Our son started swim lessons with Coach Bella about two months ago. In this short time he has grown so much. When he began classes he was afraid to put his head underwater and would cry whenever his face got wet in the bath. Coach Bella has been patient and so encouraging. She has gone above and beyond her job as swim coach not only teaching our son the fundamentals of swimming-- learning to float, find the wall, breathing techniques etc. but also created an environment that our son is flourishing. He LOVES Coach Bella and trusts her. He has progressed SO much in such a short time. He is jumping into the pool and swimming to the bottom to retrieve the ring. My daughter has sensory sensitivities, and both Rudy and Dan went above and beyond to make sure she felt comfortable learning to swim. When she first started, she wasn’t comfortable being in a group class, so Rudy (the owner) kindly allowed her to take individual lessons at the group rate to help her adjust. Dan, her instructor, was incredibly patient and understanding, working with her one-on-one and helping her build confidence in the water.

They also accommodated her by offering late-night sessions when the pool was almost empty — something that made a huge difference for her comfort level. Thanks to their kindness and flexibility, she’s now back in group classes and absolutely loves it! She swims with enthusiasm and excitement every week.

I’m so grateful for Rudy’s compassion and Dan’s dedication. It’s rare to find a program that truly meets each child’s unique needs so thoughtfully. I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a supportive and skilled swim team!

Our 3 year old has been enrolled at Aqua Tots since he was 18 months old. All of the coaches are great with our son (especially Jaclyn and Anevay) and the curriculum is perfect for kids. We love Aqua Tots! Anevay is both my daughter & son’s instructor. My daughter is 4 in her Level 4 class and my son is almost 2 in her Level 2 class. My daughter is swimming completely independently. Anevay has taught her confidence, pool safety and survival skills, and is working on advanced skills such as the backstroke and side breaths. She has taught my son proper pool safety boundaries, and how to be comfortable in the water. He is (almost) swimming independently under water, and is working on learning how to tread. Anevay has a way with the kids, making them feel comfortable with her while implementing the swim curriculum, and still making swim class fun and exciting.

As a mother of an autistic toddler, I left this facility feeling heartbroken and deeply disappointed.
I had high hopes when I enrolled my son in swim classes here, especially since it came recommended by his ABA therapist. Unfortunately, the experience fell drastically short of expectations. Despite being part of a large franchise which you would assume would invest in proper staff training what we encountered were mostly high school-aged instructors who clearly lacked both the training and temperament to work with young children, especially those on the spectrum.My son is autistic, but not severely so. He is very capable of following direction when given the proper support, yet he was treated as though he were incapable of participating. What upset me most was that I had clearly communicated his needs in advance through both the intake forms and in-person conversations. Still, I watched not only my child, but three others, be pulled out of class not due to misbehavior, but because the instructors lacked patience, flexibility, and understanding.
This place does not feel like a nurturing or inclusive learning environment. It feels like a money-driven business prioritizing volume over the quality of instruction or the well-being of children. It was painful to watch my excited son be dismissed simply because the staff didn’t know how to adapt or engage.
If you are a parent of a child with special needs, particularly on the spectrum, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Every child deserves to be met where they are not treated as a burden for needing a little extra care. This experience was not just disappointing…it was damaging.

To the manager , who felt the need to reiterate they were not money driven - during an evaluation of this kind , why not redirect the child to a instructor who could have properly evaluated him for your special programming for children with disabilities ? Why go on to tell me theirs a wait list and show the opportunity all while reiterating those classes are basically unattainable

As a Forbes council member , a business owner and mother i truly stand by the idea not everyone should be in business and aqua tots should certainly not be in business

The entire staff at aqua-tots Tom’s River is amazing, from the moment we check in at the front to when we leave everyone is so extremely friendly. The women at the front desk are just so nice! They are so kind to my son. He went from level 2 to level 3 recently and it felt like everyone was so genuinely happy for him. We have Miss Shayla as our instructor and she is just the sweetest! She is so patient and kind. The progress he made with her is so great! I tell our friends that have children all the time how great the school is!

