This is a gym, we are supposed to come here to sweat. But the set temperature is ridiculously high. The manager is nice and works with it, but the staff lies saying there’s nothing they can do about it when it clearly has been adjusted in the past and they are uncooperative. It is almost winter and the temperature is above 70. Once the members start sweating because of the exercise it feels warmer. But the staff doesn’t move from the entrance and they are in their hoodies.

This newly renovated Planet Fitness has it all! Cardio equipment for every person. Spin bikes, rowing machine, stair stepper, treadmills, upright and sit down bikes, and more! Tons of free weights, spaces to stretch and do independent strength training, glute and ab machines galore! Beautiful spa, complete with Cryo massage therapy, red light booth, tanning, massage chairs, water massage… oh my! Definitely check this location out if you are a black card holder! You won’t be disappointed.

I am a handicap amputee at this gym and all I recieve from those who come here is blatant disrespect from others. And handicap bathroom stall can never use because those who are not handicap are constantly using. Isn't exactly HANDICAP for a reason right, for those who are just that HANDICAP and or the stall constantly has feces all over hardly ever clean. Quite disgusting

Staff is very helpful and friendly, and the facility is clean. I do wish they were fully staffed - I requested an appointment with a fitness trainer for the first time, and was told that they don't have any right now. They weren't able to tell me when they expected to hire any, either. When I expressed concern about using the machines correctly after coming back with an injury that I was being careful with, I was told to look at the pictures on the machines. I'll keep checking for the fitness trainer.

The staff was fine the person below me should upgrade to a more expensive gym if he’s looking for lifetime fitness or equinox experience. Two staff members greeted me. One had a corny joke asking if Pawtucket Rhode Island was a real place, sometimes less is more. I’m giving this place a three bc the WiFi was locked. I’ve visited at least 20 different planet fitness within Mass, RI, Texas, Illinois and the WiFi has never been locked. I had to use staples guest WiFi. Why would you lock something that comes free with the membership? Also if I was supposed to go over and ask the staff for the password no thanks the less talking I do in a place that’s open inexpensive the better for example. If I walk into Walmart and no one talks perfect. If I walk into Bloomingdale’s and no one talks this could be good or bad good bc I can find what I need without interruptions bad because the employees might think I don’t have enough money to shop there. If the place is cheap please don’t talk unless I ask you a question if the place is luxurious talking can go either way so give it a shot.

The new Plaistow, NH location is great - so far, clean & inviting. I but as a person in my 60's I absolutely CANNOT STAND that young people spend time on their phones in between sets/reps on the machines. Having signage on walls and the TVs - DOES NOTHING to alleviate this issue. While these young folks may not mind prolonging their workout by watching inane videos on tick tock - I MIND very MUCH.

While having staff there to help people check in, possibly clean machines, help people with Black Card Area it would be immensely helpful if they would patrol the facility and gently remind phone abusers to "finish up." I have tried to get 2 of my friends to enroll, but their exact words were - "I have joined previously and I can't stand the kids on their phones, so I quit." Both have joined Vanguard.

I recently visited this location for the first time and was impressed with the facilities and equipment. The premises were clean, but unfortunately, the staff's behavior was subpar. Upon entering, I was not greeted by any staff member, which I found unusual. As I was leaving, I noticed a young woman at the front desk exercising with an elastic band. I bid her a great day, but she failed to acknowledge me or respond. I found this lack of courtesy to be disappointing. As a considerate person, I do not typically complain, but I believe this location would benefit from additional training. My experiences at other locations have been more welcoming, with staff consistently greeting members upon arrival and departure. I suggest reviewing the security footage from 1:35-1:40 pm to address this issue. I plan to return and hope that after sharing my concerns, the staff will be more mindful of providing a welcoming experience for members. It would be beneficial for the staff to focus on engaging with members rather than discussing personal matters. I hope Planet Fitness will take steps to improve the quality of service at this location.

Update 6/2025: New location is amazing! Substantially more space and equipment. We won't always feel on top of each other or wait in line for equipment anymore!?
There are several workout areas to find your ideal space. Equipment is new with some new options. There's plenty of frequently used equipment, especially strength training. Personally glad to see several functional fitness stations.
The Black Card Spa is impressive: 4 massage chairs, at least 5 HydroMassage & CryoLounge+, 7? Tanning Booths, Total Body Enhancement Machine, and a comfortable private lounge.
The Men's locker room is a little underwhelming, but as long as the showers & bathroom remain clean and functional I'm happy. You can't have it at this price point, but it's much better than expected.

Update 2018: Most of the old machines have been replaced with new equipment, but the space is still too small. Would be great if there was a stairmaster. One day...

OG: The service staff is great, and it's usually pretty clean, but the space is far too small for how many machines there are. There aren't enough machines to begin with, so I understand why it's a little tight, but PF should rent a larger space or open another one nearby as its the only PF near in the area. I understand that a lot of the free weight equipment, like bench presses and squat racks, were removed to maintain their "no gymtimidation" image, but I don't think they were hurting anyone's feelings...

