The course itself is nice enough as it's marketed as a "family golf course" that's relatively cheap. The greens aren't very well maintained and the tee boxes are a mess, but it's cheap and cost appropriate. The grounds keepers often turn sprinklers on and due course maintenance in the middle of the day and interrupt your play.

As a family course welcome to beginners and children, you can usually expect delays ranging from 10-30 minutes during weekends/busy times. On Memorial Day this year, the delay was over 2 hours with absolutely zero moderation from staff. This course can be played by beginners in 1.5-2 hours - there is no world in which it should take 3.5 hours to play through. The only reason it doesn't get a 1 star review is because they offered a rain check due to their delay. The delay was beyond reasonable even for a holiday on a family course.

It was a log jam the whole time with up to 3 groups at once waiting at 1 hole. It seems like tee times 10-12 minutes apart would be better than 8 minutes? Just an observation to consider.

My rating for the golf course itself is 4/5 stars. It’s a very nice beginners course however when you have someone like Al at the front desk it ruins what is such a peaceful course. However when you have someone like Al at the front desk who couldn’t prevent backups if his life depended on it treats you with disrespect and complete rudeness can take what is a game most people do to find peace and serenity and turn it into a joke. Al should be on the chopping block ponemah.

I play here at least once a week in the summers myself. Also I play with a group of friends typically once a week, depending on what location my current project is. We have had a couple of small disparaging run ins with the employees there, nothing that would stop me from playing here. However today was different, we were berated on the first hole by an employee who was playing not working but playing a round, he let us know very well that he worked there. We do like the course, it’s a beginner course that you will typically wait for the people in front of you on every hole, which is fine that’s expected for a beginner course, it’s to bad that one employee ruined our round and I will no longer be golfing here. There are other courses near by in the same price point that I play and do not have to worry about an employee ruining the game.

Today we decided to go to Ponemah in the morning on a Sunday an 8:40 tee time, to play a quick 9 holes. We are nowhere near professional, but this being marketed as a family course drew us in to try a nice family outing. Upon arriving we were met with office staff who was less than professional, almost judgmental that we were not “regulars” and had a child with us. We brushed it off and went to hole one, and were immediately met with an employee (playing behind us) YELLING at us about rules and making it clear “he worked there”. The entire time we were there he pressured us to move faster and was extremely rude. We will not be returning and will certainly spread the word.

Nine hole course not in tournament shape, but easy to get a tee time, and friendly unhurried golfers all around. I like the challenging greens. The fairways a reasonably open for a nine hole course, although if you're a duffer like me, be prepared to lose a ball or two.

I hope the director of golf who is connected with Amherst see’s this. Amherst is a great course. Same can not be said about the executive course. Tee boxes have been horrible for years. Some like teeing off out of a trap. No ranger whatsoever. Got to play 15 of 18 as there were so many people out there and no ranger pairing groups together. I’d be embarrassed to say I was the director of golf there. Good luck!!

This is a great place to go in the family and kids and friends. I had some free time to kill so I went there and hit a bucket of balls. Right now since it's pandemic and I think it was actually because the machines were broken the guy who runs the shop there and takes the payments he has to go walk back and forth and fill the bucket of balls up. They have a 25 count bucket of balls for I believe it was $6 or 60 balls for $9 so they're pricing isn't bad at all I really enjoyed it there and the guy made me feel welcome he was a really good guy. I wish I remembered his name but I don't. They also have mini golf for the kids and they have ice cream I believe not 100% on ice cream but I'm pretty sure they do. I did the mini golf before and it's pretty great actually the kids loved it and it was a good time overall. So I'd recommend this place to just about anybody it's looking to just go out and play some golf. They also have a little practice putting green in the front by the road so that's really neat.

I have used this location for golf off an on for about 8 years and the tee box’s are great but the holes are way too short, the sandtraps are waterlogged and not kept up with, and there is only 9 holes and they don’t explain that 18 holes is playing the course over again!