Starting with the front desk being super nice always with a smile, to the instructors i have to speak about the ones that teach my kids, Daren is the best, i can see he loves what he does, he have such a patience ( i wish i had half of it) with the kids, i personally request to have him to teach my oldest one. The second teacher is Alexa, she is a sweetheart, very sweet with the kids and patient, could not ask for better place to have my kids learning how to swim! For sure i will recommend as i already do! What a fun swimming school!!! The staff are supper friendly, and so are the teachers! I started my daughter when she was 4 months old here, she is currently about to turn 7 months, and she love it!
Especially the teachers are super caring, and as first time mom the classes are fun but It’s a little nerve-racking when it comes to submerging your baby under water. The teachers were super amazing and patient with me And explaining how everything is done! They don’t push you to things you’re not ready/ comfortable with. ( and I did submerge her underwater and she did great like they said, and she didn’t even cry!!!

My two boys are 4 and 2 and we’ve tried pretty much ALL the swim schools in the area. I was hesitant to try another but when aqua tots opened I said why not. It has been THE BEST experience! My oldest son who had been petrified to swim after graduating infant swim rescue after just a week at Aqua tots was on the road to being comfortable again. Months later and he’s graduating to another level and swims laps in our pool at home. Both the kids love it and I can’t say enough amazing things about the staff! They truly care and are educated properly which is something all the other swim places in the area were lacking. 5 stars and beyond! I’d recommend it to anyone

The good reviews say everything about this place. If u want to see your kids learning how to swim, this is the perfect place. Good investment for them. Very important to learn how to swim, specially when u living by the beach. This place is fenomenal whit great team of teachers, clean and organized. U can see they try to focus in your kid, and they try to teach the best they can. Awesome instructors special(Daren) u can see is really good on teaching and work with kids,u can see real progress.But en general they all good in what they do.Top to Bottom. We cannot ask for better place to open here in Toms River. And one more thing, u see the kids graduate and their progress. In the end the kids love it. My 2 daughters they love it and they start doing some progress already. I recommend %100 to any parents this school. I want to start my review by saying the owner, Stephanie, was so kind and answered any questions I had via her personal Facebook messenger! It made my planning and decision making so much easier!

I have not had a bad experience with aqua tots! The whole staff is super friendly and they always have smiles on their face. I have had three coaches for my son and they all were wonderful!

We are now steadily swimming with Coach Shayla! She is AMAZING with my son and he adores her. He gets very excited on the way to class because he will be with Coach Shayla! We have not even rounded two months of swim and my boy is reaching the deep bottom to get the ring and holding his breath and getting to the edge for 5 seconds plus! He has mastered climbing out of the pool to safety! For a new swimmer and being 3 years old I feel that is FANTASTIC! He is obsessed with jumping in, which Shayla lets him do each class and he is over joyed by it!

We’ve been going to AquaTots since it opened in February. One of my children was timid when she started and the coaches were very patient with her. Within a couple of weeks, she became comfortable and was begging to go to her lessons. Both of my kids loved going and I feel they gained a lot of skills in pool safety. Coach Alexa and Coach Jacklyn helped my kids get pool ready for summertime.

Absolutely amazing! We just switched from the swim school down the road in the gym. It was filthy… this is an amazing facility. Clean and professional. We are so impressed and can’t even imagine how much time we lost on potential progress by not knowing you guys are here and open. We love instructor Alexa and the progress our daughter already is displaying. She is all smiled and as parents seeing your child evolve and learn is so rewarding. Aquatots of Toms River is a beautiful facility! From our introductory class, we knew we would be purchasing a membership. The facility is immaculate and state of the art. The pools are warm and divided into sections large enough for your entire class, with showers to rinse off after class. There is a large changing area with changing tables to get yourself and your little one organized and ready. An area with hair dryers and a state of the art swim suit dryer was a plus so I didn’t have to lug wet swim suits home.

