British Swim School offers swimming lessons for kids and adults, starting as early as 3 months. Located inside Crunch Fitness, we're open year-round and welcome both gym members and non-members. You can learn to swim when you’re ready and continue until you’ve mastered the skills. We use gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help swimmers of all levels become safer and more confident in the water. Our safe, fun, and effective teaching methods have made us the preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years. Our confidence-building curriculum and small swimming classes provide a consistent format and structure with one-on-one attention for each swimmer. Private swimming lessons are subject to availability.

BSS is a great swimming school. Their approach is a great balance of fun learning and firm encouragement. BSS of Morristown has the best instructors that genuinely care for the kids and prioritize safety skills. Especially coach Mason who manages to calm even the most boisterous of kids and manages one on one attention with each kid!

Christian rocks!! He’s the best swimming instructor I have ever had at BSS. I was petrified of the water when I joined BSS. He was extremely patient and was able to correct my techniques and if I am able to even swim a few strokes, it’s entirely because of Christian. He is truly an asset to this facility.

I have had my son enrolled in swim lessons for just over 6 months now. He started taking lessons when he didn’t want to get his face wet, never mind going fully under. He has had many great instructors along the way and has graduated from starfish, to minnow and is currently in Turtle 1, nearly ready to graduate again! I’m so pleased with the progress he has made and feel great going into swimming season this summer. His current instructor George is fantastic, knowing the right amount of fun and seriousness to keep my son engaged and learning. I’m very satisfied with my experience.

Overall a good setup. The pool is warm enough for small kids. Instructors are generally consistent with some gaps here and there. My daughter used to go to a different location and didn’t make much progress there due to cold water. Since we moved to this location, there has been significant progress, largely driven by warmer pool water temp and generally consistent instructors.

This British Swim School is absolutely incredible. My profession is in education and I was so impressed with how professional and precise the instructors are. Each lesson is very consistent which makes it easy to see growth and they closely track, progress monitor, and update children’s growth in each skill. The instructors (specifically Saturday morning staff: Dom, the young woman, and the gentleman with curly hair & glasses) are BEYOND incredible; they are not only great at teaching skills but they are excellent with children. They take all the right steps to get kids engaged and interested in swimming; for example they’ll have the kids throw a ball in the pool so then the kids want to grab something and get into the pool. They incorporate children’s favorite songs into their activities and lessons; floating while singing wheels on the bus. The consistent language/cues and activities make the lessons comfortable and engaging for kids. The manager is present and available and also very knowledgeable; often coaching instructors and meeting with parents for updates. Its a well ran business as well with a great app to navigate skill tracking and their makeup class system is very easy to use

British Swim School is hands down the best swim school from the babies to adult. I took my daughter here end of June 2022 where she started as a Turtle 2 level. She can swim and has had previous swim lessons elsewhere (at various Y’s and two other swim schools - in private lessons) but her progress was slow and she can barely swim half the length of a small pool. But with British Swim school - she was in a small group class with 2 sometimes 3 other kids and after just three sessions, we have immediately seen a huge improvement on her confidence in the water as well as improvements in her freestyle and backstroke. After a little over a month, she was promoted to Shark 1. Soon after, she was being taught the dolphin kick and flip turns. Fast forward December, she got promoted to Shark 2 which in Y level is level 6 which translate to skills refinement and endurance in a little over 6 months. Whichever location we go to the teaching technique is the same and highly effective. I recommend this swim school with full confidence. I know getting a hold of them via phone, email and text is very frustrating. This I really hope management will take a look into and improvement. But, I have to say, in-spite of that, enrolling your child here is well worth every penny. The instructors are all amazing. I wish everyone in British Swim School the best and THANK YOU for all the help that you’ve done to my daughter. She has improved so so much under your teaching.

I honestly have NO words for the lack of knowledge, respect and consistency that this school offers. Instructors change constantly and are at most 15 years old? Do not work well with small children and the male instructors are so harsh with the girls that some refuse to even participate in the class. The staff has no idea what’s going on, or are aware who the students are (not surprised since the staff changes constantly) - the owner is NO WHERE to be found, and I’ve begged every week for a conversation with her since my child hasn’t progressed in over 9 months- I have seen multiple parents storm out, wish I took their lead sooner instead I have wasted months and thousands of dollars on a terrible experience. Hoping to find the main British school contact to report this operation so no other children and parents are tricked into giving their money for no results

We've been taking our kids to lessons with the British Swim School at Crunch Fitness for several months, and we couldn't be happier. The instructors are all top notch, and the owner clearly cares about each child and their progress. Small class sizes, changing lockers next to the pool, free parking (with validation) at the indoor garage, and a great pool are all added benefits. Our kids look forward to the lessons each week, and we're very happy with all aspects.
