One of the life guards there named Ariella thinks she owns the club and that she can do whatever she wants. She is rude, obnoxious and behaves very unprofessionally
There is no supervision to what she does.
Great facility poor management.

*UPDATE*
I got a call from one of the fitness managers to correct the personal trainer issue--I was placed with an AMAZING trainer based on my goals and she has so much knowledge and experience. Excellent customer service and so far the personal training has shown incredible results!
I want to love this gym but am hesitant to give it 5 stars. It's a huge step up from my last gym that was in the area and for a slightly lower cost, but I've found that the trainers are a little flaky and they've taken away a lot of the very challenging fitness classes that have been popular at other gyms I've been at, but were not marketed very well at this gym so they were dropped.
The classes are not a huge deal to me--I primarily train independently for triathlons but every now and then I like to challenge myself with a HIIT class or something similar. Since I've joined almost all of them have been taken off the schedule, and they also replaced a lot of group trainers with virtual classes and it just doesn't offer the same level of challenge that having an actual person teach the class. Classes like Les Mills GRIT have a huge following in other 24 hour fitness facilities, so it doesn't make a lot of sense why they couldn't do the same here.
As far as the personal trainers go, I never got my free session when I started. I was already at the gym when the session got cancelled and it's now 4 months later and she has mentioned it several times when she sees me but has not made the effort to set it up again. I did another free personal training session as part of a promotion about 2 months ago and expressed interest in signing up for a few additional sessions. I was promised another meeting to set up the sessions but it was never followed through. I was willingly offering my money, I have no idea why I was dropped. I've seen that trainer nearly every day since the session and nothing has been said.
This was a bit lengthier than expected--I do enjoy this gym, the facility is beautiful, the equipment is well maintained, and membership prices are fair. These are just 2 areas of improvement that would really make me give it 5 stars.

Really wanted to enjoy this new facility. Dislike the employees here tremendously. I had spoken to a “manager” in confidentiality about a personal male trainer glaring for minutes while smirking (I kid you not) at me for rolling down the blinds (that’s what blinds are for... right?) as the sun was going down and that I felt extremely uncomfortable and the way he acted was completely unprofessional. The next day comes around and the personal trainer came up to me very aggressively stating he supposedly wasn’t staring at me and was making excuses. I actually tried walking away because I didn’t need the confrontation. He kept following me until he “made his point”. Then another encounter happened with different male personal trainer.. he walked in front of me saying “excuse me, excuse me, excuse me” as I was in the middle of my set to grab a piece of equipment. He acted very entitled and a lot more important than gym members. Future gym members beware! I signed up for a year contract and have total regrets. Most employees at the front desk never greet you. My boyfriend was interested in joining so he signed up for a 3 day trial pass. Our 3rd day we came in and the salesman said his trial was up but he’ll give us a complimentary day pass.. I never laughed so hard. This place is just in it for the money and you will never be valued as a member. It’s too bad!

This is one of those ‘if I could give 0 stars I would’.
1 star for terrible customer service. They will only consider doing right by you if you are paying for their personal training services. Everyone else will be ignored. And this isn’t just my opinion this actually happened.
I missed a promotion by 1 day since I signed up online instead of signing up in person the following day when I brought my friend in to sign up with me, she ended up saving $50 and I did not. Michele G told me she would only consider honoring the promotion for me if I worked out with a trainer, which I don’t want or need. I never heard back from her and when I was texted by Jessie about signing up with a personal trainer I inquired about my promotion request prior to having a discussion about spending any more money there and she told me she would get back to me, but of course never did.
Unfortunate that they prioritize revenue so high above common decency let alone customer service.

This gym is clean and new and good equipment. The staff have been great so far, very helpful with any questions and friendly. My only set back is the sauna and steam rooms are shared between genders and this is a bit uneasy being stuck in a closed small space with ppl of the opposite sex. I hope nothing lewd ends up taking place. I wish the gym had separate sauna and steam rooms for each gender. Maybe if they cannot build separate ones, they can have separate timings or days for each gender. Otherwise this is a great facility.

Great place to workout and get the job done great staff too. They’ll reach perfection if they fix that open 24 hours issue. I hope it stays this way.

I called to get some information and whoever answered the phone I guess didn't want to be bothered. Rude. 24 hour fitness, but you are only open 5am to 12am? I'll stick with my Snap fitness gym. They are friendly and actually open 24 hours.

This gym is phenomenal relative to the other gyms in the area. The type of equipment that members can train with, the Astro training turf, classes, basketball courts, and skilled personal trainers all make this a great club! The staff are also all great.
I was skeptical about signing up with my trainer (Jessie) as I have had chronic upper back pain mainly in my traps. After 8 sessions (so far) with Jessie, I’m excited to say that I feel great! I feel stronger, look more toned, and Jessie’s personal training hasn’t had a negative impact on my condition.
In fact my experience has been quite the opposite. Jessie carefully worked through my problem rather than around it. She doesn’t use a cookie cutter approach and customizes her personal training based on the needs of her clients.
Whether you have a chronic muscular issue like me, are a heart patient, are elderly, or even an athlete...I would recommend that you give personal training at this location a try. I highly recommend Jessie!