PF keeps having Google shadow ban my original fact based review recounting an accident I had there, and the resulting sketchy experience I had attempting to acquire insurance information...almost as sketchy as their very belated, insulting reply suggesting I contact customer service AGAIN to apparently get more sketchy info.
Their offensive reply was 'delayed' because they've repeatedly removed my post every time I repost it, until I deleted their expose court case that finally identified the CEO and confirmed any doubts I had about the company's business model, ethics, or 'character' ...
And not surprisingly, they just deleted my post again, as soon as I posted the court link...wonder why so publicity shy that they keep deleting my post when I include the court case link revealing Planet Fitness pays $9.4 million to settle suit by ex-CFO???
But the ultimate karma is the new law requiring PF to have as easy a 'click to cancel' membership policy, as it is to join, no longer forcing members to write a 20th century letter, buy a stamp, go to the post office and mail it; or just as inconvenient, forcing members to return to the gym that they no longer go to, maybe having even moved from the area, to try to get PF to stop those very lucrative EFT bank perpetual deductions. Honestly it’s the only place I actually feel safe. With active restraining orders and daily harassment, it’s nice to have a place where I don’t feel like I need to be constantly aware of my surroundings. I can let go and let loose and focus on my goals and my workouts, because of the staff. Because they have shown me that it’s my gym, I’m a member and they will help keep me and my belongings safe. That is priceless to me and extremely rare. I love my gym because of this.

The planet fitness gym in Plaistow is wonderful. I really enjoy going to the gym and getting my body in shape. Planet Fitness really is a no judgment gym. There is no staff at the desk. And definitely not watching the 30 minute workout area. My schedule allows me to just get on and do a half hour and get out. I have been coming here for two months now. Every time there are people just jumping in to top off their routines in this “special area” my wife and I have had to work around them, and even just stop early because there are people sitting on their phones like it’s a rest area. And I don’t have the time to wait for them. They have an ENTIRE GYM but still they just flow into this area and throw off our rhythm. I have asked and some people graciously move. Others act like they can’t hear me with their earbuds in. It kind of sucks that I have to police the area that literally has a sign saying it’s only for people that are doing this circuit. I was going to walk by the counter on the way out and say something to the attendant, but, surprisingly they were not there. Not really happy about it. If there are “rules” at least follow them.

This one reminds me of a TARDIS, bigger on the inside than on the outside. I was quite surprised by how much equipment is available. I've seen older and newer style equipment sitting side by side on the floor. I've visited Planet Fitness' that have permanently replaced equipment with newer models of exercise equipment. So it was a bit of history. The equipment is arranged via the muscle 💪 group you are working on.
There are plenty of treadmills available including stair climbing, ECT. A strength training area using what you can use at home and stretching area available.
The men's locker room was in good shape. Handicap accessible 🚿 showers available.
Good amount of parking 🅿️. WiFi available.

The staff, umm 🤔. The associates seemed friendly, but, one was unprofessional. I don't know if he was off the clock ⏰, but, he was behind the counter without an uniform. I also watched as he perched on the counter like a gargoyle while playing with his phone 📱. He also likes to whistle loudly.
A few weight slammers and a few customers who don't wipe down equipment when they finish.
If I'm in the area again and I need a work out, I will stop by and use this Planet Fitness.

Planet Fitness has good prices for joining which I like because I don't feel like my bank account is being drained. The staff is great! Everytime I see them in the gym they are either cleaning treadmills, ellipticals, or the weight machines. The staff is always helpful for answering questions about anything at all, and they always greet you with a smile. I highly recommend Planet Fitness to anyone who wants to join a gym.

Be careful with going to this planet fitness location. They stole 225 dollars from me. I now have to file a claim In civil court. I had called multiple times during their covid shutdown and could not get in touch with anyone to cancel my membership. They stopped charging me at the time so I assumed we were done but they had started up a few months later and now have been charging me for a year. They can see I haven't been in over a year and that I called atleast 2 times during their shutdown to cancel but they don't care. They are using the pandemic as a way to legally extort money from people. Absolute thieves.

Update - I had to call the local police as a planet fitness employee made death threats to me over the phone and they have my address and contact info. All I wanted was my money back I did not use their gym at all and I could.not cancel my membership for months. I was also informed by this staff member that they don't care and they think it's funny that they steal peoples money. Nice people.

It's not the greatest gym, layout leaves alot to be desired, water tastes horrible (which another member in the reviews also echoed) also how do they not have a scale in the locker room??? As far as the positives , the staff seem pretty friendly and they do a good job of cleaning,stocking and sanitizing. Planet Fitness should contemplate buying out one of the neighboring buildings so they could expand, cause size is an issue.

Good workout facility for the money. Clean place including active Covid related procedures, not too crowded that you can't get on a machine, decent selection of basic equipment and a cheery staff. Perfect for people like me that enjoy an hour or so 3-6 days a week working out. Not for serious gym rats though...it is a small facility with limited weight equipment. No area for power lifts /olympic lifts etc...No classes like spin, yoga, etc offered. This is a bare bones individual workout facility. Staff is a bunch of school kids that are on their phone more than attentive to the members. They keep the place pretty clean though and are always willing to help if you ask. Overall can't complain about $10 a month! I've also been part of much nicer facilities with more amenities (with higher membership fees) so overall this place meets my expectations for a regular quick workout.
