We have been attending lessons at Hitoshi for the past 2 and a half years, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. From the very first class, it was clear that this dojo is not just about teaching martial arts—it's about building character, discipline, and confidence.

The sensei is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to every student’s growth. It’s inspiring to watch how they connect with the kids, encouraging them to push their limits while maintaining a supportive and respectful environment. Our children have learned so much more than just karate—they’ve developed skills that will last a lifetime, including focus, perseverance, and self-respect.

The atmosphere is welcoming and positive, making every lesson something to look forward to. We’ve seen remarkable progress in both their technique and their personal development. Every class is not just a lesson in martial arts, but a lesson in life.

We are extremely happy with our decision to enroll here, and we are so grateful for everything Sensei and the dojo community have done for our family. Highly recommended to anyone looking for more than just a martial arts school, but a place where children can grow, learn, and thrive!

I had high expectations looking for a new Karate Dojo for my daughter. I visited other Dojos in the area, and Sensei Hiro, Sensei Trinity and Gidea are a great team. It was essential to me to find a place that cultivates confidence, strength, and safety. It was also important that she have the opportunity to compete, and i found all that here. My daughter loves it and looks forward to every class.

This dojo has been an absolutely life-changing experience for our family. From the moment we joined, we were welcomed into a community that not only teaches exceptional martial arts but also fosters personal growth, discipline, and character.

Sensei Hiroshi is an extraordinary leader with a wealth of experience and an impressive reputation in the martial arts world. His dedication to his students is unmatched, and his ability to inspire and guide them is truly remarkable. Under his mentorship, we’ve seen incredible growth, both on and off the mat.

The dojo provides a nurturing environment where students learn valuable life skills such as respect, responsibility, and confidence, all while forming lasting friendships. Joining the competition team has been an exciting and rewarding journey, with outstanding training that has led to multiple gold medals and unforgettable experiences.

I wholeheartedly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a place where excellence, community, and values come together. It’s a place that truly changes lives!

Six years ago, we began with just one of our daughters in karate, and now all four siblings have joined. Karate has taught them not only self-defense but also how to be responsible, kind, organized, respectful, and courageous. Being part of this dojo has strengthened their bond as sisters and helped them build amazing friendships.

Recently, we joined the competition team, and it’s been an incredible experience. Thanks to years of dedicated training, they’ve all earned gold medals, inspiring them to continue on this path. A huge part of this success is due to Sensei Hiroshi, who has a fantastic résumé, an impressive skill set, and a highly respected trajectory in martial arts.

I highly encourage parents to consider this dojo—it instills great values, builds character, and teaches essential self-defense skills.

After moving to Las Vegas we were thrilled to find Hiro Karate. Sensei Hiroshi is an incredible human being who cares deeply about his students, teaching both life lessons and technical skills.

The students also have the opportunity to attend competitions if they are interested. Hiro Karate is always one of the top dojo’s at regional competitions due to the coaching and training students receive.

Thank you for everything you do, Sensei!

For the past 5 years, our family has been incredibly fortunate to be part of Hiro Karate. It isn't just a place to learn self-defense, it's a place where our child has found an amazing community of friends and learned invaluable life lessons. The dedicated instructors and supportive environment encourage personal growth and empower young minds to reach their full potential. Not to mention the outstanding performance results of ALL the kids from Hiro Karate. This club is always a top one in any competition. Those inspiring training sessions (with a flexible schedule!!!) have helped shape my son into a confident and well-rounded individual.
We're truly soooooo grateful for the positive impact Hiro Karate has had on our family. It's a place where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to be their best. Just give it a try, I promise your family will love it!

Hiro Karate is fantastic and competitively one of the best, if not THE best, karate dojos in Vegas. We were attracted to it for our daughter due to Hiro-sensei's Japanese training/life roots, his extensive competition credentials, and his two daughters who also train there and compete at an elite level on a global stage. That was only the tip of the iceberg, as we quickly learned that the dojo shows up at competitions and dominates the region at all levels. It's also inspirational seeing other dojo mates selected to represent the US at international competitions. He and the other senseis have a great way with kids that we really appreciated, as nervous parents wondering if our young daughter would take to it. While it's known to be kumite-leaning (sparring) versus kata (choreograph), both have given our daughter a very strong foundation in karate, she loves practice and competitions, and has made some great friends along the way. We love Hiro Karate and the community and can't recommend it enough!

I would highly recommend this dojo for anyone looking to learn martial arts. My daughter has been attending classes for over a year and absolutely loves it. Sensei Hiroshi Allen expects students to try hard and pay attention while keeping his classes fun. She has come a long way since starting as a beginner and I know she will continue to grow. We’ve made friends over the year and learned that Hiro Karate is not just a school but also a community.

