Mastet Brooks is an amazing teacher! He teaches a wide variety of kids and helped me obtain my black belt. Him and the other instructors are very passionate about spreading the world of Tae Kempo. All the other people I've met are extremely kind. CMB rocks!

My oldest daughter used to be very shy, but after 4 or 5 years of CMB has boosted her confidence. She is now talking to more people and is making new friends. My youngest daughter used to be scared to talk to people, and in 3 years of CMB she has made so many friends. Both of them had also learn to defend them self in a situation where they need it.

The CMB Karate “community” is awesome.

Master Brooks and his entire staff are passionate about martial arts and dedicated to seeing their students succeed. They have a way of challenging their students’ minds and bodies, as well as building their confidence and self esteem so that they can succeed in class as well as outside of the dojo.

Master Brooks is not only a martial arts expert, he is an amazing leader that has a great rapport with all of his students. He can adjust his teaching to all levels and also makes them relatable to the real world. He is very accommodating, flexible, and responsive. He has a solution for everything!

Classes are a great balance of seriousness and discipline coupled with fun and laughs. Students are always challenged and engaged no matter what level or age they are. They not only learn skills, they also learn discipline and respect for each other. They also come together to celebrate each other’s accomplishments.

Unlimited class options have given us the opportunity to take advantage of a broad range of classes beyond our regular belt classes, including instructor classes, weapons classes, sparring and grappling classes, and demo team. The dojo also provides fun, team building events for the students to get together outside of class time which helps foster the strong CMB community.

CMB also has a strong presence in the local community. They always step up to volunteer and support causes in the area.

Overall, it has been amazing to watch my daughters’ skills and confidence grow as they have progressed in the sport. We highly recommend joining the CMB Karate family.

Could not imagine a better sensi or dojo. It you want to learn a martial art that could be useful for self denfese, just want to be active or want a challenge this is the place to go. Started with my 5 year old going there. He loved it so much and we were so impressed that now me and my 14 year old go to there family classes together. Whether it is the kids, family and adult classes you can not go wrong here. Best studio in the area, hands down

Master Brook is great with kids, and he keeps kids interested while learning. BUT almost every class seems to have many problematic kids that disrupt the class, these kids were all over the place districting the good kids that actually want to practice.
Master Brook seem to let them and so are the parents. Based on my humble opinion, karate is supposed to be all about:
Respect
discipline
Protect
Disappointed in class management

I can’t say enough good things about CMB Karate and Master Brooks. Master Brooks is relatable, fun, funny and effective. He builds confidence in kids and meets them right where they are at so they can be successful. Enrolling my son in karate here is single handedly the best decision I’ve made for him. We enrolled our son in 2018 after hearing glowing reviews from several friends with kids enrolled in the program. Having not had any other experience with other dojo's, we had no basis for comparison, but I can safely say that we don't need to make comparisons because as long as our son (and our daughter, who also enrolled) want to continue with Karate, Master Brooks is our teacher.

From the first class, he took time and care to teach our children, both the basics of Karate as well as respect for each other and for the instructors. He has fostered self esteem in our kids through excellent positive reinforcement and through kind discipline.

It's also worth noting the great group of kids and adults that have progressed from student to instructor at the dojo - besides his wife, who is an incredibly capable instructor, the teenage students who have progressed to brown and black belt all assist in running the class and in helping the students with form practice and drills. You get a real sense of excitement and community from seeing these young people participate and teach those younger kids coming up the ranks, and it's all due to the great leadership of Master Brooks. Our son has stayed committed and is now a purple belt and a junior instructor trainee with every intention of progressing to black belt and beyond!

I haven't even mentioned the demo teams he runs, or the summer boot camp they offer, which gives the students a chance to get more intensive time doing fun showcases and learning in a more intense situation.

I highly recommend stopping in and watching a class, and typically they offer a free class to people interested in joining.

I was initially worried that at 10, our son was a little old starting his white belt. Much of this was based on the younger age of most students in the class. But Master Brooks adjusts his teaching for each student. He keeps them engaged with lively and relevant conversations and demonstration. He is able to relate to the kids on their own level, and frequently switches gears from fun and silly, to serious and disciplined. Given the range of ages and needs the students obviously have, it is actually incredible to watch one of these classes. Our son is so hooked and wants to go every day. I’m not sure we’ve ever seen him as motivated! I would heartily recommend CMB Karate to anyone.

Master Brooks is best in all kinds. He is friendly yet tuff, he is joyful yet disciplined, he is the best master.
Unfortunately, we had to move out of NJ and we requested him to find similar school in Atlanta. Master Brooks did all the research and talking to the instructor before we reached. Without his help, it would have been difficult to find a good class. Mrinmoy miss him and Master Brooks teaching help d him stay on the same belt. Even Sensei in new school was very much impressed with the technique Mrinmoy had learned from Master Brooks.

My 2 sons have been attending classes at CMB Karate for over 3 years! Can’t say enough impressive things about this place and Master Brooks! Students will not only learn rank forms, self defense techniques, but real world skills too. The classes are such that all students feel welcomed and the environment is one of being inviting and positive. Students applaud each other and Master Brooks will teach students discipline, focus, physical strength, physical and mental endurance, perseverance, and respect all with great enthusiasm and will have them feeling empowered through his real world discussions! He will also discuss and teach them how to approach school situations in an appropriate manner etc that they may encounter or in other scenarios. There are several types of classes offered that focus on different martial arts techniques. Plus his August week long summer camp is a great option to attend for even more skills! An extra bonus is when the other Sensais May teach the class.. this is a great way to learn as well with someone who may provide technique guidance in another way that’s beneficial. There is nothing better then having your child look in the mirror in class and smile proudly knowing they just did their techniques well! My family enjoys going to CMB Karate and seeing what our sons have learned and seeing their natural abilities come through!

Master Brooks is not only extremely knowledgeable and experienced in martial arts, but also an incredibly gifted teacher.

In just a few short months, I have learned a surprising amount of practical and effective self-defense techniques. But even more valuable to me, is the sense of self-confidence, and love for physical activity that I have gained from his school.

One thing that really stood out to me from this school was the willingness of Master Brooks and his instructors to include and work with the skill level and ability of every single person that walks in the door.

I am very overweight, and I cannot physically do some of the warm-up exorcizes or techniques taught in class, but the staff and the atmosphere at CMB have never made me feel uncomfortable for that. Furthermore, while they have worked with me at my ability level, I am also very surprised at their ability to always offer me a challenge that I strive to attain.

Also, I have to say that if I had kids, I wouldnt hesitate to put them in one of Master Brooks' classes. I have witnessed his ability to work with the youth classes and it is really great see how he can not only teach, but make every moment fun and engaging for the kids.
