British Swim School offers swimming lessons for kids and adults, starting as early as 3 months. Located inside LA Fitness, we're open year-round and welcome both gym members and non-members. You can learn to swim when you’re ready and continue until you’ve mastered the skills. We use gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help swimmers of all levels become safer and more confident in the water. Our safe, fun, and effective teaching methods have made us the preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years. Our confidence-building curriculum and small group swimming classes provide a consistent format and structure with one-on-one attention for each swimmer. Private swimming lessons are subject to availability.

Can not say enough good things about this school. Teaching the kids survival first in case they fall into a pool is what they need to learn. Will save their lives. The instructors are great with the kids.

This swim school is awesome! The teachers are exceptional and the skills taught are imperative for water survival. My child can now not only swim, but knows what to immediately do if he falls in water unexpectedly. Schedule is flexible and the staff is always willing to accommodate any needs you may have. A definite 2 thumbs up!

Cannot rave enough about British swimming School Tomsriver .Both of my kids go here for their swim lessons and I only have wonderful things to say.
Kai is great with my daughter who is very patient and calm with all the kids. All other coaches are very skilled and happily assist to the kids. My another daughter is also making very good progress with other coach. She is very skilled and makes sessions very fun for toddlers.
Also new owner Mr Nick is nice, making more changes and trying to make this place more wonderful.
Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and safe.
I recommend this school to everyone for swimming lessons.

Kai is truly amazing! My daughter absolutely loves him and looks forward to every class at British Swim School because of him. He has such a kind, patient, and calm way with the kids—it’s easy to see why they all adore him.
As both an instructor and the new manager, he’s incredibly knowledgeable and creates a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment. You can tell he genuinely cares about each child’s progress and confidence in the water.
We’re so grateful to have Kai leading the program. He’s made such a positive impact on our daughter’s experience, and we can’t recommend him enough!

We took our 6 month old son for his first ever swim lesson and felt so safe in the water! Paul was great and very informative about how the lessons would go. We were nervous as any first time parents would be. Our instructor was very hands on constantly checking in and asking us how we were doing. We can't wait to get back and swim some more! Water safety is so important as we have a pool in our backyard that we go in regularly.
