I’ve been going to this gym for about 2 years ago. When I look for a gym I like gyms that have a wide range of equipment, always clean, 24 hours and never too packed. This gym, in my opinion, hits all the marks. I never had any problems at the gym and the staff members are easy-going and attentive.

Don’t go here if you’re from out of town , they have their own rules and pick and choose who they ban and what they ban you for - with out notice. You just turn up and your fob doesn’t work anymore

Seems like their club rules and contracts are different to other anytime clubs

Staff are not professional nor are they understanding - trainer shut the door on me and pushed me out . Both manager and assistant manager couldn’t give me the courtesy of a face to face conversation

Seems they are more concerned with phone use , rather than actual gym etiquette and people putting equipment back in its place or having decency to wipe up after themselves

-10/10 if that was possible, I recommend reading this full review before considering joining. I almost never write reviews, but I don’t want anyone to have the experience I had today. The staff member I spoke to spoke to me in a demeaning way as if I wasn’t capable of understanding what he was saying, and as I was talking he hung up the phone on me. Last week I signed up to try a class, around 10 minutes after the class was supposed to start, still nobody was there, I found out class was canceled because nobody wanted to come. Which shows a problem with the gym if they can’t get people to come to classes. I was not told it was canceled, even though I called shortly before coming, wasting my time. I was told I can come back to try the class next week, today I called to see if anyone signed up so I can try the class. Another worker told me I was not allowed to and you can’t take a class without being a member. Which is ridiculous, I’m not going to pay their expensive membership costs without knowing if I like their classes. I see now why no one shows up to Zumba classes rude staff and ridiculous policies! I recommend checking out a gym with cheaper membership, classes people actually show up to and way nicer staff. Terrible communication, one lady says I’m welcome to come to a class anytime, then another worker says something different. I recommend not speaking in a demeaning way to potential customers and hanging up the phone on them!!

I’ve been a member of this gym for almost a year and it’s been such a great experience. The staff was super knowledgeable and transparent about pricing and the options I had when first joining. I have since then visited a number of AF locations in various cities and states, and this has been the most well maintained and cleanest location of them all. Equipment is seldom broken and always repaired quickly. The owner clearly cares about the gym as I’ve seen a new lat pulldown, ellipticals and most recently a ski erg machine added.

Recently became a member of this gym & I can say with all honesty that this gym is amazing! Great owner & staff, they are extremely helpful & took the time to show me around the gym to give me a glimpse of what I'll be working with. It's extremely organized & clean here at this specific location. Well im officially a member & day 1 was intriguing with a lot of work done. Desperate to get a workout in today, Sunday at 9pm when I’m sure as hell it ain’t busy and no location answers their phone calls, I’ve called about 6 times each location near me to ask how much a day pass is or if I can get a free trial started because it’s not listed on the website and it says to call. I’m not gonna drive 30 minutes to find out it’s an insane amount of money or that I can’t. I hate to be that person to give one star but please start picking up the phone.

Poor attention from the manager, we switched locations and want to cancel the subscription, something they say is impossible because it's not a medical reason, meaning we keep paying for another 5 months without being able to use it. And the manager's attitude is extremely arrogant, either continue paying month to month or cancel everything at once.

My wife is pregnant, and I have 6 herniated discs, but this doesn't matter to this man.

This gym is Legit! I have 2 different gym membership, and this one is my top notch in my list. I joined here during pandemic, this is the only gym open that time and allowed to operate by township because of their appointments program..
This gym has a great, clean and updated equipment. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Equipment are always clean not only by the cleaning person but also the all members are disciplined to clean after using. They have cleaning supplies to use all over the place. Shower room and bathroom are always monitored for cleanliness. I also like the way it’s minimum 18 years old to be a members and 24 hours operation, i can come here anytime even holidays or snow storm. Parking lot is huge, no issues of finding parking spot even peak hours. Hopping this gym stays the way it is forever.