Here's your chance to learn Shotokan Karate at one of the best dojos in America. This is no exaggeration, FIVE of the students here are representing USA Karate at international competition.

This is not Cobra Kai where kids break boards until their knuckles bleed, nor is it Victory where they earn merit badges for punctuality or some such nonsense.

Sensei Hiroshi Allen was named USA Karate's National Coach of the Year and has a very extensive resume that spans decades. He has a master's degree in psychology and is amazingly patient with younger children, incorporating play and games into lessons derived from traditional Japanese Karate culture.

For older students, the competition team is simply outstanding. The lessons they learned as beginners are refined to bring out their very best...and make no mistake, they are among the very best.

Hiro Karate is partnering with Zenith Jiu Jitsu to train that discipline from ages 10+.

My own son started training here at the age of five. Nearly ten, he has earned a 3rd degree brown belt and has medaled in numerous tournaments. He has trained under THREE world champions in the past year. Just as impressive, he has learned respect and how to work towards long term goals. The fitness and confidence he's developed in the dojo has let him pick up other sports with surprising ease.

I really cannot recommend Hiro Karate enough.

My 11-year-old son has been training at Hiro Karate for a little over a year, and the growth I’ve seen is incredible! He has developed discipline, integrity, self-defense skills, and focus, along with a deeper understanding of both mind and body, I highly recommend Hiro Karate. The head instructor, Sensei Hiroshi Allen, is truly one of the best in Las Vegas!

Expertise of Mr Sensei is off the charts, he got 4 pages of karate international gold medal list.

Hiro Sensei runs an amazing dojo. It’s a complete package, wrapping Shotokan karate traditions and character with fitness, sport, community, fun, sweat (so. much. sweat), and so much more. My 5-yo tried it out and LOVED it from the start and joyfully attends 3-4 times a week. My husband and I have trained in the distant past, and watching her made us jittery in our chairs wanting to get at it again. So I’ve been going 5 nights a week! Combining this sport and art that I love with a sensible calorie-deficit, it’s actually felt easy for me to drop 10 of my pandemic pounds since starting a couple of months ago, and my trail runs are faster and easier since starting karate again! This is an athletic full-body workout as well as great stimulation for the mind.

If you’re a beginner, try it. If you’ve trained before and are looking to revive your martial artist soul, try it. If you have a child who might be interested, let them try it. All of the Sensei are outstanding, and this dojo is outstanding! Can’t go wrong with Hiro Karate!

I’m a 52-year-old black belt, been training a long time with some of the best Shotokan instructors around the world. I moved to Las Vegas recently. My daughter was ready to start learning Karate at age 5 so I enrolled her. The instructors are excellent. I feel so lucky to have found another world-class dojo. After watching my daughter train with the kids I was inspired to put on my gi and join the senior class. The bright clean dojo has good synthetic floor mats. Training is a balanced mix of kata, kihon, kumite, pad work and ground work with specialist classes. The dojo is welcoming with an inspiring training atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I think it’s a true privilege to send our son Doga to Hiro Karate. It first seemed like an ordinary karate school from outside. After seeing pages of Olympic gold medals record of Mr Horoshi, we signed up for a year and the best activity to this date we found.

Our son quit from tennis, soccer, piano lessons but still eager to continue for the karate as day 1.

I can assure you that this place not only the best spot to learn karate in Las Vegas, maybe the best in the country.

This family owned business is super friendly, very professional and yet very personable.
Recommended.

Our family has been with Hiro Karate for ten years now, beginning with our oldest of three children, and it has been a wonderful experience. Sensei Hiroshi is an excellent teacher that shows a true dedication to his students learning and growth each day. He is a very knowledgeable teacher and it shows in his daily lesson plans for the students. Hiro Karate fosters a welcoming atmosphere from beginning students to seasoned competitors. Physical conditioning, attitude, hard work, and respect are among the values that are reinforced with our children when they train at the dojo. We are so grateful for the training and mentorship that our children have received and look forward to many more years with Hiro Karate.

Sensei Hiroshi has been teaching Karate for over 30 years, and is the instructor for all of his classes, from the 5 year old to the adults. It has been rewarding watching how far my 5 year old daughter has come in just one month.

For myself, it was the first time back in a Dojo in ten years! I feel right at home, and love the intensity of the workouts and how great I feel getting my endurance, strength and flexibility back.

I highly recommend Hiro Karate if you are looking for a safe place for your kids to learn respect and get exercise during the week. He offers a free class to check it out and see if it’s a good fit for your family!