The facility is nicely staffed with friendly front desk employees able to discuss our membership, changes needed, or any issues. The life guards are constantly on duty making us feel safe. But we have to give it to the instructors. The class was intimidating for me at first as a parent. I was reluctant to swim in the my 1 year old and do the dunking exercises, let alone the more basic ones. However, I had one class with Chase who changed my mindset. Chase was patient with me from the beginning even when my child cried the majority of the time. Chase was a resourceful instructor willing to stop a moment and tailor the exercise a little more to my child’s skill level and comfortability. He then took time to explain techniques and theory behind the exercises and what we are accomplishing. Now after 5 or so classes, my child never cries and actually enjoys the water. We specifically have requested Chase as our instructor each week due to his awesome knowledge and skill, but also his willingness to adapt for our needs and explain how to do each procedure according to the skill level. I cannot recommend this facility or this instructor enough. Great place and great guy.

What an absolute pleasure and treasure of a find. First, let me state that within the FIRST week of going, we saw an improvement in our daughter greater than the 4 MONTHS of the prior swim school she attended. The main advantage that this place has compared to the prior school is that the pool is warm, and spacious. There is plenty of space to perform several classes at the same time, without feeling like you are being bounced around. Second, there is plenty of seating for the parents, even right in front of your swimming child. There are comfortable chairs and tables spread all around. There are about 15 changing rooms, and 4 full bathrooms to handle all your needs.

Now, let's talk about the instructors: I'd like to give a shoutout to Chase and Jessica. We have seen them work with our kids and seen the compassion, instructions, and encouragement which fuels our kids to continue going. They love to come here. One time, my daughter did get upset and cry, and only because the lesson was OVER!

Now let's talk about the owner, Ruddy. I witnessed first hand what a leader does. There was an incident where one child unfortunately had a liquid accident from his mouth (it did not reach the pool or the water). The owner himself came with all the cleaning utensils and supplies and personally got down and scrubbed, cleaned, washed, and sprayed the area. He could have easily let one of his employee do it, but he took it upon himself. Now that's showing a good leadership, leading by example.

Overall, you could not ask for a better swim school. There is plenty of parking, there's the app where you can schedule all your make-up days and follow the progress of your child, there's the warm welcome from the front desk as you walk in, and there's the feedback from the coaches after EVERY lesson.

My mother in law signed my 2 year old for class's here and two times I drove all the way from Jackson and the facility was still closed. The second time my mother in law called and confirmed the day before and the woman confirmed the class was going on but they had no C.O when we arrived both times. Terrible customer service and so unprofessional. I will never return or refer anyone to this establishment

My daughter is a swim instructor here, and she is loving it. She raves about how warm the pool is, how clean the environment is, how the training has been so thorough and helpful, how kind and dedicated the owners are, and how great the staff is. She is amazed how there is a specific curriculum to follow and that it seems to be scientifically based. I almost wish I had a little one again, just so I could experience the facility and all it has to offer myself. Excellent job, guys!

Wanted to love this place but I’m actually horrified instead. My 3 year old just had her first class that lasted about 5 minute here before I took her out. It started off with her crying not wanting to go in because she was scared- typical 3 year old behavior. We got her to settle down and finally be brave enough to go in. Within idk..30 seconds they submerged her which made my daughter absolutely freak out again. While CRYING they dunked her again?! She came out to talk to me and explain she didn’t like going under so I told her to tell the teacher you aren’t ready to go under yet and she won’t put you under again. So she bravely went back in and I watched her tell the instructor that she did not want to go under again yet.. my daughter wasn’t even done talking yet when the teacher threw her under AGAIN! That’s when we left and canceled our membership immediately. I mean come on. I understand swim school involves going under the water. But she’s 3 and practically begging at this point to stop throwing her under the water. The teacher disregarded her pleads and I’m honestly disgusted by that. I mean where is the compassion and respect? There needs to be some ease into learning how to swim especially with a scared toddler. I would not recommend this place at all to anybody unless you want your child’s fears/wishes/desired learning pace ignored and traumatized. A kid isn’t going to learn how to swim by being repeatedly thrown under the water while begging and screaming in horror. A real swim school would’ve switched up and worked on other skills to build my daughters confidence to being comfortable going under once they were aware of her fear. Shameful