I love Anytime Fitness especially this location in Union Nj. The facility is 24hrs clean, the staff and members are super friendly. Where do I start…this gym & I are like the perfect marriage lol. My career lends to very late hours so I love the fact that I have 24hr access. The larger gym chains that claim to be 24 hours never went back post Covid. I’m also not a fan of crowded or hardcore gyms ESPECIALLY when people don’t have proper gym etiquette. AF is always very clean & the owner is extremely meticulous so I love how the equipment is always in it’s right place. By far the best anytime fitness I ever been to. Very clean & lots of variability to help you obtain your goals. However, staff doesn’t really mingle with people & the staff & trainers don’t offer assistance when viewing those lifting with improper form or ego lifting. Also, the three times I went to bathrooms (arrival, mid workout, and to shower) they were rather dirty and the gym goers didn’t flush or clean up after themselves. Also, like most gyms, a lot of people don’t rack their weights or wipe down equipment after themselves. Overall though, as an experienced gym goer, I’d say this location in particular is solid for gym rats.

I love this gym. Great atmosphere. Everyone is cool and respectful. They got all the equipment you need, from machines to powerlifting. It’s all new and well maintained. Repairs are made right away. I love the 2nd cable crossover machine they just got. I was going to suggest they get another one since a lot of people use it and sure enough they already thought of it, so you know they pay attention to their gym. Bathrooms and showers are spotless. It’s a true 24/7 gym, sometimes due to my work schedule I go late and people are always there. A+ security with the cameras and I believe if someone enters after hours that’s not a member it automatically contacts authorities. The owner Tyrone is great and one of the nicest guys ever. This place just won Union Business of the Year too 👍

I was looking for a new gym and my friend suggested I try out Anytime Fitness because she loves it and I'm happy I did! I really liked the atmosphere of being at a smaller gym. They have everything I need to get my workout done and it's available anytime of day no matter what my schedule might be. Love that you must have an access key to get in; knowing that people can't just walk in without belonging makes me feel safer, especially if I decide to go at night. Upon my arrival, the manager was ver kind and welcoming. They recently expanded their gym with more squat racks and lifting platforms. I really like the environment in which people are respectful of each other. They also added another bathroom and shower room which is going to better suit my packed schedule before work! They have outdone themselves with their new expansion and keeping up with the cleanliness of the facility. Dont worry about bring your own barbell pads, clips or even chain belts. Ive been a community member for well over a decade and have seen many of the local gyms in town. I have been a member of this gym for over a year. The owner, Tyrone, is CLASS-ACT individual. Him and his team have done everything in their power to maintain the cleanliness of the building, to hold people accountable to the rules & policies of the gym, and are constantly looking for ways to inspire and provide for his membership. It's not his fault people don't understand the etiquette on how to respectfully train in a gym. BEST GYM IN TOWN!!!

I am extremely disappointed in the service. I was confronted several times by a stranger
While working out. He came when I first sat down, I Told him I wasn’t done, then two seconds later he came back and I told him I wasn’t done. Then again and finally I told him to back the F&@$ off. This is when staff finally responded. To tell me to calm down and I explained to them that he confronted me multiple times and then I left after calling my husband. A week later I get an email that my access was revoked. I wonder if this would have happened if I was white.

Anytime Fitness Union has been a great resource for me!

24 hr availability, clean facility, an array of newer equipment, and a hospitable staff.

Ownership is dedicated to member needs and I would recommend this place for anyone looking to take their gym experience to the next level!

I'm completely flabbergasted at reading these malicious 1 star reviews. This is the cleanest gym I have ever trained at, the owner is a gentleman and his staff is professional and help maintain a high level of integrity throughout the membership process. The parking is plentiful, the location is next to a health food store and next to a great bank . You can get your training, health and finances in check without leaving the parking lot. First class all the way.

The owner of this location is a vindictive priss. The club is fine just make sure you Never even appear to step out of line. This guy has no business being in any position that deals with people. He reprimanded me in front of a full gym for wearing sandals. He behaves more like a scorned lover than a professional business person. After I post this I will contact ATF corporate and discuss with them the damage he is doing to their brand.

Nice gym. Lots of useful machines for a "healthier you". Seniors pay less, and I was able to get a 7 day free trial. Gym is open 24/7. You receive an electronic key, and the lights are always on. Open on holidays too.