Sensei Hiroshi is the best. Before I found this karate class I was researching to find a good authentic karate class for my daughter. I went to couple of other karate classes and found all of them so rush to sign the contract with them.finally I came a cross with Sensei Hiroshi and I realized how genuine he is and how professional he is. If you want to find a genuine authentic Japanese karate I highly recommend Hiro karate.

When my gym closed down in late 2017, I was not sure what I was going to do. Being born with Cerebral Palsy, it is imperative that I stay physically active lest my muscles submit to atrophy. I laid at home for three months - which meant that the ten-plus years I put into strength training and fifteen years of constant physical therapy were being wasted.

Since the age of nine, I have always been interested in the martial arts. When I moved to Vegas in 1995, my cousins took up TKD, and passed on some of their knowledge to me. I took up TKD from 2005-2006, and honestly, it wasn't what I was looking for. The Grandmaster had it in his mind that he was going to help me walk, instead of teaching me the art of TKD. I left in 2006, disappointed.

...Forgive the tangent...

After three months of laying around and getting tight, I told my Gramma that I wanted to take up karate. She was all for it, provided that I find a dojo and pay for sessions on my own. She would support my decision. The next morning, I found Hiro Karate online, intent on taking the private classes, as I was afraid of falling behind. That was on a Tuesday - by Saturday, we drove down to the dojo ready to sign up.

As Gramma was getting my wheelchair out of the trunk, we came across the father of two of the students that the sensei was teaching. He told her this: "If you're grandson is interested in learning karate, he won't find a better instructor than this sensei. He's the best around."

When we walked into the dojo itself, Sensei Hiro took us into his office. I told him that I have always wanted to take karate, but was worried that because of my physical limitations that I would not be able to participate. He looked me right in the eye and said that in one year, I would be doing competitions.

In the last year and a half, I have become a Silver Medalist in Paralympic Kata (2018), and I am currently pursuing a BLUE BELT ranking. I have lost weight and gained muscle. The muscles and ligaments that were once tight or atrophied are now completely straight - most notably in my left arm, hands, and fingers. I can actually KICK with my legs (front, sweep and crescent kicks) from a seated position. My reflexes and reaction times are much faster than I ever dreamed possible.

On top of all of this, my mental and emotional states have improved. I am no longer as anxious or depressed as I once was, because I do not feel left out. I am a part of something. I am part of a family, and the friends I have made are supportive and compassionate. The sensei is beyond patient with me. In fact, he pushes me to not only learn the kata, but also the history and philosophy of each kata that I have learned (currently on Heian Yondan).

When it comes to the drills and exercises, Sensei does not exclude me from the hard work, but encourages and challenges me to keep up with the higher ranks. During my first class as a white belt, he noticed that some of the students were pulling their punches and not actually hitting me. He stopped the whole class and told them: DON'T INSULT HIM! KICK HIM IN THE FACE! Now, all the students know to come at me as hard as they can, because it doesn't benefit either party if one side pulls their hits.

All in all, you cannot imagine what karate has done for a young man like me who was once an outcast because of my disability. The students are great and the sensei is wonderful. He makes the class and concepts easy to understand and he takes an interest in each student as an individual and a martial artist - teaching them in accordance to how they are able to learn. Regardless of age or ability, Sensei Hiro has the ability to include everyone into his martial arts family, giving us all the chance to grow and mature in both the honor and tradition of karate. If you are looking for a place to learn about karate - and more importantly life - Hiro Karate is the place to go. Of this, I am absolutely sure.

The BEST place for learning, exercising and developing teamwork. My young son was introverted and unsure of himself until he began training here. Hiro Karate has helped him become a self-confident, caring young man.

The training not only teaches karate, but many lessons young kids need to prosper in life. Confidence, empathy and teamwork are but a few attributes they learn. All while exercising and having fun.

Not only is it good for children and teens, it's awesome for adults as well. After seeing how well my son has developed, I began training with him. It has drawn us closer together and given us a hobby we both enjoy. It's also brought us together, with other members of the dojo, as a large, extended family.

There are many levels to this sport. You can enjoy it as a hobby or try your hand at the occasional domestic competition or, better yet, enjoy it at an international level. You can do any or all, and have a great time! The best part is experiencing it all with an awesome extended family and a great sensei (teacher).

Sensei Hiroshi's qualifications are stupendous! He was a member of our US National Karate team for many years. He's available to teach your child, yourself, or both of you at whatever level you want.

There is no place and no one better qualified or capable than Hiroshi Allen!
