I was referred to Lokahi after expressing a desire to start training in Brazilian Jiujitsu by a colleague and it was by far the best introduction I could have asked for to the sport. The instruction, community, and general vibe is friendly, welcoming, and a warm, motivating environment to train under.
Though I'm relocating, I am grateful to have started my journey in BJJ at Lokahi and will miss the gym wholeheartedly.
I strongly recommend this gym to anyone in the Omaha area!!

Lokahi Jiu Jitsu is truly an exceptional gym. The facility is brand new, spotless, and clearly cared for. The leadership here is outstanding, and the teachers are some of the most knowledgeable, patient, and motivating people I’ve ever trained with.

From day one, they were incredibly welcoming. As a newcomer, I never once felt out of place. They guided me step-by-step through my Jiu Jitsu journey from the very beginning, always making sure I understood the techniques and felt confident on the mats. The culture is supportive, respectful, and genuinely focused on helping everyone improve.

If you’re looking for a clean, professional, and encouraging environment to start or continue your Jiu Jitsu journey, Lokahi Jiu Jitsu is absolutely the place to be. Highly recommended!

I have so many positive things to say and feel for Lokahi. For starters the instructors care & appreciate every single person that steps foot on the mat & off of it. New people are welcomed with positive attitudes, patiences, & step by step instructions. It does not just stop there the people who train here seem to be just as welcoming & willing to help teach in any ways they can. As a woman it is harder to find a gym that doesn't feel toxic. Since starting at Lokahi I have always felt respected & gained so much confidence in not only my abilities but also knowing what atmosphere I now expect for gyms to train in. I would 100% recommend trying a class and getting to experience it for yourself!

Truly the best. I’ve been to 7 different schools now and this one is easily my favorite. A full facility with great amenities, clean, solid atmosphere, and an extremely hospitable community — LŌKAHI is everything I could want in a gym.

The best place to train at in Omaha hands down. The environment, people, coaching, pricing, and especially the cleanliness (doesn’t smell of sweat like every other gym) is next level. Lokahi does an amazing job at teaching jiu jitsu whether you’re a beginner or have trained before. I loved the basics classes that Guy and Ryan taught as they break down jiu jitsu so people who have never trained before can get better week by week. This paired with Isaac’s great class on Monday’s, where it is more of a live environment, makes it fun to improve every-time you step on the mats. If I had to choose one place to train at in Omaha, it would Lokahi every time.

Stopped by on Sunday July 6th from out of town. There was one other student there for a 9AM leg lock seminar.

Coach Jason gave us both his utmost attention, and it was a fantastic class. I would definitely stop by again!

10:15 came around and everyone started rolling in for the open-mat. I didn’t have time to stick around for it but they had a good turn out and a large mat space! The facility looks great!

I have been going here for a couple of months now, and I must say Lokahi is a really awesome place to learn and train jiu jitsu! The atmosphere in the room is extraordinarily positive and welcoming to people of any age or experience level. I have been practicing jiu jitsu for a little over four years and have trained at a handful of gyms in that time. This gym is for sure safe to practice at: I haven’t felt like I was going to get injured by anybody I have rolled with. I also just moved to Omaha and the owners and instructors are super friendly, respectful, and down to earth, and I am very grateful that they have made me feel like a part of the community right away.

The facilities are really nice and thoughtfully laid out. Plenty of mat space to work with so minimal concern about running into other people when rolling. There is a complete weight room in the same building which is rare to see at a jiu jitsu gym so that is super cool. Complete restrooms/changing rooms with showers. Membership options are really flexible which is great for whatever individual situation you might have for training time available or the duration of your stay in Omaha.

The level of instruction and training is high here but there are a lot of people who train here with a wide range of skill levels, so pretty much anyone of any experience will find good training partners here. Instructors go out of their way to give individual advice to people training, even outside of normal class time.

There are both gi and no-gi classes but most of the classes are no-gi. There is a community open mat on Sundays which is free for anyone to attend, which I find to be a quite generous thing for a gym to offer. People from other gyms in the area regularly go to that so you can get a wide variety of grappling styles. In case you are curious, that open mat is almost entirely no-gi, so if you are considering going plan accordingly.

If you have moved to Omaha and are searching for a new home gym, or just traveling through the area, I highly recommend checking out Lokahi!

I dropped in to Lokahi on a random Thursday and could not have been more impressed. As an experienced practitioner I have been to tons of gyms and this ranks among the highest for quality of instruction, friendliness, and cleanliness. I would recommend Lokahi off their hygiene practices alone. I highly recommend training here.

Let me tell you folks—this Jiu-Jitsu school? Absolutely incredible. People are talking about it. I’ve seen a lot of gyms, believe me, a lot—but this one? The BEST. The instructors? World-class. Tough, smart, disciplined. Some of the best grapplers you’ve ever seen. Maybe even better than me—maybe.

They teach you how to win.
Not just roll around on the mat—WIN. Arm bars, chokes, sweeps—you name it. Beautiful technique. Tremendous energy. You walk in feeling like a regular guy, you walk out feeling like a CHAMPION. It’s like learning the art of negotiation, but on the ground—only tougher.

