I have been dancing at Heartland for 7 years and I absolutely love it here. The teachers are so supportive and kind. They are all so professional and have amazing advice and teaching skills. I have learned so much from my time here and have gained so much confidence. I have learned more than just dance technique but also important life lessons and skills. The teachers there don’t just care about teaching you how to dance the best you can but how to be the best person you can be. The environment is so supportive and cheerful. The students are so friendly and I am always so excited to come to dance everyday.

Heartland is an outstanding school. The training is second-to-none The staff is knowledgeable and infinitely professional. They also provide students with training in personal responsibility from a young age; this alone is an incredibly valuable skill. Additionally, we have an annual opportunity to participate in a student ballet that affords students opportunities very akin to those they would encounter in a professional setting.

We love the instruction, programming and dedication to the art of true dance. Your studio was everything we were looking for and the girls grew immensely as humans and as dancers in your care. Both girls dance constantly and put on ballet performances for us weekly.

Our daughter has been attending Heartland Conservatory of Dance since the age of 5. Over the last 3 years, we have loved watching her grow in both technique and her love for ballet under incredible instructors who are certified in American Ballet Theater’s national training curriculum. All of the instructors truly care about each student as a person and our daughter has thrived in a very encouraging and highly technical environment. Every fall, HCD puts on a professional full length ballet production, through its affiliation with the Heartland Youth Ballet. These performances give students the opportunity to learn about stage performance, how to work together in a group and with guest artists, and the importance of hard work. We are so thankful to be a part of such an incredible dance family at Heartland Conservatory of Dance.

My daughter has been taking classes here for 2 years and is a member of the youth ballet. She has grown so much as a dancer since we moved to Heartland. The training is top notch. I am also so impressed with how much Rachel and her team care about the kids and their well-being. Each dancer's training is unique to their needs and skills. I highly recommend HCD if you want a nurturing environment with a focus on ballet technique with unique performance and competition opportunities. We love it here!

My 9 year old daughter transferred to this studio two years ago. We were drawn there for a few reasons, including the opportunity to perform in full-length ballet theatre productions (on top of end- of-the-year showcase recital)! My daughter began to truly blossom and is thriving in this environment where she is given high quality instruction while being encouraged to develop into a well-rounded young lady.

UPDATE: My 9 year old is now 13 and still flourishing at HCD. So thankful for the abundance of opportunities she has been given there, specifically through Heartland Youth Ballet! My younger daughter is now 10 and also enjoys ballet, jazz, contemporary, and performing in HYB's full-length productions. Heartland has been an encouraging environment for us all!

HCD is an amazing studio with amazing teachers! I’ve been a student for a few years now and have loved every second of it. I came into this studio a little later in age than most girls, but the teachers made me feel so comfortable and were more than willing to help me catch up! Heartland Conservatory has been my home for dance my entire life. There are a number of things that keep me coming back. The teachers are amazing, the studio environment is open, respectful, and friendly, and there are extensive performance opportunities both in and outside of Heartland Youth Ballet. I have learned so much about dance and life through being a student here. Heartland taught me that having a "ballerina body" is not what makes you a good dancer, that hard work and dedication are just as important as talent, and that perseverance and patience are crucial to making it in the dance world and life in general. I learned that people look at your character and the way you treat other people as much as your actual abilities. Currently I'm entering my third year of college, double-majoring in dance and anthropology, and I could not have gotten here without my experiences at Heartland Conservatory. I know how to perform and how to conduct myself in dance situations because of Heartland, and HYB's participation in the Regional Dance America festival opened so many opportunities for summer intensives and higher education that I would not have gotten otherwise. I definitely recommend this studio as a place to both take classes for fun and seriously study dance. I have had such a good experience here, and would suggest it to anyone looking for a studio in the Omaha area!

I'm a fellow ballerina of 16 years and 8 years of theater and music. I also taught for a few years so I'm super picky when it comes to choosing a dance studio for my girls. I absolutely adore the teachers and I love the discipline and respect they expect out of the students. They are very strict in the foundation of ballet which is what I look for in a dance studio. They are also very personable with the kids and have a fun and safe environment. I will recommend this studio to anyone that wants to take their dance techniques to the next level.

I honestly have nothing but good things to say about Heartland Conservatory of Dance. We have been with the studio since 2017. I currently have a girl and boy involved with the ballet classes and myself when able, utilize the fantastic Pilates studio. I am continually impressed by the instruction and care offered at this studio. All of the instruction is to the benefit of each individual student and they want nothing more than to see your child succeed. Currently, as someone who works in healthcare, I really appreciate the studio offering spring and summer classes through zoom so that my kids can continue to socially distance as well as continue their learning. HCD is simply the best and I’m so glad we became part of the family.

HCD offers more than professional dance instructors, there is also the opportunity to to perform throughout the community, by auditioning for Heartland Youth Ballet. Miss Rachel helps her students grow and develop both physically and mentally while building their self esteem and confidence.
Her studio is absolutely beautiful! I particularly like that she provides daytime classes two mornings a week, this is popular for mom's with little ones who prefer morning classes. This has been popular, because many if these mom's also visit together while watching their child dance.

Our family moved from Seattle to Omaha this past year, and were hoping that we could find a dance studio for our daughter that was of the same caliber as her previous ballet school. We were fortunate enough to learn of Rachel Vickrey and Robin Welch through a lucky conversation with a stranger on an airplane to Omaha. Once we contacted Rachel, we learned that she and Robin had been connected personally and professionally to our daughter's previous ballet teacher- we knew instantly that we had found the right place. Our daughter has enjoyed every minute of her classes at Heartland Conservatory of Dance and has even mentioned on occasion that she enjoys dancing here more than she did back in Seattle because of the personal attention she gets from her teachers along with many more opportunities to perform. The teachers at HCD truly care about each of their students and strive to provide the absolute highest quality ballet instruction in all of Omaha. The dancers learn wonderful technique, build discipline, make lasting friendships and are encouraged daily to be their best selves in and out of the dance studio. We have found our dance family and cannot recommend HCD highly enough!

This dance studio is absolutely beautiful! You receive a warm and friendly welcome when you come in The instructors are truly focused on giving your child (or yourself if your taking dance) the best possible training anywhere.
Opportunities are endless. Ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater and even a class for boys is offered on Saturday mornings. Two ballets are put on each year and of course the "showcase" at the end of each year. Miss Rachel is so amazing and so dedicated to her students.
