When we first started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a first dance that really stood out. We decided to go to Arthur Murray because we knew we wanted a fulfilling and thorough experience to not only choreograph the dance, but learn some fun and adaptable dance skills.

Right away, the team at Arthur Murray made us feel seen and heard, asking us thorough questions about our goals and interests. They also gave us a chance to work with them before signing any program, which really eased our nerves as we had never formally danced before. Once we started working with Laura and Kira, we knew it was going to be an amazing experience. We received so many compliments on our first dance from friends and family.

Between helping edit our first dance song, getting our confidence up at spotlight parties, or just letting us have some fun in both private and group classes, Arthur Murray really helped make our day as wonderful as possible! My partner and I started dance lessons at Arthur Murray in Hillsborough after receiving a lesson as a xmas gift. That happened over two years ago and we are still at it. The studio is operated by Laura and Keenan Smout along with another instructor Kyra who teaches students in a number of dances depending on the students interests. To our surprise as two over 70 seniors, we have learned a number of different dances to keep the body joints loose and building muscle memory along the way. The dances are taught in a fun and patient manner with plenty of encouragement along the way. Students are encouraged to participate in student "get togethers" and show off their new skills or to just mingle and dance with fellow students. The bottom line is, the Arthur Murray studio in Hillsborough makes learning to dance fun. I don't know if my partner and I are the oldest students but we are proof that these skilled instructors can teach even us new dances. That Xmas gift for a lesson, was for us one that keeps on giving.

The private classes are personalized to your current skills and the group classes work at all levels, so there is always something to learn but it is never actually overwhelming.

We have been taking lessons here for about a year and we really love it. The people are nice and welcoming. There is no judgement, just learning and dancing. They adapt their lessons to our skill level and our interest. If you take advantage of all the "free" classes and dances that come with you lessons it's a really great value (and a cheap date night). We've met a lot of other couples that we like, and now see around town or at other dances. Best of all, we now go out dancing with confidence that we know what we are doing and look alright doing it.

We came here for my friends birthday party I had such an amazing time with Laura and Kyra. I didn't have a partner and they all were willing to jump in and dance and help and teach. they out out some water and some fruit and a cheese platter and it was a great experience. If you have no idea about coordinated dancing I would recommend stopping in to give it a try for an hour. I absolutely love Arthur Murray Hillsborough, and I am constantly talking about my amazing experience. My husband and I started dancing at AM over 2 years ago to learn our wedding dance and we stayed on afterwards since it was so fun! My husband and I visited Arthur Murray to learn more about ballroom dancing and our lives changed. They put together a quality program for us to learn as many styles as we wanted and they additionally were able to choreograph a dance for our wedding which we loved! Fast forward to two years later and we continue to master new techniques across all styles including rhythm and smooth. It’s been great for our relationship and we have so much fun social dancing on our own now too! Excellent, professional instructors! However, they pressure you into using two to three private lessons per week. Twenty pre-paid lessons were utilized within a two month period. That is crazy, and way too expensive!

Furthermore, they pressure you to participate in their extra-curricular activities costing an additional fee. Overall, a dissatisfied and financially drained customer!

My wife and I have known the dance instructors for some time. They are very talented and excellent teachers. We've had the pleasure of dancing with them in a social and ballroom experience.