Clean mats, strong people, very safe. They respect everyone—kids, adults, even beginners. Total respect. A very classy operation, run by total pros. You want confidence? You want strength? You want to be a winner? This is the place.

5 stars. No question. Maybe 6 if they let me. Tremendous school!

This is a fantastic jiu-jitsu dojo!!! The instructors here are down to earth guys who welcome students of all walks regardless of experience. Classes are taught well, with a healthy dose of instruction on the technique being taught while you're learning and sharpening your skills.
The best part about Lokahi is that they aren't pushy. No one is pushing you to compete in the upcoming tournament, or to commit to some long term contract, or to preform at a specific level. Another shining star lies in their student base. Great guys all around, very welcoming and didn't make a new guy feel like he didn't belong.
If you are looking to get started in the world of jiu-jitsu, look no further than Lokahi!

Absolutely love this place! My kids have been training here for a few months now, and the growth we’ve seen—both in confidence and discipline—has been incredible. The coaches are not only skilled, but they also truly care about the development of each child. Highly recommend this gym to any parent looking to build character, confidence, and resilience in their kids through jiu-jitsu.

With no prior training history, I was very diligent in my search for a local gym to start my Jiu-Jitsu journey. I was very nervous and anxious about getting started until I stumbled across Lōkahi Jiu-Jitsu Collective in a google search.

I reached out to them for information and within a few hours, Nolan reached out to me directly. Rather than focusing on marketing the gym to me, he had a conversation with me about my journey. He seemed genuinely interested in understanding my “why” and you could feel his excitement for Jiu-Jitsu in his voice. He shared his story and answered any questions that I had about the process.

I am now 5 months in and my experience at Lokahi has been second to none. Every day I walk in, I feel at home. Coaches are always there early and greet you when you walk in. Everyone I have met so far has treated me with respect and pushed me to get better. I played a lot of team sports growing up, but I’ve never felt the sense of community that I feel when I am at Lōkahi. The group is very supportive and passionate about the culture.

The classes are structured well. As a new white belt, you are required to complete their Foundations classes. These classes teach some basic techniques and best practices to roll safely. They are a little bit lower intensity and primarily focused on building a good baseline for your skills.

I have primarily trained with Nolan and Guy, and each of them bring something unique to the mat. They’re knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping you improve. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to level up your game, this is the place to be. I couldn’t imagine a better environment to start my journey.

Thanks team!

I can’t say enough good things about this gym in Omaha! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the top-notch facilities — clean mats, spacious training areas, and even thoughtfully designed amenities that make the experience comfortable and convenient.

Teaching: The instructors are all experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled at breaking down techniques at all levels. Lessons include demonstration, drilling, and some live situational rolling.

Gym: Everything is well maintained and clean. The locker rooms are spacious and have showers. There's also a full gym with equipment for a wide variety of training.

If you are looking for a gym that feels like a family you have come to the right place! The coaching staff , team, and families involved in Lōkahi are some of the most genuinely kind and loving people you could ever meet. I have made life long friendships here, I found my career because of Lōkahi! The curriculum is well rounded and our coaches have each student in mind while instructing classes. Each week Lōkahi is open to the community no matter what gym, color, age, experience, everyone is welcome to come watch and participate it’s very cool! Every weekend is full! The amount of mat space is also unreal! As a student I’d like to thank each and every member for their support, encouragement, and dedication. Most importantly I would like to thank Coach Ryan he took in a prideful young dumb kid who thought he could out muscle and out grit everyone and showed me how combat sports are truly to be treated with dignity and an emphasis on technique Lōkahi is truly Ohana. Lots of reasons to give this gym 5/5.

To start, it’s very spacious, clean, and the equipment are in pristine condition.

The coaches are patient, understanding, approachable, and very talented. You don’t always get that combination at other gyms so it’s a breath of fresh air to find it here. If you’re lookin to up your jujitsu training, Lokahi is perfect for you. The warm ups are insane, and the drills are even better.

You know when you’re at a good gym when the very students take the initiative and clean up the gym after practice. All of that without being asked to. They gym owners always do events for us and it’s just a nice way to get to know each other and feel like a family.

They have open mat available for anyone from any gym to train for FREE every Sunday. You won’t find that anywhere else. I think it speaks volume about how welcoming they are to the entire jujitsu community without having any rivalry over other gyms.

Lastly, there is opportunity for advancement in the gym. Your skills and effort don’t go unnoticed. The coaches give students the opportunity to coach classes. They have ran them effectively, even when the main coaches have been out of the gym. It’s a lot of responsibility, but no one seems to mind since again, theres a strong family bond there. New comers integrate easily too, so it’s not like you’re ever left out. Definitely check it out!

Outstanding place to train Jiu-Jitsu in Omaha. Lokahi Jiu-Jitsu has knowledgeable and strong instructors, a clean and spacious facility, and friendly yet competitive members! They also have showers, which is a must for anyone commuting. Even though I have a desk job, I get great training here. Lokahi Jiu-Jitsu is perfect for both competitive athletes and hobbyists!