If anyones planning to join this gym DONT they try to get you with a whole bunch of fee every month i try calling the club about these fees and all of there employees thats picks up doesn’t speak or understand proper english like juan carlos i have a conversation with him for 45 mins and he still didn’t understand why i was calling for until i seen him in person guy talks all tuff on the phone but in person it’s different the guy 5ft 2 and am 6ft 4 lets just say i switch gyms without a hassle lol.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The owner of this location blocked us from going there because they thought I was bringing someone in without a membership. The next day they find out that person who I brought in also has a membership as well however the owner and management of this location still continued to block us as punishment.. but for what punishment?? We have full proof of being a member but due to their unprofessionalism, they decide to ban us from their gym because they’re upset. At this point they made it a personal issue on their part. As someone who runs a business, this is unacceptable and unprofessional especially when the customer has proven right. I will make sure to let people know that this is not a well ran established gym in Union NJ.

They lie to me and I did month to month to able to cancel anytime after 7 months they refused and starting say u have a year contract which I didn't do it. I didn't recommend anyone go there. This gym is by far the most welcoming, friendliest, and cleanest gym I have ever been a part of. It has everything you need to workout from cardio, machines, bench press, smith machine, free weights, turf area, classes, etc. The community of members are amazing. The employees and especially Tyrone make all their members feel comfortable. I see myself a member of Anytime Fitness for a long time to come.

Most gyms have malicious membership contracts, but this one takes the cake. Not only is this place terribly managed, but how could you even feel comfortable here when safety regulations are loose to non-existent.

The facility is small and intimate, clean and open 24 hours. This offers flexibility for those that have an issue being around other people while working out. The one on one training session was great, as well as the cardio-kickboxing classes. I haven't noticed any issues with the lack professionalism that has been mentioned in the negative reviews.

I have been a member of this gym for a few months. While it is more intimate than other gyms may be, they have everything you could need to workout- whether it is lifting or cardio. The staff does an amazing job at keeping the facility clean. All the staff members and the owner are kind and attentive. They are open to suggestions and do get new equipment in. Other fellow members are respectful and always clean up after themselves. Highly recommend!

This place is a public health and safety hazard. So many patrons are non-compliant to the mask mandate in the middle of this pandemic. I would advise anyone interested in this gym to avoid signing up, as there are hidden clauses in the membership contract that can get you into some trouble with collections if you decide you no longer want to use their services and take your business elsewhere. Super disappointed in management and their business model. Ripping people off is not the way to operate, especially during a pandemic. Any other gym is better than this sketchy place.

Hey guys! DO NOT join this gym. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had in a gym. The owner is so fake & once he’s got you signed up he’s so controlling over the gym and the people in the gym. I like coming here after work. Its small, relatively clean, and not crowded.
However, they started doing this thing where they close all the bathrooms for supposedly 2hrs. I never know when it actually starts being closed, but it seems arbitrary when they finally decide to open the bathrooms as I have easily been here for 2hrs and its still not open.
This is honestly really annoying. At some point, you're going to drink enough water that you need to go to the bathroom. What is person supposed to do? Not drink the entire day? Not drink while they're working out? Pee in the parking lot?
I've been in the hospital for dehydration/heat exhaustion before. And it seems like I'd have to forego drinking water while here during these internecine 2hrs just so I dont have to hold my pee for 2+ godforsaken hours.
This sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

The cleanest gym I have ever been a member of! The owner cleans non stop before covid-19 and now times 10!! The gym is never over crowded, and the members there are real cool. Th gym isn't that big, but has enough space for weights, Zumba studio, cardio area and calisthenic station. Also there are showers and the bathrooms are always clean.

I would not recommend this gym and plan to cancel my membership. During this pandemic, I have seen one too many people going around without wearing a mask at all or pulling it down below their chin while using different machines. Management does not seem to care seeing as how they witness these events as well and don't say anything. When I approach management, they say it will be addressed but clearly it hasn't been. Another step I'm considering taking is notifying the state health department. Gyms are a hot spot for covid infection so it is management's responsibility to ensure the mask wearing policy is in full effect while patrons are in their facility. Since they won't take covid-19 seriously, I will!

Gym is really small. Speaking of machines is good and they are new. Unfortunately, the man who works there bothers everyone. He does not let people finish the exercises and wants to collect everything immediately. It is like a watchman walking around the gym and watching what everyone does. That bores and makes him lose customers. He doesn’t ask before lifting the weights. It is important to have everything in order, but it is better to do it once people have finished training.
