now looking for other places to go.

I've been working out at this location 3-5 days a week the last year and have come to enjoy it a lot. The equipment is generally well-maintained and the space is always clean. My fellow gym-goers are always courteous and respectful with rare and forgivable exception (sometimes someone's hogging all the free weights or spending too much time at a power rack, for example).
My only issues thus far have really had to do with a few maintenance issues -- there was a brief period of time when the location had no hot water and there's the occasional broken machine. (I don't have much insight into how long it usually takes to repair gym equipment so I can't speak to the speed/efficiency of repairs.)
Overall I'm very satisfied with my experience at the Midtown Genesis location and plan to continue working out here for the foreseeable future! 👊

Mechanicals are frequently broken. Since ive been going to this gym the AC was broken for about a week. The hot water heaters are also frequently broken id say at least 6 times in 2021-2022---the staff never bothers to put up signs when this happens so youre in for a real surprise some days with 40 degree water. The ventilation in the showers are also frequently broken down to the point the ceilings been re-painted at least twice to cover up the mold problem. I dont frequent the steam room often but that too was broken down a few times.
The equipment upholstery has some major wear and tear---some machines could use some basic maintenance.
I really want to like this gym more---its convenient and the staff are friendly. Some basic maintenance and mechanical upgrades would go a long way here.

I initially signed up for the month to month basis. $50 a month…. I was being charged $60 monthly. Was never told I needed to add my bank info to receive the discount. I was later charged $47 for an anual fee even though I had signed up for a short term month to month. You basically get hit with all kinds of different charges and when you go to cancel they become extremely rude. I spoke with Peggy and was basically threatened to be sent to collections without any explanation. Save your money and go somewhere else. It’s an overpriced gym, lack of clean towels, bathrooms and sauna smell like something died inside which you can see several other reviews complaining about how nasty the locker room, showers and mold issues they have. Seriously…. do not sign up here. I’m glad I ended my contact with them and will not be returning to an over glorified gym.

I've tried out quite a few gyms in Omaha to find my favorite place for a quick workout when I am in town. Genesis at Midtown Crossing was a clear winner! The staff is super friendly and accommodating and the managers, Sean and Jason, made sure to work with me to make sure my experience at Genesis was great. I think one the strongest indicators of good management is how often the managers are actually there. So I like the fact that I have yet to go when they were not. Additionally, they do a great job hiring as everyone else I've met, like Peggy and Cameron, have always greeted me with a smile at the front desk. And just as an added bonus, I've never seen towels folded more perfectly, that thanks to Cameron. I will keep coming back, and seriously recommend this gym to anyone considering memberships.

Don’t try to contact them online either, as they won’t make any effort to respond. If you have to talk about anything with them, you have to go in to get anything done. This was my first time visiting this gym, and I loved every bit of it. Spacious gym space, plenty of various machines (you prolly wont need to wait for anyone to finish their before you start yours), and free weights, you name it!
I would like to give a huge shout out to @Lilly, who assisted me at the front desk, and offered me a few days of trial sessions without which I wouldn’t be able to share this wonderful experience with you all. Totally worth it!
Unfortunately, I am super uptight with my schedule for a month or two…..
Super pumped to join soon though and get them GAINZ!! 💪🏻
