I have been going to Art Beins for 8 years now, and I just love it. First off, your kids will not be introduced to kicking and punching right away. They will be taught about respect, etiquette, honesty, and they will have a "yes I can attitude". The instructors are phenomenal. They know how to work with children. I always was afraid to go once a week, but now, I want to go as many times as I can. I highly recommend this school for kids that are not as social because ABK is known making great friendships. Also, adults can join the very popular kickboxing program later at night. Art Beins karate is a 5 star school.

I had tried several different kickboxing classes before I found Art Beins over 6 years ago and because of them, I have fallen in love with exercise! This is largely because the exceptional training here is not led by fitness instructors but by qualified and experienced martial artists who have devoted their lives to developing their craft. When I first came to ABK, I was over 250lbs, that 1st year I lost 30lbs, it felt great. Three years ago, I signed up my son at ABK in Freehold. My main goal was that he would be able to defend himself. I had no idea of all the other things he would receive from the staff all along the way. Masters Beams and Marino, along with the rest of the team are so attuned to each student. They know when to praise and when to push the students beyond their comfort levels so that each student achieves their personal best. I am watching the growth of my son's skills in martial arts and more importantly, his confidence in himself increases as he faces new challenges in class. Our son has been taking classes at ABK Freehold for over 6 years. Through the outstanding guidance and training he has received from all of the instructors at the school, he has not only grown as a martial artist but also as a person and he will soon be testing for his black belt. I remember calling Master Carl Beams right after my son was on the receiving end of a relentless bully in 7th grade. We went through all the proper protocol with the school, etc., but my son needed more. He was quiet, withdrawn, self conscious and lacked self confidence. I did not want to force him into taking karate classes, as he did not want to go. My husband was of the opposite opinion - push him to join and take it from there. Master Beams graciously offered a few courtesy classes to see how it went. Although he remained quiet and shy for quite some time, he stuck with it. I am proud to say 6 years later, he is a brown belt and hopefully will be testing for his black belt in the Spring. It took till i was 34, 3 knee surgeries, and a hip replacement to realize how far i had let myself go. I was 307lbs, and struggled in the simplest of physical activities to the point where even tying my shoes took great effort. Through mutual friends i was introduced to Master Carl Beams at Art Beins Karate in Freehold Nj and through his friendship and unmatched instruction in martial arts and kickboxing I have not only gotten my life back on track but have lost over 100lbs in the process. Carl has taken great interest not only in the martial arts aspect but in the all around lives of his students. After an exhaustive search attempting to find the right fit for my energetic son, we settled on Art Beins Karate in Freehold. After interviewing the staff and meeting with Master Beams were were sure that they were the right fit for our child. Where do I start, these guys are great for my children. Master beams and his other teachers have spent so much time teaching my 8 yr old daughter and my 5 year old son so much respect.