I dropped in for an evening class from Lincoln, and was very impressed by the quality of the facilities. Ryan and the rest of his team have created a welcoming atmosphere, with many of the members taking the time to introduce themselves. The instruction was solid and easily digestible, this gym will be my recommendation to anyone in the Omaha area looking to learn jiu-jitsu.

I had a great experience dropping in for some classes at Lōkahi Jiu-Jitsu while in Omaha. Whether you reside in the area or are looking to get some time on the mats while away from home, you will surely not be dissapointed paying them a visit.

The head instructor, Ryan Yamada, was very welcoming from the moment I reached out. His instruction is detailed and his students reflect his positivity and enthusiasm towards Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The facility itself is fantastic with top of the line weight equipment, clean showers, and plenty of open air. Overall, nothing but great things to say about the instructors, students, and gym itself.

Can’t recommend LŌKAHI highly enough. Whenever I am in Omaha, i try to get in there to roll. That’s because I learn something new every time I’m there. This despite being a black belt who’s been in the game for over two decades.

I have been training BJJ for almost a decade and if I had to build the ideal facility this would be it for many reasons.

1. The facility was built from the ground up by jiujitsu enthusiasts for all skill levels to enjoy. There are showers and plenty of mat space for all to enjoy. Plus, they have partnered with The Lab to provide a one stop shop to get a pump and sharpen one's skills on the mat.

2. The location is easy to get to (close proximity to the major highway) and there is enough parking for a small army to assemble for morning and evening classes.

3. The coaching is world class! Each coach takes their time to expand on the small details that make a world of difference. The coaches are attentive and provide a learning environment where questions are welcomed not shunned.

4. The environment: This is the best part. When you walk in you become family. Everyone there is more than willing to ensure you have the best possible experience, while guiding you along in your journey. I found the best training partners here at Lokahi!

I may live in Colorado but whenever I am in Omaha, Lōkahi is my home! I have been training with professor Yamada and Campbell almost since the start of my jiu jitsu journey and have followed them in Omaha. I am beyond thrilled for them to have their own space in which they can institute their own means and methods for training! Every time I train Lōkahi, I walk away a more complete practitioner and always learn something new! No matter where you are in your jiu jitsu journey, Lōkahi has the practitioners and the instructors to amp up your game and help you reach that next level! Everyone is super accommodating and welcoming and always make me feel right at home whenever I train there! I cannot recommend Lōkahi highly enough! Check them out, you wont regret it!!

I travel to Omaha for work regularly and am so glad to have found Lōkahi. Ryan was extremely accommodating and was there to answer any questions I had on and off the mats.

Feeling welcomed in a new gym as a woman isn’t always the case but this team made my time there feel like home.

The skillset, cleanliness and culture at Lōkahi are next level and I can’t wait to come back.

Super nice facility with a welcoming vibe. Everyone was nice and there were some good rolls at open mat. I like the culture that they bring and it is the type of place that you feel comfortable visiting.

If you're looking for a dojo to join, give them a try. They have Gi and NoGi classes. Sunday open mats are from 10:30am to 12:00pm and the community is welcome.

Thank you!💪🏽

By far the best place to train and learn the art of BJJ in the Midwest. The coaches are wonderful and always prompt to give you feedback or answers to any questions you may have. Very clean facility with a gym inside. The gym has all new equipment and a very qualified physical therapist that will work with you as well. The people who train at Lokahi are great people to train with and learn from. Nobody here is out to hurt, humiliate or leave you unsure of what the goals and plan is whenever training. When you choose this gym to learn the best martial art there is to learn, you will not be disappointed. Great job Lokahi Jiu Jitsu Collective✅

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this jiu jitsu gym, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The facility itself is beautiful and impeccably clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment from the moment you step inside.

The people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. As someone who is older (I’m over 45) I was initially a bit intimidated, but that feeling quickly vanished. The presence of female practitioners also contributed to a sense of inclusivity and safety, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Professor Nolan is fantastic. He brings a great vibe to the class, making learning both effective and fun. His teaching style is approachable and encouraging, which is perfect for practitioners of all levels.

Overall, I highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in jiu jitsu. They offer a new beginner class through the week and whether you’re a first timer or have years of experience, you’ll find a supportive community and excellent instruction here.

Jiu-jitsu paired with the right culture becomes addictive. Lokahi offers a great culture and quality teaching that makes you want to attend as many classes as your schedule permits. Whether you attend a 6am class like myself or an evening class, you will feel welcomed and not fear injury. The training partners are great people on and off the mats. Also, if competitions are not your thing and just want to treat this as a hobby, you are in the right spot because you will not be pressured to do competitions. Give the gym a shot and see for yourself.

I started my Jiu-Jitsu journey almost 15 years ago and have traveled the country training and coaching. I can confidently assert that Lokahi is a direct reflection of its high-quality instructors and community. Additionally, Lokahi is a gym saturated with highly competent and qualified instructors who draw from various backgrounds and training methodologies, enabling anyone, regardless of their skill level, to grow into better Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and people. Lastly, you won't find a gym with a comparable facility in the area.
