Mike is knowledgeable, professional, and a great coach. I found Mike after looking for a solution to help with my hypermobility. Mike’s expertise and approach focusing on developing proprioception proved to be helpful for my needs specifically and allowed me to gain stability without fear of injury and to prevent future injury. Having no personal experience in training, I wasn’t sure where to begin. On the first session, Coach Mike was able to quickly assess my needs to build and execute a custom workout regiment. He is very attentive to his clients, has tons of great equipment in his private studio, and created an overall experience I would recommend to anyone. I was looking to broaden my physicality and develop better habits for self care. Mike provides unique approaches to training from head to toe, as well as inside out. Every session is different and works the whole body. He provides guidance on food intake and recommendations for days outside of training. One thing to add, Mike helped me with proper lifting techniques and helped me to lift without injuring myself.

Mike is an incredible trainer and is very knowledgeable. I needed help with my form and Mike greatly improved my form with deadlifts, squats, etc... I'd highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for a personal trainer. Unlike other "PT's" Mike does not hold you to a contract.

Trying my hardest to succinctly put together how amazing TFX Training Effects and the owner Mike is without writing a novel! Getting fit and into shape has been on my to-do list for SO long. Not knowing where to start or how to start, I was referred to Mike. When I tell you from the second that I stepped foot into Mike's space up until now, Mike has made it a priority to make sure that I was pushing myself and holding me accountable to my own goals that I set. I've been working out with Mike now for about 5 months and I look forward to working out with Mike for the next 5 months and beyond! My 14 year old decided he wanted to get more fit and start working out. We were referred to Mike and it was the best thing that could have happened to my son. My son has struggled with core strength, fine motor, and developmental coordination disorder, among other things. He always wanted to work out, but could never seem to get the hang of how to. Mike started from scratch with him and explained to him that he wasn’t there to make him a muscle man, but to make his whole body work in sync and to fix the problem areas one by one. The change in my sons body, but most importantly, his self confidence since meeting Mike is amazing. Mike even made him a customized plan for home, which he carries over on the days he is not there. His attitude is so positive! He makes my son feel so proud of himself. My biggest fear with setting him up for training was he would be looked down or become frustrated. People who know my son literally can’t believe the transformation. Mike is just a wonderful, smart, caring person who truly loves what he does, and it shines through in the results I see in my son. I would highly recommend him to anyone. If you ever wanted to take that first step to a better, healthier, more confident version of yourself or a family member, and do it the right way, Mike is your guy.

My road to fitness has been a bumpy one. I tried to do it on my own at home, then I joined a big gym and tried their classes and then their trainers but it never stuck or clicked. I was never sure if I was doing the exercises correctly and had multiple strain/pulls or I was too sore for a week before I wanted to attempt to work out again. It was not enjoyable and I was not seeing the results. Each time I was so hopeful that it would work and I felt like it was just me that I failed again.
Then I tried Mike and it was different from the first session! He truly listened to me, my goals, past injuries and medical conditions. I have suffered for years with a torn rotor cuff issue and three months in, it doesn’t bother me. His program is the true definition of “personalized”. He customizes every exercise and shows me multiple versions so my routines are varied. He reinforces proper form over and over, giving me the knowledge to do it on my own. Each session I get a printed workout sheet with tips to remind me what to do and how to do it properly. Mike knows his stuff and has a way to motivate, inspire, and most importantly teach. Past trainers I tried were called “personal” but the routine was not custom to me and it was obvious they didn’t want to teach so I could do it on my own.
I wanted to wait to write my review to make sure as I have had so many failures in the past but thanks to Mike I now have results! I am so much stronger and fit and the best thing is I have learned and retained the proper form and have the confidence to do this on my own. It is fun and inspiring! I feel accomplished. When I think of Mike and TFX Training Effects I think of Tina Turner’s song- Simply the best, better than all the rest! Hands down…

I have had memberships with all sorts of gyms with personal trainers for the last 45 years stopped about 15 years ago ….and I gotta say Mike is by far the best!!! Started with him last July and I could barley get on the floor, could just a about touch my toes, couldn’t think about doing a push up!! Now I can get on and off the floor, touch my toes, do push-ups, easily and deadlift 95 pounds!!! Mike is so aware of my potential so much more than I am. He is patient, caring and explains everything. Pushes when he thinks I can do more. He absolutely has my best interest at heart, mind and soul!!! He is my hero and I hope I am doing him proud!!!!

I had knee surgery many years ago. Because of that, I had avoided many exercises because it was so tight. Since I met Mike, he’s helped me work through the restrictions in a safe way. Mike is an extraordinary personal trainer who is truly gifted in his coaching knowledge and in his ability to effectively navigate client injuries and other challenges. We have been working together three times weekly for the past 1.5 years. In that period, my physical well-being and my chronic back issues have improved significantly. In fact, Mike’s coaching has been more effective than any other approach I have tried over the past three decades. My back condition is now completely manageable, and I have also been able to better recover from a surgically repaired ruptured knee/quad tendon thanks to Mike. He is friendly, attentive, patient, enthusiastic, kind, and easy-going in his approach. His workouts are never boring or routine, and he tailors each session to how you are presenting when you first arrive. If you are looking to improve the physical shape you are in, you will not find a better coach out there than Mike. Whether you are a teenager, adult, older person, athlete, couch potato, or someone like me who was struggling to overcome multiple injuries, Mike will improve your condition as long as you are willing show up for his sessions and exert and challenge yourself.