I had a great private training experience with Branden at 24 hour fitness! Branden helped me to get into amazing shape for my wedding in just 3.5 weeks! Branden was knowledgeable, professional, and made working out fun! Branden and team, thank you for everything and for your support leading up to such a special day!

Gym is awesome great NEW equipment , the 29.99 fee they told me they could not give me cause that’s for a 1 gym sport level gym this is a super sport with access to many many more locations and I don’t mind paying more for more gyms with pools suns and steam rooms , I’m not concerned about the music because I wear headphones anyway, and I use chalk they just asked me to please clean the weights after I stained them using my chalk , the big tall guy is the general manager who helped set up my membership and gave me a tour , very informative

If you are looking for an amazing gym, with an awesome staff and even better personal trainers then you need to check out 24 Hour Fitness and go see Branden B as a personal trainer. Whenever I step into a gym I feel VERY overwhelmed. But knowing I was gonna be able to have a personal trainer for a couple sessions I was a little at ease. Then when I actually met with Branden, I was completely at ease. He made me feel so comfortable that it made most of my gym fears go away! He showed me how to do everything i was unsure about and made me feel more educated when walking into a gym. He took the time to explain the workout, why we were doing it, and what it would do for your body. He showed us everything from free weights, classes, to machines. He even took the time to explain the virtual instructor classes, which is an awesome feature. And also fully explained the app and the daily challenges I can do if I didn’t have a PT session. I highly recommend him as a PT and this gym period. Like I mentioned in the beginning, the staff is great. And especially Michelle! She is the sweetest and so helpful and friendly.

I sprained my ankle playing basketball today and was given a frozen water bottle to ice it because they didn’t have any ice packs... I don’t know how a gym could not have basic first aid supplies

I’m so surprised to see such negative comments on here. Not ONCE did I have an issue with people not being friendly, cleanliness or pushy sales tactics. Hell I had no intention of signing up for personal training but I just did today because I feel so comfortable and welcome at this gym. I’m going 5 days a week now which has never happened for me. I will admit, the music isn’t the best. At 5pm, they turn it up for some reason and I haven’t heard of one person liking this.
We all need to drown out the music with our headphones anyway. Might as well turn it down. also, is Whippany/Parsippany really the right demographic of people to be playing only Rap? I’d rotate the genres a bit. Personally would loooove to see some Metal.
No towel thing kinda sucks but it’s a growing trend for water conservation so w.e.... I’ll deal.
If you want to be sure to meet someone there who is very friendly and genuine, I’d recommend Nick. Very professional and knowledgeable. I forget her name (sorry!) but I believe she may be a manager at this site. She’s very nice too. Everyone says welcome when you come in and have a nice day when you leave. I really don’t understand these bad reviews.

I was extremely excited about joining 24 hour fitness, until I found out that they did not value me as a customer, but cared about what money they could get from me. I was manipulated into signing up for personal training sessions I did not even want. I was told that my first month would be waived, that did not happen. After I signed up, which was halfway through my tour of the facility, the general manager did not care to administer showing me the rest of the facility. I had to ask the personal trainer to show me the rest. After some thought I decided to adjust my membership, taking out the personal training, thereby having a refund to reflect the change. I called a couple days after signing up and was told they would get back to me, also I sent an email and they did not respond to either. As a result, I had to take my personal time to go to the facility in Parsippany to speak with the manager. Due to not receiving any form of response, I decided to cancel my membership in full. The manager stated I would get a full refund, then handed and emailed me a confirmation. The confirmation stated that I will receive a full amount for my membership and personal training. I only received the deposit of $10.00. I called this morning asking why I did not receive the full amount. The receptionist said they would get back to me, and of course they did not. I did not feel valued as a customer and comfortable working out at this facility. I believe they were very unprofessional in handling the situation.

I asked about the $29.99 monthly rate that's on their site. Salesman said no such thing exists, not at Whippany, not anywhere. I could sign up for $47 (commit for a year) or $52 per month (month to month). Take it or leave it. Refused to verify rates advertised on their own website. Treating potential customers like idiots? Too bad, because it's a big modern gym with nice amenities.

The General Manager was incredibly rude and indicated that we were stupid for not joining the gym. We just started looking at gyms and this was the first gym we had visited. So, we wanted to see what the other gyms look like before we make a decision. The general manager came to talk to us and we told him we will get back to him after we had taken a look at the other gyms. He said, “You are not gonna come back.” When we repeated that we have to look at the other gyms before making a decision, he said, “that doesn’t make any sense.” He was like only “6% of the people come back. You are not gonna come back.” He basically tried to intimidate us into joining the gym. I really like the facilities there and the place was at a convenient Distance for us. The only drawback for us was that the General Manager indirectly told us that there is no better gym that we could go to and we were idiots for not putting a deposit in for a membership right then. I mean seriously? You ever wonder why only 6% of people come back? Let me tell you. It’s because you call your customers stupid and try to intimidate them.

Great so far. Id like to see a kneeling twister, two more combo four way towers for cable work and pull-ups. More trash cans. Weights in halfs are great, hot tub and sauna room real nice.
